Alexandra sighed as she stepped outside of the gym and back into the city, taking the time to fill her lungs deeply before she turned to look down at Siemens, who'd moved from off her shoulder to her wrist. He turned all four eyes up to her curiously and then squeaked, eager to move on. "I understand," the brunette mused, though the feel of light-heartedness quickly dimmed when she remembered the advice Aja had given her about making herself scarce. Though she had no reason to trust the young woman, she truly had no need to stay any longer in Veilstone; she'd accomplished all that she'd set out to do. With a bit of encouragement Alexandra had Siemens return to resting on her shoulder, a far more safer perch in her eyes, and made to head back into the direction of the pokecenter when, from behind her, she heard a shout.
With a quirked eyebrow Alexandra turned around slowly, chocolate orbs dilating and then narrowing when she located, and identified, the source of the sound to be Aja-- speak of the devil. "Hey there, Alex!" the long-haired woman greeted, slowing to a stop just in front of the other. Alexandra opened her mouth, prepared to tell Aja that only a select few could refer to her as that, but quickly found herself interrupted before she could even utter a word. "You just finish with the gym? That's great, perfect timing!" Aja exhaled slowly, seeming to congratulate herself on... something. "I've got a favor to ask you!" she admitted, the outburst catching Alexandra off-guard. "..Yes?" she replied slowly, wary of what this 'favor' could be.
"I'd like for you to head out with me for a little treasure hunting expedition!" Aja explained, though quickly found herself frowning when what followed her exclamation was simple silence. "Well?" Alexandra stared at the woman, trying to decide if she was serious or not, before she shook her head. "No thank you," she replied, words clipped. Aja huffed and folded her arms, clearly displeased with the rejection. "Aw, why not?" she inquired, a pout managing to wiggle itself onto her previously formed frown. "Because, I have prior engagements. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to heal my pokemon." Alexandra bowed her head, a clear indication that their conversation had come to an end, before she promptly turned around to head towards the Pokecenter, at long last.

Though Alexandra had made it very clear that she had no interest in continuing her conversation with Aja it seemed the young woman was oblivious to social cues, or at the very least was determined to get her way. "Why don't you just.. push those 'prior engagements' back and join me for a little bit?" the woman suggested, needing only to take a few strides before she'd caught up with the brunette, much to her chagrin. "I'd rather not," was her simple, polite, reply. Aja smacked her lips and then ran her fingers through her hair before she took another few steps forward, passing Alexandra, and then spun around so that she was walking backwards and facing Alexandra. "What if I were to beg you?"
This continued on during the entire walk to the pokecenter, and certainly didn't stop when Alexandra entered the building, though at the very least Aja had the decency to put a pause to her insistent pleading long enough for Alexandra to communicate to Nurse Joy she wanted her pokemon healed. Unfortunately, it started back up the second Alexandra received the last of her pokeballs. "Why are you so insistent on me joining you?" Alexandra asked wearily once they were back outside, on the edge of losing her patience. "Oh, well that's an easy one!" Aja perked up at the question, for some odd reason, but before she could start in on her explanation a shout rang out, and both girls turned their head in that direction.
"You little thief! I'm going to wring your neck out!" Alexandra pursed her lips at the threat, though whatever confusion she felt was drowned out by the fear of seeing a hulking figure of a man stomp towards her, a Jinx accompanying him. "Tch..." Alexandra turned to Aja who, rather than look frightened simply appeared annoyed. "Found me already..." Before Alexandra could react Aja gave a whistle, a sharp sound that pierced the air. A cry from above followed and from the air a Tropius landed, acting as a barrier between the two girls and the furious man closing in on them.
"What are you waiting for?" Alexandra looked up, confused, to suddenly find Aja on top of the pokemon, her arms wrapped around its neck. "If you think he's just after me, you're wrong. I bet that Jynx of his has already told him about you." That piece of information was enough to jar Alexandra out of her temporary stupor and, with only a spark of anger, the young woman quickly scrambled onto the Tropius, Aja lending a hand to help get her situated properly. "Hang on!" Aja instructed and a moment later their 'ride' had taken off, leafy wings beating against the air to get them up higher. A sense of nausea ran through Alexandra in the same moment as she moved to grab onto Aja, her arms looping around her waist in a death grip; she hated flying...
"E-easy there." Aja winced, though she didn't dare try prying Alexandra's arms from around her. Instead she adjusted herself, as best she could, and spared a glance down at the ground, where the man was now shouting, at both them and his Jynx to prepare an attack that would land them. Aja heaved a sigh in annoyance before, from her bag, she pulled out a round object. Sticking out her tongue she aimed at the Jynx before she chucked the object down, a grin appearing when she hit her target. It was enough to startle the Jynx and break its concentrating, which gave them the perfect opportunity to make their escape and with some encouragement down to Tropius the three--four, if you counted Siemens--were out of range for any attack. "Next stop, Snowpoint~"

