Once her decision was made, Eudora returned to looking at the lake and not just the island this time. The rippling water reflected the sun's rays and was clear enough to see the bottom of. It was pretty, gorgeous really, and had enough simple movements to keep her entertained. She brushed her hand against the grass, felt it tickle her palms, and then, thoughtlessly, she broke one of the blades off at the top and pulled it away to stare at it. Eudora twirled the grass piece in between her thumb and forefinger and let it twist right to left before she switched directions and turned it left to right. She puffed out her cheeks and then blew loudly, "pffehh!" Her gust of breath carried it out of her hand and into the air, where it glided from the short distance of the earth to land calmly on the water's surface. Miniscule ripples danced away from it while the blade of the grass itself spun 180° before it stilled.

She watched, transfixed, as the broken grass moved across the water with the help of the wind or a gentle nudge from her finger. But, Eudora quickly lost her taste in it and eventually slipped her gaze from it entirely. She sighed and blew a raspberry, fiddled with her necklace, and then– "Oh yeah!" Eudora's eyes brightened with remembrance as her hands flew down to wrestle with her shoes. First shoes and socks then rolling up her pants legs, the young woman wiggled her toes out in the open air, and pointedly ignored the chipped orange nail polish still clinging to her left pinky toe and her right middle toe. She tested the water with her big toe, then pushed through the initial shiver-and-jump as she dunked her feet into the water. It was cold, soothing for someone who couldn't handle higher temperatures, and with Henry swimming somewhere nearby, it was too hectic for any aquatic creature looking to nibble on human flesh.

Eudora started off by splashing her feet, up and down to send water droplets scattering everywhere. Fat drops hit her thighs, stomach, arms, chest, and even her cheeks and glasses, the ones that touched her clothes seeped into the material and left behind dark circles. She stopped before she could soak herself, but not before her thighs had started to grow sore and her legs ached from the extended exertion. "🎵Born to rise, while legends fall🎵" Eudora sang, the only lyrics she actually knew, while she used her rest time to clean her glasses with the cloth she always kept on hand, for occasions like this and the other 999. Once her glasses were back on, she picked her waterobics back up, swishing her feet and rolling her ankle an almost perfect 360°.

Two minutes after she'd switched tactics, the wind shifted, and a steady breeze pushed at her back. A minute after that and Eudora's feet gradually slowed until they had stopped entirely, and 30 seconds after that she was nodding off. A minute later and she had fallen asleep: her glasses slid down to hang a quarter-inch off her nose as her head bobbed gently. From nearby, Henry watched her as he floated on his back. He was done exploring the lake's depths, and after a great adventure like this, an Emporer-to-be deserved to rest and watch the clouds go by. So, that was exactly what Henry was doing: on his back, he let the water guide him and watched the sky intently as white, fluffy clouds began shifting into shapes. He only took breaks to check in on Eudora, he was sure she was the type that needed more supervision, not less.

There was movement on the bank, and instinctively Piplup craned his beak back and shot a glob of water at the pokemon-esque shape. The clumsy fall that followed let him know that he'd hit his target. He was getting good at this! Which was to be expected from someone of his caliber and lineage, he'd been named 'Henry' for a reason, after all. A flash of bright color caught the chick's attention and off went another Water Gun, and he paddled his feet gleefully when his enemy cried out in shock. "I'm not just good, I'm great," he thought proudly, and that was his last thought before a strong gust of wind slapped him in the face.

"Pi-PI-PI!"

Eudora's head sank down then jerked up before her eyes snapped open and she twisted about. "What?!" She used unsteady hands to push her glasses back up her nose before she smoothed them down her cheek, then her side. "Henry?" Eudora looked to the water, where she'd seen him last, and panicked when she didn't find him there. The young woman was halfway to her feet when an indignant war cry broke through her headphones and she turned. There was Henry: flipper raised like a weapon, a weapon he brought down, hard, onto the perplexed face of a pokemon Eudora did not recognize.

The pokemon stumbled back, blinking hard, and turned to run away but, for once, Eudora was quicker. Already running, she reached into her open bag to pull out a shrunken pokeball, and, by some miracle, remembered to enlarge it before she tossed it. It whistled through the air—this was one of her top 5 best throws, no contest—and bounced off the pokemon's back leg with an explosion of red light before it hit the ground. It heaved just once before the capsule slumped forward and grew still.

Just slightly out of breath, Eudora sucked in one last, good breath before she bent down to grab her pokeball. She stared down at it, brushed away the grass stain and debris that clung to it, then without prompting pumped her arms into the air. "I CAUGHT MY FIRST POKEMON!" She announced to the world, to her audience of 1. And even that 1 almost immediately dwindled into one as Henry turned away from the sight with a disgusted huff and an eye roll. Why even bother catching something so... so... rude as to hit him back! His face still hurt. He carried his wounded pride away from Eudora and her cheering and nursed it by taking out the first pokemon he came across. It went down immediately.

That was what was supposed to have happened with the last pokemon.

"HENRY!"

Startled, he turned to her with a bewildered look. If Eudora noticed, she didn't comment. "Let's get going!" She was already running for the exit, with a quick detour to snag her socks and shoes. Henry, still upset and now confused, followed after her when he realized she wasn't stopping.
