"I have not, however I'm not opposed to it. I simply lack the passion individuals like yourself and Crystal have for it, and without Jay's attention devoted to it, there seems little need for me to try and step up to fill a role for that," he replied simply, officially engaged in the conversation now that he'd had enough food to at least quell his hunger. Dallas stood there patiently as Tamara -that is, Temperence- admitted the truth to him. He could tell that it was something she didn't want to do, and the guilt was very much clear on her face. It was all making a lot more sense: the strange need to learn common talk, the hatred of the title Princess...things all clicked together rather well. Dallas didn't speak as she admitted all to him, merely being polite and letting her get it all out. Susan however, flooded Dallas' mind with a constant barrage of A TOAD-A-SO! A-TOAD-A-SO!* So, when she was finished, it was Dallas' turn to talk, to speak up. There was a lot of things he thought to say, some rude, some obnoxious...but, he settled on something else.
"Can you get me one of those sticks with the spike balls on 'em?" He asked it with no joking tone, more, matter-of-fact-like. "A mourning star or whatever the hell it's called. I figure with the shape my bat's in, I'll need something else to use if those assholes come back to start s**t." He smirked that cocky smirk of his, but looked at Temperance with friendly eyes. "I guess what I'm saying is...well, I ain't got no friends. There's you, and Naomi, and Naomi's as complicated as unknotting a tangela, ya know? But yeah, I like to think that you're my friend, so that means were tight, right? You're a pretty decent person, even if you're some fancy-pants princess." His spoke in a more vulnerable fashion, much like Temperance had just done with him; it wasn't easy to admit that he cared about somebody else, even on a platonic level. "I mean, you decided to hang out with a hoodlum dickhead like me, and you coulda stepped away at any time...but, you even cheered me on...and accepted me...so, I mean, I can't let some royal dweeb show me up...so, consider yourself lucky, cuz this sonuvabitch has got your back!" He had about the kindest smile that Dallas had made voluntarily before scratching the back of his head. "But c'mon, Princess Zelda, let's get rolling; you look like s**t, and that means I ain't far behind."
Dallas started down the pathway, heading for the city proper. "And I'm dead serious: Get me one of those morning star things when you get the chance. Oh, and I need a title, like Lieutenant Badass Tucker, or Seargent at Harms, or Royal Face Breaker." Susan tagged along, and G-Money (which Dallas had decided to call the Golurk) traveled behind at a distance to keep watch over its master.

What Temperance got in return.. she hadn't expected. So much so that it left her... speechless. All she could do was stare at Dallas as he metaphorically laid out his guts to her. By the end of it all Temperance could feel tears welling up in her eyes. "Y-yea..." She replied, her voice cracking under the strain of trying to keep herself from balling her eyes out in front of him. Rubbing her face a bit while also using her fingers to brush back her hair and put it back up into a loose pony for the time being, she pursed her lips before smiling. "Thank you, Dallas." With that, the two started to head to the city, the variety of Pokemon following behind them. Temperance chuckled loudly as Dallas continued to joke. "Sure, I'll see what I can do." She replied with a hint of sarcasm. "Now that my Uncle is sure that I'm here, I'll need to call Umbra and let her know. Oh- Umbra, is my advisor as well as my best friend. She's also the leader of her own gym back home." Temperance explained. The blonde realized something as the two continued to talk on their way to the city, it felt as though a weight had been lifted from her back... while it was only one of many, it felt nice that she didn't have to be completely secretive with Dallas anymore. Oh, and she had noticed the newest nickname... more were sure to come now that he had something new to work with.
