The next trainer she struck a special deal with, that she would use only one pokemon, her Metagross, but that she could use type advantages in battling the person's pokemon. They agreed-- and it was certainly close. Ajicka actually had to use a full restore to keep him from fainting, but he did well and pulled through, and she was sure that he could have done it if thigns had gone slightly differently. For such a victory, she decided to give him a break, and since Nidoking was getting rather strong as well, decided to do the same for him. She would try and focus on Swampert in particular, and Arrow and Jolteon, because, particularly the first two, would likely not be making big appearances in her first gym battle unless she needed. In fact, she primarily hoped to use Jas against Blaine, but she wanted the others primed and ready just in case.

After so much battling, Ajicka decided that it was time for a lunch break. She knew that she was risking losing some valuable training time by pausing everything, but she was also fairly certain her pokemon needed the time to recover a bit, and she could admittedly use the time to sit down and rest her feet. Plus, it didn't look like there were very many trainers around that she could still challenge to a battle-- most knew to avoid her, or had already battled her, and lost.
So, for now, she decided that a break was in order, making sure that she had food and setting it out, before releasing her pokemon and sitting down to chow down on a sandwich she had made herself. She glanced over as Deoxys lowered beside her, watching her pokemon with unreadable eyes. She stared at him sideways, watching him with wary curiosity. She didn't really know anything about him, but he already seemed to know just about all there was to know about her after spending all that time in her head. She had the distinct sensation that he had sifted through her memories and her inner subconscious, and while she knew she should be unnerved by it, she was oddly... at peace with the idea. Or at least resigned to it.
After all, it was done. There was really no changing that. And he didn't... seem to be keen on abusing it, or holding any of it over her head. She didn't really... mind having him there, looming in the back of her mind. In fact, being vaguely aware of it, she realized the feeling was almost familiar in of itself. Perhaps because of Elle or, more likely, Metagross, quietly settling into her mind without her even realizing it. She'd never had much experience with psychic types... now she found herself practically surrounded by them.

At the very least, she trusted Metagross and Elle to keep her safe, should Deoxys prove to be dangerous. He was clearly powerful, perhaps more so than either of them, as far as psychic prowess went, but that didn't mean they wouldn't at least notice if something was going on, that they wouldn't alert her to any signs of trouble, to any concerns. And together, with Metagross' increasing power, and the help of the others, they could undoubtedly take him down. Ajicka still felt confident in her ability to assess a pokemon's strength, and while he was obviously capable.... she had a feeling his battling capabilities were only on level with Bagon's, if even that.

Shaking the thoughts from her head-- and aware that Deoxys was perhaps listening-- she instead focused on watching her pokemon, reclining back on one hand as she ate, surveying the group. Jas appeared to be having some sort of conversation with Metagross, speaking of, and Elle was shuffling around, exploring the area curiously. Jolteon had already eaten her food and was sleeping, perhaps in anticipation of more battles. Fearow and Arrow were perched in a nearby tree, the former with hsi head tucked beneath his wing, sleeping, and the latter watching his teammates curiously. Bagon was restlessly running around, checking on everyone and everything, then setting to work on training by headbutting a rock formation nearby. She smiled, glancing at Nidoking, who had his eyes closed, but didn't appear to be sleeping. Resting, perhaps? Regaining his energy, or just focusing?
She glanced over, blinking and leaning back with wide eyes as she saw Deoxys' form ripple. She nearly thought it a mirage-- but then his form changed entirely, spiking out at his head into three directions, instead of the normal two, and at his knees, his form slightly sharper and more aggressive. "What--" But before she could even ask, he had taken off, soaring into the sky, and then darting off over some trees, disappearing from view. She frowned, glancing over at Metagross', whose gaze she could feel settling on her. She bowed her head slightly, meeting his stare, then shook her head and looked away, returning to her sandwich. He shifted, then brought his gaze up to Jas, who was surprisingly aware of the exchange, and seemed to ask about it.
Ajicka turned her thoughts to ones of strategy.