Mel shrugged a bit. "Maybe. There are a few really decent moves she could learn. Thunderpunch, for instance.... Focus punch. Gunk shot, hell, even fire punch. If I could get enough heartscales, Lucy here would have one heck of a moveset," she remarked, flashing a smile to the chimchar, who was perking up more and more with interest. Brian raised his eyebrows and nodded his head a bit. "Huh... Well, maybe you can find some in Castelia? I bet there are some shops with them," he commented. Mel nodded, finally closing her book. "That's what I'm thinking, too. In the meantime, though... let's get some food," she suggested, smiling and gesturing as they finally reached Veilstone City.

Putting her book away, Mel headed for one of the closest restaurants, but stopped when she noticed Brian wasn't with her anymore. She looked back, frowning when she noticed him very much locked into place a foot or so back. "What--" she started, though she was fairly certain she already knew the answer. "What if... What if we get a waitress?" he asked, gesturing at the place, looking uncertain. She sighed. Yup. "Ian come on. It's not like she'll touch you," she argued, giving him an exasperated look. "That's not what I'm worried about..." he muttered, shifting in place. She rolled her eyes. "No, I know. You're worried about being within a bloody basketball court's distance of her," she replied. He paused. "Football field, actually," he muttered, giving a joking smile in an attempt to lighten the matter. Mel gave him a blunt stare.
"I'm hungry. I'm going in," she stated flatly, jerking her thumb back to the place. Brian deflated a bit. "Can't we just eat at the cafeteria in the pokecenter?" he asked, giving a wide gesture towards the building, "We're probably going to be sleeping there anyway!" Mel dropped her head to one side and gave him a stare. "You do realize there's probably going to be a Nurse Joy there, right?" she pointed out. Brian paled a little. "Y-yeah, but... she's probably not going to be the one serving the food..." he argued weakly. Mel rolled her eyes, made a face, and placed a hand on her grumbling stomach, but looked off to the side.
"Fine... Fine. We can go to the pokecenter. You owe me a nice meal, though," she muttered. He perked up, grinning. "You got it!""And we're waking up early to get the first train to Castelia," she added, pointing a finger at him as they headed for the center. He pouted a bit at thtat, though. "Eh, fine..." he muttered.

Lafayette gave a yawn as Dova roughly landed down in Veilstone. He took a moment to study the isolated city, noting the mountain walls companioned up with giant city rock walls. It was a rather secluded place to honest and for moment he felt rather alone in the area. With another yawn, he returned Dova and set off to find the gym area. A small tugging at his pants stopped him though, and he glanced down at Cheri.
The little Espurr stared at him before promptly pointing to his bag. Lafayette frowned, eyebrow raising before he dug around and handed her what she was looking for. Apparently, she’d noted he had a bunch of items on himself as well and wanted to hand those out too. He let loose his pokemon once more, something that surprised Dova –she’d just been returned, were they leaving already- but soon it became clear what was going on. The blonde watched with a bit of confusion as Cheri dug out some glasses and gave them to Dova. The Noivern blinked but for a brief moment looked stunned at the clarity she was no afforded in her sight.
Was … was that why she couldn’t land properly? Was his dragon… like… partially blind or something? Lafayette wasn’t sure what to make of that thought, as Cheri ruffled through his bag and gave him a stare. Apparently, she wanted him to go shopping to get more items at some point. For now though, she’d done something that she felt needed to be done and gave him the go ahead to return his pokemon. Noah just watched everything in confusion. This lack of word communication was rather unnerving. Lafayette frowned and nodded, promptly returning Dova and retrieving his bag, heading once more to find the gym.