Meanwhile, behind the group Din floated behind with everyone else in Temperance's party. The Kingdra, still very much a wild Pokemon tagged along, which gained the lake sprites curiosity. 'So hey, why're you following us?' She inquired; getting straight to the point. 'The female human you travel with, I sense potential in her. I wish to join her, but it appears as though you all were having a rough time; so I am following until I get the chance to ask her about joining.' He replied. Din quirked a brow. There was something odd about the Seahorses accent. it sounded... dignified? Well, she could tell the dragon was pretty strong himself. With a devilish grin she waved her hand, and summoned one of Temperance's pokeballs from her bag. 'Tempy will say yes, trust me.' The Kingdra looked between Din and Temperance. He seemed unsure of Din's prediction, but regardless decided if she would of indeed said no, he'd simply be released later.

And now that the touchy-feeling moment was all well and over, Dallas walked beside Temperance for town. It was strange; it felt far more comfortable and close now that they'd aired it all out, but it also felt like they hadn't skipped a beat. Other than the fact that his whole body hurt, the young man was in a pretty good mood. He listened as Temperance mentioned a woman named Umbra (Sounds like a name for a pokemon, he thought), and shrugged his shoulders. "Yeah, you probably should," he replied, "I mean, if it'll help. If this chick's back at your home, you might just have to lay low for awhile." He had done something similar from time to time, back when he had his run-ins with the law. "But hey, for all I know, those losers could be the best they got...speaking of, you should run me through who these guys are a little more. Like, they got a name or anything?"
If Temperance answered, all well and good, but Dallas wouldn't be too upset at a lack of info. It was more important that they get their story straight, as they were soon approaching a Pokemon Center. Dallas took the lead, and strolled up to the desk. "Welcome to the Pokemon Center!" greeted the nurse. 'How may I- OH MY GOODNESS!" The nurse caught a good look at the both of them, causing her to panic. "Oy oy, don't lose your s**t, lady," Dallas ordered gruffly. "Me and my pal here got jumped by some angry pokemon in the mountain, no big deal. Just get us and our pokemon checked out, alright?" He acted as chill as he could, even as he wiped some blood from his wound onto his pantleg. He glanced over at Temperance while the nurse called for extra help. "Remember, we were just attacked by some bisharp or something, alright? That's the story to stick to." He gave her a wink before he was pulled off into an observation room, and Temperance would soon find herself in the same way. ~~~~~~~~~~
Once his biggest wound was cleaned, stitched and bandaged, Dallas was allowed to pull out his phones and look through some messages while the nurse took care of some minor cuts and bruises. The first message he got was on Austin's phone from Isis. She was chipper as ever, by the feel of things, and was currently in Lilycove checking out contests there. And that dickweed Leon's there, too. Good, that must mean they're still going strong. Nice to know. He thought up how to put it, and sent off a message: "As always, your praise is the wind beneath my sails, Ms. Nikon! I hope you enjoy yourself in Lilycove along with Mr. Leon. I'm glad to see you two are enjoying the beauty of contests together! Give him by best, and take care yourself!
With that one sent, there was much more interesting one on his personal line: A message from Naomi. He blushed immediately, and carefully read over the message a few times. Nao-kun~...that goofball's doing pretty good! That's great! And now he's got a cutiefly? Man, I'm kinda jealous of that cute little twerp... He hesitated for a moment, and started to type out a response. Bout time u started getting stronger! I bet ur still no match for me tho. Temperance rested a somewhat tired smile on her lips as the duo continued to walk towards Hearthome. Dallas' mention of laying low, made her worried more so for her aunt and the girl left to be her double. If they knew Temperance wasn't the one sitting on the throne, her uncle could very well use this as an excuse to get more people on his side. Still, she had Umbra, whose word weighted heavily on the people, specifically of the city where she is the gym leader, and go-to adviser for the Duke. The blondes eyes flickered back to Dallas she gave a nod, then looked back to the road. "He calls his group Royale, but most know them as Team Royale." She replied. "He fancies the use of a deck of cards, calling himself the King of Spades, and his wife is the Queen of hearts. They have a daughter, known as the Jack of Clubs. I have only heard whispers about their Ace, he takes the suit of the Diamond." Temperance then went on to explain who they'd just fought, identified by the symbol on his jacket, The Ten of Spades, one of the higher ranking officers.
