Zak took two steps back, his posture relaxed, his head tilted back and to the side, unimpressed. "I vas hopeeng to avoid posseebly hurting such a pretty girl, but eef you inseest..." he drawled, trailing off. He flicked a ball from his waist, catching it and extending his hand, the ball snapping open as he gave a single command. "Dynamic Punch," he drawled. Deys hadn't moved from his position-- he was now closer than his trainer, but he was off to the side, generally out of the way as Totodile burst from his pokeball, flailing his legs in the air, and drawing his arm back, swinging to try and hit Cypher. Sotnik had quickly slithered back, nearly losing his balance, still slightly unaccustomed to his lack of... limbs. He remained slightly curved around his trainer, though, watching the scene warily. Totodile looked thrilled to get to fight... And it seemed that Zakhav was going to stick to his tendency to go with type advantages when he could get them.
"Like I said," Zak called, raising his voice a bit, "I have plenty uv powerful pokemon.." He bowed his head, his expression darkening to a warning stare. She may have given her final word of caution-- but this was his. He'd invested enough time and thought into this that he wasn't going to back off, and from the look of that Porygon-Z, he didn't have to. He was now almost positive he could take her on, unless she had something truly unexpected up her sleeve.

Scarlett's eyes narrowed a bit as Zak commented that he'd been hoping to avoid hurting her. "Ya kin't be tryin' too hard handsome, or ya would've left me alone when I warned ya to." Scarlett retorted. Cypher was strong, but not strong enough. None of her pokemon were, and that irritated the hell out of her. She could use this fight as a distraction though. All pokemon trainers were so used to resolving issues in a pokemon battle, but Scarlett wasn't your average trainer, she was a ruthless pirate. She plundered, and took the lives of anyone who got in her way. This guy... He was intriguing, it was almost a shame they had to get off on the wrong foot like this, because otherwise Scarlett would have certainly considered toying with him a little while longer. He sure was handsome...
Scarlett's eyes snapped to the Totodile he'd called out, mentioning that he had plenty of powerful pokemon. Scarlett was unfazed, not because she was naive enough to believe she had any hope of defeating Zak in a battle, but because her battle tactics didn't have anything to do with pokemon at all. A totodile was not what she'd been expecting, but it was still a water type, which she felt fairly confident that Cypher could deal with, at least until Zak ordered it to use Dynamic Punch. Cypher swerved out of the way just in the nick of time, and Koga stepped in to back up his partner, as well as intentionally providing some cover to block Zak's view of Scarlett while she made a leaping dash to the right, out of Zak's scope of vision as she whipped out Lorraine and took aim. There was a golden opportunity right there and then, but for a fraction of a second, Scarlett hesitated. That was all Zak's pokemon needed, and the next thing Scarlett knew, she was out cold, quite literally.

Zak smirked, a very narrow-eyed, sharp smirk. "Said I vas hopeeng... not zat I vould try not to," he replied, that smirk growing into a grin. Yes, it would have been much, much easier to do this smoothly; things have would have been quieter, simpler, if she'd simply been intimidated into giving him her contact information. However, that was clearly not the case. Still, though... it wasn't entirely a bad thing. It made things interesting-- it made her interesting. Annoying, but interesting. Working with her in the future might prove difficult, but if anything, it was motivation to keep his pokemon strong, and on top of their game. He doubted anything he did would have a resonating, long term effect; she seemed more the type that might begrudgingly accept, when she realized it was that, or her life, but then work to get out from under the 'debt' he put her under.
Especially given what happened next.
Totodile's jab missed, and the pokemon landed on the ground, chattering menacingly. Zak wasn't paying attention, though-- the moment Scarlett disappeared from view, he stepped back and reached behind himself. And as soon as she reappeared-- a blast of cold air and a flurry fo snow exploded, hitting her hard, and sweeping over her pokemon. It was said that pokemon were never meant to attack people; but Zakhav and Deys had been doing this a long time. It was about as coordinated as Scarlett's 'distraction' technique. The two were virtually telepathic in their ability to read one another, and by the time the blizzard began to clear, and Scarlett was knocked cold, Zakhave had a gun of his own drawn, and pointed at her, his gaze lazily cast towards her pokemon. He'd moved, so that they were no longer able to easily move between him and her, and already had his finger on the trigger.
