Temperance listened with some interest to Dallas' tale of fighting off a Hex Maniac. While she'd never heard of that sort of person before, she surmised it must of been something like a witch or hagraven. In the end she was left to shake her head. "No, the incense I lit was in the Pokemon center's bathroom." She stated. "I'll be more careful from now on." She added, only repeating to herself what she'd already said to herself earlier. "Regardless, it is good to hear you managed to take down that person. It's easy to see without even knowing your Pokemon are strong." Temperance added, giving a smile to Susan. What they lacked in strength, Susan gained in intimidation.
As Daphnes finished off the Litwick, and then a Gastly the small dragon turned to face Dallas as he approached. The angry looking dragon seemed to hold himself up taller as Dallas gave his evaluation of him and Azalev. The Prinplup at his side nodded his head, holding up a fin over his chest. "Prin!" It stated proudly. Temperance stepped over, kneeling down herself to run a hand along Daphnes head, then across Azalev's. She gave a nod to Dallas as his compliments turned to her. "I should say the same of you. It's understandable in your chosen path that making your Pokemon look a certain way could take away from other aspects, but from what I've seen, your Pokemon are very well taken cared of." Temperance chose her words rather finely there, trying to keep in mind that Dallas for the most part was not Austin, so as such... talks of contests and making Pokemon pretty wasn't going to work in public. "Azalev, are you prepared for our upcoming battle. It won't be quiet the same as those Ghost Pokemon, but I am sure you're going to win with little trouble." The proud Prinplup puffed out his chest and nodded sharply. "Prinplup!" He announced, once more crossing a fin across his chest.

Though Dallas appreciated Tamara's careful tiptoeing, he didn't quite care for the (albeit benign) insinuation that his Pokemon might not be the best at fighting. He might have been reading it wrong, as he was oft to do. "Trust me, my crew isn't just a bunch of pretty faces," he popped off. "Anybody can make a Pokemon look a certain way in peak conditions, but we can rumble and look good at the same time!" As hotheaded as ever, Dallas had a strange urge to prove that he could back up his claim. And they were heading to a gym, after all... "As a matter of fact, lemme show you what I'm talkin' about. Let's go." Dallas lead the way to the Oreburgh Gym, walking quickly. Susan trailed behind, slightly confused. So, we badge collectors now? she asked. I thought we were ribbon collectors!
Dallas never did answer Susan's question, nor did he speak until they made it to the Oreburgh Gym. And there, already prepared for his next challengers was the Gym Leader, Roark. "Hey there, challenger! I'm Roark, and I'm-"
"Yo, save it for your rock polishing kit," Dallas called back. He took the time to take positions while Roark took a moment to give Dallas a look of incredulity. "Um...okay, you're obviously eager for a fight, aren't you? Well then, do your best!"
