Factions and Organizations
Sure some trolls are blessed from birth with the ability to shoot balls of lightning out their nose. Some are naturally strong enough to juggle boulders. And maybe that's all they need. But a troll would be foolish to think they can get through life on nothing but raw talent and nostril sparks. There are plenty of groups on Alternia that are always recruiting fresh trolls into their ranks. Most of these offer benefits, such as training, finances, security, and a sense of camaraderie. Those that don't, well, at least they offer other trolls to hide behind when the bad stuff starts happening?

Benefits
These mostly vary from group to group, and are pretty much in-character perks. Like say .... a solid roof over your head in every city. Or a solid pay check every week. Or free tickets to opening movie nights. Or a discount on bubblegum. Some are obviously better than others, depending on your trolls point of view. Each group however has the benefit of numbers, and of other trolls being there on your side. While some groups are loose-knit and expect you to take care of yourself, most offer support for trolls who are going through hard times, and some sort of stability in your finances and housing arrangements.

Drawbacks
With new friends comes new enemies. Joining a group means their feuds are now yours, and their possibly disreputable past is yours too. You also have responsibilities now, and have to remember you're part of a bigger party of trolls. If you go out and start a fight, it might be one of your new buddies that gets the payback retaliation. And if you make yourself look bad, you're making your group look bad too. While some will kick you out if you cause enough trouble, others aren't so easy to get out of. And have other ways of keeping problem trolls in line.

All The Groups, All Of Them
There is nothing stopping your troll from joining more than one group. Well, apart from the ones they're already in. Each group has a blacklist of rival/enemy parties, and any of their members who are caught joining a group on the list will be dealt with, in whatever nasty way they can think up. Of course, you can try to just not get caught. But it's still risky!

Factions vs Organizations
A faction is a group that is focused around a belief or policy. Some examples are: the Queen is awesome, eating plants is murder, and Troll Leonardo DiCaprio is the hottest thing ever.
A organization is an group that is focused around an occupation or activity. Some examples are: a FLARP group, the Alternian army, the Equivocal Bulletin newspaper.

Player-run Groups
Any troll who wants to start a new faction or organization is free to start recruiting members, writing up a timetable, and designing pretty group emblems. For a group to become official, it is required to have a minimum of three members, a mission statement, and at least one benefit and one drawback. To submit a group to the list, please use the forms found on this thread and post them below. Once a group is official, you can run group events and games that can offer ~special swag~ normally only obtainable through shop-run metas and events.

GRP
A new type of rp - grp or group roleplay. instead of a orp, where anyone is free to join, or a rp where only the people who are planning to rp together are allowed, a grp is open to every member of the group that is running it. Please post the name of the group that it is open to in the title! Example:
[GRP] Meeting #24 (Regina Fan Club)

Shop-Run Groups

Quote:
The Royal Alternian Army
Organization (Military)
The Royal Alternian Army is the front line of pre-emptive defense for the entire troll population of Altenia. It's job is to serve under the current ruler of the planet and protect its citizens by travelling to other planets and aggressively pacifying every other species it runs into.

Benefits: Military housing, regular pay checks, discounts at all sponsored stores, improved travel around Alternia, free military-grade weapons.
Drawbacks: Required military service, extended offplanet travel.
Blacklist: any and all groups that oppose the Queen in any way, shape, or form.
Whitelist:
Recruitment: Open during shop-wide metas.

Quote:
Phoenix Initiative
Faction (Anti-Authority)
This mysterious organization of self proclaimed freedom fighters plots the downfall of Alternia's hemospectrum-based caste system, while fighting to defend the downtrodden and oppressed from the shadows.

Benefits: Safehouses, protection against Highblood abuse, military-grade weaponry, secret travel routes, an impressive intelligence gathering organization.
Drawbacks: Hunted by all pro-royalty organizations and factions.
Blacklist: Pro-Authority groups, any group on the whitelist of, and the Royal Alternian Army.
Whitelist:
Recruitment: Open during shop-wide metas.