AND AGAIN, Lafayette found his way to the gym by locating the insignia. He pretty much had it committed to memory by now which was good; there was no reading a map or anything to get him there quicker. Walking in side, he quirked an eyebrow at the sight of what appeared to be actual gym equipment and even boxing rings. For a moment he was enthralled; he actually kind of wanted to give one of them a go. He stood and watched a moment as a couple sparred with one another, before continuing on to explore.
It was a surprise really when he stumbled up on the battle field, watching as a young woman seemed to practice different fighting techniques. She spotted him and stopped though, a grin quickly spreading across her face. ”Hello there! Pleased to meet you.” She remarked, swiping a thumb under her nose as Lafayette returned a nod. ”I bet you’re here for a gym battle. I hope you take it seriously, my team is strong.”
He’d heard that a lot. Stifling another yawn –the blonde was … was really getting tired for some reason- he stepped up to battle, pulling a pokeball off his belt, ready to battle as Maylene did the same.

"Haaaaaah," Maylene gave a rather heavy sigh as her last pokemon fell, seeming to deflate with her lungs. She righted herself back up, however, rather quickly at that and produced a wide grin. "Thanks for the work-out, that was exactly what my pokemon and I needed!" She didn't seem all too upset about her loss though, that was to be expected; gym leaders had to lose in order for a trainer to continue forward. "Here, take this." With an underhanded throw the pinkette tossed Lafayette his badge, and then a disc. "The Cobble badge and Drain Punch, hopefully they'll be of some use to you." With her grin still visible the woman turned to head to the back, assumingly to heal her pokemon, though stopped to look back at Lafayette. "You should stick around for a bit, test yourself in the ring. You look like the type who could go a few rounds."

Lafayette gave Maylene a weary smile, though perked up out of his slight stupor of sleep to catch the badge and disc as they were tossed his way. He eyed them curiously, grin returning once more as she congratulated him and mentioned that maybe he ought to test his strength in one of the rings. He glanced back at them and honestly considered the suggestion; it would certainly be fun to test his skills against some training professionals.
But maybe another time. He had to heal up his team and get moving onto the next region actually. With a sigh, he gave Maylene a little smile and a wave. "Thanks shelia, but maybe anotha' time." He murmured and headed out the gym. He paid a quick stop to the pokemon center to get everyone healed up, nearly dosing during the wait. Goodness, what was going on? Why was he so tired all of a sudden? Whatever the reason, he’d have to push through. He had quite a bit to get out of the way before he could take a nap.
Once his team was returned to him healed and whole, he stepped back outside and unleashed Dova. She was still wearing those glasses that Cheri had put on her, looking terribly…. Dorky in them to be honest. He shook his head though and gave her a pat on the head, before hauling up on her back and setting off for the next destination. He was rather grateful he had the ability to fly… even if the going was rough.

► Several weeks had passed since the Renaissance Fair and the emotional fiasco that had occurred there for everyone involved. Since the distortion world Yukie had been in a coma. Yukie had stuck her head and passed out in all the chaos that had taken place in the moments leading up to their escape. As a result Verka had carried her to safety seconds before the portals closed. It had taken nearly a month for her body to fully recover form the injury but her mind remained locked in a dream like stat.
Team Royale having no further use for a vegetable released her of her position within the organization but sought to further an experiment through the use of her body. To that end everything she had done sense the distortion world had been the handy work of her Ghastly whom had possessed her body and acted upon the direct order of the king. His scientists acted as puppeteers pulling her strings and making her do as they desired to push the boundary's of mind control.
They controlled her every physical action but in a subtle and disturbing fashion. As Yukie dreamed they feed into that illusion allowing Yukie to blind reality with her unconscious minds perception of the world around her. As described by one, it was like giving subtle pushes to a sleep walker. The dreamer never realized they where dreaming. But in their efforts to push further into the unknown they made a mistake. The alcohol Yukie had ingested weakened the Ghastly's grip over the now drunken body it was piloting and Yukie slowly began to regain control. In the end the experiment was called off and Yukie was promptly returned to Verka who had become her caretaker while he waited for Yukie to wake up and it was only a matter of time before she would ...
In the mean time Verka had been gathered quite the financial backing from the organization. In exchange for the use of Yukie's body for the experiment Verka had been compensated, greatly. He did so knowing the greed any one would view him as having for "selling" his friend and potentially lovers body but his view differed. If Team Royale has no further use of her as a member then they could at least support her in the end she woke up. After all she no longer would be getting payed for her work. Conversely if Yukie remained as she was it was truly harmless to use Team Royale to support himself. Yukie being the selfish a** she was would understand the logic in Verkas actions. She was practically a walking, breathing, eating corpse after all. Beside in the event she woke up, as she was about to, it would mean they had something to live off of until they could support themselves.
Yukie currently lay on a thick and fluffy futon mattress Verka had set out and lined with pillows. A comforter was draped over her in small one bedroom apartment. Verka sat in a chair by the window, Yukies Rattata in his lap and Spearow on his shoulder as read a book. He'd been waiting close by for the last few days for Yukie to open her eyes. He missed the chance. Yukie's eyes slowly drifted open and her arm shifted to rub the sleep away and she pushed up. Verka slapped the book closed and moved to her side. "Sleep well?" He asked in a hush wisper. Yukie felt like she'd been dropped kicked by a ponyta. "I ache, all over." She replied not taking any notice of whom she was talking to.
Looking up and seeing Verka's face Yukie's eyes widened as her breath was caught for a moment in her chest. "Your dead~" Yukie stuttered softly Verka set a hand on her shoulder and the other on her hand. "You've been asleep for a very long time and you've been dreaming. Ill explain soon enough. For now lets get you dressed and feed hu ?" Yukie nodded before looking about the room for a moment in confusion then down at herself. She was dressed in a white nightgown. "Who dressed me?" Yukie manged to ask making Verka stop dead. "I did." He replied offering a hand to help Yukie to her feet. "Pervert." Yukie retorted once to her feet. "What you don't trust me?" Verka let Yukie lean on his shoulders as he lead to way. "Did i say that ?" Verk smiled knowing Yukie was at least unchanged.