"Move, even tvitch, and I vill shoot visout hesetation," he warned heavily, "I vould suggest you return yourselves to your pokeballs. I von't hurt her-- unless you don't vat I 'recommend'." No consideration, no uncertainty; the muscles in his hand were ready to react at the slightest incentive.
As soon as the pokemon obeyed, however, he put the safety back on, and lifted the gun. He waited a moment, just to be sure, then put it away, moving over. Some of the wind and flurries were still around, obscuring any onlookers view as he walked over to Scarlett. He looked down a moment, then peered around, to be sure no one was close enough to see. By the time the wind and snow finally cleared, they were gone.
When Scarlett awoke, she would find herself laying on grassy ground, wrists tied behind her bag, ankles bound. Deys and Sotnik would be visible, watching her, but Zakhav would be nowhere to be found; however, if she managed to push herself up to sit up, or began twisting and moving around, something round and metallic would be pressed to the back of her head-- very characteristic of the barrel of a gun.

Everything had happened so fast, a change of events that none of Scarlett's team had expected, and by the time they realized what was going on, it was already too late. Scarlett had been knocked out, her pokemon weren't doing much better, barely hanging on after that vicious blizzard. It didn't matter, they would have kept fighting, except for one thing; Scarlett now had a gun pointed to her head, and Zakhov was the one pointing it. They froze, listening to his demands, and then reluctantly returned themselves to their pokeballs.
When Scarlett regained consciousness, she first didn't let it show, continuing to remain motionless on the floor. The plan had gone awry, that much she knew, so she wouldn't move until she had figured out her surroundings a bit more. She was laying on grass from what she could feel, soft grass, which probably meant she'd been moved out of town, probably under the cover of the trees surrounding it. An attack like that wouldn't have knocked her out long enough to go much farther. Her ankles were bound, as were her wrists behind her back, and that was about all she could gather without making her consciousness known, or at least taking some risks. Her hands twitched, inconspicuously testing the tightness of her bindings. They had a little give, but not much.
Slowly, Scarlett opened her eyes, seeing the unfortunately familiar Empoleon and Serperior. That meant that Zak had her in his custody now, rather than the lab security. Where were her pokemon, and where was Zakhov? Perhaps she had woken up at a good time where Zak had left his pokemon to watch over her. She continued to mess with the bindings on her hands and feet, slowly and methodically, seeing if maybe she could worm loose and then make a brake for it, but that plan was immediately disabled by the familiar feeling of a gun barrel pressed against the back of her head. Scarlett's eyes widened and she froze, ceasing her quiet struggle. She'd been had. "Just who in the 'ell are you...." Scarlett mumbled begrudgingly, not expecting to get an answer, but this guy... He was beginning to feel more and more like her kind of ruthlessness. Scarlett had a cause for that herself, so she had to wonder what drove him. It didn't make her want to owe him any more willingly, but it was certainly capturing her interest.

The click of the safety could be heard; the gun remained where it was. "Vouldn't you like to know, 'Miss Fortune'," came Zak's amused, drawling voice from behind her. "Eenteresting alias, by ze vay." He was on his laptop, his main program still running in the background while he hacked his way through her information. "I must admit, you do not keep very much eenformation on your transiever... But I can't eemagine you go anyvhere unprepared..." He was quiet a moment, looking through her contacts, copying the information over. "So I vonder vhere you keep eet all... Your Porygon, perhaps? I vonder how hard eet vould be to dissect..." There was a series of rapid typing, then he snapped the computer closed, still holding the gun to her.
"I have your contact enformation, and your contacts," he started, putting the laptop away, and closing his bag up. "Tracking," he continued, pulling his bag over one shoulder, and leaning down to her ear, pressing the gun harder to the back of her head, "Ees a spcialty of mine. I von't tell you how, obviously.... but I've made sure tracking you vould be easy." He drew back, standing, pulling the gun from her but keeping it pointed down as he loomed over. "Don't vorry, zo," he added, drawing the words out in a lazy tone, "Vhatever favor I need uv you von't come too soon." He stepped around her, careful not to be within kicking or reaching distance, and moving to stand in front of her, lifting the gun up slightly, the safety still off. "Any kvestions?"

