Noah seemed to be enjoying the field of flowers stopping every occasionally, in his search to sniff the flowers. That surprised Lafayette; he’d never really considered the Dewott a flower liker; usually water and grass types didn’t go together. Of course, it wasn’t like they were attacking him so maybe it was okay. And there wasn’t anything wrong with liking flowers. His mother liked flowers after all; she kept a small garden back home with a lot of them alongside fruits and vegetables she grew.

Actually, Lafayette did a doubletake to look at the flowers again. He didn’t recognize any of them to be honest; they probably weren’t native to Unova. They were in Sinnoh after all and just like pokemon, they probably had their own native plant life and whatnot. He wasn’t like smart or privy on that stuff, but he kind of knew the basics. It took a few days to get to Floaroma Town, and even once Dallas reached it, he took a few days to rest up. He had new inspiration for the possible routine they would do, though he couldn't really think of how he had come up with his stroke of genius. Of course, Meloetta knew why, but she wasn't going to tell him; as a muse, she enjoyed just watching things unfold in front of her. Nevertheless, everytime Dallas glanced at the Floaroma Contest Hall, he felt his heart fill with determination.
Later that night, Dallas looked at his phone, (his actual phone, not the one he stole) and looked at Isis' number. "Well, this is it," he muttered. Beltigre was lying on his bunk, and looked up at him to see what the trainer was gonna do. Dallas clenched his fist, and dialed up Isis' number...and got her voicemail. Honestly, that's probably the best outcome, he thought. After the beep, Dallas put on his best Austin voice. "Good Evening, Ms. Nikon," he started, "This is Austin Tucksworth. I hope you'll forgive my lack of tact in my timing, but I'm calling to let you know that tomorrow morning, I shall be challenging a contender at the Floaroma Town Contest Hall. And forgive my confidence, but I will be winning a Trio Ribbon. Nevertheless, I hope that you can make it to the competition, but if not, I intend to keep my word, and you and CC will get an exclusive interview. Ta-ta for now."
When he hung up, Dallas sighed, and plopped down on the bed, disturbing Beltigre's comfy spot. "Sorry, girl, I'm just nervous as all get-out. But screw that, we got this, right?" She purred, and cuddled close as the two went to sleep.
The next morning, Dallas made his way into the contest hall, already in his Austin disguise. And as soon as he stepped inside, it was clear that he was stepping up into a higher level of competition. The hall was filled with different coordinators and their fans, and many different Poke'mon. However, he kept his resolve, striding to the entry counter like he owned the place. "Good morning, madam," Austin said. "My name is Austin Tucksworth, and I'm here to compete." The clerk smiled and nodded, and began to take his personal information (which all came from the fake I.D. that Dallas had made for just such an occasion), and brought up the entry fee, which he paid easily enough (with the money from the wallet he took). "Okay, and I'll set you up for a beginn-"
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I'm entering a Trio." The clerk looked at him, unsure. But his determined eyes only made her smile, and she put him down for that level of competition. "Very well. Good luck, Mr. Tucksworth." Ausitn smiled, and walked to the contender's area. "Oh, I won't need luck."

NPC: 13/15 || WPE: 13/03 || Town: 01/03 || OOB: Opal had to resist the, very strong, urge to cup her face into her hands as Jinx gave a cheer and scooped up her first capture -- and one that a certain someone was convinced was a fluke. Eventually, the Slowking was able to gather her senses and, very cautiously, approached Jinx and the pokeball she had held so precariously in her hand. "...And just why did you want that thing?" she asked, not bothering to hide her confusion. Jinx stopped, tossed the pokeball once, twice, three times, then started skipping forward. "It has destructive capabilities," she answered simply, and it took all of Opal's strength not to fall onto her face from disbelief. "...Why am I not surprised?" the pokemon muttered, once she'd gathered herself.
The remaining trip to Floaroma was spent with Opal shaking her head, and Jinx staring in awe at the pokeball she refused to set down. Just what sort of pokemon had she managed to catch? She'd never seen one like it before, but already she excited to have it added to her team. Of course, a bit of research would have to be done, to answer the many questions she already had building in her head, but that'd have to wait until she had gotten to where she wanted. She still wanted to get her badge before the end of the day, of course.