Once everyone had finished she began pulling herself and her things together, calling otu to everyone and returning them to their pokeballs. She wanted to get back to training, so that they could at least hopefully all reach a certain point before they had to turn in for the evening. For now, though, she needed to train, and once her pokemon were returned, started off to find another trainer. It wasn't too long, however, before another trainer found her. "Hey, girl! I heardja got a pretty powerful Metagross!" She turned, glancing over at the trainer through the corner of her eye, staring dully at him. "Care to battle?" The guy held up a pokeball, grinning, and she paused, then turned, lifting her head and smirking. "'Sure, but I don't do one on one's. You'll have to have more than just that one pokemon if you want to go," she replied, pulling out Metagross' pokeball. "I got five pokemon. You get through my Metagross, and you can use whatever you want to take on the other four. No promises you'll get that far, though," he replied. "Assuming I understand you right, I have to use my Metagross against your Metagross... If that's the cse, I'm pretty confident I'll get there," Ajicka replied, enlarging the pokeball, "But I guess there's only one way to tell."

"Metagross! Start things off with Earthquake!" With her pokemon being at a higher level, Ajicka immediately took advantage of the opportunity to unleash her first attack, rocking the ground as Metagross stomped the earth, shaking it and nearly cracking the rock beneath him. "Earthquake, huh...? Well, we may not have that attack, but with a little defense lowering, I bet we can do almost as much damage! Metagross, use Psychic!" the boy commanded in retaliation. Ajicka stared at him, shifting her gaze to the pokemon to watch the attack. It was... unimpressive, to say the least. Ajicka was almost embarrassed for the guy. "Earthquake again, Metagross..." she urged. The pokemon gave metallic ker-chunking sound of begrudging acknowledgement, and unleashed the attack, successfully K.O.ing the opponent. It took a moment for the young man across from her to realize what had just happened. "B-buh..." he stuttered, staring at his knocked out pokemon. He gulped, then lifted his gaze up. "G-guess the rumors were right! Your pokemon is... pretty tough! But the rest of my pokemon are ground type, and your metagross doesn't stand a chance against them!" he proclaimed, returning his pokemon, and already reaching for his next. "Metagross? No. You said I could use whatever pokemon I wanted. I plan to hold you to that. If all your pokemon are ground types-- thanks for that, by the way-- then I know just who to use," she said, returning Metagross, and reaching for her next pokeball, "Swampert should suffice. If you're going to recklessly challenge people and offer them deals like this... you should at least be smart enough to not tell them how to obliterate your whole team. But--" She offered a shrug. "Oh well. Now, let's finish this battle up. I have more training to do."

Ajicka returned her pokemon, moving towards the pokecenter but not getting very far before another trainer approached her. "Well that was an interesting fight," the girl remarked, smiling,"Tell you what, I'll make you a deal, like that guy did. You defeat my Meganium, and you can use whatever pokemon you want to defeat my other grass types. I kind of get the feeling you like to get battles done with or somethin', but I want to see how my pokemon pairs up against yours..." Ajicka raised an eyebrow. "You'd willingly subject your pokemon to that?" she asked dubiously. "Honestly? They're cocky and full of themselves and could use a loss, and Meganium wants to battle your Swampert enough that she doesn't mind losing. I don't know why-- you're a good trainer and all, but there are a lot of those here. Lot of false flattery, too, I find, but that's something else," she remarked, shrugging, "So? We gonna battle or not?" Ajicka paused a moment, considering the girl's offer. Obviously, she would take her up on that... but she was curious about these other trainers she mentioned, and now that she thought about it, there did seem to be a lot of compliments floating around... Weird.
"Well, alright... fine. Let me just heal my pokemon first," she agreed, moving to the pokecenter. A few minutes later, she was back, and ready to battle.

