While Jay worked to tag the pokeballs with braille (confirming who was in each one with Ralward twice before finishing), his pokemon sorted themselves out. Rawlly still seemed to be in thought, while PJ had resumed training and practicing contests moves. He'd only paused curiously to watch the exchange. Lee was sleeping on her trainer's head, so Jay soon returned her, while Koda laid down and watched what his trainer was doing with interest. Silence passed, with the sound of PJ's attacks being the only sound in the group, until finally, Jay finished, and climbed back up to stand straight. "Y'all alright with goin' back into town fer a bit? Know you wanna do contests, PJ, but I need to get somethin' to eat and sorta....get my head back on straight," Jay remarked, tucking Lee's pokeball away with the others.
There was a general consensus, and Jay paused. Without Heracross or Zoey or even Lee, he felt a little like he had in that strange world. Clicking his tongue, though, echoes brought a little more focus, and he gave a shake of his head before turning, and slowly making his way back into town. He recalled PJ, just to help lessen the crowd around his feet, but he could feel Rawlly walking along to his left, and the faint chill of Koda's presence to his right. Much as he had just slept, his head felt sort of foggy and unfocused, but he knew taking another nap probably wasn't going to help. He'd just have to hope food helped him out....

As Temperance made her way further and further from the contest hall, she continued to roll various scenario's through her head. Her eyes were pasted at the ground as she managed to haphazardly weave herself through the streets, making some near misses. Thankfully Azalev kept a steady pace at her right, while many obstacles rested to her left making it hardly possible for someone to stand near her or bump into her from that side. Even still, as Temperance's feet took her around a corner she came face to face with a male, whose attire seemed much like what a cowboy would wear, or at least someone from a 'western' origin.
Her reaction time was a faulty, being so lost in thought, that a collision was more than likely to happen. If not for her psychic Pokemon, as well as his own if they were quick enough. Finding herself dangling mid fall it took only a moment before Temperance found her feet once more on solid ground, able to balance on her own. "Oh-" She voiced, finally coming to her senses. "I'm- "'Temp we gotta be more careful.' Din mused floating over to the blonde's shoulder. she then motioned towards the cowboy. "Right..." Placing her attention on the male in question she gave a shallow bow. "I'm sorry, I was lost in thought. I should be more careful. Are you alright?" Temperance inquired, quite unaware of this male's preexisting ailment.

Thankfully, Jay had to be aware of his surroundings. He heard the footsteps and he slowed, but what he didn't anticipate was to have the person whip around the corner and continue straight for him. He reflexively reached out as if to try and grab something, and stepped back, but his hand found air and he nearly lost his balance. He could feel something brush against him, and felt the warmth of another body close to him, and though he wasn't aware of it, his expression showed a brief moment of panic and surprise. Thankfully, his own pokemon stayed out of the way, all being around knee height, and he caught himself, but he instinctively clutched his chest a bit at the near miss, and the lack of anything else to hold onto and stabilize himself with.
"H... heh, n-no problem," he replied with an uneven grin. He let out a shaky laugh, ushering the adrenaline from his system, and straightened up. "'M fine. Are you?" he returned kindly, eyes closed as he lifted his head up and settled into his stance. Once again, he found himself wishing Heracross was with him, or any taller pokemon, just for the extra security, but at least the two had managed to stay on their feet. Barely.

Thankfully both parties were left unscathed from the near collision. Temperance continued to give a worried apologetic look to the male as both regained their composer. "I'm fine." She replied to his returned inquiry. A quick glance around and Temperance took in a proper image of the male, as well as his Pokemon. He had a Ralts as well, it seemed. The other Pokemon through Temperance had never seen before. "I guess I should pay more attention to where I'm walking." The blonde stated, bringing up her incompetence once more. Jay grinned, good naturedly, as the woman (he assumed, by the tone of their voice) continued to berate herself. "Really, ain't a big deal, don' worry 'bout it," he reassured her. It wasn't like he could do much better, especially when it came to corners, though he did tend to take those a bit more quickly. She, though, seemed to have been in a rush. And there was a touch of... something, in her voice. Stress? Strain? Concern? He hummed quietly as he turned that over, and debated whether to ask. Before he could make up his mind on inquiring, or bidding farewell, the woman spoke up again, and his head lifted at the hesitant, questioning tone. A ruffian? A smile tugged at the corner of his lips again, wiping away the momentary, conflicted frown that had flickered over his features.
"Can't say I've seen much of anything," he replied back jokingly, in a light tone, unaware whether she could even see his face to get the joke. He continued more seriously, though his tone remained light. "Ain't neard nothin', neither. Rawlly, you any idear on who she's talkin' 'bout?" He inclined his head towards the Ralts, only aware of where he was from his last impression while they were walking. Rawlly wasn't looking at Jay, though, instead his gaze (seemingly) on Temperance and her pokemon. He had noticed Midna, and he.... had admittedly caught himself staring, a bit. Not entranced, but nostalgic; it had been a long time, since he'd been around other ralts, and after that, he had at least had Mimey, but she was gone, too. He didn't long for any of it, but there was a soft, fond tug in his chest at the memories, before his attention shifted. "No, I'm afraid not," he responded, speaking to both their minds as he did. He read Jay's surface thoughts at the same time, and took it upon himself to continue. "I'm sure we have time to help look, however, if you would like." Jay smiled, but didn't add anything else. After all, Rawlly said it for him. He'd let Temperance consider the offer before adding in to the conversation.

