Adjusting his stance, Zak got to texting Apollo back. Honestly, the timing was weird. He'd been in Unova a lot, it was where he usually was. So, if Apollo stayed there, they could probably meet up. But, really, he wasn't.... entirely sure how he felt about that. The man wasn't someone he knew that well, but he'd been.... promising. Mostly in giving him lots of pokemon. He did owe him for that... And as much as that brought a playful, sultry smirk to his face, it vanished soon thereafter. Zak's mood was.... all kinds of mixed. He couldn't settle into one, not even his default lascivious one. He looked away, then shook his head, finishing up the response, and sending it. At least he could pretend, till he cleared his head, and saw the man in person.

Shaking off his botherings, Zak put closed off his watch's communicator, and glanced over at Ten who was wriggling around the ground, working her jaw as if looking for something to chew. With a glance back over his shoulder, Zak ensured no one was watching, and grabbed one of the metal dumb bells to roll over to her. Of course, the wrenching, screeching sound of metal being torn to shreds got some sour looks from several people, but he ignored them and rolled his shoulders, moving back to his workout. He'd.... pay them back for the dumb bell, or something.

As he worked on his form and punched out some of the tangles wrapped up in his brain, Zak spared a few glances to Ten. She'd grown since she hatched... and now that he thought about it, he hadn't actually been able to spend a lot of time with her since then. When Daeva was born, she pretty much lived on his shoulder, but Ten was so much harder to just carry around, he hadn't been able to be with her much. He frowned some, pausing to fix his hand wraps and watch the little shark pokemon. She didn't seem to be suffering from it, at least... In fact, she seemed in remarkably good spirits, all things considered.

The message contained a heads up on incoming information, and his lips curled a bit. That meant telepathic communication, which was still weird for him. Years into this group, and it was weird. How could it not be? To have information leak into your brain, like letting water fall downt he back of your throat while trying not to swallow. Trickling in against your will, present, and now accessible as if you had actually learned it as fact somewhere. Unfortunately, he didn't have a whole lot of time left. He could feel the glares at his back, he could practically hear the tapping of an impatient foot, and to be fair, he'd worked most of his... tangles, out. He was still a bit knotted with his thoughts, but he could sort them out later. He grabbed his things and snatched Ten's chain, tugging her and lugging her off the ground. Arceus. She was ******** heavy now. She'd grown a good bit since she hatched but <******** hell. He was more dragging her along as she nommed on the remainder of the dumb bell, than he was actually able to pick her up. She didn't seem to mind too much, either, but when he stopped to pay, she wiggled around, and started snapping at his heels some, earning a scowl, and a light nudge to the face as he set her back down.

Pulling Ten along, Zak decided to actually check her information on when she'd evolve. Ie, when she would be able to move her own damn self. She settled down beside him as he came to a stop outside, again letting go of her to pull up her pokedex entry and read up. She grumbled, flapping her little flippers a bit, but making very little progress as far as movement. In fact, her energy suddenly seemed.... remarkably lower, and it caught his attention as he glanced down, frowning. He also noticed her exp share was broken... which, based on the entry, meant she should have evolved by now. So that was another of his pokemon that wasn't evolving in time, and now, looking at her, she seemed almost sick on top of it.

Groaning (or grumbling, rather) under his breath, Zak reached down and hoisted the pokemon up again. She was definitely heavy, but it wasn't.... impossible. He was probably just wimping out some. He could feel that dumb bell, though... Perhaps he shouldn't have fed her it. Looking around for signs of Meebus and the others, he headed into the pokecenter, sneering a little as he saw them there, getting treated. Nurse Joy looked up, apparently taking the expression as a sign of recognition. "Are these your pokemon?" she asked, straightening. "Da. And zis vone is sick," he replied, walking over without looking at the others. He noticed Meebus watching him, and then looking down at Ten, out of the corner of his eye, but he didn't spare the Rotom a look. "Oh dear... Please, bring it to the desk," the nurse requested, eying the heavy pokemon, before quickly moving to her station.

While Nurse Joy looked over a tired looking Ten, Zak turned, narrowing his eyes at the two water types before him. "While we wait.... vhy haven't you two evolved?" he drawled, ignoring a small static burst from Meebus. He figured the rotom was passively reminding him about his accent, and promptly ignored it. At the note, though, mudkip blinked, looking at him, and then giving a small, "Mud! before promptly.... beginning to glow. Zak's expression remained surprisingly passive as he crossed his arms over his chest, and watched the water type evolve. Marshtomp shook her head, before looking up at him, giving a "Shtomp!" in finale. He turned a lazy gaze to the gator. ".... Vell?" he prompted. Totodile blinked, before looking at Marshtomp, and then at Zak, and then back to the water pokemon. Before grinning, snapping his jaws, and promptly beginning to glow as well. He transitioned through his middle stage and all the way to his final one, grinning down at the other water starter with eerie purple eyes, and a very toothy grin. "Gaaaaaaaaatttttt," he grumbled, clearly enjoying the terrified look he was getting from his teammate. Marshtomp leaned away, shaking, but not backing up, and staring up in horror at the monstrosity that had just appeared from the brilliant glow. Zak, on the other hand, was smirking. "Zat's more like it."

