Mt. Coronet is the highest mountain in the Sinnoh region, part of a long mountain range that divides the region in half. Most of it is a deep cave, though there are several above-ground areas in which it snows constantly.
The cave that winds through the mountain is apparently man-made, as bridges run through it, though the higher one climbs, the more rugged it becomes. As a centerpiece of the region, the cave connects Oreburgh City, Eterna City, Hearthome City, Celestic Town, and Snowpoint City. To fully navigate the mountain's caves, all a trainers' greatest skills are required.
According to legend, Mt. Coronet is where the Sinnoh region began. The mountain was already in view when Ajicka left Oreburgh, but as she approached it only appeared to grow larger. Rather than beign intimidated, or even in awe, she smirked, eager to take on all the possible pokemon and trainers that were on it. It seemed it might take a little while to actually start climbing, though-- it was starting to get darker, and she still had a little ways to go. She would need to start camping, and--
She stopped when a strange chill swept over her, like a passing shadow. It was almost like that previous sensation, but somehow different. She looked around, almost expecting those eyes to be staring at her from the darkening shadows of the trees. Fantastic... She was getting paranoid, and it was getting darker. Nidoran was staring ahead, but let out a low sound, almost like a grumbling sigh, and shifted his weight. She reached up to place a hand on his shoulder, looking up to see Fearow and Jas silhouetted against the yellow-red sky. She shook her head, taking a deep breath and moving on, glancing down at Jolteon to see the pokemon looking back up at her.
The electric type stared a moment, but then turned and darted up ahead. She hadn't been able to get a lot of exercise since the ball either, and given how much energy she typically had, Ajicka was honestly surprised she'd stayed by her for as long as she did.
Ignoring the sensation creeping up over, she continued on, brushing off her paranoia and, admitteldy, walking a little closer to the large poison-ground pokemon beside her. To think, he had been such a tiny Nidoran before... And so funny, too. Hard to read, a little quirky, adamant about not evolving until she had the stone that could bring him to his final evolution, where he was finally more than eager to leap up the chain of forms. There was still something very...enigmatic to him, but she felt she at least understood him better. She was certainly much less opposed to poison types than she'd been before...

Running a hand over her face, a wry smile crossed Ajicka's lips, and a small, fond scoff of amusement left her. She couldn't believe how long it had been since she started on her journey, and yet... it hadn't been that long at all. Or rather, she hadn't been able to do much journeying. The first part of her travels had been fast paced-- she'd trained, she'd battled, and lost, the first gym leader. She had caught all the pokemon she had now, and Jas sky rocketted through the levels and evolved. Not to mention the fair! She wasn't one for rides, but she didn't regret going, if only becuase of the amount of items she had been able to obtain while she was there. Not to mention, well... she had enjoyed the time she got to spend with her pokemon....
The reminiscing thoughts were enough to keep her preoccupied as she continued towards the mountain, dropping her hand with a faint smile. Nidoking looked down at her out of the corner of his eye, bowing his head slightly, but not speaking up. He could tell she was better off in her own head, for the moment, especially as the pressing enigmatic presence persisted around them...

The group walked primarily walked in silence, Ajicka's mind continuing to wander. The problem with reminiscing, was that it eventually began leading towards the Halloween Eve Ball. Which, of course, brought her thoughts to Elle. She hadn't even released the Kirlia from her ball since she woke up, not for any reason other than for meals. She'd avoided her so that she couldn't get into her mind, something that this silence reminded her. Telepathic communication wasn't really something she had gotten used to, per se, but... she had becoming accustomed to it. A little more comfortable, especially since Elle was so chatty. It was... strange having her with her, now, and knowing that she was still in her pokeball, instead of out talking or skipping around....

As the sun continued to lower and the sky started darkening, Mt. Coronet drew closer, and they began to near the base of the mountain. Ajicka was still engulfed in her thoughts, but as her mind wandered over Elle, and she considered sending Metagross out-- perhaps as a substitute, or to simply further surround herself with her pokemon-- she became abruptly aware of the imposing sensation of being watched, flooding her as though her awareness had opened the gates to allow it in.
She shuddered, and Nidoran straightened up beside her, growling and looking around. Jas landed in front of her, glaring around, as if her sudden tension activated their protective instincts. And perhaps it did, as even Fearow swept down, collected, calm, but staring into the darkness with sharp, piercing eyes. She flushed, gritting her teeth in embarrassment at her reaction. She didn't... she didn't need them to all protect her like this. Sure, yes, the feeling had momentarily paralyzed her, and she'd been weirdly... terrified in the cave. That didn't mean she was helpless.
'Tsk'ing, she shoved her way past Jas and Fearow, continuing with a long stride, despite the eerie sesnation of something creeping up on her. A roar from Jas had her whipping around, eyes wide as adrenaline shot through her system, but her pokemon were looking at her-- past her. She spun back around, staring wide at the creature looking back at her, hovering about a foot off the ground.
It was a pokemon she had never seen before, but those eyes... She was positive it was the same thing that she had found herself staring down back at the cave, and running from. And just like before, the eyes bore into her, staring into her mind, piercing straight through her. Paralyzing.

