The professor, upon hearing that some new trainers had entered the lab, inquiring about getting a starter pokemon, left his office to go greet the newcomers. There were four youths there. If it wasn't for the fact that two girls seemed to be twins, and the other two looked like siblings, he'd think it was quite a crowd to come in at once. The twin girls were the first to approach him, so he'd deal with them first.
"Beinvenue, mes chéris~ Do you happen to know which starter you might like?" he asked the young twins with a welcoming smile. He gestured to them to follow him towards the back of the lab so that he could get them set up for their journey. "Suivez-moi, s'il vous plaît." he told them, leading the way. Once they reached the back of the lab, they would find themselves face to face with one of each of the kalos starters - a Fennekin, a Chespin and a Froakie. "Here we are~" he smiled, waving a gentle hand towards the starters for the twins to make their choice.

Right after their official entrance to Professor Sycamore's lab, another pair of trainers seemed to have found their way into the man's building. The two sisters turned around to be faced with quite the sight before them. The tallest figure in the group, a crimson haired male youth who looked no older than a young adult, wore an annoyed expression in the girls' direction. He wore a sort of tracksuit, something akin to what an athletic person would wear in their off time. Of course, these were just the girl's general thoughts towards him, assuming the male was some runner or something. Zomebody obviously iz not having a good day. Genevieve thought to herself while her eyes moved towards the next object of interest in the room. His companion or sibling, on the other hand, looked to be the exact polar opposite of his expression and stature. She wore an elated smile and seemed quite content messing around with her pokemon, though Giselle and Genevieve had little clue as to what exact pokemon she had. The professor approached the two younger girls first, Genevieve twirling around on her right foot to face the professor and speak.
"Excuse me." Giselle said, moving over towards the red haired woman and kneeling down with her to get a better view of the bear-like pokemon she had in her hands. The two, even with their limited knowledge of pokemon thus far, knew enough to know such a type was not originally from the Kalos region. These two must have come from another one of the many regions...or perhaps her mind was just failing her and it was native here."I haven't ever zeen a pokemon like zis before. It looks quite adorable, madame. What iz it's name?" The young trainer said before noticing that Sycamore and her sister had disappeared. She flailed and sprinted to catch up with them, calling out to the woman, "So zorry, madame! I'll zee you later!" before hurrying towards the back of the lab.
In the meantime, Genevieve would begin speaking to the professor right before her sister left her side, Giselle's usual location unless something caught that keen eye of hers. "Bonjour, Professor! My zister and I-" She began, finally noticing her sister's absence as she craned her neck around to catch the sight before her. Giselle seemed to be caught up in the older female playing with her pokemon while the boy, her brother she guessed, was much too busy playing music to pay any care to the two. She turned back to Sycamore and rubbed the back of her neck, embarrassed at her sister's rude gesture towards the professor. She was such a handful at times. "Errrr...Apologies, professor. Gizelle tends to become preoccupied at times." The girl said before taking a look at the three starting pokemon that lied before her, with each one being cuter than the next. Giselle caught up and took her place by her sister's side, almost as if nothing had happened. After a few minutes or so, the two came to an agreement on which one they would choose. "Professor, we've decided to pick Froakie as our first pokemon." Giselle giving a rather confident nod of her head while petting the frog pokemon.
Sycamore's smile only brightened as he heard the French accent coming from one of the twins - the other had gotten distracted by a pokemon with the other pair of trainers in the lab. "Ah, It's quite alright, ma cherie~" he assured her before leading her towards the back of the lab to pick a starter. It wasn't too long before Giselle rejoined her sister, ready for the picking of the starter. While they talked amongst themselves for their decision, Sycamore got together a little care package for them. The usual, pokedex, pokeballs and potions that he gave out to all new trainers. He turned towards them, holding the bundle as the decision was made. "Magnefique~ A truly splendid choice~" he beamed, getting the froakie's pokeball before holding it out towards the twins, allowing them to decide who was going to hold on to the ball. He also handed them the pokedex and pokeballs, as well as some potions. "I trust that you will have many beautiful adventures together with your froakie." he told the girls while walking them back to the front. He'd have to take care of the other trainers waiting.

