Off the beaten trek, a small, seldomly-used path cuts to the east. For those adventurous souls willing to explore every nook and cranny of Sinnoh, this is definitely an interesting place.

Sendoff Spring is an area accessible via the Spring Path. It is known as the "fourth lake of Sinnoh that was kept secret", and is said by some to be where the deceased go to journey to the world beyond. On the shore of the lake in the center of the area is the entrance to Turnback Cave, where the link between the Pokémon world and the Distortion World is weaker.

                                                  The journey took a couple of hours, going from one region to another but the Swellow managed to touch down at Sendoff Springs in early twilight. MD slipped off the creatures back and gave the bird a grateful pat on the side of the neck, fishing into his bag and offering the creature a few berries he’d managed to pick up along the way as reward. The bird pokemon eyed the offering a moment before chirping and accepting it, snapping them up with a few quick pets. MD grinned and patter her again, watching as she took off once more to more than likely assist in the egg hunt that was still going on. He had access to the pager to call for a ride once all was done after all, but he certainly didn’t intend to make that call so soon. Turning around, he stood in place and took in the sights a moment. This was a rather tranquil place wasn’t it?

                                                  MD stretched and turned, unleashing Jubilee and Uriah just as he had promised. The pair appeared in their Zorua forms, each shaking their fur out before finally morphing into their respective illusions. Which made sense to be honest, it would look odd if human beings suddenly appeared from pokeballs and all. Jubilee let out a cheerful squeal, stretching her limbs a little more while Uriah folded his arms over his chest and looked around.

                                                  "So… where are we exactly?" He inquired, eyeing the other man curiously while giving side glances at Jubilee to make sure she didn’t flee off somewhere. She had a nasty habit of disappearing if you gave her the chance; almost fitting given what their trainer’s hobby was.

                                                  "Sendoff Springs apparently." MD remarked, pulling out a map of the area that he’d retrieved as well. The zorua twitched his ears, an uneasy look crossing his face as folded arms tightened a bit.

                                                  "Oh."

                                                  "What? It’s a nice looking place." MD remarked, starting to move a bit to walk, eyes still on the map. "If you don’t have a problem with like departed or anything like that…"

He was certain that Faraday wasn’t nearly as comfortable with being in this area either, but he knew the man was curious about the strange hoop that’d gone and attached itself to his wrist a while back. There wasn’t much of a way to remove it either which was probably why now, this was his focus. Oh sure, not getting… caught and thrown away in the darkest areas of a cell was cause for concern or figuring out who and how he’d been framed were probably important, but this hoop thing? Right at the top of the list.

                                                  The Zorua shifted his gaze to the sky, frowning at the sun was slowly beginning to fade. Whatever searching Faraday was looking to do would either need to be done quickly or they’d need to camp out until morning came. Apparently, the man was looking to do the former, tucking away the map and glancing back at his team.

                                                  "Alright you lot. We’re splitting up. Do some looking and see if you can find anything sort of… archaic? Something to help." Uriah frowned at the lack of descriptive information on what to look for, glancing at Jubilee who looked less concerned about it. "What makes you think we’ll find anything here?"

                                                  "Well… I get the feeling we’re here because the original owner of this hoop… isn’t with us anymore. But I can’t say for sure." Faraday pointed out with a frown, noting the uneased look that crossed the Zorua’s face again. It was a hunch, given the location and there was no point in trying to sugar coat the possibility.

                                                  "Either way though, hints are nice and Addison suggested this place had something to it for a reason. So, take a look and be careful. I hear the pokemon around here are rather tough." He let out Murphy, Chromie and Dresden before gesturing to divvy up the teams. "Jubilee, you take these two with you. Uriah, you and Dresden go together to check over there. Annndd…. Sissil and I will check across the lake." The Magikit appeared as his name was spoken, latching onto the man’s shoulder and giving a curious look. Dresden folded his arms over his chest, giving the Zorua a matching leery look that he was himself receiving before giving a slight nod in agreement to the team up. And of course, Jubilee cheered, promptly swiping the Charmander and Mudkip up and under her arms.

