By that time, it was heading towards late afternoon, and it seemed like it would be a good time to stop for the night. There was a clearing, just big enough for a small camp. Near the northern side of the clearing, there was an interesting sight: a large, mud-caked statue lied half-buried in the dirt. Someone (or a group of someones) had left their mark on the statue with grafitti, with notes like "Crap" and "Mark Sux" and some profanities. "Whoa, that's pretty dope," Dallas commented. He shouldered off his duffle bag, and let out Riptide. He landed on the ground with a thud, and glared up at Dallas. "Yo, Riptide, how about you make us a hole for a fire?:" The shark grunted, and sank his jaws into the earth, making a sizable hole. The shark flung the dirt over to the side, and Dallas gave him some 'good job' pats. "Well, let's get some firewood and crap, and get this camp up n' running, Tam."

Their path set, it was only a matter of time before the duo found themselves within Eterna Forest. Admittedly, Temperance hadn't ventured often to the woods on the western boarder of her country. There really had been no reason to visit those woods, as they were home to the La'Ten People, people who still held a mild grudge against her ancestors for having chased them form their homeland. This being noted, traveling forests weren't her strong suit, which made her feel lucky to be with Dallas who seemed to know just what he was doing and where he was going. Leaving Temperance up to picking the music for their journey she chose one of the bands she'd favored during her music listening shower. "They call themselves Nightwish, I find some of their songs very nice." She noted after picking a specific song called 'The Islander' "I know this might not suit your... taste in music though." She noted. She wouldn't entirely mind if he choose to change it. These songs just sort of reminded her of bards, who scarcely ever visited the castle, and even when they did it her father wanted them to only play instrumental songs.
As they listened to the music, Dallas made a note about picking someone to admire and follow in their steps. "Sort of like a mimic?" She replied. "I understand that much. When I was younger I tried my hardest to mimic the female knights mentioned in books... there were few of them talked about in good fortune, as back then.. and even today, females in a position owned by men are looked down upon." Temperance turned her gaze to Dallas. "I'm sure Austin gets the occasional... a*****e, pointing out that co-coordinating is for girls?" She had noted the lack of male images in the few Contest posters back at the Pokemon Center. It wasn't entirely unbelievable to have at least one person point out old-fashioned views on gender roles.
Several hours later and the forest around them was growing darker. It was nearly sundown, so when they came to a stop in a clearing, the though of making camp was reciprocated between Dallas and Temperance. However before the actual setting up of camp commenced, Dallas pointed out a statue that appeared to have been sunken into the ground. On the statue various noted of ill-mannered drawings and word were littered across it. "If dope means distasteful, then yes, it is dope." Temperance replied turning her gaze to Dallas with a 'joking' look in her eyes. "No, Dallas it isn't dope at all. Someone put a lot of time and effort into making that statue and to disgrace it it horrible." She continued on. "Not to be a stick-in-the-mud." Looking away for a moment, she called out Azalev and motioned towards the statue. "Azalev could you clear off that statue of the mud?" She inquired. "I'm going to find some firewood." With that, Azalev complied squirting bits of water at the statue and occasionally brushing up against it with his thick coat of feathers. While the graffiti was harder to get off, the mud itself was soon taken off leaving a clean statue behind. At this time Temperance had returned with a couple thick branches and some smaller branches perfect for starting a fire with. Releasing Epona and Daphnes to join them, it wouldn't be long before they could start up a fire to stay off the chill of the night.

Dallas had shrugged his shoulders at Tamara's comments on women today. "I dunno, it just sorta seems like an excuse that's made when someone just so happens to be whatever, and they didn't get what they wanted," he replied. "Personally, I don't give a s**t what you're packing downstairs. If you don't succeed, it's cuz you suck, you didn't try, or you expected to get it. An' lemme tell ya, sister, I didn't get nothing handed to me but a bunch of kicks in the a**." As he spoke, he started to rummage through his bag for whatever food he had: some canned goods, rummaged from his Alolan BnB, plenty of Pokemon food, and a bottle of whiskey he had swiped before leaving the Winter Gala. Not too bad. "And I'll have you know, one of the first real coordinator leaders was a guy named Amuary Silva, and he just so happens to be my inspiration, so yeah. Screw that, "it's for girls, it's for boys" bull." To back up his claim, he would set out a very old Coordinator Culture magazine that had Mr. Silva on the front cover, the caption: "A look back at one of the greats: Amuary Silva." Those with even a dull eye could easily tell that Austin dressed and held himself in very much the same was Silva, down to the style of suit.Those with a keen eye would noticed that the magazine was labeled "Goldenrod Juvenile Corrcetional: Do not remove from Library."
