She hadn't forgotten the invitation to fight and catch the pokemon that lived here, and she was excited to see what she could find. Riley had recently remembered how she was supposed to be filling out her pokedex and was a bit excited at such a great chance to get back on track. "Are you coming?" she called into the room. Seul had paused at the door but resumed following when Vanyel tottered out.

"Wow!" Riley exclaimed when she got outside, wide eyes watering at the sunlight. After days spent in a musty, dark, and spooky house it was a breath of fresh air smelling of flowers and dew and it was exactly what Riley needed. She let Hubble from his pokeball, intending to let him train some. "Come on, Hubble, let's go!" Riley let the rest of her pokemon out to wander and rest before running off into the garden with Hubble behind her. They slowed down a bit, trying to be a bit less startling for any pokemon nearby. Riley spotted a small pink pokemon playing with the loose stones of a pathway. "Oh, that looks rare. Think you can take it, Hubble?" In answer Hubble charged forward, ready to fight. Riley instructed him through the battle, surprised when the puffball happiny managed to copy Hubble's iron tail at one point. Nevertheless Hubble won and Riley threw out a pokeball to try catching it.

Riley grinned as the pokeball she threw came to a stop with the Happiny inside. She high fived Hubble (which she had to crouch for) and picked up the pokeball, opting to let it transfer itself to her PC. The Professor had a big open space at his lab for pokemon, so Riley hoped the happiny could be happy there. "Okay, how about we catch some friends for the happiny?" Riley asked. Hubble nodded enthusiastically, and soon they found a meowth. Riley sent Hubble after it, using a combination of iron tail and earth power to knock it out. Hubble's rough skin was proving really helpful against these weaker pokemon that didn't have special attacks. Though it was easy to knock the meowth out, it proved a lot harder to catch it. Two of Riley's pokeballs failed and broke before a third just barely managed to keep it inside.

Riley picked up the pokeball, feeling good. It was nice to be able to train Hubble while finally doing what she'd promised she'd do for the Professor in the first place. She'd just been so excited about setting off on her adventure, and then she got swept up trying to save Nima and Noel that she'd completely forgotten about the pokedex.

The next wild pokemon that came along was big and pink! "Hey, that's a Chansey! And just after we caught a happiny, too. You up for it, Hubble?" The little dragon nodded. Riley made sure to throw her pokeball once it looked like the chansey was weakened, not wanting to give up the chance to get this evolution.

Riley wondered if the only pokemon in this garden were normal types, since that was all she had seen so far. They were really rare normal types, though, which was kind of weird. The opposite of what she expected, that was for sure!
Riley was surprised when she saw Hubble eyeing something brown and fluffy poking out of a bush. Before she could stop him, he had leaped and bitten down. There was a yelp and an eevee ran out, trailing Hubble behind it. :Wow, an Eevee. Nice catch Hubble! But, um, wrong end for iron tail." Hubble detached himself and swung his rear, smacking the eevee back. It retaliated by biting down, but it wasn't enough to keep from getting knocked out. Riley threw a pokeball, catching the small brown pokemon.
Riley released the eevee, not wanting to send it to her PC right away. "Ohh, it's so cute!" She pet its fluffy head, giggling happily to herself. The eevee seemed distracted, squirming out of her hands and running into the bush. Riley looked and found that it had joined two other eevee! Wow, three at once! Riley held out a hand for them to sniff and laughed when one of them went so far as to lick it! It seemed like these two wanted to stay with their friend (siblings, maybe?) so Riley put them both in pokeballs. They would be happy living together, she thought.