                                                  "You got it boss man! C’mon guys, get your detective caps on, we’re on a hunt for mysteries!" Jubilee chimed excitedly to the pair, Chromie and Murphy giving little cheers before beginning to quickly tail after her. Uriah simply ‘hmph’ed still looking annoyed but sulked after Dresden as the rabbit took the lead in hopping off in their own indicated direction.

                                                  With everyone set in their search, Faraday headed off to the opposite side of the lake. To be honest, he didn’t want to admit his own weariness about this search. Looking around a place where the dead apparently came to head off to the afterlife was well… creepy. And rather disconcerting. If there was anything that screamed ‘wait for ghosts to appear and harass you’ it was a place like this.

                                                  Which was admittedly, why he’d set the search teams up as he did. Uriah and Jubilee would be able to sense and deal with ghosts accordingly being dark types and while he would’ve loved to have taken Dresden on his team, he didn’t want anyone going on their own. Oh sure, Jubilee and her crew might’ve been a little on the naïve side but… Murphy was strong in her own right and could help if danger showed its face. Dresden and Uriah worked well enough together and that left Sissil to accompany him.

                                                  The Magikit seemed to notice the thoughts going through, grip tightening a bit on his trainer’s shoulder as he gave him a curious look. An easy smile crossed the man’s lips and he raised a hand to rub the ghost kitten on the side of the head. "You alright there buddy? Sensing anything odd?" The Magikit gave a mewling and just tensed further, giving an uncertain shake of his head. The magician frowned, uncertain what to make of that response.

                                                  "Hm…, well you let me know if anything shows up, alright?" Faraday murmured, dropping his hand away and retrieving a deck of cards from his pocket. He was feeling fidgety and absently began to shuffle the deck in his hands as they walked. There was so much forest, would they really find anything? He kind of hoped so. He didn’t really enjoy having this ring stuck on his arm. He couldn’t even clearly remember how it got there; though that might’ve been for the better given all that had transpired at the time.

                                                  Lost in his thoughts and shuffling, Faraday wasn’t certain how much time had gone and passed. Sissil however seemed to be paying attention though and his ears twitched as something seemed to have caught his attention.

                                                  "Hm?" Faraday snapped back to attention, pausing in his absent card trick to look at the pokemon in question. Sissil had detached from his shoulder at this point to fly over to some curious dirt mount, hovering over it and staring down with an intense look. He followed and knelt, eyebrow quirking as he looked at the strange object Sissil managed to find.

                                                  "What’s this…?" Another… hoop? It was half way buried in the ground at this point and looked a lot less polished than the one he had. Of course, what could be expected of something stuck in the ground? Curiosity sparked, he dug the ring free from its burial prison and took a moment to inspect it, comparing it to the one at his wrist. Yeah, they were similar, that was for sure. Was the pokemon it belonged too rather common then or something? It probably belonged to a pokemon…

                                                  Faraday mulled over the ring a minute longer with analytical focus as the sounds of night life sprung to life around him. He fazed them out though as he got to his full height, focus still on comparing the rings. Sissil, who was still attached to his shoulder, was alert to their surroundings and Faraday didn’t miss the sudden sharp feeling of claws digging into his shoulder.

                                                  "What’s the matter, Sissil?" He inquired, head tilting so that he had view of the ghost cat. Sissil’s ears were laid back flat, a look of discomfort etched on his face. His cat-like gaze was focused on some invisible presence out in the woods surrounding the lake. MD frowned at the observation of his pokemon’s behavior, directing his gaze out in the same direction.

                                                  It was dark at this point; not so dark that one could get lost, but just enough that nothing but darkness could be seen beyond the second line of trees. He listened for anything out of the ordinary, but the noises just melded together into the standard nightly fanfare. Whatever was bothering the Magikit was doing a good job at staying unidentifiable to him.

                                                  "C’mon Sissil… let’s find the others." MD broke the silence, scratching under the pokemon’s chin in an effort to get him to calm down. Sissil eased only a bit, ears still flat and grip still tight as the pair started to move back towards where they’d first split up. It was time they regrouped anyway and to see if either of the others had found anything of interest.

                                                  It wasn’t long before they returned; Uriah and Dresden were already waiting at the spot and Jubilee and the others were rolling up just as they were. Murphy and Chromie looked tired and disappointed and Jubilee, despite the persistent smile, had the same feelings evident in her eyes.

