Jubilife City was exactly not what Esben expected. Of course, what exactly did he expect in this odd modern world? It wasn’t long before they were shambling out of the grass and onto the paved roadways that led into the vast city. It was … intimidating. Or would’ve been; it totally was not at all in any way intimidating for Esben to be towered over by these strange structures. His pokemon huddled close to him as they slowed in their steps. Luckily, they were on the sidewalks and not wandering in the middle of the streets, though Esben found himself growing increasingly tense as they maneuvered. There were several cars that whizzed by and absently the young boy hugged Flef tighter to his chest as a source of comfort. The little fluff ball didn’t seem to mind though, eye wandering curiously as he took in the new surroundings. Of the crew, only he and Teeg seemed less than nervous about the place. Understandable really.

✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ Enter from: Sandgem Town The next morning, Dallas and his team hoofed it to Jubilife City, the biggest city in Sinnoh. Along the way, Dallas had caught up Meloetta on everything that he was up to. "And that's why I'm heading to Floaroma Town," he had finished. Meloetta and hmm'd and ahhh'd the whole time, and she seemed to get the gist of it all. Sooo, these contests are like a performance, then! Well, then I can definitely help! She did her best to explain that she lived for performing, and that she would do her best to help Dallas succeed. You know, to repay you for saving me~ Dallas couldn't help but agree, and she allowed herself to be caught, for the time being.
But before they headed straight for Floaroma, Dallas decided that some shopping was in order. After all, preparation was the name of the game. There were tons of stores, so Dallas was able to pick up all sorts of stuff. He was able to pick up a new set of fighting gloves to help out Buns' Tough routine, as well as a special fake scar. A little trip to an office supply store got him an idea to incorporate a notebook into Susan's routine. He also got some sort of fancy top called a Dreidel. He wasn't sure what the point was, the shop clerk assured him that it would be helpful in a battle. And then, there was the best item that Dallas had come across: Maiden's Blessing. It was very fancy perfume that could release a great scent that added to a performer's appeal. Obviously, Dallas had to have it, and thanks to Baldy's wallet and credit cards, Dallas was able to pick it up, with no problem. "Alright, alright. Now, what should I do now..."

✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ After finishing shopping, the trainer remembered that he had planted some berries into his portable planters. "Oh yeah! Let's see what I got..." While two of this berry planters still had some time to grow, two fo them were fully grown, and found that he had grown 4 Spelon and 4 Belue berries. "Not bad, not bad at all! Dallas picked the berries carefully, and wondered if he had enough to make a few poffins. As a matter of fact, he had enough to make a really good poffin for toughness. So, when he got to the Poke'mon Center, Dallas hogged the small kitchen area to stir up a poffin. Once he was done, he needed to figure out who needed it. Well, Riptide hasn't had any at all...and he'd do great in a tough or cool contest... Dallas decided to give the little shark the poffin, which he chomped at voraciously.

✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ Everyone Once it was night time, Dallas and the crew relaxed at the Poke'mon Center. Susan and Meloetta chatted with eachother (after Susan tried to bite Meloetta to maintain her pecking order under 'Dalpha'; Dallas broke up the fight and scolded Susan accordingly). Ritpide was swimming in a communal tank in the center, happy to get his fins wet. Buns was trying on some of the new things Dallas had purchased, including the faux scar. She had trouble getting Dallas' makeup kit open, and when she saw how scary her new scar looked, she yelped and hastily hid her face. Dallas would have gotten a good chuckle out of it, but he was sitting on a bunk, a stack of papers on his lap.
He was trying to figure out what his first competition was going to be. Floaroma Town was the next stop, and that meant Austin's debut in a legit contest league. "What's our first move?" he asked himself. "Do I start off small, do a beginner contest? Nah. Isis said the magazine wanted to sponsor me because I'm talented, so doing an easy win wouldn't really show that...so, I guess I gotta go big, then." But then, how big should he go? Which of his Poke'mon would he send out on a make or break competition? Dallas was scrawling on the notepaper, making up differently lineups of his crew, as well as costumes, themes, and all sorts of different combinations. Dallas sighed, and rubbed his eyes. "Hell...I don't know if I can do this.."
Beltigre could tell that Dallas was stressing out about the whole thing, and abruptly pounced into her trainer's lap. Dallas grunted, still not used to the torracat's extra weight, while she decided to sprawl out and look up at him with a smirk. "You want some attention, don't you?" Dallas began to stroke her fur, and Beltigre purred with approval. Her trainer continued to do so, and couldn't help but smile and relax. "Yeah, I gotta take it easy, don't I? It's just, I don't wanna mess this up, you know?" Beltigre yawned, and paid no attention to Dallas' worries. Instead, she started to snooze. With a roll of his eyes, Dallas gave in. "Yeah, yeah, fine. Maybe a good night's sleep is what we need." So, Dallas took his notes and placed them next to the bed, and decided to curl up with Beltigre for the night.
However, while Dallas and the rest slept, Meloetta looked over everything that Dallas was working on. Though she appeared to be flighty and carefree, she was much smarter than she let on. The Melody Poke'mon looked at all of the diagrams and possible move combinations. She furrowed her brow; she had been around alot longer than Dallas, and she might not have been in any contests, but she knew a thing or two about performing. This isn't bad...but he could use some help! She carefully set the work back down, and snuck over to Dallas as he slept. Then, she started to sing an inspiring melody, softly and sweetly. While Dallas wouldn't remember the song all that well, the ideas and thoughts that came with it would stick with him well into the coming morning.
NPC: 10/15 || WPE: 10/03 || Town: 01/03 || OOB: Jubilife City was unpleasantly noisy, and while such commotion wouldn't have bothered Jinx had she just been passing through, she was passing through the city while talking on the phone. She could tune out some of the noise, she couldn't completely silence the busy world around her (at least not with a bit of force), and so she was forced to stand just outside the city to continue her conversation. But even there, she wasn't far enough away from the sounds of the city, and it served as bothersome background noise. "Are you in Jubilife already?" Kaeden asked, able to catch the distinct sound of a horn being blown. "Yeah, I just arrived," Jinx replied, already needing to press the phone closer to her ear. "Really? That's fast."
Kaeden grew quiet, and for several seconds Jinx feared she'd lost connection. "I should get going, I need to help someone finish up a project of theirs, and you've got some pokemon to catch," he eventually spoke again, to the great disappointment of the other. "You'll get a few missions soon, I heard Reed mention going to Kanto soon, until then stick to badges, and stay out of trouble. I'll call you again tonight." She refrained from sighing, and stuck to pouting, since Kaeden wouldn't be able to see that. "Okay... What time will you call?" She'd need to know the time, so that she could prepare for her brother's call. "Mm, 8," Kaeden estimated. "Okay, I'll talk to you then. Love you!" Jinx spoke, able to put aside her disappointment, for now. "Love you too. Be safe," he spoke back, and then hung up.

NPC: 12/15 || WPE: 11/03 || Town: 02/03 || OOB: After Kaeden had hung up Jinx lingered, keeping her phone pressed against her ear for several seconds before she finally put it away, and with it went her cheerful attitude. The blue-haired woman cracked her knuckles and then neck before she looked over her shoulder at Opal, who had remained quiet, but more impressively had kept up, since Twinleaf. Neither spoke up, but eye contact was made, and Jinx turned around before too long to watch her path as she entered Jubilife. It wasn't long until she became distracted, but still walked a straight line, as she fiddled with her pokedex in an attempt to try and pull up the region's map. With her eyes on the device in her hand, it was little wonder that she bumped into several people, and pushed past those who didn't move out of her way. Most, being residents of Jubilife and accustomed to its busy lifestyle and rude personalities, didn't bat an eye, but there were a few exceptions and some out-of-towners who sent the distracted woman heavy glares.
Jinx was oblivious to the glares, and the few low curses some even muttered, but did flash a grin when she finally managed to find what she was looking for. Triumphant, she read over the map several times before she popped her head up. "Eterna Forest is to the... North," she spoke, to no one but herself. It was just past Floaroma Town, so there was still a bit of distance, but that was nothing more than a short walk from where she was located now. She knew where she needed to go, and how to get there, all she needed to do now was get there. Jinx nodded to herself, shoved her pokedex back into her bag, and then started walking.