"We'll take good care of 'im, Profezor." Giselle said as she accepted the pokeball from the lavender haired professor, her gazed being directed towards the pokeball that rested firmly inside of her palm. Genevieve picked up the majority of the other accessories that the man had brought them during the time that the two had spent discussing which pokemon they should have picked. She filled her arms with a pokedex, pokeballs and potions as Sycamore dumped them into her arms. She huffed to herself, doing her best to not drop everything on the floor while she booted the pokedex up and handed it to her sister using her middle and index fingers on her right hand. While the two were on their way back towards the front of the lab, Giselle took the chance to call out the Froakie recently given to them and scan it with the pokedex as it hopped alongside them. After several seconds of jumbled scanning, a robotic voice came from the speakers of the pokedex. "Froakie, The Bubble Frog Pokémon. From its chest and back, Froakie creates bubbles called Frubbles, which act as a cushion and soften the blow of an opponent's attack." When they arrived at the entrance again, Genevieve hurried outside, calling back to the professor and waving with one hand on the mountain of supplies. "Merci, profezor! We'll make sure zat we'll zave you chocolate next time!~" Giselle fell back, holding the pokedex up to the Spinda for a moment until the scan completed, then followed her sister outside as the voice returned. "Spinda, the Spot Panda Pokémon. Spinda uses its seemingly clumsy movements to confuse its opponents. It is said that no two Spinda have the same pattern of spots."

"Hm?" Heather looked up when she approached, one hand holding onto Cadenza's paw to help him twirl gently. She flashed a smile when questioned about her musical Spinda and, after stilling her pokemon, she straightened up. "You've got a good eye for pokemon!" she mused, more than pleased that the young girl found her pokemon adorable. "This is Cadenza, my Spinda," she introduced and then dropped down to give him a squeeze. "Say hi, Cadenza~" The Spinda gave a wide wave, though faltered when Giselle ran off. Heather simply laughed, immediately regaining her pokemon's attention by poking his stomach, it was nice to see someone excited to receive their starter.
Lysander, who had kept an eye on his sister throughout her brief interaction with the little girl, turned away when she gave him a pointed look. He rocked back on his heels, allowing the music from his headphones wash over him. The redhead was aware of his sister's disapproval of his attitude, but.. this entire journey thing was her idea, he was just tagging along; that being said he'd do his very best to care for the pokemon that came into his care. He wasn't much of a pokemon trainer, but... eh that could change. Turning away from his thoughts he looked up when he heard a, rather loud, clearing of the throat and noticed Professor Sycamore walking out from the back and towards him; that was his cue. Lysander gave a sigh before slipping his headphones out once more, gave his clothes a pat, and approached the man. "Hey there, professor," he greeted neutrally. He rolled his shoulders back, "not gonna waste your time. I just need a Froakie." Quick and to the point, he knew Heather wanted to get on the road.

Professor Sycamore
Sycamore was pleasantly surprised when the red haired male took initiative, already telling him what he wanted. It wasn't that it would be a waste of time at all, but it was always a bit nice when things could go this smoothly. "Merveileux~ I'll be right back with a froakie, then." Sycamore smiled, then turned and walked back to the back of the lab to retrieve the starter and supplies. It didn't take long at all, and the professor soon returned to Lysander to hand over the starter, a pokedex, some potions and pokeballs. "Here you are~" he announced to him before handing over the goods.