Landing in the front garden Simon thanked Noivern with a hug before returning him. Looking at the mansion Simon reached into his pack and touched the black flutes inside. Spoink could do well here and he'd start catching the last few 'baby' Pokemon on his list. Some of them evolve into powerful Pokemon. Since the Unova Elite Four was open to him now he should look into them and see what Pokemon would be the best. Sending out Spoink they entered the mansion, said hello to the butler and went out into the gardens. Nodding at Spoink he removed a black flute putting it to his lips, remembering trying and failing to catch an Igglybuff. Playing it Spoink got ready as the flute broke and Igglybuff appeared. "Igglybuff the balloon Pokemon. Igglybuff has a soft and plushy body that feels very much like a marshmallow. From this body wafts a gently sweet fragrance that soothes and calms the emotions of its foes."

Spoink looked sad for a moment but nodded as Simon sent the Ghost Pokemon out to translate. "Spoink says that it's okay, he understands.""Thank you," Simon said returning him and looking at Dusknoir. The last Pokemon that he needed to collect that he could collect was Mantyke, one he couldn't find out in the garden but in front of the mansion was that little area to fish. Simon knew that you needed to surf to encounter one so Greninja would help with that but he'd still let Spoink battle it. Out front Simon sent out Greninja and Spoink explaining what was going to happen. Greninja croaked and jumped into the water as Simon climbed onto his back. Using psychic power Spoink created a path for him to stand on as Simon played the flute again and the wild Mantyke appeared. "Mantyke the kite Pokemon. When it swims close to the surface of the ocean, people aboard ships are able to observe the pattern on its back. The pattern on its back varies by region. It often swims in a school of Remoraid."

Once Mantyke was caught and the trio got to dry land Simon thanked Greninja for the help and returned him before congratulating Spoink on a great battle. Healing him up the pair started for the mansion. Recognizing that this would be a good place to train Spoink up since he only needed three more levels or so before he evolved the pair went back out into the gardens. Spoink was still happy to be battling but was prepared for whichever Pokemon attacked. This time it was the fairy Pokemon and evolved form of Igglybuff, Jigglypuff. Nodding at Spoink that he could take this Pokemon on the battle began. Using Zen headbutt Spoink knocked the Jigglypuff back but the Pokemon rolled into a ball and kept coming back. Simon could see the wild Pokemon getting tired so he could only hope Spoink could defeat it before rollout really started to do damage.

Calling Spoink back Simon healed him up when another Mime Jr. appeared, of course after he caught the Pokemon he wanted with the black flute they see more and more of them. Spoink looked at Simon as if to ask if he was going away for this battle when Simon shook his head. "When you leveled up you learned both rest and snore so I think you're going to be able to hold your own this time." Spoink was excited and it may have looked strange Simon had him use rest on the first turn. Mime Jr. started to get stronger with meditation then used encore which was fine until Spoink woke up and still continued to snore which failed since he wasn't asleep. Falling back to sleep Spoink defeated the Pokemon with a few more snores.

Happy that it was able to beat another psychic Pokemon which it was normally weak to Spoink was making it a tad difficult for Simon to heal him as he chuckled at the Pokemon's antics. There was a sweet musical sound coming from behind them and they turned to see,"Kricketune the cricket Pokemon. It signals its emotions with its melodies. Now Spoink was weak against bug type moves but he still wanted to battle on so Simon would let him so he lowered down and rushed to start off with a zen headbutt.

It was a worrisome battle but his faith was well placed as Spoink defeated the bug Pokemon. Hopping over to him Spoink gave him a big smile as Simon healed him up. The way things were going it would only be a few more battles before Spoink evolved into his next form. It would be nice since he was pretty sure the evolved form didn't have to keep in motion all the time. Sounds from the tall grass earned the sharp eye from both trainer and Pokemon when a wild Happiny came out. Spoink bounced into position and was ready to take it down.

The next Pokemon that had appeared from the grass was the digital Pokemon Porygon. This battle was going to be a long one as Spoink smashed into Porygon. Taking the hit Porygon seemed to glow recovering its health. However Spoink wasn't giving up and that was a great thing. Porygon fired off a Psybeam but luckily that wasn't effective against the psychic Pokemon. Even though there were different times that Porygon used recover it wasn't enough, another Zen headbutt and the Pokemon fainted.