Quote:
Lightseekers
Faction
“Strive To Elevate Our Nature
Strive For Independence
Strive For A Brighter Future“

The Lightseekers is an alliance of trolls run by Panili Synemn, seeking to promote the betterment of Alternia through the challenging of the traditional Alternian Lifestyle. The three basic tenants of the group are the foundation of their activities.

…Elevate Our Nature: Acts of violence and barbarism are ingrained in Alternian society and are intended to keep the population subservient and incapable of progress. Hostility destroys the bonds between individuals and senseless acts of brutality lower trolls to the level of simple animals. To this end, the Lightseekers seek to offer non-violent solutions to issues and provide progressive outlets to redirect the unsavory tendencies that trolls are burdened with. Counseling, labor and charity work are a few examples of this type of work.
…Independence: Being fully aware of the Alternian system at large, the Lightseekers aim to form a solid foundation of self-reliant living in order to step away from the roots of Alternian ills perpetuated by the government. Working together to create infrastructure without the assistance of drones and learning to live off the land is an incredibly valuable skill for any adaptable troll, and within the Lightseekers is imperative for a solid community. A focus on the appreciation and preservation of the natural environment and life is often a fundamental part of Lightseeker activities.
…A Brighter Future: Discussion and philosophy are important, but action is the key to a movement. Putting the ideals of the Lightseekers into place to secure the safety and wholesomeness of the troll race is an integral part of the Lightseekers’ agenda. Whether it is by staying active in the community, spreading the word or making oneself an example, it is important to remain ardent but humble in one’s task. With the inevitability of space travel on the horizon, the Lightseekers hope to redirect the path of the Alternian space directive to focus on the non-destructive expansion of the Alternian race – seeking knowledge and unity rather than power and dominance.

As of now, membership is small with a recently established headquarters in the plains outside of New Hemisect. She is joined by the few members of an Alternian space crew that crash landed recently, and who have stuck to her since her correctly prophesized fears concerning the Civisect and Chittentown Space Ladders.

Benefits: A feeling of worth, access to information concerning worldly news, a chance to start at the beginning of a newly formed organization, low-key, grassroots foundation = relatively new and under the radar, casual participation accepted
Drawbacks: Humble funding & participation, punishments for violent actions towards others, potential for royalist scrutiny
Blacklist: N/A – groups promoting wanton violence are frowned upon
Whitelist: N/A
Recruitment: Open! PM Sypon for details.

Quote:
Alternian League of Gladiaterrors
Organization
An organization of combatants formed for public and private combat, for the purpose of entertainment, judicial punishment, and demonstrations of power and scale.

Benefits: Housing and food, good pay, potential for fame and notoriety, relief from criminal record and relative emancipation from legal and social restrictions, combat training and battle experience, actions approved by Alternian Military, special privilege and opportunity in the Four Fronds Coliseum, free hunting excursions in Four Fronds woods
Drawbacks: Potential for severe harm or death, contract restrictions (particularly from criminals working off sentences), in eye of Alternian government
Blacklist: The Phoenix Initiative, other Anti-Authority groups
Whitelist: The Alternian Military
Recruitment: See [LOC] The Imperious Coliseum for details.

Quote:
The Cult of the Mirthful Messiahs
Faction (Faith)
The predominant religion on Alternia: a group that foretells a band of rowdy and capricious minstrels which will rise one day on a mythical Paradise Planet (that doesn't exist yet). A group predominantly of highbloods, but open to any caste willing to believe and follow the tenets of the capricious faith. For additional information, see the in-character Juggalo Information Booklet and refer to the Troll Mega Info Thread.

Benefits: Sense of family and togetherness, protection by highblooded members of the cult, justification for violence and other acts committed due to faithfulness, access to sugary beverages, wild parties and concerts, potential for powerful position in government
Drawbacks: Stigma by non-believers, threat of violence or death if tenets aren't followed, disrespect is shown to other members, or there is an attempt to leave the cult
Blacklist: : o )
Whitelist: : o )
Recruitment: open! PM Sypon for details.