Scarlett scowled as Zakhov used her alias, taunting her with it. Now that she thought about it, her bag and Xtransceiver were missing, probably behind her with Zak. She couldn't tell if he was being serious when he commented that her alias was interesting. Either he genuinely liked the two sidedness of it that Scarlett liked, or he was pointing out the irony of the situation. Either way Scarlett was feeling pretty irritable, and there was little that was going to change that. She huffed, blowing a few strands of hair out of her face to blow off some steam, wondering what the hell this guy was doing behind her, aside from pointing a gun at her head. She could distinctly hear a lot of typing, and before long Zakhov spoke up again, admitting that she didn't keep much information on her Xtransceiver. "A'course not. Only an idiot would keep all their info on that piece o' trash. It daen't even 'ave a good memory capacity, even with decent upgrades. It's my phone and that's about it. I daen't exactly like to keep a high profile now, ya know." Scarlett scoffed.
However, he correctly concluded that she wasn't completely without resources, they just weren't in her Xtransceiver. Though as he began to think abut where she might have them instead, she grew nervous, and then he hit the nail on the head, and to make matters worse, commented on dissecting Cypher. "Tha's not even close, and I swear to Arceus, if yea so much as touch my crew, I don't care how many bullets you be puttin' in my bones, my soul will drag yer arse through all nine layers o' hell." She hissed, shooting a deadly glare over her shoulder. It was true though, Cypher was her go-to mobile computer for storing all information she wanted on record, but even with Cypher's Up-Grade and Dubious Disc alien tech security and defenses, she still wouldn't put her most valued partner in that kind of danger. She had always lied that he wasn't her source of information, and hinted that instead her hard drive was hidden on her ship, so it was easy to make a convincing lie most of the time when people guess Cypher right, but her aggravation made it less believable, as if she were snapping at him for guessing correctly rather than for threatening her pokemon, which was the real source of her anger.
Finally, the computer closed, and Zak informed her that he had her contact information and all of her contacts. A lot of good those would do him. She didn't have family or friends, her pokemon were the closest thing. The there were affiliates in the black market but if one of them were to be kidnapped or hurt, they wouldn't be able to tell Zak anything about her, everything was strictly professional, and the other contacts were archeologists on her hit list, she didn't care what happened to them. As for the tracking though... Scarlett wasn't comfortable with it, but she supposed it didn't really matter. He wanted his favor, so he needed to know where he could find her when he decided to call it in she supposed, but she didn't like the idea of being watched. She squirmed uncomfortably as the gun was pressed harder against the back of her head when Zak leaned in closer to insist that tracking was a specialty of his. She believed it, but was annoyed by his need to rub in the fact that she wasn't escaping this debt she didn't even feel like she should even owe.
Finally he drew back, though Scarlett knew better than to assume this meant she was free. He reassured her that his favor wouldn't be coming any time soon, though honestly Scarlett would have preferred sooner rather than later, that way she didn't have this jerk watching her like a Talonflame. Finally he moved around to her view and lifted the gun, asking if she had any questions. She deliberately kept her movements slow so that there were no misconceptions for hostility, she just didn't want to be laying at an awkward angle anymore, and moved to sit up. Well, if that wasn't confirmation, he wasn't sure what was. Sure, the girl could have just been protective of her pokemon, and he considered that, but he was putting his money on the Porygon for now. At least until he gathered more information on her, and other alternative options. He would have to review some of those classes he took on possible pokemon dissection and hacking... Some part of him leaped at the opportunity to try and hack into a pokemon's database with a grin, but admittedly, he wouldn't likely do it unless it was necessary. Not because of any moral implications, but he was simply fairly confident that, at least for now, he'd convinced Scarlett to (begrudgingly) comply, albeit temporarily. He was fairly sure that, with his little display, and now the added threat to her pokemon, she wouldn't try anything for a while. At least from his perspective, he was fairly sure his actions had made it entirely possible that if she tried anything, unless her pokemon were unquestionably undefeated, he may very likely storm back, defeat her, and this time, take Cypher-- who, given her reaction, was certainly valuable in some way or another.
That seemed motivation enough to make her behave, for now, but of course, he could have been reading her wrong. And just in case he was, he'd create a back up plan or two.
Of course, regardless of whether his assumption was correct or not, he would have to keep in mind that she'd likely start working to get out from under him one way or another, which probably included training her pokemon. Which just meant he would have to make sure his stayed strong, too-- not something he had issue with whatsoever. Sotnik was already fairly powerful; his other pokemon weren't very far behind. He wanted to get Deys and Daeva up to the same area, and luckily, he could multitask that. The best way to train Daeva, aside from just battling her, was, after all, to battle his other pokemon as well, and have them win matches. Which meant Meebus and Totodile would likely be getting some good training soon, too. And it was probably a good time to switch Lillipup out, and ask Imperium for a substitute...