► Once Yukie was dressed in something more comfortable then a night gown and had something to eat suitable to her vegan diet Verka began to explain, in detail, everything that had transpired since being put in the coma. Yukie seemed rather bland to the whole affair of being a living puppet at least up to the part where Akela become involved. She felt outright disgusted with the idea of being someones "slave" for any length of time because of some stupid wager. The alcohol had made her down right stupid or at the very least impaired the Ghastly's ability to control her actions. It was made worse due to the fact that if she somehow was put into that situation and lose that same bet she would have gone through with it all the same. Her sense of morals most have remained active through the fog of alcohol. "Thank Arceus you pulled the plug." Yukie said finishing off the last of a Vegetable sub sandwich.
Hearing it all made things easier to deal with. She had no real hard feelings with what Verka had done. In the end it was the best option open to him and now because of it she was free of Team Royale's control, at least for now. She knew it would only be a matter of time before the king reenlisted her, perhaps by force. For now she was free to go and do as she pleased. Best of all the king had so graciously, if not stupidly, expunged her and Verka's records and thus nether of them where technically wanted anymore. He held no real leverage over them now unless he resorted to death threats and Yukie highly doubted he'd do that. If anything she'd be facing a "sibling" in a life or death battle one day, if he refused to request to rejoin.
"Well i wasn't about to just hand over my Yukie on a silver platter." Verka remarked gathering Yukie's trash from her lap and cleaning up whatever else needed to be. "My Yukie, so what you think you own me now too?" She asked sarcastically. She knew with everything Verka had done for her over the last half year she had no real place to argue a life data. Verka had stopped what he was doing to gage Yukie expression before responding but Yukie cut him off. "I suppose i do owe you though." She said smiling as she flexed a hand. Reflexes where sluggish. She'd not moved in a while. That explained the fatigue and full body ache's. "I can't argue with someone i blatantly owe my life too." Yukie's smile softened as she looked up. Verka had restricted her from getting up otherwise she would have but given how she felt it wasn't worth the risk of collapsing.
"What no witty banter, no sarcasm, no snide remarks ?" Verka ask as he stepped in front of Yukie and loomed over her. Yukie took in a deep breath honestly intimidated by the man for the first time ever. There was something about him in that moment that sent a cold shiver down her spin. Perhaps the feeling of being helpless if he opted to use force to get what he wanted or maybe it was something shed only unconscionably taken stoke of. The memory that he'd protected her seem more like a restraining leash then a reminder of his affections and caring. The breath was held until Verka leaned over and felt her forehead. Yukie blinked a few times before it dawned on her what he was doing. "Get off me a** hole." She snapped slapping the mans hand away. "Im not sick!" Verka recoiled back holding both hands up defensively.
Yukie took note of his body language in the moment. It meant Verka still feared Yukie's ability to inflict pain on others. "Woh, now. No need to get violent." Verka said side stepping Yukie's legs and sit next to her. "Its not like you to just agree with people." Yukie had to agree, mentally. No way she going to openly admit that and confirm his assumption of her nature, at lest not so bluntly. It was no fun if she just handed him all the answers. "You protected me. How is irrelevant." Yukie began leaning into Verka's shoulder and wrapping an arm around his. "You barely knew me and yet you saved me. Im not going to argue it." Verka chuckled softly. ► With so much having happened in such a short amount of time and to find out most if not all of it wasn't of her own choosing, it was little surprising then that Yukie cling to Verka. He'd had remained a constant, just out his view but always watching over her. Yukie was however torn between believing Verka was only repaying the data of his freedom and wanting to truly trust him. Trust came hard though because of her past however. In Yukie's mind due to her past experiences people didn't normally act out of character unless there was something to be gained. Verka wasn't selfish but nor was he self sacrificing. It wasn't a leap to think he'd willingly saved her from the distorted world but to hold firm and attempt to bargain with the king ? Then again Verka had no idea the full extant of the kings reach. There was no easy way of finding out for sure, well none that came to mind.