                                                  "Any luck?" MD inquired, reaching up to remove the shades from his face. At this point and given where they were, it was pointless to keep wearing them. He hooked them onto the collar of his shirt as his green gaze fluctuated between the two groups. Uriah and Dresden had the same brooding attitudes they’d left with, though now with added hints of agitation. He didn’t need words from either of them to tell that was a ‘no’.

                                                  "Sorry boss man… we didn’t find anything," Jubilee gave a sigh of self-defeat as she admitted they’d had no luck either. An appreciative smile crossed MD’s face as he stepped over and gently patted her on the shoulder.

                                                  "Hey it’s alright. I know you tried your best," he assured. And he knew that was a 100% true. Even with the vote of confidence though, he could tell that the livelier group was disappointed at their short comings. Jubilee perked up a bit though to try and keep face glancing from Uriah to MD. "Did you find anything?"

                                                  "Actually, we did," MD remarked and produced the second, grimier hoop ring they’d found. Jubilee’s eyes went wide at the sight, stepping in closer for a better look while Uriah -who’s interest was only slightly peeked- only shifted to give a side glance. "Another hoop?"

                                                  "You bet’cha. Though I don’t know if it has anything to do with my little friend here," MD wiggled his wrist, with the hoop already stuck on it, around, "but they certainly look the same… so maybe it’ll get us on the path we need to go." That was the best he could make of the investigation so far; they could do some more looking but that would have to wait until morning when they had the light on their side. There was also reaching out to Addison for some information on the hoops in hopes of getting a clearer picture of what they were working with.

                                                  There was a mix of responses from the group regarding the discovery and what needed to be done, but that was promptly cut short as Sissil gave a vicious hiss. MD jerked back, wincing as the ghost kitten’s claws once again dug deep into his shoulder.

                                                  "Agh! Hey Sissil, what’s wrong?" MD asked, trying hard not to let the pain slip into his tone. Really, Sissil had some claws and they hurt. He raised a hand and tried to gently pry the pokemon free. Once more, Sissil’s gaze was out beyond the fog of darkness, though this time in the direction of the body of water. The Magikit didn’t respond and continued to hiss and growl in the fashion of a defensive cat.

                                                  MD was bothered. Sissil usually didn’t act like this; and with the way he was hissing, everyone else was becoming alarmed. Uriah tensed up, staring at the Magikit in wonder and Jubilee scooped Murphy and Chromie into her arms out of protective instinct. The air was thick with tension by this point.

                                                  "Well, well, well… one just wasn’t enough for ye, was it?" Everyone stopped as the voice hissed through the air. Uriah and Dresden were immediately on alert, taking defense stances as their eyes narrowed into the darkness. Jubilee held Chromie and Murphy tighter against her body, expression immediately unease as the pair chirped their own concerned protests. Sissil remained firmly attached to Faraday’s shoulder, hissing more intensely.

                                                  The magician was the only one who seemed something other than alarmed; he was surprised. His eyes had finally adjusted to the darkness and located as a form hovered just a few feet from them all, a strange pinkish -or maybe it was purple? Something within that spectrum- illuminating it in the night. Bright golden eyes, narrowed to un-amused slits pierced the dark as well.

                                                  "What." Was MD’s response, which given the tension in the air, seemed hardly fitting. Jubilee shuffled closer, squinting at the strange creature.

                                                  "What’s that… is that a-"

                                                  "You’ve got some balls, coming here to steal the other one. Real guts, robbin’ the dead." The genie-looking creature interrupted, a hand raising and gesturing to the rings in the magician’s possession. MD frowned, confusion still etched in his expression.

                                                  "I do believe you are mistaken my good… pokemon." He commented, eyebrow quirking as he took in the pokemon. Uriah growled and chimed in. "You’ve got some nerve pointing fingers! We didn’t steal squa-"

                                                  "Sure, sure, whatever you have to tell ye’selves to sleep at night," the pokemon cut Uriah off much to the Zorua's chagrin, simply gesturing to MD. "How ‘bout ye hand over those rings, and I don’t crush ye face?"