From an outside perspective (one Zak was not currently capable of stepping back into), one might have been concerned just how many intimidating pokemon Zak was collecting. Daeva was the most obvious, being dangerous enough that even her trainer was keeping her on lock down until he figured out how to handle her. Now, however, he had a towering, rather intimidating and mad looking feraligatr, a whack-a-doodle looking blastoise, an Empoleon with a stare as cold as it's ice attack, and a semi-schizo Greninja. Not to mention a small, growing, metallic shark pokemon, that had just ate a dumb bell. But all he felt as he looked at his pokemon, was an egotistical satisfaction.

A short "Sir?" from behind him caught Zak's attention, and he turned back, lazily at first, but with more attention as his gaze fell to Ten, and he was reminded of the hatchling's illness. Though, he supposed she wasn't much of a 'hatchling' anymore... She was probably more at a young teen stage, as far as pokemon went. They seemed to grow really fast, for most of them. Daeva was, what? Two, going on three years, maybe? Certainly over a year old, but she acted like a rebellious teen. Ten was.... going on a few months now, seeing as he'd had her back at that... Renaissance fair, thing, but she was still somewhat infantile in her actions. Perhaps that was just her species, though....
Either way, he moved back to the counter, placing a hand on Ten and looking to Nurse Joy with a slight frown. "Your pokemon is fine. She's caught a small virus, however, it's not harmful to her. In fact, this virus has been known to increase a pokemon's strength. She may also be feeling ill due to stagnated growth... I can give her a supplement to help her evolve, if you like. I... assume you haven't done any training with her," she remarked, looking at Zak steadily. He raised an eyebrow, keeping his expression even, despite the defensive bristling he felt inside at the tone she used. "No, not yet. She was wearing an exp share," he explained, keeping his accent a bit more reigned in. She nodded, pulling out a syringe. "I assumed so. This should help her evolve, then, since she has little real battle experience. In the future, you should let her do some battling so that she can work through her own movements, and expand her capabilities. It facilitates evolution, especially for pokemon undergoing rapid growth," she recommended. She ran her hand along the pokemon, before jamming the needle in through the tough skin, earning, surprisingly, a twitch from Zak. He narrowed one eye, stiffening a bit, and trying to fight the reflex to punch her. It had been.... much more violent than he'd expected, but, logically, it made sense. Anklor's skin was pretty tough....
Ten wriggled in response, moving anxiously, but not thrashing about. As Nurse Joy pulled away, she began to glow, a light swallowing her up, and expanding. Zak took half a step back, turning his head, but glancing over through the corner of his eye to try and observe the evolution. As the light died down, a larger, much more ferocious form laid on the desk, which groaned under the weight. Ten worked her jaw, blinking slowly, remaining still as she seemed to adjust to her new size.

Zak was observing Ten, when he heard an angry flutter, a hit against somethign solid, and the doors open. He quickly turned, frowning, and then glancing around, noticing quickly that Rufflet had left. Furiously, apparently. Grimacing, he turned and grabbed the large handle-like fin protruding out of Ten's back, and hauled her off the desk. Only to immediately have his knees nearly give out as she plummeted to the ground. "Dermo!" Barely getting his balance, Zak recoiled his arm, rubbing his shoulders as he looked down. She was heavy as s**t now.... Arceus. That nearly dislocated his shoulder. Frowning, he turned towards the door, looking down at the metallic shark that gazed back up at him. "You can move by yourself now, da?" he drawled. She gave a grumble in response, but when he started walking, the... screeching sound of her trying to wriggle after him brought him to a halt. He turned, looking back at her, receiving the same open, passive look she'd given him as a baby. ".... Zat's not going to work," he decided. Sighing, he grabbed her pokeball. "I'll find you some vater soon, Ten," he promised, before recalling the pokemon, and heading out. Only to find himself face to face.... with a Braviary.

Ashley spent some time recollecting himself; he’d found a secluded area out of the sight of public and any other potential lurkers, summoning Bastien out to act as a sort of protector-ant against any further psychic invasions that might’ve followed from the previous interactions. He’d made his reports back to his superiors with less than savory results, and now was focused on the glow of his own laptop, tapping away rather steadily. He’d already contacted Dandy, so for now just needed to stay put until she gave the word that she was ready to meet. The more minimal the interaction, the better.
He’d let Cassiel back out, allowing the little fox to take up residence in his lap as he worked. He owed the thing some attention for saving him from a potentially lethal life ending situation, though if anything it reminded Ashley of the need to train his team as well. At least to counter cowardly tactics. Oh well, one thing at a time.