Lysander looked from the pokedex to the pokeball, examining both for a small period of time, before he clipped the latter to his belt before he extended his hand out with the pokedex for Heather to take. Once his hands were freed he took the other two items, pleasantly surprised that the professor would bother to give out potions and pokeballs, and turned on his heel with a nod. "You ready to head out?" he addressed his sister, who was busy trying to figure out how to work out the pokedex. She smiled when she managed to turn it on then swiveled it around to peer at Cadenza, who gave a fierce wave as if his picture was being taken. Heather giggled, eyes scanning over the entry that popped up on the Spinda species, but then straightened up and handed Lysander the device, taking Cadenza up in her arms afterwards. "Yup! We can meet your new partner once we're outside, and start on a plan!" she suggested, propping her partner up in her arms before she began to lead the way out, humming a soft tune as she went. Lysander gave a stretch and a nod, arms extending out by his side, before he followed after Heather. They were really doing this, huh?

Fumi observed the view in front of the Professor Sycamore's lab for a good few minutes before turning to knock on the door. Thinking back, she'd remember walking home from school, seeing that very scenery behind her. It was an interesting thought that she wouldn't be seeing it for a while, but now was not the time to reminisce. She had to get a few things in order first. "Um... Excuse me... Is Professor Sycamore in? I would like to get my starter Pokemon." The girl spoke with a tint of nervousness, yet was loud enough to be heard even from a distance as she entered the laboratory. It was a first time in a while since she'd address someone outside of her family. As nervous as she was internally, one would only be able to see a bored look on her features. That was unless you knew her well enough to know better.

Reading over a report one of his aides had handed over, Professor Sycamore still managed to look up when his name was called, the voice soft and feminine. A soft smile crossed his face when he heard mention of a starter -- starting new trainers on their journeys was one of the more exciting perks of his job -- and eagerly moved to greet the young girl. "Oui! I am!" he called out, his stride calm and even as he tried to maintain an air of professionalism. "Bonjour, madam! What kind of starter were you looking for?"
Fumi straightened her posture some as the professor made his presence known and straightened even more so when approached her. Her eyes gazed straight in his eyes at the mention of which starter she wanted. Given their height difference, looking at him from below was a little straining on her neck, but she would not falter. The girl had done some research as to which starters were available in this laboratory and while she did see the advantages in choosing the cool-looking yet bubbly Froakie and the fluffy fox that was Fennekin, she wanted to follow in her brother's footsteps and get a Chespin. His was just too cute whenever she played with the grass type that she wanted one of her own. "Hello professor. I would like to have a Chespin if you have any available... Please." She responded calmly, still keeping her non-wavering gaze to meet his and tagging in a plea at the end so as not to sound too demanding. He was taking the time out of his schedule to help her start her journey after all.

Sycamore gave a soft nod, keeping his smile, "Chespin? An excellent choice. One moment please." Briefly dismissing himself, the professor left to gather the young girl's items, all the while marveling at how polite the trainer to be was. It wasn't long before the man had returned, pokeball in one hand and a small parcel in the other. "Here you are, mon amie, a Chespin for yourself and a few items to start you on your journey. Pokeballs, potions, and of course your very own pokedex. No trainer is complete without one," he explained as he handed the items over. "Did you need anything else? If not, I wish you the best of luck on your journey."

Fumi fidgeted with her hat when the professor had left taking note of the Pokemon she wanted. Looking around the lab, she saw a plethora of gadgets that a fledgling trainer like herself would only imagine to understand. It did peak her interest though. Upon hearing footsteps growing closer, she immediately straightened up once again. The girl was happily surprised to receive more than just her starter, though her features didn't show it. "No it's alright, you've helped plenty. Thank you very much for all of this." The girl said coolly as she motioned towards the items she was just given before putting said items in her bag while carefully placing the Pokeball housing her new partner on her belt. She didn't want to keep him from going about his business any longer, though she wasn't too sure what being a professor entailed. Besides, she got what she had came for and she still had to head back home before she started her adventure, so she promptly bowed before leaving the premises.