                                                  "I would love too… but it’s kind of stuck," Faraday rolled up his sleeve, jimmying the hoop that was firmly attached to his forearm. If he was honestly bothered by this, he wasn’t showing it. "It’s kind of not coming off," he remarked, followed by a little shrug. Really though, this was hardly the situation he was expecting. "So uh… yeah? How about-"

                                                  Clearly that wasn’t the right answer. The odd-looking pokemon’s gaze narrowed and soon there was a small vortex of a hole appearing at his side. When had that appeared? Faraday braced himself as the hole rippled and soon an Alakazam appeared. Wait, this thing could summon other pokemon? Though, something about the psychic seemed off from others that he’d encountered in his travels.

                                                  "H-" Faraday began to as but his words were cut out by the sudden yelp he gave. The other hoop he’d found was suddenly ripped from his bag, zooming through the air to hover between the Alakazam and Hoopa. He had to blink a few times to register what happened, though that wasn’t the magician’s primary concern. Immediately he noted the odd bottle he’d found back in the desert also levitating next to the hoop. He’d forgotten he was even in possession of the thing. Why’d it snatch that?

                                                  "Hey give that back!" The Hoopa’s gaze just snapped to Uriah and the pokemon just scoffed. "And what are you going to do about it, heh?" Without hesitation Uriah sprung at the duo. The Alakazam intervened between, attempting to launch an attack, eyes going wide as it seemed to pass right through the Zorua.

                                                  Faraday’s gaze narrowed as the Alakazam dissipated in a cloud of shadow smoke upon its defeat. An illusion? It seemed like it; it hadn’t landed a single hit on Uriah during the whole fight but that wasn’t reliable evidence; dark was completely immune to psychic after all. Uriah was already snatching for the hoop and bottle but the Hoopa, clearly more alert to the situation, quickly flew back and out of his grasp.

                                                  "Yeh best back it up, foxy. Yeh jus’ got lucky," it remarked, attention turning to the bottle. Uriah growled and attempted to jump for it again only to be promptly propelled back as another rift opened, another form beginning to form. Whatever was going on, they were certainly in for a fight.

                                                  Sissil unhinged from his trainer’s shoulder to take on this challenge, a Nidoking composed of similar properties as the last pokemon. It gave a roar as The Magikit flew right for it in challenge…

                                                  And straight into a vicious horn attack. It looked the type of thing that should’ve just gone through the cat, but when it didn’t, Sissil found himself flinching in response. It was only for a second though before he let loose a sweet little melody, lulling the massive armored beast to sleep. A few short manipulative psychic shocks later and it was disappearing too.

                                                  As the Nidoking faded, Faraday’s mood had shifted from surprise to focused. It was evident that this pokemon was expecting a fight (for who knew what reason) and Sissil had taken a bit of a beating with that illusion. Fake or not, they hurt and he couldn’t afford his team being knocked the hell out.

                                                  The pokemon seemed disappointed at the defeat, glaring the Magikit down as he recovered from the blows. Its attention diverted to the man though as he stepped forward.

                                                  "Alright stranger, shows over," Faraday remarked, pointing to the Hoopa. "How about you give me my things back and we talk this out? Man to…. Pokemon…" any potential seriousness pretty much went out the window with that end comment, but no one could say he wasn’t trying in in his attempts to be civil. Sissil and Uriah looked ready to tear the thing a new one.

                                                  The Hoopa didn’t seem to care though. Instead, it stared Faraday down rather hard before shifting its gaze to the bottle. Silence briefly resumed before a vicious grin spread across its face.

                                                  "Sure, sure… or not," suddenly the bottle shot out at them, straight for Jubilee. She squeaked and released Murphy and Chromie in a panic, hands flying up to try and stop the projectile. It seemed to slow and flip just in time, though resulted in a fumbling on her part to try and save it. She did so, though not without the top of the thing snapping off, uncorking it. A strange pink mist rolled out from the opening, lingering in the air just a moment before quickly seeping in the direction of the pokemon. It was so fast the crew had to shut their eyes to avoid going blind as it filtered through the area.

                                                  Faraday was the first to open his eyes once the odd mist had cleared. It was… darker? Which seemed odd; he directed his gaze to where the pokemon had previously been and immediately, his eyes went wide.