NPC: 14/15 || WPE: 14/03 || Town: 02/03 || OOB: Floaroma Town, as Jinx would soon discover, was the sort of bright atmosphere she, usually, enjoyed, but was dampened by the overabundance of flowers. The blunette wrinkled her nose as, upon her arrival, her nostrils were assaulted by a floral fragrance that, while not unpleasant, came as a bit of a surprise for one who'd just left a city. Though, upon her second inhale, Jinx could detect a different scent, intermingled with one of flowers. She began walking, not so much following her nose but the signs that just so happened to lead her to Eterna Forest; a happy coincidence. It was as she drew closer, however, that the second scent began to take on a more familiar form, but it was still off. "...Something's being burned," she spoke out, with just a hint of excitement to her voice. Her interest now officially piqued, Jinx picked up the pace, and headed out of the more populated area of the town and towards, what appeared to be, an empty flower field.
Jinx stopped before she could take a full step in, though the scent was strongest in that area, and scanned the flowers before she spotted a small plume of black smoke trailing upwards from the center of the field. "Someone should put that out," Opal murmured, though she wasn't necessarily offering her assistance, despite her typing. "It's just flowers." Came Jinx's response, right before she stepped into the field and began making her way determinedly to where the smoke originated. She'd only gotten halfway there, however, when the smoke suddenly, and unexpectedly, stopped, and from that area something began moving from the flowers and towards the main road towards the forest, and quickly at that. Figuring it to be a pokemon, or some child playing a prank, Jinx picked up her feet and began running after the hidden figure.

NPC: 15/15 || WPE: 15/03 || Town: 03/03 || OOB: Though the field of flowers kept her target from being seen completely, Jinx was still able to spot dark-green and black tips from her position. The idea of this being a child now thrown out the window, the bluenete's curiosity only grew as she wondered just what sort of pokemon would go around setting fires, seemingly at random. The idea of capturing it came to mind -- because owning a natural fire starter would only aide her -- and just as she began to truly consider the idea the creature burst from out of its cover and beat a hasty retreat from the road into the forest. Jinx stopped in her tracks, eyebrows pulling together as she watched the miniature bush shuffle further out of her sight.
She'd never seen a pokemon like that before, though... that wasn't saying much considering how much interest she held with them, but the shock quickly wore off and the young woman broke out into a run, intending to give chase. "Don't just go following it!" Opal's, exasperated, psychic cry went ignored and the pokemon was left to watch as her ward went running after something neither of them recognized. Physical activity wasn't her forte, and running around wasn't in her itinerary, and so the idea of just staying put crossed her mind. Several seconds passed where Opal simply stood there, the pokemon and, consequently, Jinx getting further away, before she exhaled heavily and brought a hand up to caress her crown. Could psychic types get a headache? She was getting a headache, and it all stemmed from the knowledge that she would have to follow after her temporary trainer, because it was, literally, her only assignment. "It's not that bad, it's not that bad," Opal tried to gently console herself, as she began fast-walking in the direction of Eterna Forest. It was just one little chase. This wasn't the end of the world. It was fine, it was fine.

"What the hell was I thinking?!" Dallas was having a panic attack as he tried to prepare for the Trio Contest he so brazenly signed up for. He started to check over the contest rules again and again as he tried to figure out which one of his Poke'mon would be good for the upcoming Tough contest. "Okay, let's see...Riptide, or Buns...Um..." Both Buns and Riptide looked up at him, confused; their trainer was usually a lot quicker with his decisions. Dallas finally slumped down on a stool next to the makeup vanity, and sighed. "C'mon, Dallas, you didn't come all this way to screw up everything..."
Um, hey, Dallas, take a look at this~ Dallas took his head out of his hands, and looked down at Meloetta and a stack of papers. Specifically, notes that Dallas had written after the muse's late night inspiration. Trust me, if you just do this, I'm sure you and Buns will win! Her trainer took the papers, and looked them over. He was surprised that he had forgotten about the notes he had made. It was brilliant, to say the least. "Holy crap...this is good. Really, really good!" With newfound inspiration, he stood up, and beckoned Buns forward. "Alright, Buns! Let's get you ready for your debut to the big leagues!"
And, with the last few minutes allotted for preparation, Buns was ready. He decided to take another shot at her little delinquent getup, but now she also sported a fake grisly scar over her left eye and a pair of fighting gloves, worn on her powerful ears. She seemed to really like it, and started to get into character. "Attention contestants! Please report to the stage." Dallas, now finally dressed up properly as Austin, returned Buns for the time being, and as a final touch, slapped an explosive seal on the ball. "Well then! Time to get this show started!" As Austin went off in confidence, the rest of his party remained behind. And Meloetta chuckled to herself; hopefully, her musings would show helpful.