Du looked up at the imposing building that she had been dropped off at, she really wished that Miss Valerie didn’t have to run a gym at the moment and dearly wished that her idol stuck around for just a few more minutes. Du swallowed the huge lump in her throat and looked down at the blue Sylveon that Valerie gave her. Even though she had a belt full of pokemon already and a few in her backpack the newest addition to her posse had become very precious to her. The Fairy gym leader had seemed to have taken some degree of pity on the little transgendered child that was on their hands and knees and begging for the gym leader to take her under her wing. Valerie had told her that she could indeed teach her everything that she knew but she thought that there was more to this genderly confused young boy than what he was giving himself credit for. She insisted that Du go off on her own, learn from the world and train the way that she felt was right. When everything was said and done, and if Du still wanted to learn from her, she would be happy to take her in. Du really didn’t understand what she meant, but in a way she understood that she wanted the young trainer to gain some experience of her own so that the gym leader could build upon that.
Du felt the feeler of her pokemon wrap around her hand and looked down to see Niamh looking up at her trainer and wagging her tail as if to encourage Du that it was okay and that she was going to be by her trainers side the whole time. Du offered a rather uncomfortable smile but steeled herself before pushing through the doors into the lab of the renown professor Sycamore. She was really only here for a few starter items and a pokedex, seeing as she already had her team more or less lined up and ready to go with a few extra’s stored away. Du wasn’t sure if Miss Valerie had called ahead or anything but Du couldn’t see anyone but a few aids scurrying around and ignoring her in the process. She made her way into the back of the lab and cautiously poked her head around corners and into doorways, not wanting to disturb anyone working.

Sycamore looked up from his desk as an assistant alerted him to the presence of a new trainer that was in the company of a shiny sylveon. He got up, finding the fact that they had such a sylveon out with them right now quite interesting. Valerie had mentioned she was sending a pupil of her's here to start their journey. Once he entered the front of the lab, he offered the girl - or could it possibly be a boy? - a friendly smile. "Beinvenue, ma cherie~" he greeted, making a welcoming gesture with his arms. "Do you happen to be a student of Valerie's? I was told to expect one coming by to start their journey." he asked to be sure. Though, the blue sylveon beside the youngster seemed to indicate this was in fact the one Valerie mentioned to him briefly.

Du was startled slightly by the professor as he suddenly appeared out of seemingly nowhere and spun to face him fully. Du put on a pleasant smile and a subtle -yet flourishing- bow towards the professor. "Beinvenue, Professor Sycamore." Du replied, Niamh taking a seat beside her human and looking up at the professor with a wagging tail. "And Oui, I was sent by Miss Valerie to start my journey by picking up the pokedex. I will not be needing a pokemon as I already have a team lined up for myself." Hopefully the pokemon here would all find good and wonderful trainers in order to raise them well and give them a rather good life. Seeing as Du had so many fairy types at her disposal already she was more than happy to pass up the opportunity for a none fairy starter pokemon. It wouldn't feel right to her to take a pokemon that she never planned to use at all and keep it in her bag while she traveled around the world. Better to let another child have such a gift and treasure it as their partner like Du treasured Niamh.
Niamh, though very well behaved couldn't help but cautiously approach the professor and gently sniff his being a bit, perhaps it was all the curious smells of the pokemon that he worked with that attracted Niamh to him or perhaps it was just the Professors natural musk that was the cause, either way the fairy pokemon seemed to be intrigued by the smells. Du looked down at her face softed quite a bit as she looked down at Niamh. "I hope that you don't find my refusal to take a starter pokemon from your lab an insult, Professor. But I've decided to challenge myself and theme my team with Fairy types in order to prove that Fairy types can be just as strong, resilient and good as every other pokemon out there." That and she wanted to be like her idol, Miss Valerie. She wanted to be able to dedicate herself so fully to a specific pokemon and learn how to bring out each individuals strengths to their maximum and have such a bond that she could understand the fairy pokemon as if they were talking to her in her own language. Du knew that her team wasn't going to be the strongest team out there and that there were going to be a lot of tough, almost impossible challenges out there for her to overcome, but this was what she wanted to do with herself. Who knew, maybe someday she would be called upon to run a Fairy type gym of her own someday? The thought amused her but it was just a humorous fancy at this point in time.