                                                  The Hoopa’s unbound form eclipsed the moon, casting the lunar lit forest into further blackness. The grin was now a very wide sneer as it towered at least 20 feet with extra… arms. It was… intimidating. "Oh s**t…," Faraday murmured as he stared at the silhouette. Well, at least he knew what that bottle was for; damn shame he couldn’t have found that out under better circumstances.

                                                  The Hoopa finished looking over its new form, a studious expression overtaking it’s features before a sly toothy grin appeared. "So you’re a fan of magic, huh?" Faraday’s expression went from shock to confused. What? That was certainly the odd change in conversation. The Hoopa didn’t acknowledge it as he summoned another one of those portals.

                                                  ”You like legendary magic, hm?” The voice boomed and the crew focused as another pokemon materialized, eyes going wide again as a ghostly presence appeared. A Darkrai? Oh s**t…

                                                  If there had been time to make a sigh of relief, Faraday would’ve done so. But there wasn’t and so he didn’t; instead he was checking on Dresden, the Buneary was still coming around after that sleep spell the Darkrai had sent him into. Luckily, the rabbit was a strong one and wasn’t dazed for long.

                                                  The Hoopa didn’t seem impressed. But that was fine because neither was Faraday.

                                                  "Alright we’re done here- " he started to say, starting to reach back for a pokeball while pointing Sissil in the direction of the giant pokemon. It was hardly a fair fight… like… not fair at all, but Faraday was done messing with this thing. If this was what Addison had sent them to find, then the best course of action was to capture it.

                                                  Assuming … it allowed that. It seemed to be on the same wavelength of thought with Faraday, which would’ve been suspicious enough if it wasn’t reacting quicker that he could think.

                                                  "Not so fast, lil’man. " Faraday yelped as he was snatched up mid-reach by one of the Hoopa’s hands and a moment later he was staring eye to eye with the over-sized brute, a series of cries and yells from below alerting him to the fact that his pokemon were equally shocked by the act. The magician grunted in pain, trying to wiggle himself free a bit receiving a squeeze in response.

                                                  "You ain’ catchin’ nothin’, lil’man. " Faraday, squinting against the breath that hit is face. Well someone was rather rude. ”You’ve got some lousy manners, just saying. " The man remarked, looking unimpressed. The Hoopa just sneered and gave a squeeze again, earning an annoyed cringe grunt from the man. As much as Faraday was trying to maintain a tough front, the pokemon wasn’t buying it.

                                                  His pokemon though, weren’t worried about putting on fronts, immediately jumping into action to attempt to get their trainer back. That didn’t go unnoticed and the Hoopa turned his attention away from the man in his grip, another hand raising and opening another portal.

                                                  "Get lost yeh pests, " he said, voice booming as another legendary was dropped from the portal and Faraday’s eyes went wide. Why the legends? What?

                                                  While his crew dealt with the Regigigas that had been dropped on them, Faraday found himself once more facing off with the towering pokemon who’s grip had not loosened in the least bit. The man had to admit, it was kind of getting difficult to breath.

                                                  "Listen… I don’t know what your deal is… but I think we could talk this out… " He spoke, doing his best to keep his tone even and given the air being squeezed from his lungs at the same time as he spoke, that was a challenge. ”…preferably without … breaking my ribs? " The Hoopa let out a bolstering laugh, Faraday wincing as it resulted in another tight squeeze. This was … really unenjoyable.

                                                  "Oh yeh? I don’ want to talk this out, lil’man. " The pokemon leered, tussling the man a bit and only diverting his gaze to observe the battle raging below. Faraday followed and stared in horror at the sight; Dresden had been hit with an effect again and left in a block of ice and Jubilee, bless her heart jumped in to try and keep the rabbit from going down completely. But… she wasn’t a fighter and that was made evidently clear as after two solid punches, the Zorua’s illusion snapped and her little self was just lying there. Uriah was on it in a flash of hate rushing for Jubilee with a flash of hate in his eyes. The titan didn’t seem phased and went for the blow, only to be caught off guard as Sissil intervened. The crushing blow of the legendary’s attack phasing through the ghost cat was just enough to let him deliver a finishing blow.

                                                  The Regigigas faded from existence as it was felled and without hesitation, flicked a wrist to summon forth another shadowed legend; a Rayquaza this time. Faraday couldn’t help the state of shock as the large serpent descended from the portal giving a vicious roar before striking for his team; they were just barely hanging on after that.