When they eventually reached the Pokemon Center, Tempernace's throat was feeling rather parched, so she left the talking to Dallas when they encountered Nurse Joy. She nodded in agreement to Dallas' story adding in a small bit about a land slide that had blocked Coronet's exit. With that the duo along with their Pokemon got a through look over. While Dallas was quickly taken away to get his injuries assessed, Temperance insisted that she just needed few bandages, and that she had to make a phone call that couldn't wait. Nurse Joy's Blissey happily aided her, bandaging her up in the various parts of her arms and torso that had received shallow cuts. 'For his first bout with blades, Dallas held his own rather well.' Temperance thought to herself, internally smiling at this thought. She was of course happy he wasn't severely wounded.
When the Blissey was finally okay with her work and Temperance was released, the blonde moved over to the video phones, calling Umbra. The Dark-type trainer was quick to answer her phone. Umbra didn't need to say anything; as Temperance felt she'd already know all about the attack. "They know don't they?" Umbra asked, her voice stern and... a bit cold. "Yes. We were attacked outside Mount Coronet." Temperance replied. Bowing her head some. "We? That boy you're traveling with was also involved?" Temperance nodded. "Is he okay? You really shouldn't involve him in this any more than you need to." Umbra advised, but this time Temperance shook her head. "No, Umbra. Even after being attacked, Dallas' resolve is to stick by my side." The blonde smiled a bit. "He wants a Morning Star." For a moment Umbra recoiled from the video phone, looking away. Temperance could tell she was trying not to laugh. "Temperance this isn't time to joke! Word is more members of Team Royale are heading to Shinnoh. You need to come home now! History be dam-" "No!" Temperance shook her head several times. "I cannot abandon hope. I will not be scared into hiding. Arceus is the only one who can save us." Temperance's voice wavered some, fighting back tears. Umbra settled in her chair, letting out a sigh. "A Morning Star was it?" Temperance's gaze lifted. Umbra was grinning slightly. "And maybe a new pair of clothes... for both of us." Temperance leaned in. "Dallas looks about the same size as Sir Walson, so that should make it easy to find some clothes for him." Umbra nodded. "Alright. Overnight clothing run in route. Where are you now?" "Hearthome City. We should be here for awhile." With that the two said their good-byes. She quickly got up and headed for the lobby to wait on Dallas, only to find he was waiting on her... she must of been talking longer than she'd thought. "Dallas." Temperance called, waving towards the male. "I contacted my friend. She's sending us some new clothes... and well, No promises on the Morning Star." The blonde joked. "How are you feeling? We should take it easy for awhile, don't want you to re-open your larger wounds."

When Temperance returned to the lobby, Dallas was lounging on one of the sofas, feet kicked up and his head back. He felt like ground beef, and he looked a little like it, too. But, when his new friend approached with some good news, he gave her a thumbs up. "Thanks a million, friendo," he replied with a yawn. "I mean, I'd think you'd have enough sway for some weapons, but whatever." he chuckled at his own joke, as well as Temp's, but quickly stopped when one of his wounds gave him a pointed reminder that he was injured. "Nngh..and yeah, I feel like s**t. I mean, that's fighting for ya, I guess." He gave the princess a once-over; she didn't seem to be in too bad of shape. "But hey, we lived, which means we win. Ain't nothin' but a thing, right?"
Though, it was definitely a thing. Team Royale, they were called. While Dallas had never heard of them before, it was clear that he was in over his head. He'd made a promise, sure, and he aimed to keep it, but what could be done? They're sending in more people, I'd guess, since they know that Temp is here in Sinnoh...and they know about Austin, and that I ended up helping her... He pulled out his Austin phone, and started swiping through his Chatot app. After some searching, he found a few of the pictures he had posted online, with himself and Temperance. And while looking through the likes, he recognized one of the faces, the plain-looking girl that had cornered him on the mountain. "Oh snap...so this is my fault." He rubbed his eyes, and looked over at Temperance. "So,I think I see how they found you: looks like one of my biggest fans was one of those nutjobs." He looked bummed at first, but a smirk crept on his face. "But if that's how they're keeping tabs on me and you, I could always throw some fake news their way..." He quickly attached a generic picture of Duchess, and jotted out a quick caption: Such a bother getting down Mt. Coronet with Duchess and my besty. I just hope Snowpoint City isn't too cold! #austintucksworth #furbaby #brrr!