The thug didn't comment on Tamara's disdain for the statue and its rad graffiti; he should've seen her reaction coming a mile away, after all. But, at a glance it seemed like the tags were to remain, having been there for Arceus knows how long. Instead, he let his team loose, instructing Beltigre to help Epona and Daphnes in getting the fire started. Dallas then brought over the food he had, and started doling out Pokemon food for everybody. "Alright, you guys eat up- hey, no shoving, Duchess! Plenty to go around." With the crew sedated with food (and Riptide kept calm with some leftover silverware from the gala), Dallas finally plopped down on the grass around the fire, and tried to decide on what he was gonna eat. "Okay, I got corned beef, cream-chipped beef, Toad's Cream-chipped beef/corned beef combo...chicken noodle it is." After getting the lid off of the can and tearing off the label, Dallas carefully placed the can up against the fire.
Though the path from Floaroma to Eterna Forest wasn't a long one, Opal was panting by the time she finally found her 'ward'. She felt faint, was seeing stars, and needed to lay down for at least thirty minutes. With one hand on her hip, Jinx, who paid no mind to Opal or her 'plight', scanned the forest floor eagerly for sign of the creature who'd she'd lost sight of not soon after she'd stepped underneath the canopy of trees. Which, wasn't great. Although she hadn't seen its full figure, the blue-haired woman had caught a glimpse of it, and it'd been a shade of green -- the same shade, in fact, as most of the plant life within the forest, so it could camouflage.
Not to be perturbed by this setback, Jinx stepped closer to the nearest underbrush and began parting leaves apart to start her search. Directly behind her Opal watched her, chest rising and failing at a rapid rate in an attempt to keep from passing out from oxygen deprivation. While this was far from what they were supposed to be doing, and a large waste of time, the Slowking was far too focused on staying conscious to raise a complaint. Hopefully the future didn't hold anymore extensive runs for them, or else she'd have to retire early; pokemon like her weren't meant for heavy cardio! She was still careful to follow through with her job description: watching Jinx, and watched as the grown woman moved about and searched the greenery with the determination of a five year old who'd just lost their toy.
Opal cocked her head to the side, took a cautious step forward, and tried to peer past Jinx when she stopped abruptly. "Did you fi--" A squeal of pain interrupted her sentence, right before a small pokemon was flung backwards and in her direction. "No." Her response curt, she straightened up and proceeded to begin wading through the brush; she was getting nowhere just searching the edges. "Deal with that." 'That' was a, now angry, Wurmple, who hadn't appreciated being, literally, tossed to the side. Opal stared at the creature, empathizing with it, but unwilling to allow it to take its frustrations out on her. "Of course, sure. Why not." She muttered quietly to herself, offhandedly sending a psychic attack to send the Wurmple several feet back in the opposite direction to the left of her in the meantime. Quickly realizing how out-matched it was, it whimpered before crawling away as fast as it could.
They were both having a bad day.

Temperance nodded. She couldn't agree more. Gender roles were something that was far to obsolete a concept to be utilized in modern society. Sadly, the fact of the matter where you went there were still specified roles for females and males of which made it difficult for the opposite gender to get their food in the door. Temperance aimed to change this when she could rightfully take the throne. Her own country was sadly of the worse she'd seen in terms of gender roles. If only more people thought like Dallas. "Is this true? That is a fascinating fact." Temperance replied when Dallas spoke of a famous coordinator. Picking up the magazine Dallas presented, Temperance gave the cover a look over, gazing up at Dallas... she had noticed the label on the front cover, but seeing as it wouldn't make much of a difference to bring it up she returned her gaze to the Magazine.
