Listening to Elsie's instructions Alice nodded. She was going head to head with Layton and she knew it would be fun. Smiling brightly she waited for her captain to finish before getting up on her broom and into the air. Looking around for the snitch Alice didn't want to let simple try-outs get the better of her. Not that she ever did.

Jasper listened Elsie's directives and when it came to him he gave her a light nod. "Sure I can do that." he replied before getting on his broom. Meeting Zephyros in the air. "Okay so as Elsie said the seekers Layton and Alice are off limits to us but everyone else is fair game. So I'm not sure how much you know about this position but all you have to do is watch the bludgers. Line up you bat, with it and give it a swing directing it at your target." he explained. "So consider this target practice and give it your best shot." He added before taking a swing at Cathy.

Alice was glad she spotted the snitch early and headed off after it. She wasn't going to lose it she wouldn't. Smiling Alice was glad to be back in the air playing although she'd admit it was hard taking over for someone who was extremely good at what she did. Luckily the short girl had faith in pulling through today. If not that was fine by her too.

When she missed again, Cathy lined up to take the shot. She watched as the quaffle was in Emily's hand... and then it passed through and through the hoop. Rider could have cursed. She wasn't doing very good so far. Emily recovered the quaffle and tossed it to Rider. Now it was her turn. She knew that Cathy was going to steal it away from her, but Rider was going to try her best to prevent that. She rocketed off down the pitch, holding the quaffle tightly in her hand.

Just when Rider thought that she had broken away from the older Chaser, Cathy swooped in and stole the quaffle away from her. Rider was going to turn around to chase after her when she felt a hard object crash into her side. She cried out loudly, watching the crazy ball swerve away from her. Her side smarted hard and she felt tears spring to her eyes. Swallowing hard, she tried her best to focus against the pain. Cathy was making her way towards Emily again. Gritting her teeth, Rider, chased after her and attempted to steal again, despite the mounting pain in her side.

Still following the snitch, Alice kept her eyes locked on it. She was getting close but not close enough. With a little more push she'd get there. She had no idea if Layton had found the snitch yet but she hoped he did. Like a friendly puff, Alice liked it when her teammates succeeded even if they were her opponent for the time being.

Jasper had to admit that Zephyros was pretty good for a first year. Landing a hit on Rider who was also new to the world of quidditch. He planned on making it harder for Cathy thought even though he missed. Trying his hand again Jasper took another swing once he was in distance of the bludger. Attempting to hit Cathy this time around.
