Dusknoir had gotten over being unhappy when battling Duskull's evolution at least when it came to trainers because for the most part they were happy. Stepping back the hexed woman returned her fainted Pokemon and sent out, "Spiritomb the forbidden Pokemon. A Pokemon that was formed by 108 spirits. It is bound to a fissure in an odd keystone." Dusknoir got ready to battle and rushed in while Simon's Pokenav beeped, there was someone who wanted his Sandshrew for his requested Pokemon. Smiling Simon accepted the trade as Sandshrew went off for Relicanth. Before he could study it more Dusknoir threw a Shadow Punch knocking the Spiritomb out.

The final Pokemon that the woman sent out was, "Gourgeist the pumpkin Pokemon. It enwraps its prey in its hairlike arms. It sings joyfully as it observes the suffering of its prey." Of course Dusknoir was too strong for it knocking it out in one punch. Once Gourgeist was defeated and returned the Hexed woman blinked a few times. "Sorry. I. Sorry." the woman muttered before wandering off. Simon watched her go wondering what was going to happen to her. Dusknoir told him that he read the thoughts of Gourgeist who told him that she was really into her act but away from people she really was a good trainer. Taking his word for it Simon continued to search for any more black flutes.

The next Pokemon trainer that Simon and Slowpoke came across was a ground type trainer or at least his first Pokemon was as they saw him with his Sandslash. "Okay you are going to try to defeat a team on your own okay?""Po, po," Slowpoke said actually looking like he was in the moment instead of being slow paced like always. Smiling and nodding they approached and of course the trainer 'forced' them to battle. Slowpoke walked, slow but steady into the field and readied himself.

The kid, who introduced himself as Larry, returned his fainted Pokemon not liking the looks of the attentive Slowpoke. The next Pokemon he sent out was, "Gligar the flyscorpion Pokemon. It usually clings to cliffs. When it spots its prey, it spreads its wings and glides down to attack." As it came out and flew down snapping his claws. Slowpoke smashed the water attack into it but it survived and snapped its pinchers at the water Pokemon. It wasn't enough as another surf attack took it out.

Larry returned his Pokemon wishing that he had a more diverse team of Pokemon on hand. His next Pokemon was "Nincada the trainee Pokemon. It can sometimes live underground for more than ten years. it absorbs nutrients from the roots of trees." Even though it was part bug the ground typing meant the water move Slowpoke knew might still be super effective. Regardless he had his bug Pokemon dart in and use leech life, doing a bit of damage but not enough as surf once again knocked it out.

Attacking Mamoswine braced against the surf and stomped using the water mixed with the dirt to throw a mud bomb at Slowpoke. Swiping it out Slowpoke fired off another surf, defeating Larry's last Pokemon.

Once the battle was won and both trainers walked away Simon looked down at Slowpoke and checked the Pokenav. The battle was great for him as he leveled up almost to the stage where he would evolve. Right now he was four levels away from evolving and although Simon liked it here close to where Giratina had once appeared he was getting a bit tired of the whole cave system. One more battle then depending on what level Slowpoke was he might treat the water Pokemon to a rare candy or two. Picking up and carrying Slowpoke they looked for the next trainer challenge. There was a kid sitting with a laptop typing away who looked up at Simon at wondered if he wanted to battle. When Simon nodded the kid got up and tapped on his computer holding it out which shot out a red beam revealing, "Porygon the virtual Pokemon. A manmade Pokemon that came about as a result of research. It is programmed with only basic motions."

Looking up the kid appeared annoyed at his second Porygon fainting just as his first one had. Typing a few buttons there was another flash and Porygon was replaced with, "Porygon2 the virtual Pokemon. Porygon2 was created by humans using the power of science. The man-made Pokemon has been endowed with artificial intelligence that enables it to learn new gestures and emotions on its own." With new smoother lines this Pokemon seemed happy to be out. With that Simon figured out that it was an evolution not the same Pokemon as before. Nodding at Greninja the Pokemon attacked.

Spraying Greninja with a potion Simon returned Greninja and sent out Slowpoke again. "You need to treat your Pokemon better," Simon said as the kid returned his Pokemon. Standing up he tucked his laptop away and went pass Simon without a word but Simon could tell he was upset. Looking at Slowpoke Simon reached into his pack and took out two Rare Candies. "Here,"Simon said holding it out to his friend. Slowpoke took them, "Po, poke," he said chomping on them. This was enough to bring him to the level to evolve and with that he started to glow white until he evolved into, "Slowbro the hermit crab Pokemon. An attached Shellder won't let go because of the tasty flavor that oozes out of its tail.""Great job Slowbro," Simon said with a smile. "Bro, low." With that Simon returned him and started to leave.

Outside of the cave a trainer attempted to battle Simon but he waved him off, explaining that he just lost and needed to use his last Pokemon to get to a Pokecenter. It was a lie but it seemed to work so he sent out Noivern. Climbing on they went into the sky just over the cave so Noivern could still hear Simon as he requested to be taken back to Hearthome City so he can switch around his team again. With a nod Noivern took off.
