Important Dates and Information
Starts August 14, 2013 at 11:59 EDT.
End date RP will be evaluated: September 21, 2013 (day before Autumnal Equinox)RP can continue with the same tags past this date, but this is the cut off for us to evaluate RP for final prizes.
Prizes will be rewarded as they're earned via triggering events.
Sign-ups are required so we know which Pae'il to track. Sign-ups will be open all week, even after the event starts, and close on August 17, 2013.
RP at your convenience. There is no minimum requirement, however minimal effort will not be rewarded.
Tips for a Successful Summer Lovin' RP ExperienceKeep your Pae'il to their personality and develop their individual quirks alongside your partner. Don't change their personality just to have them get along.
Let the relationship form naturally. Don't force it.
Have the goal be a meaningful friendship or relationship, not a breeding. (the breeding will be the icing on the cake)
Stay in the boundaries of the setting rules. If we have to interject to put the pae back on track, you'll lose any potential hidden prize opportunities for your scenario.
Don't break the fourth wall
Don't have your Pae read the mind of the other (unless that is their power), because a lot of RPers include introspection as a means for a better, more complete storytelling experience.
Don't godmod.
If your partner doesn't respond immediately don't assume their pae isn't there or doing nothing. Have patience. After a week of no replies, you have permission to have your Pae move on, but keep in mind this is a partner contest so solo RP won't count towards triggering events.
Explore your Pae's flaws, fears and quirks. Overcoming adversity is far more interesting than everything coming up roses all the time.

Rules and Participation
:[ Participation ]: All RP to be considered for this event must be in the EVENT subforum
All RP threads must be tagged with [SUMMER] which will also count as [Plot] and will be considered canon RP
Include both Pae'il names in the thread title (Sally & Bob)
Staff will, at their discretion, throw random events at random RP. These events are random. Not the result of favoritism or punishment.
Certain Pae'il actions will trigger special random events
Read any and all event announcements because any actions will need to be included immediately, even mid-RP.
Anything can happen. wink
:[ Rules ]: Pae'il must work in pairs
Pae'il do not have to get along, but they do have to work together
Relationships must be natural progressing. Blushing once does not constitute a relationship
Not all pairs have to result in a romantic relationship. Friendships are valuable too.
Only the most natural, logical romantic couples will be considered for the end-game breeding prizes. (means the romance has to make sense and can't be an instant connection)
Breeding prizes are at artist discretion and will be heavy based on what we feel is natural progression with the relationship.
Don't use this event as an excuse to breed an existing couple. Pae can know each other prior to the event, but existing couples will not be chosen for final breeding prizes. (but you are free to play with them in the event, considering breeding isn't the only prize.)
In-character, the pae are "randomly" paired up. Out-of-character, we're letting you choose who you will RP with for this contest. That's why no existing couples are allowed, because the chances of them being paired up naturally are slim.
:[ Setting Rules ]: All regular setting rules apply, in addition to these event-only rules.Flying is limited to only 6 feet in the air. Wings can be used to propel oneself forward or back, but no Pae'il is allowed to go airborne.
Unique and Faction powers can only be used if they've been approved. This includes Faerie Concepts.
Pae'il must stay in the boundaries outlined in each scenario for the duration of the event. This means they will be unavailable for any other type of RP until the end of the event.
Pae'il must follow all prompts that may be posted for them.
Please keep to authentic responses (what the pae would natually do) and avoid doing anything because you think its what we want to see.

While this trip won't exactly be relaxing, it will be fun and invigorating, just the way to reenergize a dull life!

This event is designed to introduce players to new aspects of our setting and landscape while allowing characters to discover new things on their own. We also are introducing several new sub-types of Pae'il allowing players to "debut" the first of their kind. Our goal with this event is to create genuine, lasting relationships that will play a big part in the future of our plot (Couple Luminaries, for example) as well as to include some important background information that can be helpful for future personal plotting when it comes to promote Hallowed Pae'il, or hand out Notices for additional plotting.
As with all events, this is a game with set perimeters designed to keep the playing field level and not give any one player an advantage. We ask that players respect the limitations we set, and not seek to challenge or break them. Doing so will result in disqualification from all prizes and possible future plot involvement.
We also reserve the right to amend the rules according to how things work. This is a brand new type of event and its difficult to foresee all potential issues, so we're allowing ourselves some wiggle room in case of problems. Don't worry, nothing will be altered in such a way that will harm the efforts and rewards a person has earned. |