Ever more grateful the male was kind, it sort of put Temperance at ease. Some would make a big fuss out of being nearly plowed down, but this man seemed rather nonchalant. Taking in a better look of the male, she did notice something unique about his eyes that she hadn't noticed before... She hadn't really been paying much attention to his appearance at all really. Was he? "O-oh, yes, I se-I mean that is to bad." Fumbling over her words, Temperance felt the sudden urge to slap her cheeks, it wasn't like her to fumble words so easily. She was a princess after all, making speeches were apart of the job. Even if she was sure he couldn't see her do it, she refrained from actually slapping her cheeks, instead resorting to a simple deep breath inwards to calm herself. During this time, the male had taken to inquiring about the man Temperance had asked about with his Ralts, the small psychic-type responded with much the same response. Neither had seen him... Hearthome was a big place after all... he could of left in a different direction?
Thinking on the offer of their assistance, Temperance felt her hand move up to her chest all on it's own, her fingers finding one of the strings belonging to her hoodie. Was she seriously about to drag another stranger into her affairs? Closing her eyes she shook her head. "No, that's alright. I'm sure he'll show up eventually." She gave a chuckle that certainly didn't sound confident. "I'll just head to the Pokemon Center and ask around. Thank you though." Slipping back into her old ways, Temperance couldn't contain shallow bow that she'd been trying to refrain from doing before turning to walk away only to get a few steps to realize... she wasn't sure which direction the Pokemon Center was even in. Hearthome was a large city after all, and she hadn't been paying any attention as to where she was walking.

Jay's lips curled into a grin as he noticed the change in the girl's speech. Had she caught on, then? He supposed the joke was pretty obvious, and without a follow up question from her, he could only assume something gave him away. Probably his eyes-- he'd been told that was usually a giveaway once people noticed it. He bowed his head slightly, still grinning, and scratched his forehead. "Ain't too bad, actually. Y'd be surprised," he replied back amiably. Dropping his hand back down, he straightened up, one hand hooking a thumb into his pocket to let his arm leisurely hang by his side, while the other rested at his belt.
He listened for a response to his offer, but smiled as she declined. She sounded nice-- from her words, to her tone of voice, the impression he got from her. It was worth following up, just in case. Truth be told, Temperance hadn't really been acquainted with anyone blind before. Vision impaired yes, but not entirely blind. He seemed to brush off her words with a carefree notion that she'd be surprised... Well, Temperance herself wouldn't know what to do if she'd ever lost her eyesight but for someone who's lived with it... let alone traveled with it she guessed one could learn to get used to the darkness. After all, he had Pokemon to see for him right? Still, Temperance couldn't help but feel a touch sad about the whole thing. Even still it was sweet of the cowboy to offer his help once more, even if he was more or less enlisting his Pokemon to help in his stead. "I'm sure. I wouldn't want to take up any more of your time." She was sure he had places to be, things to do... she didn't want to wrap another person up in her business.
Of course Temperance now felt a bit silly, moments later, standing there like a buffoon, unsure which way she should go to get the Pokemon Center. Sure she could of easily enlisted the help of her Pokemon, but looking down at them, they were just as lost as she was. Not surprising, this city was new to them as well. The blonde felt a nervous cloud pass over her when the male's Ralts began speaking once more, asking if she really didn't need help. "Well..." Temperance muttered, gazing back. A soft smile crossed her lips as she pressed her fingers together before her. "I seem to be lost." She chuckled, her nervousness making itself present. "Guess I was so out of it, I got myself lost... I'm so used to simply following my friend that I hadn't paid much attention to the layout of this city." A fair excuse, one she made a mental note to correct next time she found a map. "I'm sure I'd find it eventually, but... well, would you perhaps be familiar with this city? Er, Rawlly.. was it?" She was sure that was the name, the male had used at one point.