It was good to see Dallas in such high spirits; to see him joking after all was said and done. Nurse Joy certainly did her job well, seeing Dallas bandaged up. It was also reassuring to see he wasn't to beat up, though in retrospect Temperance gathered this wasn't Dallas' first scrap. "Well, seeing as how we're in the modern age, weapons like swords and Morning Stars aren't all that common. I have my daggers for self defense only." Temperance stated, giving Dallas a cheeky smile in return. "Besides, without proper training I'm afraid you might hurt yourself before you hurt an opponent." That was a bit more harsh, but Temperance's grin made it all to obvious she was poking fun.
Sitting down on a couch adjacent to Dallas, Temperance' Pokemon closed in. Daphnes seemed to be closer than usual, as if trying to be more protective. Temperance leaned forward, brushing her hand along his bony head piece. It was then she heard Dallas proclaim something about it being his fault. Looking up she listened to him explain. "Dallas... Leading them astray (if that truely was how they were going to keep track of him and her) would work, but only for awhile. "Well, if this works, we might get a moments respite. As temperance stood back up, her smile returned. "How are you with churches?" She inquired, once more poking fun at him.
They couldn't really go anywhere until their new clothes arrived, however their wait wasn't going to be as long as Temperance had assumed, because as the blonde opened her mouth to suggest getting something to eat, since working up a sweat fighting had gotten her somewhat hungry again, there was an odd noise that drew her attention towards the entrance of the Pokemon Center, there stood a tall woman with dark, nearly black skin dressed in all black with gold accents. Her pure white hair hung in a pony which was nearly down to her waist. The woman turned towards the lobby searching for something until her eyes landed on Temperance. "Umbra." Temperance quickly spoke. She'd recognize her best friend without a doubt. Umbra quickly approached Temperance, a bundle in her arms. Following behind her was an Alakazam. No doubt borrowed from someone else in her tribe for it's Teleporting capabilities. "I wasn't expecting you to come yourself, Umbra." Temperance spoke up. "Of course I would be the one to come." Umbra replied, glancing over towards Dallas. "It's nice to finally meet the diamond in the rough. Or are you still a street rat?" Umbra's lips curled up into a grin as she tossed over a box towards Dallas. "These should hopefully fit. I wasn't sure about your... style, but anything is better than nothing? As for you, Temperance why fix what isn't broken?" She stated handing over a box to Temperance as well. "I shouldn't need to remind you that even if those albulda' know you are here you shouldn't go about drawing any more attention to yourself than is needed. To think they would attack you in public and with swords like barbarians."
Opening her box, Temperance found her outfit was very much the same as the one she currently wore. Which was all well and good for Temperance, given she was the one who picked out the outfit in the first place.

PJ lapsed into a thoughtful silence, and Ralward took advantage of the opportunity to get a bit more to eat. "So... he really will let me do contests....?" he murmured, "And maybe not even battle?""Mm, certainly if you don't want to. Contests may have to wait until it's convenient, however, I'm sure he'd be willing to assist whenever he can," Rawly explained simply. The pup pokemon seemed to smile, his tail wagging as he, finally, moved to get some food of his own. Ralward turned to the familiar sound of boots stepping into the cafeteria. Jay could be seen at the edge, hand on the doorframe, his head swiveling as he listened for signs of them. it seemed he was tuning in, some, to the other pokemon that were out and eating, but Ralward still sent him a mental message of where they were, before Koda to go over, and help him towards the food lane to get something for himself.