All this was going through his mind, running just below the surface of his attention, like a program in the background, as he looked down at Scarlett. He was, of course, listening, but that didn't mean he was looking her in the eyes. His gaze had shifted, looking her over with a difficult to read expression, before languidly drifting his gaze back up to her face. There was a distinct detachment to his actions, an intentional indifference, and he hardly even blinked at the violent threat. "Vell, yes, as long as your pokemon have no chance of defeating mine... I von't be helping such a lost and eemposseeble vish," he drawled back, letting that same lazy smirk cross his face. "Your bag," he added, pointing the gun past her, "ees behind you. I'm surprised you deed not guess zat already." He pulled the gun back up, tilting his head to the side.
"By ze vay... I noteeced your accent. Vat ees zat?" he inquired, his expression hinting towards curiosity. But, he wasn't. He pretty much knew what it was. It was a baited question, but he was giving no indication towards that; as far as anyone could tell, he was simply inexperienced with accents.

Scarlett continued to watch Zak from her sideways glance. His apathetic expression never changed, even when she threatened him. Though then again, she wasn't exactly in any position to be making threats. She was the one with a gun to her head after all, so her threats were empty at the moment. Still, Zak's detachment seemed rather forceful. What was going on in that head of his? Eventually his attention moved away from his computer, though his eyes certainly weren't on her face. Did she spy a once over? As annoyed and angry as she was, she couldn't deny that Zak was handsome. "You enjoyin' yerself ova' there...?" Scarlett inquired, unable to stop the somewhat suggestive comment from being voiced as she quirked an eyebrow in curiosity.
Finally he backed off, and Scarlett readjusted herself, asking where her bag was when she was free to do so. His mockery of her question was annoying though. "Oi, it's kinda hard to check yer surroundings with ya limbs bound tightly together, and I'm not keen on wiggling around too much at th' moment, lest ya fancy to shoot me fer it." She snapped back. The way he smirked, they way he presented himself, he was in control and he knew it, and it bothered Scarlett to no end. "And yea didn't take nothin' from it?" She inquired additionally. Though she was a little thrown off when he asked about her accent. What did that have to do with anything? "And here I was t' be thinkin' ya were mister know it all." She smirked. "It's a bit o' a mix really, bit a' Scot, bit a' Irish. An' I'm guessin' yer from Snowpoint? Seem to have a lotta Russian speakin' lads and lassies up in there like yerself." Zak's gaze met Scarlett's at her question, and his lazy smirk made a reappearance, his head tilted to the side as he gaze down at her through half open eyes. He let the question hover a moment, then his smirk turned to a grin. "Very much, actually," he replied. Oh, he didn't care much what it looked like; she clearly didn't seem to be bothered much it either. He certainly hadn't been trying to hide his appraising gaze, but his motivation wasn't nearly that transparent. She didn't need to know that, though; and besides, she was attractive. Very, in fact, but he didn't quite swing that way. Well... usually. Mostly.
... It was complicated.
Resting his gun up on his shoulder, he glanced off to the side, a much more amused smirk on his face. "So sorry your bindings are keeping your movement leemited," he drawled, then brought his gaze back, "But your right. I vould shoot eef you started moving tvords your sings, or een any uzzer suspeecious vay." He looked at her thoughtfully a moment, as if considering something, but whatever was on his mind, he apparently didn't care to share, as he instead grinned at her question, shifting his weight and reaching back with his free hand. "Vell... I deed take some zings," he admitted, drawing from his own bag her two pistols, "Alzo zey vere not from your bag.". He had his fingers looped through the trigger guard, but when he pulled them back over his shoulder and down into view, and their momentum made them spin forward, they didn't go off-- meaning he had disabled them, either through simply removing ammunition, putting on the safety, or by other means.
"Zey seem valuable," he added, tilting his head to gaze at them from the corner of his eye, "I vas curious about zem. However--" He swung his arm down, then up, lightly tossing them past her, onto her bag, which was still on the ground behind her. "I vould razzer not loose my investment to sum scaveengers, so I vill leave zem vis you. Generous, yeah?" He smirked, then lowered his other hand down, bringing his own gun from where it had been resting on his shoulder, down to his side. It was hard to tell whether his guard was actually lowering, as he seemed less and less ready to aim and fire, or if he was faking it.