Yukie pushed off the couch and back onto her feet to stretch. Verka didn't budge, just sat and watched with a smile. Yukie took note of his attire. Baggy pants, shoulder tight mid-coat and a double cut coat tail made up the bulk of his cloths but it was all accented with bronze tribal ornamentation's. "What are you wearing anyway?" She asked snidely. Leaning over and grabbed a sizable disc, one of two on the mid-coat, and pulling it up slightly. It was etched with ornamental writing that encircled it but of which was separated into three sets divided from the others by a half circle. She couldn't read any of it. "Whats the matter, you don't like my clothes ?" Verka asked gripping Yukie's hand and pulling it off the metal disk. His grip on her hand was gentle but firm. Verka stood still holding Yukie's hand only now tightening the grip. A chill ran down her spine. "Just wondering if you reflect light like a disco ball is all." Yukie remarked earning a chuckle from Verka as he let go.
"I have a question, why are we staying here again ?" Yukie snapped nearly an hour later. Boredom had fully set in. Verka had began to weight train. That explained how he'd gotten so much stronger then she remembered. "Your suppose to be resting still." Verka said as he set the dumb bell's down and wipes the sweat from his face. <******** that iv been resting for nearly six months. I want to get back out and travel damn it !" Yukie got in Verka's face scowling. She wasn't sure if she could take him in a fight anymore. He was twice her size in muscle mass alone. Even with pressure points one good hit and she wasn't likely to get back up. Good thing then she was bluffing. Verka and Yukie remained locked in a staring contest of sorts for nearly a full minute before Verka relented. "Fine, pack up." Yukie pulled away actually shocked it had been so easy.
"For real?" The words escaped her lips before she had chance to think. "What part of i doubt "i could control you" don't you get numbskull?' Yukie stepped out of his way as he moved to past her. She was blushing slightly. Had she just proven he wasn't acting for his own self interests ? "So what, your just going to give me whatever i want?" Yukie asked following in his wake. "If you give me what i want, sure." The words struck hard. What did he want? Before Yukie could ask though Verka turned to face her holding up two backpacks and Yukies poke'ball belt. "Sides, your not that hard to read. I already knew before hand you'ed not be able to sit still for long. So i prepared these." Yukie wasn't able to come up with anything sarcastic to say on the spot. Verka had called her bluff and countered it. "Th-thanks." She said solemnly taking both. "Im picking where we go though." Yukie scoffed and almost had time to snap a "like hell" but Verka was faster. placing a single finger over her lips to silence her. "We're going to Celestic town, or we can stay here." Noel yawned as they hopped off the train, Algernon doing the same in his arms. Train rides always made him so sleepy, but he was in Veilstone now and he needed to get his way to Solaceon Town. He wasn’t entirely familiar with Sinnoh though so the first step would be to get a map or something to help him out. And the best place for that? Either the pokemon center or the pokemart. Since his team was just recently healed, he opted to go to the pokemart for that. Plus, he could use checking for some items as well.

Veilstone City was basically built into a mountain, or if anything a rocky plain. That was one of the first things Noel noticed when they arrived; the mountains towered in the distance, shading the sun from time to time, chilling him a bit. It was cold and isolated feeling; the quicker he moved along the better. He found the pokemart and headed inside, finding himself a map and browsing the selection of items as well. They had a few little knickknacks that caught his attention and he opted to purchase them. He walked up to the counter and paid for the items, before tucking them away in his bag and heading out with map in hand. Okay, he was set!

It looked like he was in luck. The Solaceon ruins were connected right Solaceon Town -gee that made a lot of sense- which was just a town over from where he was now. So, it was just a little walk to there and then a walk to the ruins. He could manage that. He folded the map up and stored it away in his backpack before retrieving Algernon once more and making for the route that would lead them to Solaceon Town.