                                                  "Now then…, "The pokemon was right back in his face and Faraday wasn’t amused. ”Only thing I wan’ is that ring on your arm. So you should jus’ give it-"

                                                  "Once again, I told you… it’s stuck, " Faraday interrupted, still writhing to get free. ”If I could take it off… I would, trust me. I can’t so… you know…"
                                                  The Hoopa’s gaze narrowed and he gave the magician a quick whip around, chucking him up a bit in the air before viciously snapping his grasp around him again. Faraday gasped, his arms free now and trying to use them as leverage to free himself. He was roughly beginning to believe this thing was... malevolent? Malicious? Not caring what he had to say? Like, it seemed to be actively ignoring him.

                                                  "Well… if you can’ take it off. I’ll take it off for yeh," the Hoopa said. Swiftly a free hand from one of its five other available arms reached up and clasped the arm that the offending hoop was attached to between an index and thumb finger. Faraday winced at the pressure, abandoning his attempts at freeing his lower half in favor of preventing his arm from danger.

                                                  "Whoawhoawhoawhoawhoa whoa… whoa… let go!" He immediately spat, wiggling and trying to pry his arm free. He could already tell where this was going and he wasn’t liking it at all. ”I need both sleeves for trick hiding, you know! It doesn’t work with one arm!" He gave a yelp as the pressure intensified; oh s**t. This thing… was going to rip his arm off at this rate. This… this was bad.

                                                  -

                                                  Faraday’s tribulations weren’t going unnoticed; as his team struggled to take down the challenges flung their ways, they understood their trainer was facing a losing battle of his own. Sissil himself was keeping track of the events, trying to weave his way up to help but pushed back by the attacks of the new strange legends sent at them.

                                                  The Regigigas had knocked out Jubilee who was being covered by Uriah. The other Zorua was distraught and enraged over it and if the other hadn’t needed guarding, would’ve been muzzle punching the Rayquaza without a second thought to the danger it’d put him in. Murphy and Chromie had made their way over to their respective team mates; Murphy to Uriah and Jubilee to check their situation and Chromie to Dresden in a poor attempt to help the pokemon unfreeze via the use of her tail flame. Sissil was, really, the only one focused on the fight.

                                                  He could only do so much on his own. A cry caught his ears and immediately he looked up to see what was going on; right at the Hoopa and his attempt to snap his trainer’s arm off.

                                                  "Magi!" Sissil shouted, springing forth again only to be blocked by the Rayquaza. The thing was the biggest blocker in this situation. He needed… they needed back up. But where…?

                                                  His ears twitched and some quick smooth maneuvers later, Sissil had retrieved Shellder’s pokeball from Faraday’s things. He unleashed the shell pokemon, being greeted by a friendly raspberry to the face before promptly hauling it up and pointing it at the oncoming serpent of the ozone. The pokemon simply gave another raspberry at the oncoming legendary before Sissil all but yelled at it to do something. Without hesitation, he chucked the shell at the serpent, watching it get chomped (this was not good team work right here) and for a moment Sissil was certain he’d made a mistake, before the legendary gave a horrible cry of pain.

                                                  A barrage of ice shards exploded from its mouth and was apparently enough to down the beast. It was… a spectacular sight, if not horrifying as the creature roared in pain before slamming to the ground and dissipating as the others had. Sissil quickly flew over, searching, and locating the Shellder among the ‘debris’ the pokemon giving another raspberry noise. Well… at least it was still in good spirits.

                                                  Faraday was granted a moment of relief from the pain of his arm being pretty much twisted in the wrong direction; the tears in his eyes though made it almost impossible to tell though what had happened. Though judging by the semi-shocked and disgruntled look on the massive giant’s face, something had happened that he didn’t like.

                                                  Another portal, another pokemon; this time something that Faraday wasn’t familiar with but wouldn’t have been surprised if it was a legendary. It was slender and regal, like something from a whimsical forest, but with the same shadowy level of malice it’s summoner. The figure delayed only a moment to look at the Hoopa before striking forth at the duo before it.