The neutral, laid back, almost lazy expression that had taken residence on his face once more was slowly replaced by another grinning smirk. This time, though, there was a light to his eyes, and he bowed his head, something almost victorious in his gaze. "Vell. Zat ees much better zan I had hoped," he admitted, his voice low, "And much more unique, I vould eemagine. Scotteesh-Ireesh, da...? I vill remember zat." He lifted his head back up, the expression gradually melting away to her estimate, then shrugging. "So I've heard, but no, I am not from zere. I have been, before, zo," he drawled back. Because why be straight forward when you can lie? He wasn't about to give her guns and then admit where he was from; he didn't want her going after his family. She'd probably be in for a fright trying to do anything to them, but he'd rather not get the ranting message about 'Sending her after them'.

Scarlett's questioning and indifferent gaze shifted to an amused smirk at Zak's reply. "Hmm~ It's too bad we're at odds then, otherwise I might've been tempted to consider..." Scarlett mentioned coyly, purposefully drifting off mid-sentence. She wasn't expecting this to be a bargaining chip by any means, simply stating the truth, albeit leaving the end up to interpretation. This handsome russian would make for a fun fling, but right now she felt too much contempt towards him to indulge the idea... Well, then again maybe not. Something about his ability to push her buttons so effortlessly was almost... Attractive somehow. On the other hand it was also extremely irritating, and her annoyance flared up once again as he teased her for not knowing her pack was behind her. She couldn't help but defend herself, and at least this time in spite of his continued sarcastic quips, he at least admitted that if she had moved for her things or in any other suspicious way that he would have shot. "Oh goodie, I was right. That makes me feel so much better." Scarlett scoffed. Well now she knew where her bag was, though she wasn't allowed to look through it, as Zak very clearly stated.
The question however was; did he take anything from it? Apparently he had, though not from her bag. When he pulled out her pistols, Scarlett sighed. She couldn't say she was surprised, he couldn't have her armed after all, but to think he was actually about to walk away with them was just plain aggravating. At least he gave them back, though Scarlett flinched as he threw them. "Oi! Watch it! Those are custom made, don't jus' go throwin' them around!" She snapped. "Not t' mention ya almost hit my head...." She grumbled under her breath, figuring it best not to mention her personal attachment to them, or their names. When he gave his reasoning why though, Scarlett gave an frustrated and flustered expression briefly as she cursed in gaelic under her breath and looked quickly to the side and muttered inaudibly, feeling her ears burning. Investment? Was she some kind of bet to him now that he'd suddenly decided she owed him? Not to mention he was insinuating that she wouldn't be able to escape any more pursuers without her guns. She would try to argue otherwise, but that would just end up convincing him to take the guns back more than likely, which she didn't want, so she would suffer the blow to her pride in silence. Arceus he was pissing her off. "A'course, generous. Tha's the word I'm lookin' for." She mumbled, glowering at the ground.
Her rage quelled for a moment however as he asked about her accent, replaced with curiosity that only grew as he seemed genuinely happy to hear the origins of her accent, commenting that it was better than he'd hoped, and much more unique. Scarlett got a mild gleam in her eye. "Da, Scotteesh-Ireesh. So tell me, vat eezactly vere you hoping for?" Scarlett grinned, mimicking his accent perfectly for a moment. She had guessed that he was from Snowpoint out of sheer curiosity, not for any ulterior motives, though she believed him when he suggested she was wrong. For now at least. "Eh, seemed liked a decent guess on tha matter." She shrugged, back to her usual accent.

Zakhav raised an eyebrow. Well that was so obviously baited. Some part of him wanted to ignore it just because of that, but... Well, he was in control, right? And it was more annoying to leave it hanging. Besides... he was curious. An almost suspicious, but inquisitive smirk crossed his face. "'Cohnsider'....?" He couldn't tell if it was a trick-- or a lead on to a trick-- but some part of him was fairly convinced it was. Even if it wasn't, he wouldn't actually go for anything, of course; but there was something fun in the teasing, the playfulness, the suggestiveness of it. It was why he flirted with women, sometimes rather heavily, even if he wasn't really interested. There were all kinds of possible deep, analytical, psychologically complex explanations; but as far as he was concerned, it was "Just fun sometimes."