Tre stepped back after putting the finishing touches on Gavant, rather proud with his simplistic, but effective, styling technique. "You ready to do this, big guy?" he asked, then grinned when the great beast flexed in response. "I'll take that as a yes then," he mused. As much as he would've loved to sit back with his pokemon, time wasn't on their side, and in keeping that in mind the young man was quick to return Gavant to his ball before he headed out of the changing room and made for behind the stage. Taz offered a smile to his opponent, a silent 'good luck' to him and his pokemon, and waited for the curtain to rise and the MC to announce them.
"Greet the crowd with Superpower," he urged, and tossed Gavant's ball out. The Chestnaught arrived in a bright light, but had barely materialized before slamming both fists onto the ground, hard enough to shake the earth. He sneered out to the audience, and flexed his left triceps just enough to force his arm band to pop out. He returned to his trainer soon after that, his debut a success -- if the crowd's applause was anything to go by.

As Austin waited in the wings, he caught a glimpse of his opponent. He wasn't sure if he had anything to worry about, but when Taz was announced and Gavant was released, the sound of the crowd's enjoyment was thunderous. Austin's resolve wavered for a moment, and a bad case of stage fright struck him. He contemplated running away, changing his name and moving to some backwater Unova town, but the announcer beckoned him forth. "And our second contestant, making his debut here in Sinnoh, Austin Tucksworth and Buns the Lopunny!" Austin cursed under his breath, and put on his best confident face as he took to the stage.
Stepping onto the stage didn't help Austin's nervousness, as he walked out to sparse applause and expectant judges. Okay, okay, we can do this, we can do this... Austin grabbed Bun's ball, and tossed it out into the spotlight. It rumbled for a moment before the seal burst, releasing Buns in an explosion akin to movie effects. Buns stuck the landing, and crossed her arms as she leered at the crowd. "Bun's my dear, fire up the crowd, please!" Buns shot a cocky look to her trainer before thrusting one of her ears forward like a fiery fist. And when the crowd applauded with gusto, Austin felt fired up as well. He stood more confidently, and felt prepared for the next round.
After judge deliberation, they decided that Buns would start off the Appeal Round. By the look of his opponent's Poke'mon, Austin was sure that they would have to make as many high-appeal moves as possible. "Buns, let's give them a tackle!" The tough bunny concurred, and used her powerful ears to spring her forward into a shoulder-rush tackle, stopping mere inches from the edge of the stage. While the crowd applauded, she backstepped away, crossing her arms as she often saw her trainer do.

Taz smiled as he watched his competition's Lopunny deliver a tactful entrance, making enough of an impression on the judge's to secure her and her trainer--a gentleman by the name of Austin--the first move in the next round. He found no fault in the judge's decision, and in fact watched expectantly as Buns--an apt nickname--started them off with a tackle. The brunette, seeing an opportunity, thumbed the brim of his hat before sending Gavant out past the curtains and into the audience's field of vision. "Let's Bulldoze past the competition," Taz encouraged, a playful frown of his own his reward for such a pun. "Before using Take Down."
Word choice aside, Gavant did as he was instructed and rolled himself into a ball and rocketing ahead, bypassing Buns just as she backed away from the stage. He was careful enough to not actually touch the other pokemon, but a surprise appearance from behind was enough to startle her, and while she recovered Gavant moved on. Getting dangerously to the end of the stage, he unfurled himself at the last possible second and landed on both feet, emitting a low, guttural sound as he settled back into his, natural, hulking position.

✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ Buns the Lopunny
Austin expected a good startling maneuver from Taz and Gavant; Tough contests had many moves like that in place, and they were hard to counter. Unfortunately, Buns had no such safeguards, and flubbed, losing some interest from the judges. But Austin didn't waver just yet. He had to keep his confidence up for Buns. The judges awarded Taz and Gavant the start of the next display of moves, so Buns stood next to her coordinator for the mean time.
Buns crossed her arms and her ears as the large Chesnaught showed off his strength with a mighty take down. A highly appealing move, that was certain, but it didn't give off as much excitement as other moves. That's when a prime opportunity arrived. As soon Gavant finished up, Austin gave his next coordination to Buns. Impressive, but where's the flair? Buns, show them what we mean with a fiery display!" With a quick dash forward, Buns made it center stage before sending a fire punch uppercut into the air. And, right at the apex of the jump, the maiden's blessing kicked in, adding some dazzling light to the move. The audience ate it up, having been pumped up from the last few moves that had been shown. And, despite Austin's worries, they cemented the beginning of the next turn.
Austin wasn't quite sure on what move to do next, but Buns seemed adamant about going for another tackle. "Well, you're the boss, I suppose," he replied cheerfully. Buns did a tackle, stopping a foot away from Gavant in an attempt to throw shade on the enemy.