Before Ajicka could recover from the shock, one of her pokeballs suddenly snapped open. For a moment, she thought it was Swampert, or Metagross, joining the others, but instead Bagon appeared, ready at her side. "Ba!" The dragon pokemon suddenly rushed forward, charging the foreign creature. "No!" Ajicka gasped, stepping forward. Jas roared and took off, but as Bagon reached the pokemon, a psychic blast suddenly radiated from the pokemon, catching Bagon as the pokemon leaped up to hit it, and tossing Jas back in the air.
Jas! Bagon---!" she shouted, stepping towards the lower level pokemon and whipping around to make sure Jas was okay. He was fine, landing and shaking his head, but immediately setting the enemy with a glare. She looked back to see the pokemon staring back at her, eyes boring into her mind. "Jas--" she started, but a loud, booming voice cut her off. 'NO!' She flinched, reaching up to her head even though she could tell it has been a psychic shout. Even her pokemon grimaced in pain, but as they all looked back, ready to attack... It disappeared.

Ajicka took a deep breath and held it a moment, staring at the spot where the creature had stood just a moment before. Finally, she sighed, reaching up to her hair, but still looking straight ahead. She could feel her pokemon gradually relaxing around her, and finally closed her eyes, trying to relax. Obviously, that thing had to be a pokemon. She wasn't really sure what kind, but that had definitely been a psychic force, and she was fairly certain that had been the move Teleport that it used to escape.
Well, if it was a pokemon, that just meant it could be battled, and defeated. There was nothing to fear, and next time it appeared, she would send Jas out to obliterate it.
Shaking her head and settling her resolve, she looked up, striding forward, and continuing on her way to the mountain.

The trek to the foot of the mountain wasn't terribly long, but it was still nearly dark by the time they arrived there. Hardly any light remained in the sky as she started to set up camp, tucked away under some trees, off the main path. She was still wary of any sign of the creature that had attacked her, but so far, no sign of it. Not even the eerie sensation that so often clung to the back of her mind, hinting at its presence.
It was enough to convince her that she could make a fire, so she could heat up some food for herself while her team ate and kept watch. The meal was very quiet, with Metagross and Swampert out as well. She had returned Bagon to his pokeball after the incident, uncertain how to feel about his fast attack. She was proud he was so ready to defend her, and prove himself, but he had done it all on his own initiative-- that could end up bad, in the future.
She shook her head, trying to focus her thoughts, and glancing at Elle's pokeball beside her. She would really have to let her out soon, to eat with the others...

Once she had finished eating, Ajicka stood up, walking towards the trees with Elle's pokeball in her hand. Jas noticed, raising to his feet from where he'd been laying on his side, flapping his wings to lift him up and drift the distance over to land beside her. Metagross shifted, watching them out of the corner of his eye. She could practically feel him prod her mind, encouraging her to be careful, but there was no voice. He never really spoke... it was... odd. She released Elle back with the group as she disappeared into the shadows, feeling only a faint sensation of disappointment from the Kirlia, and catching a soft sigh before disappearing past the tree line.

Sigh, Ajicka leaned against a tree trunk, crossing her arms over her chest. Jas crooned and leaned down, nudging her with his head, which only made her turn her head in the other direction. She felt... bad, about how she was treating Elle, but every time she even thought about letting the Kirlia out, she saw her as she'd been at the ball, mutilated and... undead. Even if it had all been an illusion-- or possession-- the image was still burned into her mind, and the weight of it still hit her heart.
She had lost Elle. She had let her down, let her be stolen and... and possessed! What more of a failure could she possibly be, letting something like that happen?
She pressed the palm of her hand to her forehead, sighing, and shoved Jas away as he nudged her again. "I'm fine Jas!" she muttered, pushing off the tree. She sighed, though, feeling the anger and embarrassment drain out of her. "Sorry..." she muttered, leaning back, and, indeed, he was right there behind her. He craned his neck around, looking at her worriedly, but she closed her eyes, gently leaning against him. Jas was still a bit of a softy sometimes, despite all the training they'd done, but honestly, she... she did appreciate it, at times. He was a little overly worried about her and she wished he'd stop fussing, but it was nice knowing that she could depend on him to leap to her side and put on the scary face if she was in danger. If anything, that alone was something to be proud of, considering how timid he had been before, but the fact that he even had the force to back up his actions....
He was pretty strong now, after all. She still couldn't believe how quickly he had leveled up. And now she had quite a few of those stones that had helped her to level him up... Perhaps she could use some of those, too, during the training she was about to do...

Shaking her head to try and clear her mind a bit, Ajicka pushed off, smiling a little as Jas gave another low rumble and an encouraging nudge. "Let's head back," she urged, "Everyone should be done eating by now..." She turned and started back for the camp sight, taking her time, figuring most of her pokemon would have settled in by this point. Jas looked around behind her, but she didn't notice the edge to his gaze.
She walked past the trees and into the campsite, dropping onto the bed she had laid out. Elle had let herself back into her pokeball... as well as a few others, but Nidoking, Metagross, and Jolteon were still out. Jas settled in near her, curling up with his tail near the fire, to perhaps keep it lit should it start to die down. After checking her pokemon, Ajicka laid down, deciding to close her eyes for a bit before doing a bit more reading, and finally going to bed. After all, even though she got up, she didn't really want to completely crash yet. Tired... tired as she may have been... she would just.... close her eyes.... just for a bit...