And given the situation, it didn't hurt to at least indulge in the hint she was giving, false or not.
He gave no more than a shrug to her sarcastic remark concerning his warning and threat, and merely slid his gaze over ot her at her defensive demand over his treatment of her guns. Instead of completely ignoring, though, he smirked. "So zen, zey are razzer valuable, eet seems..." he remarked, his smirk turning to a grin as he tilted his head back, "And trust me, eef I vanted to heet your head, I vould have." He reached back, scratching the back of his head with the butt of his gun, gaze darted off to the side a moment; at first it looked like he was thinking about something, but as rustling grew audible, it was clear he was listening.
He flashed a rather debonair smirk that quickly turned wry at her sarcastic agreement of his adjective for himself, turning away from the rustling and walking towards her as she started mimicking his accent. He took time on his pacing, then crouched down in front of her, resting his arms on his knees, and tilting the gun up, to point towards her head from under her chin. "I can pronounce 'Ex', darleeng," he drawled out, smirking darkly, "Eezactly ees even more lazy zan I usually speak. Exzactly... Ze 'ex' ees just as far een ze back uv my throat as ze rests uv ze sounds. But I am sure plenty uv uzzers pronounce eet... eezactly as such. Also--" He lifted the gun up towards her chin a bit, tilting his head to the side, eyes closing halfway. "You're not the only one who can do accents." When he really tried, the Russian was undetectable; usually he didn't really try. He lifted his head up and pulled back slightly. "I can also do a bit of British--" he asn't doing it now -- "If you really wanted to hear, but..." He stood up, looking at her carefully, taking one step back, then turning to walk away; he was careful to place his feet precisely so that if she tried anything, the best she could do was sweep one leg out from under him, and if she tried, he already had his weight shifted forward enough that he would simply fall forward into the next step he was taking.
As he headed back, Lillipup came bounding through the trees, looking at Scarlett curiously, and then wandering over to Zakhav, who leaned down to take what he'd found. "I should probably geet going," he continued after a long pause, closely examining the Gem that had been brought, "So unless you have any uzzer qvestions..." He tucked it away, turning his gaze back to her. Sotnik was looking at his trainer now, more distracted; but it seemed the more that Zak 'let his guard down', the harder Deys was watching, just in case.

Scarlett smiled sweetly as he took the bait, though she very well knew it was only because he wanted to, not because he didn't know it was a baited question. "That's for me t' know and you to find out handsome~" She grinned. "I'll consider it when you start treating me like a lady instead of a hostage." Scarlett teased with a light grin. She didn't expect him to comply of course, but if he did, she certainly wouldn't complain. Heck, he didn't even have to treat her like a lady, chivalry was dead after all, but not being a hostage would be a step in the right direction.
Scarlett sighed as his interest piqued over her custom made guns. "Don't ya be gettin' too excited over it. I brandish a gun every now and then, but I'm still a gal who likes pretty things, so it's just the outward design that's custom made, worth more to me than any appraiser, not enough to ransom me with mind ya." Scarlett mentioned, shooting Zak an unamused look as he insisted that if he'd wanted to hit her head, he would have. However, his purposefully charming smirk didn't help her moment of weakness when her flustered feelings were temporarily exposed on the forefront of her face. Though she distracted both herself and Zak with the adjective of himself as generous, and she mimicked his accent for a moment to show off which brought her back into the flow she'd been displaying beforehand. He began walking towards her as she did, and though she wasn't necessarily afraid, she couldn't help but feel uneasy as he casually approached. He squatted in front of her and shoved his gun up under her chin, causing Scarlett to scowl evenly back in his direction as he corrected her on his particular brand of russian accent. "Ya know they say mimicry is the highest form of flattery, I don't see why ya gotta threaten me with that." Her eyes directed down towards the gun, her chin rigid, though a playful smirk crossed her face. "Or is that yer insurance to be makin' sure I don't get any funny ideas?" She asked curiously, highly tempted to blow hot air in his face just to spite him, but she knew better with a gun at her throat. When he switched to normal english though she had to admit she was impressed. "Hm... Seems we might have more in common than I thought." She murmured, rather intrigued. "T'would actually be interestin' to hear yer brittish." Scarlett grinned. Being a linguist herself, it was fun to trade accents with others who enjoyed them as she did.