"Y'all been down here long? Thanks Koda," Jay said, sliding into a seat nearby with tray in hand, his wispard close by. He may not have been completely solid, but he still had enough presence (and chill in the air around him) that he could help Jay around. He gave a happy yowl in return, before bounding back to his food, swiping at his headphones to turn them on so he could enjoy some music with his meal. Ralward turned his focus from the leopard, back to his trainer. "Yes. I have simply been discussing PJ's role and goals with him," he conveyed professionally. Jay smirked in amusement. "His 'role'?" he repeated, brushing his fingers over the tray to grab his fork, before scooping up some food from memory. "Y'mean like, what he's int'rested 'n doin' 'n such?" For two people that had just survived a full on melee, it appeared that Dallas and Temperance had no problem throwing playful jabs at each other. The young man smirked at her comeback, and let it slide without too much provocation. "Please, I made it this far on zero training, and I just fought off those Spamalot rejects, so I think I got this." But, she had a point; he might just end up getting brained on the side of a dirt road some day if he didn't pick up his game a little bit. I guess I could go train some more, he thought. I bet I could find some two-bit hoods in this town to mess up for practice, but that's not really keeping a low profile... Before he could ponder on it for too long, Temperance was was already trying to cast away any sort of blame Dallas might have felt about the incident. He wasn't so used to being around people that could be so forgiving or unwilling to pass judgement; it really messed with him, in a way. But naturally, he kept his mouth shut about it; admitting that Temp was a friend was enough emotional crap for the hoodlum for now.
When Temperance started to talk of checking out the city, Dallas merely shrugged his shoulders. "Yeah, sure. The only reason I was gonna come here was for the contest hall, but I can't really compete like this." He motioned towards some of the scratches that were bandaged on his face. "Not until the ol' money maker is healed up. But yeah, I guess we can go goof off and check s**t out...Churches? Man, I haven't been to church since I was locked up, and that was only because I was bored to death." It was something he hadn't even really thought about, churches, religion especially. As far as he was considered, if there was something out there watching over them, it was doing a piss-poor job of dealing with him. "Seriously though, I doubt I'll burn up, so I'll go with you. Besides, we probably shouldn't split up any time soon. You don't know what might end up happening."[/color
Case in point: a tall, exotic-looking woman walked into the Pokemon Center carrying boxes, and she and Temperance appeared to know each other. Dallas didn't budge or even attempt to stand to be polite, and merely watched as the two interacted. I don't know why I expected anything different, he thought to himself. When Umbra addressed him, his inner street rat showed true. "Hey, who you callin' a street rat you- oof!" His insult was deflected by a box of clothing. Curiousness overtaking confrontation, he poked inside, and found some actual decent clothes in his style, albeit a bit out of date, fashion-wise. "Oh, uh, thanks a bunch there, babe." As Umbra and Temperance started to talk to each other, Dallas took the moment to sneak off into a room and get changed.
When he made it to his designated room, he found that Susan, Beltigre, and the rest were all there waiting for him (except for G-Money, who was far too big to take anywhere inside). They quickly surrounded their trainer and gave him hugs and kisses. "Hey! Get offa me, you pansies..." It was too cute for him to get upset at, though he eventually broke the embraces so he could get dressed up. I'm so proud of you, Dallas! proclaimed Meloetta. You fought for the good of another...I should write another song about this! Dallas cocked an eyebrow at that. "Another song?" She nodded, looking quite proud. Why, I've written two already; the vagabond becoming a hero is always a favorite of mine! All the thug could do was laugh at that, which made the Melody Pokemon pout. But strangely enough, Susan was very quiet. "Yo, Suze, what's the deal?' Susan kept her head down in a submissive fashion, and had a piece of paper in her claws. A flyer, to be more exact. Dalpha...since Susan and others such good Pokemon...can pack go to Spookival?"