The battle started off with a showdown between Roark's Geodude and Dallas' Meloetta. Meloetta wasn't too keen on fighting another Geodude so soon, but she and Dallas had a sturdy strategy to deal with the little rock Pokemon. Meloetta used Sing to place it under asleep and hit it with confusion for good measure, and, just in case it woke up ready to start flinging stones, Meloetta sacrificed a weak attack to switch to her Pirouette Forme, to make her more hardy. It turned out to be for naught, as Geodude never got a chance to wake up. It seems my song sufficed for this engagement, Meloetta said. She ended her combat with a proper bow before returning to Dallas' pokeball.
"Say, maybe you're not all talk, guy!" Roark said enthusiastically. "But lets see how you handled something bigger than you?" Dallas only smirked when the Onix appeared, roaring as it showed off its large body. "Heh. Yeah, okay, tough guy.If you're gonna compensate for something, just buy a car like a normal guy." The jab caught Roark off guard, so he barely even noticed when Dallas sent Buns into the fray, already rushing towards the Onix with a Low Kick. "Crud! Onix! Dodge it-" But, it was too late. In one fluid motion, the bunny had gotten close enough to use her powerful ears to sweep the Onix off-balance, sending it crashing to the ground in a puff of smoke and dust. It was out cold by the time the dust settled. "Next." While Dallas feigned boredom and squatted down, Buns hopped over to him and gave him a 'good job' pat on the back.
With only one more Pokemon left, Roark sent out the prehistoric Pokemon, Cranidos. "Hey, now that's pretty impressive," Dallas said. "Takes a lot of time to train a fossil Pokemon. Let's see if you did a good job!" For this last fight, Susan took the field, already knowing that was her trainer's attention. Any orders, Dalpha? Dallas nodded, and simply said. "Power up, and we'll try out the new move we've been talking about." Susan's feral eyes twinkled for a moment before she let out her battle cry. Susan, GOOOOO! Susan took a moment to use Calm Mind, getting ready to try out something new. However, Cranidos and Roark went on the offense with Pursuit, which hit Susan very hard. Susan growled and instinct kicked in as she fired of a premature Moonblast at Cranidos. It hit hard, but it only ended up making sure that the next Pursuit hit true, sending Susan flying. "Susan, get it together!" Dallas stood up then as he issued the order, and Susan caught her footing as she levitated back to the ground, panting. "Get ready! Let's see what that dumb stone of ours can do!" Following the footwork and hand motions, Dallas held his hand to his head like he was mind reader, and pointed towards Cranidos. Suddenly, Susan felt powered up as she fired off humungus amount of Psychic energy at Cranidos, propelling it into multiple psychic barriers along the way. It ended in smashing into a giant psychic barrier that shattered. There was no doubt about it; Susan was victorious.
And with that, Dallas defeated Roark. "Well, it looks like I've been beat!" Roark sighed, but he didn't seem upset. "Gotta say, you have some real moves! I have no problem saying that you rock! Here, take this!" Dallas took the badge, and smirked as she walked away from the battlefield. He was more interested in seeing what Tamara thought. "Not too shabby for a bunch of contest Pokemon, huh?"