NPC: 12/15 || WPE: 12/03 || Town: 03/03 || OOB: Jinx was thankful to leave Jubilife behind, even if it had been a pleasant change from the tranquil atmosphere of Twinleaf and Sandgem, simply because it meant she was getting closer to her destination. If she had time later, she'd return to the bustling city in the hopes of finding some 'big city entertainment'. With her hands clasped behind her back, she skipped along the route that connected Jubilife to Floaroma, her hair bouncing with her. Opal, nowhere near the skipping type, walked behind her. To the right was a fenced in area of grass and a small pond, and to her left was another pond, larger than the one on the right.
Though she paid it no mind, or even truly registered it, there was a man fishing in pond to the left, and it was as Jinx was passing the area that the man let out a shout. She didn't turn, hardly considering the sudden outburst a concern of hers, and kept her skip up even when the stranger stumbled back and then fell. Opal, unlike her trainer, did give the man some attention, but in the form of a passing glance before she too turned to face ahead. "A m-monster!" The man shouted out, scrambling back, before he found his feet and ran back towards the city. Now that, that caught Jinx's attention. She stopped and turned around to get a look at the 'monster', only for her eyes to widen as her eyes fell on the pokemon flailing angrily at the ground. She watched as the strange creature thrashed about, snapping the metal fishing pole left behind by the fisherman, and making quick work of it.
"A monster indeed..." Opal muttered, none too impressed by the strange pokemon's destruction. Jinx, however was. "I want that," she breathed, and then she had left Opal's side. "Excuse me? What do you mean you 'want' it? Jinx? Jinx? Come back!" Opal called out, to no avail, and then groaned as she watched the blunette skip over to the shark-esque pokemon, a pokeball now magically in her hand. Jinx, without a true plan of action, wasted no time in chucking a pokeball at the pokeball, and she watched in glee as the capsule bounced off the pokemon's skull before sucking it in. "That won't work!" Opal informed, from the bite-free sidelines. "You need to wear it--" Ding! After rocking three times, the pokeball fell to the side. "...Or not. What do I know," the Slowking grumbled.

After wandering for well over an hour, Esben decided it was time to take a break. Or rather, not a break because real warriors didn’t take breaks, but simply collect his forces and compose themselves to determine their next course of action. That was absolutely what he was going to do.
Finding a clear patch of grass off in a park like area (and away from the throngs of crowds that seemed to leak out from different buildings from time to time), Esben plopped down on his rear with Flef still in his arms, frowning a bit as the little fluff ball gave what sounded like a sneeze. "You okay Flef?" he inquired of the fluff, turning it around to stare it eye to eye. The little thing just cooed and wiggled, looking eager to be set down. Huh, it must’ve just been his imagination.
"Okay, okay hold on," Esben huffed, scooting back enough to leave room in front of him and his other pokemon who had circled around before setting the Danshen down in the grass in front of him. Flef seemed more than willing to accept this moment of freedom, wiggling about and eyeing the other pokemon as they stood about.

While he waited on the food, Dallas pulled out his phone, and started to drum through it for Naomi's number. It had been about a week or two since he left Naomi in Malie City. I wonder if he's doing okay, he pondered. He'd have to send him a message under Austin's phone to tell him all about the Gala. He'd definitely leave out the part about the fight, of course. I bet he's off doing those trials. Well, he's got a good team, so I'm sure he's doin' just fine. Dallas punched up a quick message for his friend: Hey Nao-kun. Hope you're still having a good time on your journey. I'm kicking it in Sinnoh right now while Austin does his thing. So far, he got a Tough Tri Ribbon with Buns, so not so bad. I'm trying to hold up your dumb little challenge to be a goody two-shoes, though it's a pain to put up with the B.S. Anyway, take it easy. He almost wrote something else, but quickly sent the message.

✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ Beltigre After a nice dinner, Dallas and Beltigre decided to save a little money and crash at the Pokemon Center for the night. It wasn't near as good as having a private room, but it beat a cell any day of the week. Dallas found himself a good bunk with little effort, since he simply intimidated anyone that dared to fight for one. And once propped up and cozy, Beltigre curled up close to her trainer's chest to keep them both nice and toasty.
Before hitting the sack, Dallas glanced at his phone and the map of Sinnoh. His plan was to make his way to the far side of Mt. Coronet, which was close to Snowpoint City. That was supposed to be a good place to train pokemon, so it was the only natural place to head to. "Well, we still gotta get through Oreburgh, then Mt. Coronet...so let's get some...sleep..." And with that, the two fell asleep.
Esben gave a huff, taking a moment to stretch his little arms high above his head before dropping them back down unceremoniously, hands in his lap as he looked over his team. He blinked, noticing that Flef had temporarily disappeared, head snapping around curiously to spot the little fluff ball rolling (or bouncing? How even did he really move anyways?), immediately scrambling to his feet and chasing him down.
”Hey! Flef! Come back here!” He yelled, causing Byr and Isi to give their own startled chirps of surprise and scramble after their young trainer. Only Teeg was left at their resting spot, confusion etched on her face as she watched the small crew chasing down the fluffy new edition. She wasn’t entirely sure what the problem was, but apparently Esben wasn’t one for teammates to be running off.
The young boy easily caught up with the pokemon, scooping it up into his arms but not before toppling to his knees in the process. The Danshen chirped in surprised and wiggled before turning around to come face to face to the attempted serious expression of disapproval (which looked more like he was having difficulty thinking rather than being angry) of his trainer.
"What’cha doin’ runnin’ off like that! You can’t do that!" He scolded, trying to put on that gruff serious tone he had heard so often in his own life from the elders of his village when he himself got into mischief. It clearly fell short though as the black fluff just stared before giving a coo of delight. Esben had to try really hard not to look agitated at this response. That was not… what he was expecting.
"Ppff… yeh just a baby!" He scolded again, sighing and adjusting the pokemon in his arms as it simply cooed in response. Byr and Isi came to a stop, staring up at the pair as Esben shook his head at them, an indication that, for now, everything was alright. Byr, noting that his trainer had been attempting a pose of seriousness attempted to follow suit, growling and grunting at the Danshen as though his words would have more effect. Isi stood idly by, paw over mouth watching the exchange. It didn’t have any effect and Esben could’ve sworn that the little fits of cooes that came from Flef were his attempt at laughing. Byr seemed to realize this as well, puffing his cheeks in frustration and stomping a paw into the ground.
"It’s okay Byr. He’s jus’ a baby. He’ll learn he’s gotta listen soon enough!" Everything just needed a little training and he’d seen it enough amongst his peers to (falsely) believe he knew how to do it. Sure, Byr and Isi were already trained, but that was very much just… his sister and cousin’s doing. It probably helped they’d been around him since his birth. But Flef and Teeg were new faces and they would be his testaments to his skill as a warrior leader!