He turned his back on her, normally something she would have taken advantage of, but... She supposed he was growing on her. Not to mention his Empoleon was giving her the evil eye and she was still tied up. A Lillipup of all pokemon came bounding up to him with something sparkly that caught Scarlett's eye, and Zak mentioned that he should get going, unless she had any other questions. "Well ya still never answered my last one; what were ya hopin' fer with my accent? Other than that... Eh, I guess my arms are gettin' t' be a bit stiff, so if you wouldn't mind leavin' so I kin cut loose that'd be nice." She rolled her shoulders back, as well as her neck, trying to loosen them up a bit, which resulted in a satisfying pop.

Initially, Zak narrowed his eyes at her rather coy response, but when she elaborated on the conditions of her 'consideration', the worst sort of grin crossed his face. It wasn't malicious-- at least, not in a truly nasty way. It was cocky, confident, and horrifically taunting-- he was clearly not saying something specifically related to that little 'condition'. He was very obvious about that fact, too, and from the look on his face, it was something good. Something that he was fully intent on letting hover, unspoken, in the air for several moments, before he simply tilted his head to the side, closing his eyes and smiling smugly, and smoothly dropping the subject from there. Well.... wasn't that just... horrifically convenient.
"'Pretty' ees not neearly as selecteeve to ze eye of ze beholder az sum say," he pointed out in response, gesturing with his gun as if to emphasize the point, "I'm more zan poseetive I could find sumvon to buy eet eef I vanted... So I suggest you seemply stop talkeeng for now to keep zem." A very nice way of suggesting he shut up-- but at least he did have a reason to it. He had ulterior reasons to letting her keep the guns, aside from the ones he gave, but if she provided too much motivation to, in fact, take them, it might start being suspicious as to why he wasn't. And he didn't want to have to explain that; he would probably lie, anyway, but it would be troublesome trying to go through it.
While he had the gun to her chin and his gaze locked to hers, he kept his expression measured. That didn't stop him from letting a bit of an unimpressed sneer cross hif ace at her comment, though; flattery was the one side of the 'mimic' coin; mockery was the other. And it was all up to interpretations, at times, as to which side you were looking at. Yet, he didn't comment; there was clearly some reaction going on in his mind, a response behind his eyes, but he didn't say anything. Instead, for a moment, he simply frowned, staring into her golden irises, and then, as the conversation progressed, pulling back. "Perhaps anuzzer time," he remarked. He didn't feel like playing accent tag for now, and some part of him was nagging at the amount of time he'd already spent. He had projects to do, assignments to start, replies to make.. battles to do, PC's to hack. As interesting as Scarlett was-- and she was, she really was, more than he'd likely admit --he just simply couldn't afford to hover around all day.
He looked at her a moment when she reminded him of her question, but a smirk crossed her face. So she'd been serious? Huh... He was surprised she hadn't caught on. "I vasn't," he replied with a very confident, languid drag to his voice, "I vas merely hoping you vould answer. I figured eet vas Iresh-- but Iresh-Scottesh ees even better. Like I said... more unique. Easier... better to track. And trace." He stepped back. "I'll be lookeng ento you, 'Miss Fortune'," he informed her, "And I'll be staying entouch." He gave one last smirk. "Sank you fur making eet easier vis ze eenformational help." Letting Deys keep his gaze on her, he turned, heading out. Sotnik looked at her a moment, then followed; Lillipup was already trotting at his heals. Deys was the last to leave, before disappearing into the trees.

Scarlett's interest piqued slightly at Zak's curious reaction to her flirting. He was grinning so confidently at her answer, the second half of it to be specific. Did he intend to take her up on that offer? No, not now at least, but it seemed he was considering. Though with that taunting smile, Scarlett was almost certain that when the time came, she would likely get way more than she was bargaining for. She repressed a sigh, hating these corrupt a wish sort of situations. She only hoped it wasn't actually as bad as he was making it out to be. The topic moved on to her pistols, which Zak insisted that she should stop talking about if she actually wanted to keep them, but that just begged the question. If he wanted to know just how valuable they were, why not let her keep talking? Why help her out by insisting she stop? Why even give her back the guns in the first place?