Temperance's choice of words, in retrospect likely came out wrong. As it seemed to her that Dallas took her critique badly, perhaps though it was just the hotheadedness she'd picked up from her personality. The phrase was 'takes on to know one' after all, right? "I didn't mean anything bad by-" She was cut off as Dallas proclaimed he'd show her his Pokemon's strength first hand, walking away far to quickly for her to stop him and correct herself. With a soft huff, the blonde followed after him to the gym.
The battle was quick and fierce, albeit a bit one-sided. She listened closely to the banter between the gym leader, Roark and Dallas. Dallas' banter for the most part went over Temperance's head. She was used to a different kind of what people would call 'trash talk'. Even if she was to be trained like a soldier, like a knight, the fact that she was still a princess kept some men and woman biting their tongues and pulling their punches. It was annoying, which made this sort of banter all the more entertaining. Dallas certainly seemed the type who didn't care to pull punches, perhaps testing his own fighting capabilities was next on the table. After she challenged Roark that is. "Yes, not bad at all. You team is certainly all double-sided blades indeed." Temperance commented when Dallas' attention was back on her. "But as I was saying before you came here to show off, I never said your Pokemon were weak or anything of the sort, in fact I strictly remember saying they looked strong, there was no need to prove yourself to me." With a quick smile, the blonde stepped forward, taking her place in the challengers corner.
"I have also come to challenge you, I will wait for you to be ready." Temperance called out. At first the rock-type gym leader seemed hesitant. Temperance, much like Dallas certainly didn't give the impression that they were rookies when it came to batting with Pokemon or fists. "Sure thing." Roark replied. Stepping away, the male quickly had his Pokemon healed, then returned with a fully recharged team. Temperance had already sent Azalev forward. The Prinplup, having the time to study the rough terrain was more than prepared to battle. "I am Tamara Stonewall, let us begin!" Temperance called out. She was certainly getting used to her fake name at least. Roark nodded, tossing forward a pokeball to reveal his first Pokemon; a Geodude.
Azalev took the lead, Keeping his distance with the use of a long string of bubbles that swiftly crossed the field and pelted the Geodude into submission. Roark narrowed his gaze. Seeing Temperance with a Water-type had him already feeling this battle was going to be rocky. Calling back the Geodude, he sent forward an Onix next. "You're smart to have brought a water-type to this gym, but we won't fall that easily!" Roark barked across the field, but the fact of the matter was, Azalev was far stronger that any of the Pokemon Roark could sent their way. "We shall see. Azalev, let's test your meatle." Temperance replied. Azalev nodded, replying with a sharp 'Prin' Holding up a fin, the Penguin clad it in a metallic substance. using the left over moister of his bubbles, the penguin slid across the ground, not at all bothered by the small rocks that riddled the ground. At the last moment, the penguin bounced upward, slamming his fin into the Onix. The giant rock snake recoiled some, it's body shaking the earth as it recovered from the powerful move. "Toss some rocks at that Prinplup to slow it down!" Roark called out. The onix used it's tail to send a few medium sized boulders across the field. Azalex sliced his metal clad fin at the boulders, breaking them in halves, eventually the rock-rain stopped, allowing Azalev a clear path to the Onix, to which he once more slammed his fin to the rock snakes body, felling it. Though seamless as his moves seemed, Azalev wasn't trained, using that tactic had been risky, it resulted in him sustaining damage to his fin, rendering it useless for the remainder of the battle. Good thing he had water on his side.
Roark sent forward his final Pokemon. The Craniados Temperance had seen before during Dallas' bout. "Azalev, rest your fins, end this with some hydration!" Temperance called out. Azalev nodded, sucking in air once more. "Caniados, prepare yourself use a boulder to protect you from the bubbles!" Roark called out. "Who said anything about using Bubblebeam!?" Temperance called out. "Rocks won't do you any good with this next move. Alright Azalev, end this!" Roark was left flabbergasted as Azalev unleashed a powerful torrent of water that not only hit the Cranidos fainting it instantly, but it also left most of the field flooded.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah," Dallas replied. "Maybe you did, maybe you didn't. But I gotta tell ya, I wasn't doing it to impress you. I just make sure to back up what I front." It was mostly truthful, most of the sudden surge to battle being left up to simple hotheaded backlash. But maybe he did want to impress Tamara. Maybe it was because he felt...bad about deceiving her? Maybe.
It didn't matter, as it was Tamara's time to battle. "Alright, Fancy Girl, let's see what you got!" Dallas watched the fight with Susan, who was busy tinkering with their shiny new badge. Yeah, yeah, Stoneywall fight Rock Man! From a battle standpoint, Tamara was no slouch. As far as Dallas was concerned, she knew what she was doing, and she did it rather well. The battle seemed even more one-sided than his own as Azalev punched through the competition. However, in the speech department, there was much to be desired. "End this with some hydration?" Dallas jeered his pupil with a mocking laugh. 'You really couldn't think of anything better than-" Dallas stopped speaking as the Prinplup fired a huge blast of water at Rourk's Cranidos. He also had to stand up from his crouched position, as his butt would've gotten soaked in the water the splashed all over in the final move. Don't need good words when you can do that. huh Dalpha? Dallas couldn't argue with that.
He went to give Tamara some backhanded compliment, when his phone vibrated in his pocket. "Hm? Maybe that's... Dallas pulled out his phone, and there it was. A text from Naomi. Red hit the thug's cheeks as he opened up his messaging app. He read over it carefully, trying not to smile and failing completely. Always with the questions! Classic Naomi... It seemed that Naomi was doing well. He had gotten started on the Alola equivalent to a badge run, and it was currently looking for something called a 'totem pokemon'. And the real kicker, he was proud of Dallas for staying out of trouble. Dallas wished it wasn't only half true, but he was trying harder. He quickly composed himself to send back a reply.