Ajicka returned Arrow with a solemn expression, despite the victory, but when her gaze lifted to her opponent, she gave an appreciative smile. "Thanks... for that battle. I think I'm gonna lay off the type advantages... but Arrow seemed to learn a lot from that," she remarked, then gave a bit of a smirk, "Though I think maybe now he might be in danger of getting a little too cocky as well...""Hey, well, if you ever need someone to beat him, I'd be happy to return the favor when I get a more varied team," the girl replied, giving a big, lopsided grin. Ajicka smirked in return, stepping forward to shake her hand. "Yeah, we'll see about that. I expect a rematch if we cross paths again," she said. The girl nodded, and both headed off to heal their pokemon, Ajicka heading out to jog over to an organized four-on-four battle section, where she could hopefully do a few more rapid battles. They wouldn't be quite as good experience on their own, but she hoped that being able to do several of them would make up for that. She mostly wanted to focus just on Jolteon and Arrow, anyway, and some more training with Swampert as well.
It didn't take her too long before she was able to battle her first opponent, and ironically, a Jolteon was their first choice. She recirpocated, sending Jolteon out to meet her opponent, immediately having Jolteon use Dig. Her opponent's attack missed, an electric move probably intended to test her Jolteon's ability, and she smirked as Jolteon came up, hitting the opponent hard. However, the move her opponent used next was one she wouldn't have expected, and the Giga Impact hit Jolteon before she could manage to make it underground. Apparently, she wasn't going to make it out of this battle without her own pokemon taking a few hard hits as well...

Ajicka immediately returned Jolteon, sending Arrow out. Her opponent eyed him a moment, then returned by sending out a Steelix of his own, initiating the second round. Unfortunately, with the type disadvantage, it was no surprise Arrow was wiped out, but he did a substantial amount of damage, and swampert was able to come in and sweep the opponents team. It was... lucky they had type disadvantages, seeing as Ajicka didn't really want to have to dip into using a fourth pokemon...

Ajicka was starting to get impatient. Her pokemon were getting stronger, she was starting to feel like she had a good chance at at least the next gym leader, even without using a pokemon like Swampert, but... she wasn't sure she could take on Gary yet. Now was the time to train, much as she was starting to get restless about moving on. She had strong trainers here, and she had lucky eggs on most of her pokemon... But she would be lying if she said she was content just sticking around for very long.
The next battle started, and her impatience got the best of her-- she suggested a double battle, to move things at a faster pace... and surprisingly, her opponent concurred. She smirked, pulling out Jas and Jolteon's pokeballs. Jolteon needed the boost-- and Jas hadn't been able to battle in a while. She sent both pokemon out, her opponent stopping and staring a moment, then frowning and sending out a Blastoise, and Torterra. It was an... interesting match up, with type advantages going both ways...

With Jas having nearly fainted, but withstood several attacks he was weak against, and with her pokemon having gained a good bit of experience, Ajicka was ready for a break. Her pokemon had done a lot of battling, and it was becoming tiresome. Much as she wanted to power house through and go immediately challenge the gym, she had to admit when she was tired. She had to. She could feel Deoxys pressing in on her when she considered just ignoring it, and stubbornly striving ahead. Like a warning stare, yet there was no visible sign of him. She thanked her opponent for a battle, turning and striding for the pokecenter immediately so she could let her pokemon recover.
While her pokemon were being healed she lounged in the waiting area, reading up on a pamphlet of TM's and special moves. She lifted her head, though as she overheard a few travelers excitedly discussing some festival back in Kanto. She paused, frowning. She hadn't heard about that... was it new? She remembered the Carnival she'd gone to... and straightened. That had been so long ago, back when she was still starting out her journey. Arceus, how long had it been? She frowned, looking down. Regardless of her timeline... she distinctly remembered getting some rather useful items there. And... having some fun with her pokemon. Man... Nidoking had still been a little Nidoran. Jas wasn't fully evolved.. and she actually got Swampert, still as a little Mudkip, when she'd been at the Carnival. All her pokemon had been so... new.
She drifted in thought for a moment, then stood, noticing her pokemon were ready.

Picking up her pokemon, Ajicka immediately set for one of the PC's, but instead of accessing her storage box, she pulled up a search engine, and began researching this festival. She spent ten minutes bent over the computer, reading, doing background research, investigating each island, all the various things to do. She wanted to makes sure it was not only real... but worth her time. Even if it didn't have anything... overly valuable, it was probably worth going, just so she and her pokemon could relax for a bit. But even so, there did seem to be some potential. 'Games' weren't really her thing... but prizes were, and she read something about that a few times over, and the ones that were actually mentioned were worth getting. Megastones, which she wanted, and Balm Mushrooms, which interested her. The one she got... hadn't really done much, but if they had any validity to them, their possible potential was outstanding.
With that read and decided upon, she accessed her storage unit, withdrawing two of her pokemon, and striding from the building, releasing Ferrow so she could head off.