Once they'd settled down at the camp, it wasn't long before the fire was brought to life, giving off a much needed warmth in the chilly summer night that was quickly approaching. Truth be told, Temperance had never camped under the stars quiet like this. She was used to sleeping in a large tent that could easily fit about 2o people, or in a hotel or Pokemon Center. As it grew darker, and the fire was left as the only source of light aside from Epona's flame, she found herself.... tranquil. She passed the time flipping through Dallas' magazine, until she heard a ruckus erupt across the camp. Looking up from the magazine she smiled at Dallas who was trying to give everyone some pokefood, before settling down himself to pick out something to eat. "If you want something more than soup, I have dried meat, as well as some dried fruit mixed with nuts." Temperance offered, fishing from her bag various smaller baggies of assorted snacks. For herself, she picked out what appeared to be a dried white meat. For Azalev she tossed over some dried fish, Daphnes took some dried red meat, while Din snatched up a package of dried berries to eat. Epona, easily ripped up some grass to munch on while she rested beside Temperance. Though the chicken noodle did sound kind of nice, the blonde didn't really feel like imposing on Dallas' food supplies. Her own supplies could easily be replenished after a quick walk through of some overgrowth.
Though, of course dried foods left little in the terms of moisture in the mouth, so Temperance quickly returned to her bag to pull out her canteen of water, only for her hand to graze something leathery. Looking down she pulled out what appeared to be a goat-skin canteen. "Umbra..." The blonde signed, pursing her lips for a moment. How had she not noticed this until now? Uncorking the canteen she held it to her nose and smelled it some... it was just what she thought it was. Gazing over to Dallas she gave him a grin. Well, Dallas likely wouldn't judge her for it. Taking a swig, she offered the corked it and held out the goat-skin. "Want some?" She inquired. "It's mead, something you might not be familiar with." She added. A far cry from the wine they'd shared at the gala, it was still a good sharing drink. This one though had an almost apple cider taste to it. As it was mixed Apple Juice and Honey fermented with a small variety of berries that gave the mead a sweet taste. One thing about sweet things though, they seemed to attract unwanted attention. Namely a Beautifly that ventured into the camp, swooping in close to Temperance, Daphnes took to the offense, snapping at the bug with fire in his maw... and maybe a bit of jealousy in his eyes.

Dallas smiled as he shook his head, declining Tamara's offer. "Thanks, but I'm good with my stuff." As a matter of fact, he his soup was already starting to steam, having been so close to the fire. With a little help from Beltigre (who could handle the heat a lot better than Dallas could), the coordinator started in on his dinner. Though, Susan continued to inch closer and closer to Tamara's much nicer food before casually accepting some mixed fruit. Dallas furrowed his brow, and called out to Susan. "Oy!" Susan jumped a little, and looked like a pup that just wet the carpet. But Dalpha's food is dry and boring... Dallas scoffed, and shook his head. "What do you say to Tam, Sue?" Susan looked up at the other human, and smiled her toothy smile Thankoo, Stoneywall! Is best! Well, next to Dalpha, of course! She then proceeded to tear at the package with her teeth. Dallas got a good laugh out of that, and snickered even more when she finally got it open and the contents spilled all over. Ack! My fruity nummies! She scrambled to find all of the morsels.
Once the soup cooled off enough, Dallas held the can up to his mouth and drank it up. It was good enough for him, but definitely salty. So, when Tamara offered him a drink, he accepted. "Mead, huh? Isn't that some sorta old-timey drink? I swear, you grew up in the Middle Ages or something." He took a swig nevertheless, and was pleasantly surprised at the sweet smoothness of it. "That's good s**t," he commented. He was ready to go for a second swig, but a shake of the canteen made it clear there wasn't a whole lot to go around. "Well, it's not as good as this mead stuff, but I got someone I can share." Dallas reached over into his bag, and pulled out a fancy bottle of whisky, and a couple of cups. "Yeah, I took a souvenir from the gala," he explained, a chuckle leaving him. But hey, it's not like they were strapped for anything around there, anyways." He passed over a cup with a few shots-worth of booze for Tamara and poured himself some. "Cheers! To getting a second badge, and talking less like a spaz, food and friends, all that crap." He took a good drink, and it was tasty, but definitely had a harsher kick than the mead.