Once the text was sent (which was a pain to write, as Dallas hated having to type like a complete idiot to keep up with his rep) he let out a contented sigh and went back to chastising/praising Tamara. "Good job, you beat a guy when you had a massive advantage! As for your speech, we'll have to work pretty hard. Nobody says 'mettle' anymore. You got better near the end, though, so yeah, you're not a complete failure." Susan was more kind, and added, Now we both have shiny badge! Good work, Stonywall and Azalev!

Temperance's battle in the bag, the blonde did find herself rather soaked to the ankle thanks to Azalev's attack, but in the end it wasn't for naught; they'd won. "Good work, Azalev." Temperance called out, meeting the Prinplup on the field. Thankfully the battleground had an exceptional draining system, leaving the ground wet but not in puddles. "Why don't you rest for awhile? It will be some time before we reach the next city." Azalev nodded, but still refused to go into his ball. "Don't push yourself. If your to tired to continue walking, tell me. I won't think you weak at all." Patting Azalev's head the blonde then stood up and appraoched Roark for her spoils. Accepting her badge and other assorted goodies, Temperance headed back to Dallas while she placed her things into her bag. She had in mind his commentary during the battle, poking fun at her way of speaking. She did agree, that line was a bit... silly, but it did it's job in making Roark put down his guard thinking it was merely another Bubble Beam. She also noticed Dallas typing something out one what she could only guess was a phone. Speaking of which, As she was placing her Tm/HM case back into her bag, a rumble made her look down. Her own phone was now sorting a message.
At first Temperance stopped in her tracks, staring at the device as it's screen lit up and it continued to rumble. Who had this number? Umbra maybe, but unless some sort of emergency happened, Umbra was not meant to ever contact her, she was to contact Umbra. Gripping the phone, she pulled it out to see the rumble had indicated she had a message; from Yukie. Her eyes scanned the message, picking up key words. She wasn't entirely a speed reader, but once she saw the word 'king' it made her read faster. In the end she deleted the message. What was she suppose to say? Though she was told by this person that they'd deflected from her Uncle's rein, was she really to trust them? Her grip tightened on the device, thumb hovering over the keypad.

Sending a smirk towards Dallas as the male made used a very, very old way of talking she shook her head. "We are not that old fashioned. But some old words are still used." She replied. Returning Azalev just before Dallas returned Susan, the male mentioned that Eterna was on the way to his own next destination. Seemed she was going to have a travel companion for a bit longer. Well, it only made sense that her teacher be traveling with her. "Splended. We can work on my language on the way there." She replied with a smile. With that, Temperance followed Dallas out of the gym and joined him at his side as they made way towards Eterna City.

When was the last time Gavyn was able to sleep this well? So well, in fact, that he had overslept much more than usual. For nearly twelve full hours! Merlin was going out of his mind with boredom, only having the eerie Juniper for company while he waited for his trainer to wake up. Some time in the afternoon, the brunette finally stirred, stretching and moving to sit up slowly. "O-oh... oh dear... how long was I sleeping for?" He eventually asked, rubbing the sleep from his eyes before putting on his glasses. It seemed like it was getting dark out.
"Fufufufu~ How unfortunate that he lives to see another day~" Juniper chimed, her chipper tone not matching her words. The clefairy paused to stare at the decidueye in disbelief and confusion before looking over to Gavy. "You've slept all day, Gavy. While you were sleeping, I went for a stroll and met this decidueye and she followed me back..." Merlin told Gavyn, explaining things. "I have forseen our long companionship, you poor unlucky soul~ My name is Juniper!" she chimed in to introduce herself, feathers ruffling as she moved closer, head turning this way and that. "Decidueye. The Arrow Quill pokemon. It's a ghost and grass type so it's right up your ally." Data chimed in from the pokedex, startling Gavyn so much that he fell to the floor off his bed in a rush to jump to his feet. Will he ever get used to that pokemon speaking to him through that device? Probably not.
After calming down somewhat, Gavyn accepted Juniper as part of his team, moving into the bathroom to shower before getting dressed and leaving the room to get something to eat. Before he had nearly gone into a coma, he had been planning to see about challenging the gym in town. He had been told that he wouldn't be able to get any HMs from the other regions, since it was here in Sinnoh where he registered and picked Beth. So even though he had three badges under his belt from Kanto, he still didn't have any of the HMs needed for making traveling easier. The spectacled male mulled over this quietly to himself as he retrieved some safe looking food - a salad once again - and sat down to eat.