"A what-ival?" Susan finally raised her head, presenting the flyer. "Is Spookival! 'Sc-ary-fun-for-whole-fam-i-ly.' See, Susan read paper, and paper say Spookival fun! Pack should go! Princess Temperature Stoneywall come too! Dallas took the flyer, and looked it over. "Man, this looks like little kid crap." Susan looked up and sniffled, trying to look as cute as her monstrous face would allow. Dallas frowned, and looked at the rest of the team. "Do the rest of you dorks wanna go to this thing?" They all gave their different agreements, and Dallas conceded. "Well fine,but we gotta check with Temp and her friend first-"
Before Dallas could stop her, Susan pushed by with the flyer back in her hands, and darted for Temperance. Princess Temperature Stoneywall friend! Susan found good paper for Spookival! She presented the flyer like it was the key to reclaiming the throne, only barely paying attention to the stranger with the blonde woman. Hallo, choco hooman! Susan is me! Temperance grinned at Dallas' response to her teasing. This sort of interaction... felt nice. It was just as if she was back home chatting and goofing off with Umbra. To think the first person she'd run into at the start of her journey was becoming a close and dear friend. Thankfully her friend was willing to tag along with her to the church in the city. "Great. I promise to make it a quick visit. I only need to ask the bishop a few questions pertaining to my reasoning for being in this region." Temperance explained.
It was then Umbra made her appearance, quickly handing over some boxes with clothes in them. While Umbra and Temperance lost themselves in conversation, Dallas had slipped off and gotten changed into this new clothes. Not long after he returned and with him his Pokemon, as well as Temperance's own companions. It wasn't until Susan turning into an intercom system that the two woman broke their conversation. "S-susan, calm down." Temperance pleaded, raising a hand to try and grab the paper Susan was holding so she could get a steady look at it. "And please, Susan. Refrain from calling me Princess Te- wait, did you say? Temperature?" Temperance was a bit puzzled at this, but Umbra was holding back laughter, a hand raised to her mouth. "Umbra!" Temperance pouted... With a quick roll of her eyes and a sigh she turned back to Susan. "Nevermind, just please don't use Princess, Susan." A soft smile returned to the blonde's lips as she finally got a look at the poster Susan was holding. "Spookival? Is that anything like the Dia Defestiva we have back home?" Temperance pondered. Umbra folded her arms, leaning in over Temperance's shoulder. "Looks like something similar. You should go. They might have costumes you could use to disguise yourselves for a bit. Given it's also in another region, perhaps that will take the heat off of you when you get back here." Umbra suggested. "Sadly I can't join you, though it is very tempting." She added, grinning something devious towards Dallas. "But I've got a city and a gym to run. Keeping those albulda' out of my city is getting harder and harder these days." With a sharp wave, Umbra turned back towards the Alakazam- who wasted no time teleporting her out of there.
Waving good-bye to Umbra, a somber look seemed to pass over Temperance's gaze before she turned back towards the group. "It was nice seeing her in person for the short while I had." Temperance smiled. "Why don't I go change and we can head to that Spookival?" Excusing herself before she could get an answer, it wasn't but a few minutes later that Temperance returned to Dallas and the group. "Okay, all set."

Susan couldn't hold back her excitement when Temperance agreed that they should go. YAY! SPOOKIVAL! SPOOKIVAL! SPOOKY-DOOKY KOOKIVAL! She hugged the blonde woman's waist tightlyas she gave more praise. Susan love Pri-Um,Normal Hooman Stoneywall! She would've gone on for some time if Dallas hadn't pulled her away. "Okay, okay, let's chill out, Susan." He glanced up from the hyper dracovoir and addressed Temperance and Umbra. "So yeah, I think it'd be a good way to lay low for a bit. Plus, I'm sure we could come up with some decent costumes when we get there; I'm kind of a badass with clothes n' crap." It would seem they were all in agreement, and just as soon as she arrived, Umbra and her Alakazam made their leave. "Smell ya later, Orora Munroe, thanks for the threads!" And once she was gone, Temperance excused herself as well. "Alright, just don't take too long, or Susan's likely to go berserk over here."