                                                  "Leave them alone ya ********’ brute!" Faraday hissed, once again trying to free himself. At about this point, his patience was gone. The pokemon just gave a low rumbling chuckle before resuming its grip on his arm. ********. "Well fine I’ll make it quick…,"

                                                  Sissil didn’t hesitate. He took the brunt of the first attack before lulling the Virizion into blissful sleep. With a quick few instructions, he’d left Shellder to finish the job; the shell pokemon didn’t seem bothered at all, at least this time he wasn’t being thrown at the thing.

                                                  Which left the Magikit free to do what needed to be done. With no further threats, he could swiftly fly his way up to where Faraday and the Hoopa were, giving a loud screech at the pokemon. The Hoopa scowled and with one of his arms attempted to swat the cat away. "Get los’ pest!" Once again, relief. Sissil continued to distract, weaving in and out from the Hoopa’s grasp. This was just enough time… for Faraday to weasel himself a trick.

                                                  "SCAT CAT." The Hoopa roared and managed to connect a palm with Sissil, sending the poor creature flying into the ground. "SISSIL!" he shouted, gritting his teeth as the creature simply smirked. The genie looked back to the man with that sinister sneer, though it dropped a moment after as he realized the man was up to something.

                                                  Faraday was sitting there with a deck of cards in his hands, fingers placed on top as though intending to deal them out as though he were on the blackjack table. The genie just stared, only briefly amused. "What-"

                                                  "Pick a card, hot shot," The magician remarked before promptly firing a card off in the creature’s face. The Hoopa didn’t even wince as it came flying at him, though that grin of his quickly faded as he shouted in pain, the card exploding in a flurry of bright lights right in his eyes.

                                                  Faraday wiggled as the giant’s grip loosened and in a moment, he was falling and slamming straight into the lake. It hadn’t even occurred to him that at some point, they’d moved over it; lucky really, as anywhere else would’ve resulted in broken legs. He surfaced, gasping for air (his lungs would hate him later, he knew that) and Sissil was immediately there. The Magikit looked a mix of concerned and relieved when it was apparent his trainer was, at minimum, not dead.

                                                  "YEH GONNA PAY FOR THAT!" The roar sounded and Faraday flinched. Right there was no time for reunions at this moment. He looked to Sissil, both staring for the briefest of moments in communication. The Magikit’s eyes went wide before his head nodded in confirmation and he zipped off in the direction of Faraday’s things. By now, the Hoopa had recovered and moved over the body of water to hover above the man.

                                                  "Yeh messed up lil’man."

                                                  "Eeehhhh," Faraday responded. He stared as the Hoopa grunted, one of those hands immediately reaching to snatch him up again. "URIAH. THE BOTTLE. NOW." He shouted before diving under the water and out of sight, catching the pokemon off guard. The Hoopa turned his attention to the shore, spotting Uriah just as he pointed the odd bottle from earlier in his direction, eyes wide in shock. When and how…?

                                                  Really, it didn’t take much as the mists swiveled away from the pokemon and returned towards the container. By the time Faraday resurfaced (he needed to work out a little more) the Hoopa had returned to its smaller size, frantic horror on its face.

                                                  "Yeh… yeh think you so smart! You ain’ won nothin’! NOTHIN’." Faraday watched a moment, a narrowed death gaze on the creature. "…I think it’s time for a disappearing trick…," Faraday stated flatly. The Hoopa looked surprised.

                                                  "Wha-" Thunk. The thing didn’t have a chance to respond beyond that as a pokeball smashed it in the back of the head, curtesy of Sissil. The Magikit didn’t hesitate either, holding the pokeball in place until the confirmation ding sounded. Faraday… let out a sigh of relief (and nearly dunked back under the water because of it). And that… was that.

                                                  Begrudgingly, Faraday swam his way back to the shore of the lake. He pulled himself from the waters, chills already begin to set on him with the drenched status of his attired. Awesome, great. That was exactly the kind of thing he was looking for. Sissil flew up next to him, concern etched on the kitten’s face as he checked in on his trainer, the pokeball still clutched tightly between his paws. The magician forced a smile, reaching up and gently rubbing the creature between the ears.

                                                  "You did good, Sissy… you did good," he said. Sissil mewled, a mix of relief and concern mixed in his tone; Faraday simply kept the smile a moment, taking the pokeball and eyeing it with annoyance. This was something… he’d need to deal with. But later. He tucked it away into his pocket and immediately sprinted over to where the rest of his crew was.