Player-Run Groups

Once you have posted this form below, a mod will edit your post when it has been approved as an official group. You can edit this as your group grows and changes (black/whitelist, training, benefits, etc) but if there are any large changes, (new name, new mission statement, training offered) pm the mule after they have been updated to re-accept. An easy way to keep track of members and such is by creating a thread in the character plots subforum of our guild, and link it in your post below.
If the group is disbanding or changing to a new leader, please pm the mule letting us know so we can get rid of inactive/outdated group posts.
Trolls will not get in character perks, and groups cannot run events, until the group is made official! A group must visibly display a minimum of three members somewhere in the post for it to be approved!
Group Title
Organization or Faction (see below)
Your groups mission statement goes here. What do they do, and hope to achieve?

Benefits: what nifty perks does your group offer? why would people want to join?
Drawbacks: are you gonna get in trouble joining this group? are there any demands placed on new members?
Blacklist: are there any other groups that suck? put 'em here! *
Whitelist: got any allied groups? write them down here
Recruitment: link to a recruitment/info thread in the plot section. Groups can have requirements to join, such as a band having auditions, and they do not have to be constantly open for recruitment.

They can be in-group exclusive, or put on by the group for non-group trolls (recruitment events, etc). If your group would like to run an event, please pm the mule to discuss what you would like to do and see what prizes you can offer. Groups can only run events/games every 3 months.

Group Locations

The Socialiste Party
Organization (Social)
The Socialiste Party is dedicated to the finer things life has to offer, and having some quiet time to be fancy and indulgent, as well as to socialize with other trolls.

Benefits: Free food is offered at every meeting, training is offered for any troll wishing help with social skills (not really a fighting skill thing, more of a personality developer for shy or awkward trolls), and information is often swapped between trolls as they gossip. Oftentimes members will go on "trips" to hotspots around Four Fronds.
Drawbacks: Leaving this organization is very hard, as you will probably be beaten up by Eostre and other members if you try. Also you will be forced to interact with other members, staying quiet in the corner will not be allowed, and you can be interrogated by members basically at any time.
Blacklist: Any group about secrecy and loneliness I guess?
Whitelist: Other social party groups!
Recruitment: Open

N. FLARPers' League
Organization - Sports
The NFL is an organization born of a desire to unify trolls with similar interests in a utilitarian yet entertaining sport. It aims to provide opportunities for both competitive team play and recreational play, so that trolls may be well-socialized and well-prepared for eventual entry into the illustrious Alternian military. This accomplishes the dual goals of attracting a broader audience for our fine sport as well as providing self-improvement within our members. The NFL hopes to spread the value of FLARPing and keep its spirit alive through new avenues of play.

Benefits: It's an easy source of spars and experience, and FLARPing can gain you treasure in the form of new weapons and equipment to help you out in battle. Also clothes and free lunch at events or something like that. Members can post personal ads seeking FLARP spars in teams or advertising narrative sessions they're clouding.
Drawbacks: Open discussion of anti-governmental sentiment will get you banned and reported, because it's run by someone really paranoid. Openly associating with criminal activities will also get you banned. FLARPing is also a pretty large investment - while the League is free to join, it certainly costs money to purchase equipment.
Blacklist: People who openly associate with crime groups.
Whitelist: There isn't a particular whitelist.
Recruitment: closed for setup.

The Skate Queen Slayers Roller Derby Team
Organization (Sport)
For rough-and-tumble trolls looking to show off their skating and shoving chops as part of a kick-a** team! We’re here to win!

Benefits: It’s fighting AND racing! Members are allowed to use the Skate Queen’s rink for sparring—so long as they’re on wheels! Rasali will teach your troll to skate if they don’t already know how. Plus you get discount nachos at the snack bar.
Drawbacks: Kids can’t participate in matches until they’re older! On a darker note, while the club itself is benign, Team Captain Rasali is a staunch rebel supporter. This probably won’t have any ramifications for her teammates, though. Probably.
Blacklist: Only rival skate teams!

Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC)
Organization(Military)

The JROTC is committed to preparing Alternia's youth for their careers in the military by instilling the values of citizenship, servitude to the crown and personal growth and accomplishment. Training is both mental and physical. This organization is extremely patriotic and aims to empower enthusiastic cadets on their way to military greatness.