Speaking of which, it occurred to Esben that he was missing a turtle. Tuning back into his surroundings and setting his thoughts of becoming a solid leader for his pokemon, he spotted Teeg toddling in the opposite direction of the group. Seriously, what was with his pokemon and not sticking together?
"Teeg!" He called, cheeks puffing up in agitation as he quickly trotted after the other pokemon, Danshen in his arms and his bears at his heels. It was surprising actually how fast the turtle could move and the distance she’d covered in that small span of time. By the time he caught up, she’d already toddled into some nearby grass and almost out of sight.
"Teeg! Stop! Where are you goin’?" Esben demanded once he’d caught up to her in the grass, panting a little for air. Really, it was just that surprising how fast she moved. Flef wriggled in his arms once again, cooing still in delight at the disgruntled state the boy was entering into. Teeg blinked and looked back at her trainer, surprised at his sudden appearance. She didn’t get a chance to really respond to his reprimanding though as a shuffle alerted the group to the appearance of another.
In startling screech, the wild pokemon sprung forth at the group; Esben unconsciously yelped as he stumbled and dropped back on his bum, Flef squeaking at the jostling. Even Byr and Isi jumped back startled, leaving Teeg as the only barrier between them and the wild attacker. She didn’t seemed startled though; in fact, a look of determined focus was etched on her features as she turned her focus to the intruder.

Esben let out a sigh of relief, not even aware until that moment that he’d been holding his breath that entire time. Teeg gave a little chirp of joy as she won her battle, stomping her stumpy legs on the ground in delight as the Kricketot scuttled back into the tall grass. The boy shoved himself to his feet, swatting the dirt from the back of his pants before quickly scuttling towards the pokemon.
"Teeg! That was amazing!" He gushed a bit, beaming in pride. It certainly didn’t seem to cross his mind that the bug was rather on the weak side; no it was clearly a superior display of strength on the part of Teeg! Even the bears were cheering in their own ways in awe. Only Flef didn’t seem all that impressed, instead focusing on some strange noise off in the distance. Was someone coming?
"You keep that up and you’ll be strong in no time! No dragon will be able ta take you on!" He cheered, trying to heave the turtle up into the air in his arms but failing because she was just a tad bit heavier than he thought. She gave a little chirp of her own before being roughly set down. The young boy huffed, turning around and spotting Flef just staring.
"What’s wrong Fle-" he started to inquire, mouth immediately snapping shut at the familiar ranting and cursing of an approaching Duncan. Oh cripes! He’d found him?! Ugh. Without hesitation Esben scuttled forward and scooped Flef into his arms, silently gesturing for the rest of his team to follow. There was no way he was submitting to the tyranny of that man if he could help it!

A Pokemon Tish had never encountered before. Tiny yellow electrical sparks erupting from the pokemon's body. "Oh you must be an electric type." Tish said unclipping a Poke'Ball and releasing her signature black Pyroar. Adding a second Electric-Type to her team would help buffer her Fire-types against Water and Flying-Types. "Ok Pyroar. Let's make this quick. Use Hyper Beam!""Pyyy!" The feline roared a fraction of a second before emitting a stream of white gold energy. The beam consumed the Shinx putting a premature end to the battle. "Good work. Now go Poke'Ball!" Tish said tossing the red and white orb. A flash of light enveloped the pokemon sealing it away in its new home.