Meanwhile, Meloetta had snuck away to train. She was still feeling bad about losing, and wasn't going to let it happen again. So, she took it upon herself to trot off into the woods to look for some opponents. Have at you, foe! She had challenged a burmy, that was getting territorial about its tree. And, much to Meloetta's delight, she took it out rather quickly. Phew! Not too bad, Meloetta...But I need some more training! She would go off to find someone else to challenge.

While Dallas didn't seem interested in any of the dried foods Temperance had, Susan eventually made her way over snatching up one of the bags. The way Dallas prompted Susan to thank her, reminded her of the way a parent would scold a child. Susan was somewhat like a child, so it all fit. "Your Welcome, Susan. I'm more than happy to share." She replied. Tossing another bag of dried fruits and nuts over to Susan, Temperance then set to work eating her own dried meats.
Temperance scoffed a laugh when Dallas joked about her growing up in the middle ages, though he did share his like of the drink. "I'll have to take you to a brewery one day. Mead is an old drink, this is true. But it's far more popular in my country than Beer or Wine." She added, taking back the canteen and drinking down the remainder. Clearing her pallet with some water she then accepted Dallas' own offer, once more ignoring the blatant thievery. It wasn't like she was a cop or anything, she had no authority in this country. Not to mention Dallas didn't seem like the type you wanted to piss off by ratting him out to the local authorities. "Agreed, to further success and lasting friendships." She replied. Unlike her current companion, Temperance took a moment to smell the drink she was about to consume before actually drinking it. It didn't smell... bad, just different. She'd never had Whiskey before, she'd hardly had anything other than Mead or Wine actually. He didn't really pour much into the cup anyway, so with one quick swig she downed the entire cup. Big mistake. Temperance lurched forward suddenly, coughing deeply, gasping for breath. "Wh-What was that stuff?!" She seemed to demand between coughing. Grabbing her water canteen she began to chug down it's contents. Before long she leaned back taking several deep breaths. Azalev waddled over, patting Temperance's back gently. Needless to say her throat was now on fire.
Meanwhile, much like the wandering Meloetta, Din had taken to venturing around the forest along with Daphnes. It wasn't long before they both came across a Buneary and a Gastly seemingly arguing about something. The two didn't quite like being interrupted during their seemingly passionate argument and for a the moment being decided to turn their aggression on Daphnes and Din.

Dallas actually fell over when Tamara choked on the whiskey, laughing loudly. "Holy s**t! That was priceless! You shoulda seen your face!" He finally caught his bearing and sat up straight as his laughter subsided. "That, you lightweight, was some Unovan whisky," he finally explained. "Yeah, I guess they don't do anything lightly over there." Dallas swiped up his companion's cup, and poured her another. "Now this time, don't try to pound it like a freakin' psychopath, okay? You might actually get a chance to enjoy it this time around." He got himself another as well, and sipped on it before finishing up his dinner.
Despite his jabs, the whisky was definitely strong stuff, and he felt the effects starting to make him feel nice and warm. "Yup, there it is...I gotta admit, that mead goes down a helluva lot easier, though," Dallas commented. "I'll have to take you up on that brewery deal sometime. You know, once you get s**t over there all figured out." He hoped he wasn't going to bring up a sore subject with Tamara, since she'd mentioned how everything went down. "But yeah, um, in the meantime, at least we got a bottle o' Black City Black Label to take care of!" he said optimistically. "That is, unless you're not up to the challenge!"
Meanwhile, Meloetta continued her training. A Dustox attacked, but Meloetta went through a similar sleep n' sweep technique to put it out. But it was a Buneary that finally landed a hit on the Muse, but not before getting KO'd as well. By the time the fighting was over, Meloetta felt like she'd grown in fighting, experience, but she was tired. Phew...Not bad, Not bad...but, I must get better. Otherwise, Dallas might just leave me aside, just like... The Melody Pokemon sighed, and rested her head in her hands as she hummed. I'll rest a spell, and then I'll try to find my way back.
