Rider nodded along with Cathy as she spoke, flushing a little pink when she said that Rider would be captain next year. She'd almost forgotten that fact. When Cathy announced the teams, Rider nodded and moved to her team. She mounted her broom and said, "These are just try-outs, so don't try to kill each other, but have fun." She smiled and then donned her goggles. Pushing up, she waited until the Quaffle was released, then went after it.

Rider easily came away with the Quaffle and tucked it under her arm, then turned and made a beeline for the goal. Sure, she didn't need to try so hard, since she already made the team, but the other Houses weren't going to simply let the others steal. So she wanted to make it difficult. This would be fun.

Zeph nodded to Cathy as she started tryouts with introductions. He was very well aware of the whole thing, and just listened to where he was going to be placed. He mounted up after grabbing a bat, ready to get up and fly since he was more than capable of doing that. He watched the battle for the quaffle and decided that his first target was going to have to be Rider. He just hoped she didn't mind.

Cathy watched as Rider came out with the quaffle and decided to attempt a steal from her vice captain and send the quaffle to Emma's hands. Catching passes was important and she wanted to see how the second year would fair. Of course she had to get the quaffle first.
Cathy smiled as she came away with the quaffle and waited before she tossed her intended pass for a moment before she was sure she was clear of Rider and Iris.

Chase took off when tryouts began. She immediately began looking for a bludger. She was against Cathy, Emma, and Zeph, which was easy enough. She spotted a bludger and aimed it directly at Zeph. Main goal of any game was to strike out the opposing beaters so your team had nothing to worry about bludger wise. She aimed and swung.

Rider beat her to the quaffle. Despite the let down Emma wasn't going to give up yet. 'Not a great start....' She thought racing off after Rider. Watching Cathy get the ball back Emma was grateful. Following close by she was prepared for anything be it a pass or stealing the quaffle back.

When got her assignment for the tryouts, Hannah eagerly mounted her broom and launched herself into the air. She wanted nothing more than the chance to prove she could do the job, and Beater was her favourite position. As the game started she saw a Bludger aimed toward Rider, and she swooped in, hoping to intercept it. She didn't want to get cute here, wanting to just deflect the missile off its course. Hannah took a swing at the flying cannonball with the Beater bat...

When Cathy tossed Emma the ball she caught with ease. Racing towards the goal turned one way and threw the other. Hopefully, she was able to get a first score and give Cathy a reason to put her on the team. Not that she complained being a reserve last year of course.

Lionel actually gave somewhat of a smile when he found out that he would play goalkeeper for both teams. He would get a lot of practice this way. Going up to his post, he awaited the game to start. And when it did, he stayed keen to what was happening and who had the ball. It wasn't long after that Emma had got a shot on goal and it was certainly a good one, that was for sure. Very well placed, and hard to save...but he would try and get his hand on it. He came a bit off his line to try to meet the Quaffle's path, but it would take quite a good jump to save it. And much to his disbelief, he had gotten a hold on the shot, tipping it up slightly to catch it. He looked for the nearest person on the other team to pass to. He threw it over to Rider, trying to get it there before anyone else can steal it from her.

Her shot landed on Zeph easily and she smirked. With another glance around, she spiraled towards the other bludger and aimed it at Emma. She had already thrown the quaffle by the time she sent it out, but she might as well knock her down a peg.