In the meantime, Dallas gathered up his pokemon (except for Susan, who refused to be balled). He rounded up all of his stuff into his duffel bag...and then, he got to thinking: I wonder if Naomi would go to something dumb like this? He pulled out his phone, and simply threw out a little bait to Naomi: Hey nerd check this crap out: [attached was a picture of the Spookival flyer.] Susan wants to go real bad so we're gonna check it out. Sounds like something lame you'd go to. You should come or not whatever. With the message sent, Dallas started on trying to figure out how to get to the Spookival. And around that time, Temperance came back. "There you are! I'm starting to get this crap figured out, I think. There's some sorta directions: 'Bubble bubble, toil and trouble, take us to Spookival.' What the ********, that doesn't even rhyme-"
Suddenly, the flyer burst into green flame, the ashes starting to swirl in a menancing spiral. A loud, kackling voice erupted in hideous laughter as the spiral became an engulfing portal. Susan hissed at the portal. No like laugh swirl! REEEE! But despite her protests, the entity got ever closer. "HEE HEE HEE! BUCKLE UP, MORTALS! NEXT STOP: SPOOKIVAL!" Not long after Temperances' return, Dallas focused on the flyer which held some sort of.. rhyme, if one could call it that. After he uttered the words on the flyer it quickly burned up and began to spiral around Dallas, Temp and their Pokemon. After a few moments, the group vanished, quickly being teleported to the main entrance of the Spookival.

Jay talked with his pokemon for a while, and he was smiling for most of it. PJ seemed... remarkably passionate about his interests in contests, and unlike Crystal, he didn't seem like he was going to be a brat about it. It was easy to comply with helping him, especially since Jay had no other particular goals going on at the moment. And as they were finishing their food, Ralward piped up on his own account to add in that, apparently, there was a sort of carnival going on. Halloween themed, though that wasn't exactly something Jay had to worry about as far as spooks and scares went, and it offered prizes, which, as Jay pointed out, meant they might be able to stock up some for PJ's contest goals.
They finished up their food, and looked into getting transportation, and shortly thereafter, they were on their way.

But they'd only gone a few feet before a squishy, jelly pokemon wiggled out onto the path before them. Agate, somewhat used to the routine she'd been forced to follow, stepped forward to take care of the pokemon, but stopped when Jinx held up a hand. "Opal." The Slowking looked up sharply. She didn't need to be a mind reader to know what it was the woman wanted, even though she was. "Oh no, I'm not here to actually--""You're a pokemon aren't you?" Opal shut her mouth, none too pleased with being interrupted by Jinx's rhetorical question. "So go and fight another pokemon. She was going to do what? This was news to her. Opal frowned, greatly displeased with the idea of having to fight; she had gotten this high in her rank so that she wouldn't have to resort to baseless savagery. Despite her extreme desire to not fight--out of sheer laziness rather than pacifism--she knew better not to argue. Sure, she could try and put her foot down, and have it her way, she knew nothing good, or productive, would come from arguing her point. They needed to get things done, and it was her job to assure that Jinx got her job done, and her job right now was to collect badges. She was willing to obtain her next badge, and she wanted to use her to do that. She couldn't be the reason why Jinx didn't do her job, it wasn't in her description to obstruct Jinx.
"...Fine." Opal conceded with a sigh, and stepped forward to take care of the pokemon. Thankfully, her internal dilemma had only taken seconds, which was enough time for the slow moving sentient goo to fully make its way in front of them. If she thought about it, it wasn't even that bad. From what she could tell only weak pokemon were attracted to the candle, so it wasn't as if she was exerting any effort. As if to prove this herself she stomped her foot against the ground, in frustration and to activate her attack, conveniently knocking out not one, but two, pokemon as earth erupted and cracked in a swift, jagged line, sending the first jelly pokemon onto its face as well as another, that had just started wiggling its way onto the path.