Jay' seemed a little doubtful still, but he didn't press. If she didn't want help, well, he wasn't going to push it on someone. He had long since dismissed the concern that people declined help because of how he was, simply because, it didn't do anything to assume that, and it wasn't always the case. And if it was, few admitted to it. He just... accepted if people didn't want help, and let them go on to take care of it themselves, or try. Or... flounder. Either way, it was a good learning experience for them, or it was amusing for him, or it was mutually neutral. He was fine going along with his own plans. Which were... contests? That dream world stuff had really thrown him, but he was pretty sure he was here so PJ could finally get a chance at trying contests. They still needed to look into actually getting him ready for that, though...
And while Jay was considering that, and waiting for the girl to concrete her decision and leave, Rawlly watched her struggle. Jay was still listening even as the ralts spoke up, and as the girl responded. The former nodded as she admitted her current situation. "Emotion can make orientation difficult. Would you like us to help you find where you're going? We've been here for a little while, walked it enough." He didn't bother glancing at Jay, but the fact that the man didn't respond, meant that he was compliant with the offer. Ralward knew him well enough to read that. "Did you want to go somewhere in particular?" he added up, while Jay remained quiet. Honestly, the ginger had shifted his focus to listen further in on their surroundings. After all, if Temperance was looking for her friend, maybe her friend was looking for her, too. And maybe he could catch sound of him if he listened.

It seemed as though her thoughts of declining their help were quickly being reversed. With no clue where she was going she could end up wandering around the city for hours before finally giving up and asking someone for directions. She could do the same in this instance... but now she was feeling anxious for already having wasted so much of their time. "Well, now that I'm aware of being utterly lost I think I have little options to work with." She replied. "I was thinking of heading to the Pokemon Center, but the Contest Hall could also give me answers I need." If she kept on like this for very much longer though... eventually her pursuers would catch on that she wasn't in the northern region of Shinnoh and they'd head this way to look for her. A light smile crossed Jay's face as he brought his attention back to the conversation. Of course, he didn't quite have the wherewithal to realize it might not be the most appropriate time to smile, given Temperance's nervousness and apparent embarrassment, not to mention her missing friend, but, well, he was never the sort to necessarily have a heavy reaction to much. He respected people's moments, sure, but he sympathized some, and even that, earned a small, understanding smile. It was a lot harder to make him frown, honestly, except in thought.
"Contest Hall, huh?" he piped up. Rawlly lapsed into silence, and Jay casually took over the more conversational element of the discussion. "Yer friend a coordinator 'r somethin'?" His first thought had actually been if she participated herself, but given her purpose in looking around, he switched assumptions. His smile turned into a lopsided grin as she remarked on the two locations proximity, though. "Yeah that sounds about right.""I believe I can get us to the pokecenter easily," the ralts suddenly piped up, lifting his head some. He watched "Tamara"s introductory performance, and simply nodded-- she knew his name, after all -- but let Jay introduce himself. "Jacque, but you can just call me Jay," the ginger returned, shifting his weight. He had his hands in his pockets, but he was suddenly, and strongly, missing Heracross; if they were going to get to walking again, given the near miss with Tamara here, he sort of would have preferred to have one of his pokemon to lean on.
"What's your friends name?" Rawlly added, turning to begin walking. Jay's head visibly turned away, as he listened to the pokemon's movements. He tracked him a bit, clicked his tongue as surreptitiously as he could, and moved to carefully step around the building he'd been lingering near, to start following. His steps were a little slower, but not terribly out of place. "'N how'd you lose 'im, if you don' mind me askin'?" Jay added in. Koda had remained quiet, and fell behind the other two, but his glowing blue eyes traced on Temperance with unnerving consistency. He hadn't really looked away from her since the initial run in, in fact.

While Temperances' nervousness was still holding a grip on her, she was starting to feel a bit more comfortable around this male and his companions. Perhaps it was the feeling he gave off, staying calm and relaxed. It sort of made her feel even more ashamed for having lost her composer for this long. Steering the conversation back towards where Temperance had last seen Dallas, the blonde nodded. "Well, yes he is." She replied. "We were there for a contest, but instead he ended up encouraging me to partake in one." Temperance replied. Midna seemed to perk up at the mention of this. 'I was her partner!' The tiny ralts remarked, motioning towards herself. "Yes, I have to say it was a fun experience." Little did she know the cost of having her face being broadcast and slapped in newspapers. Fame, was the last thing the Princess-in-disguse needed. A retrospect she'd learn the harsh reality of eventually.
Speaking up, Rawlly believed he could lead them to the Pokemon center at the very least. Surely once they got to familiar territory she could find her way from there. Introductions followed quickly after. "Jay. Thank you, again." Temperance chuckled. From that, it seemed they were ready to move out. Temperance kept somewhat in the lead, careful to follow after Rawlly's directions. She turned back a moment to watch Jay as he walked. "Oh, yes. His name is Austin, Austin Tucksworth, he's gained a bit of fame in the contest scene." Gazing forward for a moment she heard Jay speak up once more. "Well, I had just finished my own contest, and went back stage to celebrate with him, but... both he and his Pokemon were gone." The whole thing still seemed odd to her. How he had simply vanished. "None of my own Pokemon seemed to have noticed him leave, which is why I'm so worried. It just doesn't sound like him to be the type to just leave. I figured maybe he'd simply went back to the dressing room, but no luck." Reaching a hand up to her collar, Temperance began playing with one of the strings on her hoodie. "I just hope he's okay wherever he is." She finished. If he didn't show up by tomorrow morning she'd simply leave a message with the Nurse Joy and move on. The thought of staying in one place for to long was making her nervous again.