He wanted her alive, he had said it before, it seemed like the most obvious answer. He wanted her alive so that he could get his IOU when he deemed it time, but why did it feel like there was something else she was missing? The feeling only grew as he crouched close, even with the gun under her chin, she felt like he wouldn't fire. It was why she was so tempted to test him by blowing air in his face, but the risk just wasn't worth the reward. He was clearly as annoyed with her as much as she was him, staring long in hard right back into his sharp gaze. She wouldn't be intimidated, she wouldn't give an inch. As much control as he had over the situation, Scarlett knew he wouldn't actually hurt her unless she made a move for him. Eventually he pulled away, refusing to exchange accents for now, suggesting that perhaps they could another time.
She reinstated her question though, as to what he'd been hoping for. He explained though that he wasn't hoping for an accent in particular, just that she would answer. A unique accent was easier to track and trace, since he'd be looking into her. Scarlett blinked for a moment, a small smile crossing her lips that eventually grew into a snicker. "Right, because my accent will help you." She grinned tauntingly, accent at this point dropped. "Good luck." Scarlett rolled her eyes. It was a bluff, but only a minor one. She did like accents, and the scottish-irish was her main choice, but who was to say that she didn't just use it because she liked it the most? She'd already demonstrated that she could use many accents if she wanted to, which provided reasonable doubt to the idea that she always stuck with one, or even that it had any connection to her heritage. True, she had probably said more than she should have, dropped enough clues to put together over a longer period of time if he happened to put all the pieces in the right places, but even then, what good would it possibly do him? She didn't have family or friends to hold over her head, she had her own personal vendetta, her father's already ruined reputation which could only be fixed short of a crazy miracle that even Scarlett wasn't sure she could pull off, and that was about it. Otherwise she did as she pleased, worked for no one, lived on her own rules, rode the waves of life. If he did end up learning more about her, she really just didn't see any repercussions. Not that she would openly talk about it to him either, but if he really wanted to waste time researching her, she didn't give a damn.
Still he thanked her for the information, promising to stay in touch. "Anytime. Though in the future, do you think we can skip the rope bindings?" Scarlett mentioned nonchalantly while he walked off, as if they did this everyday. The moment he and his pokemon were out of view, Scarlett sighed, reaching behind her and brushing her hand against the first pokeball they touched. The ball opened to reveal H.O.R.N.E.T. , a good choice. Scarlett stood and turned around so that her rope bindings were visible to the mega beedrill. "Mind cutting me loose?" She inquired, and the beedrill complied. Soon, Scarlett was rubbing her wrists, glad to be free once again. Afterwards, she let out Cypher so that he didn't have to worry about her in his pokeball anymore. "Captain! I am relieved that you are okay." Scarlett nodded. "Yeah, just dandy, though we'll be expecting that guy again sometime in the future..." Scarlett mused. She still didn't have a name, not even something just to call him by...

Now that Zak wasn't around, Scarlett didn't feel the need to keep her guard up. She relaxed, and let her confusion show clearly on her face. This whole situation was so peculiar.... Zakhov had been interesting to interact with, fun even, in spite of her position and aggravation towards him. However, she was left with many questions, meanwhile he had all the answers to his. That certainly improved her mood, she almost felt exposed without them. After that, she clipped her Xtransceiver back on her wrist, and dug through her bag to make sure everything was indeed there as promised. It all was. Scarlett glanced back up to the area where Zak had disappeared, staring long and hard, but then shook her head, dismissing everything. It was too weird, and she was too tired to spend any more time thinking about it. he said he'd contact her eventually, no use sitting around waiting for it to happen.
She grabbed her bag, however there was a noise coming from within, which sounded mechanical. "What in the---" Scarlett started, setting her bag down slowly and backing away. What the hell had that guy done to her bag?! She had half a mind to give chase and yell at him for leaving a bomb or something in her bag, but she soon recognized the mechanical looking egg that unfurled itself out of the cloth. H.O.R.N.E.T. moved over quickly to retrieve the egg from the bag, holding it up to inspect, and press a code into the buttons on the egg's side. The egg then opened up and unfolded, revealing itself to be an apparently deactivated Elgyem rather than an egg. It hovered out of H.O.R.N.E.T.'s hold and moved towards Scarlett, looking her over curiously as the redhead stared back in fascination, holding out her hands to lightly trace the pulsing neon veins in the Elgyem's outer shell. "So, you've woken up now wee one.... How do ya feel?" Scarlett inquired. Good afternoon Captain. I feel rejuvenated after a long incubation period, thank you for taking care of my capsule during that time. He responded telepathically, the electronic voice crisp and clear in Scarlett's head as if it were her own. "Much obliged." Scarlett smiled in response.