Benefits: The core benefit is a sense of community for those interested in working towards a military career while being too young to officially enlist. Members meet for training sessions to improve their skills and also network with older trolls currently in the military to form social connections. The group is not restricted to aspiring soldiers either; fighters, doctors, spies and so on can join and hone their skills to prove their loyalty and usefulness to the crown. Trolls of any age can join as a mentor or as a junior.
Drawbacks: A member's actions reflect on the entire organization's reputation as a whole. This means the JROTC is extremely strict when it comes to its loyalty to the queen and pro-hemospectrum stance. Anyone deviating from the social norms encouraged by the Queen will be rejected or kicked out of the group and shunned or attacked by the remaining members.
Blacklist: Anti-military groups
Whitelist: Pro-Queen organizations

Explorer's Guild
Organization (Sport)
A group for trolls interested in exploring Alternia's wilderness. This organization is partially sport, partially social as it brings together trolls to camp out in nature a couple of times a sweep in order to connect with the wild and discover hidden hideaways. The Explorer's Guild does it's best to avoid accidentally stumbling into a hermit's hive and focuses on teaching camping and survival skills to new members (and practicing those skills for group veterans).

Benefits: There is a complimentary water bottle and filter for those who join. You will also learn how to make perfect s'mores. The biggest benefit of joining the group is making camping buddies to stargaze with and share campfire songs with.
Drawbacks: Surviving in the wild can be pretty dangerous with the wild animals, daywalkers and rough terrain. You might get hurt on the exploration outings if you're not careful and medical care is limited to emergency first aid kits. There are no fees to join this group but you will be expected to bring your own gear and that includes portable recuperacoons.

Investigative Office Union (IOU)
Organization (Industry)
The IOU is concerned with one thing and one thing only: uncovering the truths of the world. The group is dedicated to seeking out hidden secrets and uncovering falsified stories in order to understand the truth of an event. They are a collection of businesses that focus on investigative work: journalists, detectives, prosecutors and so on. They hope to uncover all the truths and lies of the world. What their clients do with the “truth” is up to them.

Benefits: Members benefit by being a part of the shared office building and getting an office of their own, provided they chip in for some rent. Members are expected to help other members in their work if they can provide assistance in their field (use the abilities of your colleagues and provide help to them yourself).

Members may also participate in IOU recreational activities such as the office softball team and the office holiday parties.
Drawbacks: The reputation of the IOU might fluctuate between well received by the public and unpopular depending on the group’s successes and failures. Your own reputation may benefit but could also suffer greatly due to your association with the IOU.

There is also a danger in investigating powerful businesses and individuals that could land you in trouble.
Blacklist: None yet
Whitelist: None yet
Recruitment: Submit a business application for the group to review, must work in the same building as the other businesses or be willing to relocate to it (can also work for other members’ businesses to qualify for membership). Our office is located in NHC Pinnacle Square, office building 3B

FIGHT CLUB
Organization
Fight Club is an organization that prizes an individuals own prowess, strength, and ability. In simpler terms, it's a group that allows members to come together and fight! Whether it's to show off their own skills or to hone new ones, both skilled and novice fighters are welcomes and encouraged to join. Fight Club boasts a variety of resources so that trolls can get all the experience and training they could ever need!

Benefits: Fight Club provides resources and networking for trolls who either love to fight, or want to get better at fighting. By joining Fight Club, you'll have access to a variety of veteran fighters, their experience, and like-minded individuals that you can forge strong friendships with! Fight Club provides a leader board system to encourage friendly (or not so friendly) competition with your fellow members! Members that can boast experience or prowess with combat can enroll in the Mentor program and younger individuals (child) have access to apprenticeship programs.

Drawbacks: Because Fight Club is owned and operated by a military Lieutenant, doing anti-government activities or participating in any sort of anti-authority conversation will likely get you banned or reported. Members of Fight Club are also expected to be fairly active and any sort of s**t talking of Fight Club by members to outside members will be put into their place if found out. Disrespect within the group is also a no-go.

Blacklist: Anything inherently anti-authority.
Whitelist: Military Good