Gavant, without eyebrows, could only give the impression of raising an eyebrow in Buns' direction. He kept his emotions in check however, and glanced directly behind the pokemon to the cheering crowd. "Show off your Hammer Arm," Taz suggested, above the noise, hoping to regain the audience's attention. The giant happily obliged, and leaped into the air, extended his left arm out, and landed with a solid attack to the floorboards directly in front of Buns. The thunderous sound left the audience silent, for but a few mere seconds, but Taz reacted quickly and directed Gavant, "Bulldoze." As the roar of the crowd filled the air, Gavant pulled his arm back, straightened his back up, and lunged menacingly towards Buns. He stopped, when they were but inches apart, and snapped his teeth at her, the action evolving into a sneer.

Things were really starting to heat up on the stage. "Things are really starting to heat up on the stage!" the announcer shouted redundantly. "Our newcomers are hanging in well so far, but- oh my goodness, Gavant has showed Buns what he's got with a wicked Hammer Arm!" The whole stage shook when the Chesnaught landed, and Buns and Austin both had to brace themselves against the shockwave. "Steady, Buns! Austin warned, having to shout over the thunderous applause. It was clear that Taz and Gavant got the start of the final turn, and they quickly acted on it with another Bulldoze. Buns looked frightened as the larger Poke'mon came barreling towards her, and the judges noticed. However, Austin refused to acknowledge it. Instead, he focused completely on the space between Buns and Gavant as it quickly dissipated. "Steady.... And then, Gavant was mere inches from Buns.
"Buns! Step back and let him have it!" Buns took a single step back, bracing herself, and glared right back at Gavant as she thrust both of her ears forward, covered in searing flame. But, like any good performer, she stopped close to her opponent's face as well. But, Maiden's Blessing took hold once more, putting an extra punch to the flames. While Gavant wouldn't be hurt, his beardlike fur got pretty singed. There was silence for a pregnant moment, but then, applause. Roaring applause. Thunderous Applause. Even Austin cheered for Buns, who kept her composure much better, and only smirked as she sauntered away, arms still crossed. "Holy MIltank, ladies and gentlemen! This is one for the books! But let's calm it down while the judges make their final decision."
Austin and Buns waited offstage with Taz and Gavant, waiting patiently for the judge's verdict. Well, most of them were. Austin was standing straight, arms crossed, but he incessently tapped his finger against his arm as his mind ran through the possible results. We could've won, maybe, but on the second turn we could've used Low Kick...but then what about the Hammer Arm? The suspense is killing me! Snapping him out of it was the announcer, calling the contestants back to the stage. Austin swallowed his nervousness, and joined the rest. The Judges were on stage as well, and the head judge stepped up to a single microphone stand. "After careful deliberation, the panel and myself have reached a final score for this Toughness Contest." She pulled a notecard out of her pocket, along with the coveted Tre Ribbon for the contest. And then, she read the results. "Taz and his Chesnaught Gavant received an impressive final score of 56!" The audience applauded the well-deserving team of Taz and Gavant. "And Austin and Buns earned a final score of...60! Our winners for this afternoon's Tre Ribbon Toughness Contest are Buns, and her Coordinator, Austin Tucksworth!" The crowd applauded the winners, and Austin was speechless for a moment. ..."we won?" Buns snapped him out of it by whacking him on the back of the head before hugging his leg. The realization hit him, and Austin beamed, and hugged Buns back. "You did so well, Buns! I knew you could do it!" Buns blushed, and hid her face behind her big ears. Austin made sure to shake hands with Taz before accepting the ribbon for Buns (even though all he could think was You lose, loser! In your dumb stupid face! YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!) Austin then carefully pinned the Tre Ribbon to Buns' cape, and she jumped up and down in excitement.
But Austin stood still, and looked out to the audience. He couldn't help but keep smiling. "I made it," he whispered to himself. "I finally made it."

After the last round came to its flashy end, Taz motioned for Gavant to join him backstage as the judges tallied up their points and decided on a winner. He reached up to pat the pokemon's singed fur, and held a wry smile as Gavant grumbled to himself and stared off into space. When the two coordinators were called back up to the stage, Taz had assessed the damage and determined it to be.. mild, they could just clip the ends and wait for the fur to grow back naturally; until then, they'd simply brush it so that the change wouldn't be noticeable. The young man kept himself still, and from playing with his hat, as the MC read off the results, and then announced Austin and Buns as the winner. Taz smiled, genuinely, and then turned towards the blonde to applaud both him and his pokemon, Gavant joining in as well. "Congratulations, you two were great out there," he complimented as the two went in for a handshake. Afterwards, with less attention on him, the brunette began to fiddle with his hat before he turned to Gavant, and gestured for him to follow him off stage.
