As they touched down, Ashley couldn’t help but shiver which brought a look of annoyance to his face. How terrible. Ashley wrapped his arms around his body to try and control the shivers. They’d touched down right near the pokemon center and it was feasible of an idea to simply allow his pokemon to search while he remained in the building to stay warm. Eevee mewled, already hopping through the snow; it appeared she wasn’t fazed by the cold (or at least not yet) and Bastien looked equally annoyed from the cold. Odd, for a fire type.

With that handled, Ashley entered the pokemon center and sat himself at a table in the far corner. It was considerably warmer in here which was right up his alley and once more, he pulled out his computer to continue the work he’d started back in Floaroma. The scan of the Joltik’s pokeball was still up and so he took the time to skim through it. Pokeball information, trainer ID, capture time information along with other minute things riddled the screen and swiftly he scanned through it, picking out the important pieces. There were… quite a few oddities….

Ashley’s brow furrowed some. The ID information was encrypted; not something you’d commonly see with regular trainer information, not even with private individuals. That was usually something reserved for… shadier situations? He scanned a little bit more; the Joltik had been captured a while ago which didn’t appear out of the ordinary. He eyed the information a bit more; hm… the ball appeared normal and yet there seemed to be just the slightest hint of modification to the capsule…that would take a little more digging on his part.
His searching came to a hault about ten or so minutes later when the doors of the center opened and his pokemon skipped in. Eevee was caked in snow, egg held firmly in her mouth. Bastien was covered a bit as well, which caused Ashley to quirk an eyebrow. Exactly what had they been up too? No matter, he shut down his computer for now and tucked his possessions away, retrieving the egg from the pair and returning them for now to their pokeballs to rest.

Considering that the name of Snowpoint City had the name snow in it, Scarlett supposed that she should have expected snow in the city even though it was summertime. Her mind had been otherwise occupied however and went on autopilot when giving her ride charizard directions to the next area and not giving it a second thought. That was, until they drew closer to the city and Scarlett felt the frigid winds blasting her. Scarlett chattered, gripping the sides of her bare arms. "What did you expect?!" Vandal asked pointedly. "I daenno! Summer weather!" She snapped, rushing into the pokemon center shivering. "Excuse me for not payin' attention. It's hard ta hear myself think when ya won't shut up." Pushing past Vandal Scarlett made her way to the front desk to reserve a room for the night, it was late and she was freezing and tired. That soak in the hot springs back in Hoenn would do her some good right about now. Too bad she was in Sinnoh instead.

Vandal shook his head as Scarlett essentially blamed him for her lapse of judgement, stepping inside the center after her and brushing the snowflakes off of his arms. "If I'm so distractin' maybe there's a reason the things I say bother ya." Scarlett rolled her eyes. "Maybe I should skin ya and turn ya into a fur coat. Both of my problems would be solved." Scarlett suggested with a wicked grin. Vandal looked hesitant, wanting to believe she was kidding, but she probably wasn't. "No need to get violent." Vandal sniffed. He should probably feel offended about getting murdered but, it was sort of a compliment, having her want to wear his fur as a coat. That meant it was nice at least, right? "I could just give you a big ol' hug and then you'd warm right up." He suggested, wrapping his arms around Scarlett much to her disgust, shoving him off of her as she trudged towards her room.

Making sure to slam the door in Vandal's face, Scarlett made her way into her room and flopped onto the bed, burying and bundling herself under the covers for warmth. Vandal opened the door again with an unamused expression, making his way inside and locking the door, not bothering to comment. Instead he made himself as comfortable as possible in the chair by the window while Scarlett recovered from the cold shock. Instead, they both ended up falling fast asleep where they were. Scarlett woke up refreshed but groggy, yawning and clinging to the last few remnants of sleep while Vandal sat up and grimaced, his back in pain from sleeping in such an awkward position. He'd thought that Scarlett was going to get up again after crawling into bed since they had yet to eat dinner, but that didn't end up happening, and starvation from that mistake made them both feel weak and irritable.

Scarlett eventually crawled out of bed, not much caring about the messy tangled state of her hair. She was far too hungry to worry about appearance anyways, and she wasn't about to ask Vandal to work some of his illusion on her to make her pretty either. She moved out the door and into the cafeteria, Vandal dragging his feet behind her, and eventually once they had filled their plates, Scarlett released the rest of her pokemon to go scrounge for themselves while she dug into a pile of waffles with strawberries, chocolate chips, and whipped cream to help balance the need for extra sugar and energy from neglecting to eat the night before. Once she had resupplied herself, she went to the meats, grabbing bits of bacon and sausage to munch on while her team finished eating. Once they had all filled themselves up, she returned her team and looked to Vandal. "Hoy, since ya've got the natural fur coat, why don't ya go out in the snow and look far me egg?" She suggested quite seriously. Surprisingly, Vandal stood without complaint. Perhaps his full belly had improved his mood, Scarlett wasn't sure, nor did she care as long as he got her egg.

As Vandal left, Scarlett checked her supplies, recalling again now that she was low on sitrus berries due to the gyms she'd been battling, so she grabbed a few handfuls of them from the bowl in the cafeteria and packed up to leave, returning to her room to brush out her hair and wait for Vandal to return. She debated weathering the storm for a store to buy a coat. She had her red sweater packed though, so instead she threw it on once finished detangling her mess of red curls before stepping back into the front entrance to return her key. Vandal returned, the doors of the center blowing open with a chilling breeze, and Scarlett became even more grateful for the sweater. Shaking off the snow, he handed Scarlett her egg and allowed her to return him while she called for her ride charizard so they could get out of this ice block, and as soon as they had gotten far enough away, Scarlett was able to remove her sweater and store it away once more.