After eating, Gavyn left the pokemon center, and even though it seemed like it was getting kind of late, he approached the gym with some coaxing from Merlin. "See Gavy? It's still open. I'm sure you can finish a battle quickly - he's got rock types." Merlin pointed out, only getting a nervous mumble and a nod from the trainer. The scrawny male then entered and made a meek challenge to the gym leader. "I-I'm here to e-earn my badge, i-if that's okay..."
The battle started with Juniper against a Geodude, and after the damage she took in that first round, she was swapped out for Amber, the Aerodactyl that had gotten him here in the first place. Luckily, Amber handled herself pretty well, taking care of the rest of the battle quite easily.

Gavyn was surprised how well the gym battle had gone. He still wasn't all that familiar with Juniper or Amber, so he was admittedly expecting to either have to fall back and depend on Elizabeth or Merlin, or lose terribly. The sheepish male accepted the win quietly, receiving his badge and some discs before leaving the gym. Of course, he went directly to the pokecenter to heal up his pokemon before deciding to rest until the next day.
In the morning, he left the pokemon center with Merlin and Juniper by his side, trying to figure out where he should be headed next. He supposed he would have to continue challenging gyms in this region. Unfortunately, he was highly unfamiliar with Sinnoh and where he should be going, leaving him nervously bumbling about in front of the pokecenter as Merlin looked into checking a map.

Oreburgh City was predominantly a mining town and it showed. Nothing but rocks and dirt and machinery; all the fine necessities needed to keep up the operations the town was known for. Which made it all the harder to believe anyone would hide out here; what, might his quarry be working in the mines? People would know; you didn’t get to just work undocumented. That was a safety issue.
They touched down and Ashley swiftly hopped off the back of Odilon’s back, taking in the sights briefly. He had absolutely no faith in this lead at all. But he (at the moment) did get to argue. For now. He double checked the message again and noted the points of interest. There was the mines (of course), a gym (no) and… hm.. A museum? Maybe that’d work. Of course in this moment, Ashley couldn’t be bothered to go searching on his own. So he took the next step; find someone to ask. Walking towards the pokemon center (an excellent place to start) he sported a tall bespeckled string bean of a fellow apparently lost in thought. He didn’t exactly look a native, but well you had to start somewhere right?

Gavyn was staring at the map Merlin had given him, fidgeting. So, it looked like he'd have to travel north somehow, to some place called Eterna City. That would be where he could get his next badge in this region. "This region certainly has quite a few mountains." Gavy commented to himself, dreading the hike he'd have to take to get to the next city. As terrifying as it had been, things would have been easier if he had been able to fly there on Amber instead. But alas, he lacked the method to learn the move Fly. "Oh, how dreadful the hike will be~" Juniper chirped cheerfully beside Gavyn, standing at about only about a foot shorter than the tall male. "Juni, you worry me sometimes..." Merlin commented, the little clefairy holding a hand on one hip as he stared up at the owl. His attention eventually moved on to someone approaching.
The map nearly crumpled in his grasp as someone approached all of a sudden, asking for directions. As much as he tried not to be, he was still a bit jumpy in this age when people approached, even though this man did leave a respectful amount of distance from him. "O-oh... The museum. I think it is just around the corner from here, in the northern part of the city.I-i can walk you there, if you would prefer... I am heading in that direction." Gavyn replied, fidgeting with the map to fold it back up and tuck into his bag. Juniper tilted her head all the way to the side, observing the black haired bespectacled male in curiosity. But ultimately, if she had a comment, she didn't share it this time. Merlin couldn't help but feel relieved by that.