Jay listened calmly as they started walking, half distracted with trying to tune in on his surroundings so he didn't go tripping or walking into walls or other young ladies. He was still taking in what Temperance had to say, though, albeit on a slight delay, and a smile crossed his face when he caught up to the fact that she'd just participated in her own, presumably first, contest. "Well hey, congratulations. Gotta a few pok'mon of my own wantin' ta try contests out. You win yers?" he asked. He sort of assumed so, considering how she talked about it all, but maybe she was one of those who could enjoy things simply for what they were, regardless of the outcome.
His smile grew a bit at her thanks, but he simply hummed back a simple, "Mhm," in return, kind and easy going, the closest he could do to a simple nod of acknowledgement given such a gesture was sort of meaningless with him. His expression turned more considerate as she elaborated about her friend, giving a name, and a reputation. A crooked grin briefly crossed his face. "Can't say I've heard've him," he remarked, doing a surprisingly good job at keeping his tone conversational and light, even though his grin suggested something else. Shrugging off the amusement, though, he took a little more time to consider the story she regaled, and his brow furrowed the more he thought about it. "Yeah that's.... mighty odd. Unless he was the sort to just run off or get distracted by things, I'd have to admit that'd concern me with just about anyone, too." And though he didn't say it out loud, considering how many questionable folks lurked in every region, a disappearance like that was particularly disconcerting.
He smiled through the worry in an almost reassuring way, that showed through his tone as he spoke up, "Don' worry, I'm sure he's a capable person. Even coordinators gotta keep their pok'mon in good condition, I'd assume, so I'm sure they can help protect him 'till we find 'im." He straightened up a bit as the sound of automatic doors reached his ear, and Rawlly soon spoke up to confirm his suspicion. "Here's the pokecenter. Would you like us to come in and help look? Or, we can investigate the contest hall while you do, if you like," the ralts offered, looking over to the other nearby building with consideration.

With a smile on her face, the blonde replied with a light hum. "Yes, Midna and I managed to get ourselves a win." Gazing back at Jay thoughtfully she thought back on her contest experience. While it was fun, this was certainly going to be a one-time deal. There was far to much risk in getting herself well known. To many eyes belonging to the wrong people on her didn't sound good. "I hope they have fun." She'd of course root for their success.
Giving Austin's stage name, Temperance thought over Jay's response. It was believable that one wouldn't know of Austin's name, he wasn't like one of those triple A celebrities, a bit of fame in the contest circuit wouldn't guarantee worldwide fame after all. "Is that so? I suppose he's not super famous yet." A light chuckle followed Temperance's response. "Hmm, come to think of it, No one at the contest hall made mention of his disappearance either." Why hadn't she of thought of that sooner. It wasn't like they didn't know he was there. Did he really just up and abandon her?
The more she thought of it being possible that he abandoned her after all that talk he'd put forth made her heart fell heavy. She knew full well how much she was asking of him, and knew in time the stress of helping her deal with something as large as keeping control over an entire Kingdom was bound to make loyalties waver. With a deep breath in, Temperance lifted her gaze back to Jay. A wide smile fought its way to her lips. "Yes. I'm sure he's more than capable." Setting her gaze to Jay's psychic companion Temperance fell into a bow. "I thank you for escorting me here. I have much to think about before proceeding with looking for my companion. If you wouldn't mind asking around the Contest Hall for me, It would be appreciated, but I think for now, I shall retire to my room here." For a brief moment an almost forlorn look crossed her eyes though a smile still kept itself firmly planted. "I wish you good luck if you end up partaking in a contest." Lifting from her bow she offered a wave to Jay's team. "Do take care. Good-bye for now." With that final sentence, Temperance turned on her heel and headed inside the Center.