                                                  Jubilee, thankfully, was coming around though the magician couldn’t help but wince at the soft groans she was giving off; she was in her Zorua form, shivering from the spurts of pain. Uriah was coddling her protectively, only looking away to Faraday as the man dropped down next to them.

                                                  "Hey… she okay?" Uriah grimaced, looking about ready to spit venom. "I’m… I’m fine boss." Jubilee interrupted before the other could do such and it was rather painful to here. He could tell she was trying to be chipper about it but she just sounded… tired. "Take it easy Jubes, we’ll get you to the center here okay? You did good… all of you did good." Murphy gave a sad little chirp, still looking concerned for Jubilee. Uriah though, just remained silent, getting up to his feet with her still in his arms.

                                                  "Then let’s get going." Faraday swiped wet hair out of his face as he nodded, getting to his feet. Right… that was the next course of action. But where was Dresden? He turned and spotted Chromie still desperately attempting to thaw the rabbit and he winced at the frozen form. "Ah s**t, Dresden!" Faraday trotted over, observing the situation briefly before grabbing for his things to try and find something to solve the situation. The Buneary was frozen solid and unresponsive; Arceus was this a mess. This was not at all what he’d expected.

                                                  And yet, it’s what he got.

                                                  While he tried to find a quick fix to his pokemon’s problem, Sissil flew over to see if there was anything he himself could do. It was… unnerving to see the Buneary just… frozen in place. Was he even blinking in that ice prison he was in? There had to be something he could do. Maybe he just needed a little more energy to bust through? Something? He had a little bit… maybe that’d be enough?

                                                  Faraday’s attention snapped away from his searching and back to his pokemon as a bright light appeared. What was going on?! He squinted and for the briefest of moments, panicked. However, that subsided into shock when he realized what had occurred. Dresden was unfrozen now though… no longer the Buneary he was familiar with. No there was something… similarly colored standing there and looking in a daze as another pokemon faced off with them too. Was that… Sissil? It looked like him but… bigger and… more witchy like. Definitely not the tiny ghost kitten he’d been before.

                                                  "What in the…," he mumbled, getting to his feet and strolling over to the two. He knelt next to Dresden, checking the rabbit (now a Lopunny it appeared) to make sure he was alright. "You alright buddy?" He inquired as he reached a hand out to gently pat the rabbit, looking him over. Dresden slowly regained his senses, seeming to catch that something was different. He looked down at his form and made an obviously uncertain face; what? He looked up at Sissil, looking even more confused. The Grimarcane shared the same look of confusion, though seemed more impressed with his new form.

                                                  "Heh… just a mass evolution party, huh?" Faraday shook his head, getting to his feet. He was freezing at this point; the sooner they got moving, the better.
                                                  "You guys take a rest okay? We’ll get to the center and get everyone taken care of," he commented. Dresden grumbled and gave an uneasy nod, Dresden looking a little disappointed. They agreed though and Faraday returned everyone for the time being. He turned to Uriah, frowning.

                                                  "You… want to go?" Uriah just continued looking annoyed and there was an awkward minute of silence. "Yeah," Faraday nodded, and returned Jubilee before doing the same with Uriah. It was probably for the best; less bodies meant quicker travel. With his things collected he pulled out the pager and tried to make a call for a flier.

                                                  "… Damnit…" Faraday rolled his eyes in exasperation. The water had gone ahead and killed the thing… awesome! Which meant, he was walking. Through the night… to the nearest city. Awesome, amazing. Great.

                                                  Well, nothing was going to change with him just standing around and with a sigh and still soaking wet, he started to make his way for the nearest city. The sooner the better.

✧✧【 Keeping her phone on hand in case Zane might message her back, Eveline turned to climb onto Jaffa so they could head for Pastoria from there. Maybe after they got to Hoenn, they could spend the night in a Pokemon Center somewhere and pick up on the search the next day. All of this flying and walking around was getting tiring, and the sun was already starting to dip down a bit lower into the skies. It was probably about… maybe 6 or 7 o’clock right now, about time that most people would already be hunkering down at home to eat dinner and unwind from a busy day. However, she noticed a bit of an odd sight as she mounted the Altaria from her higher elevation.
