Due to the genius of the Sinnoh league Jinx and co. didn't spend more than fifteen minutes in Hearthome, and that time was simply spent traveling through it; thankfully for the citizens of Hearthome they'd return, eventually, after all that was where the fifth gym leader was. Even though it was the next city one could visit after Eterna, the second gym, which made absolutely no sense. Why wouldn't it be home to the third gym leader? It made sense, you'd want to keep a sequence going wouldn't you? And yet the third gym leader was located in Veilstone City, which could be reached once you left Pastoria, a marshy city home to the fourth gym leader; there was going to be an annoying amount of backtracking in the future.
As irritated as she was, Jinx trudged on. There wasn't much that she could do about it, and it just meant that Opal had more time to train. All she knew was that they'd be up against fighting-type pokemon, not the exact species, and the last thing she needed was for her to have to repeat the challenge because, somehow, her pokemon were overpowered. Checking in on Opal's progress, Jinx watched her take care of yet another pokemon. It was just a shame that the candle didn't attract any stronger dragons, it would've made things go that much faster.
As if Arceus itself had heard her thoughts, a bulky figure flew across the sky, casting a shadow over the group. Jinx jerked her head up, catching only a glimpse of colors before the creature landed heavily on the ground beside them. It was certainly a dragon alright, with gigantic red wings atop an equally large, blue body. With a swivel of its head the beast settled its gaze onto Jinx, and stared long and hard at her before looking to Opal; it completely ignored Agate and Sphene, which relieved the former while angering the latter, what? Just because he was small he wasn't considered a threat?
"Oh." The scrunched up face Opal had started to make relaxed, and she released the breath she'd been holding. She turned to Jinx. "This is--""Kaeden's gift!" Jinx exclaimed, before running up to the pokemon and wrapping her arms around its neck, in a semi-hug. Opal failed to retort, her surprise robbing her of her words.

Jinx tilted herself back, just far enough so that she could hang from the pokemon's neck, to get a proper look at it. It looked back at her, with an expression devoid of emotion. "He got me something to fly with~" she breathed, before releasing the dragon from her grip. Rather than step away, however, she circled the creature, amazed at its size, and in the process of her examination she noticed a small pack strapped to the pokemon's back. A vague idea of what was contained within the pack, she wasted no time in getting in close enough to unzip the bag and pull from out of it her pokedex.
Without hesitation she turned the machine on and pointed it towards the dragon, and immediately it came to life and began spouting off several, generic descriptions, in a robotic voice. But, of the four the pokedex provided, only two stood out to Jinx. "Mega Salamence, the Dragon Pokemon." How original. "Anyone standing in its path gets sliced right in two, while this Pokémon continues its flight without interruption." She paused to look at the wings of Salamence, so not only were they large but they were deadly, that was fantastic. Once she'd gotten a decent look, she allowed the 'dex to continue, "Mega Evolution fuels its brutality, and it may even turn on the Trainer who raised it. It’s been dubbed “the blood-soaked crescent.”." From there the pokedex grew quiet, leaving behind an ominous silence. Jinx pursed her lips gently, though what she was thinking about was anyone's guess. All were still, save for Sphene who'd gone back to finding flammable items for himself.
"I think I'll call you Tanzanite, Tanz for short," Jinx proclaimed. From directly behind her, Opal started coughing -- choking, really.

Opal slapped her chest while an unconcerned Jinx continued to look up in wonder at the newly named Tanz, who stared at the woman, unmoving. Since this was a pokemon from Kaeden, it was only right that she give it a nickname, and while she didn't truly care for keeping with Opal's theme she did like the Tanzanite gem, it was the only uncommon gem that she knew by name. She'd have to thank her brother the next time they spoke (which would hopefully be tonight), but until then she'd make good use of her newest member. She stretched up onto her toes to pat Tanz's forehead, which prompted her to swing her tail back; some form of acceptance.
While Opal cleared her throat, and Agate gingerly patted her back, Jinx strolled over to Tanz's side, looped one arm around her neck and hefted herself onto the pokemon's back. There was just enough room between her wings and the base of her neck for one or two humans, maybe three if one of them was small. She was conscious enough to return her team, and waited long enough for Opal to begrudgingly fight off a small bat, before she prodded Tanz to get her to take into the sky; she actually didn't know if it would work, but it was a good a guess as-- With a reverberating roar Tanz shot off into the air, setting Jinx's heart off and forcing her hair back as the wind buffeted her face. For several seconds she forgot to breathe, but remembered to suck in air once they'd broken through the clouds. Unable to help herself she looked down, and found herself giddily dizzy when she saw just how high up they were.
