As the snitch made its final escape, Tristain's face went glum, and she decreased her speed and began to descend to the ground. As she closed in on the swaying grass, she tried to look back at her performance and judge herself from an unbiased standpoint, but she just couldn't manage.

Keeping positive, she put on a willing smile as her feet touched down, landing stylishly and swinging her leg back over so that she was once again on two feet and hard ground. Looking up at Phinelia, she waited to see what would come next.

Phi's molten eyes gleamed when all three of the female Seeker tryouts had finished their attempts. None had managed to capture the makeshift Snitch, however that was not particularly the elements the Captain had been looking for in the flight and fight that was displayed by all three. Each had impressed her considerably but one was already soundly placed in her mind for the position. "Thank you very much," she deemed, throwing the ball over to her muddle of personal things found just next to the broomstand. Lowering herself slightly from her height to address the gathered once more, she nodded to the two practising formations and passing, encouraging them to rejoin for further instruction.
"Chaser tryouts next. Everyone who would like to try for that position, or simply try it, please form here." Her professional tone finally escalating to one that could be deemed respectable form the shy mumble it usually found itself in the pitch of. Eyes glancing over them and silently giving the leeway for those whom were now not trying out to continue practising on their own, out of the way. "I need one pair. You will be passing the Quaffle between each other while the others are attempting to steal it from you." With a thrown up motion of her hand, she willed them all now concentrated for the tryout to rise into the air at her motion. Eyes already piercing and observant once more as she flew back a touch to observe the motions of each.

[so same rules apply as would in a real game. Roll a 67, a 39 or a 71 to steal the quaffle. otherwise roleplay out the passes]

Rosemarie smiled and raised her hand, volunteering for th position of passing the quaffle. She mounted her broom and pushed into the air. "Ok, So who will I be training with?" she said. I wonder who is brave enough? she wondered as she looked over the other hopefuls.

Not wanting to be left out of Quidditch if she didn't make the team, Cat cleared her throat to attract Phi's attention."Erm, Phi, may I try out for Chaser as well, in case I don't get the position of Seeker?" Not playing with the team would break her poor heart, and she couldn't let that happen.

Phi smiled to Cathryn, "Of course, you can try out for every position. You may not know what you are good at." glancing over the heads of all gathered, curiosity prickling alongside Rosemarie's own to see who would step up.

Shina floated forward. "I'll try," she said. Gripping the broom firmly with her legs, she held her hands chest height, ready to catch the quaffle.

"In that case," Cat announced in response to Phi's answer, "Sign me up!" Mounting her broom again, she leaped onto her broom and shot up into the air. She flew around for a while, then came to rest next to Shina. "Hey, good job with the Seeker try-outs!"

She told the girl, just being a good teammate and a good sport. But she also did think that the dark haired girl had done a really good job.

When Tristain caught ear of Phi's statement regarding her willingness to allow each participant to try-out for whichever positions they desired, a sad thought crossed her mind. Of course she wanted to be seeker—she wanted it more than anything right now. But would that desire be enough? What if she didn't make it? Could she handle that turn down—especially when she had thought herself to be trying out for chaser upon arriving at the pitch.

Tristain thought long and hard before taking a deep breath and stepping forward to show that she, too, would try out for the chaser position as a fallback in case she lost the competition for seeker.

The ripple of enthusiasm and offer spread into the eyes of each Ravenclaw present and Phi found herself standing a bit straighter in face of of it. "Alvern, O'Malley and Raines, you team up to practice formation and manoeuvres and passing. You will have the Quaffle first while Kiremono and Henrick will try to steal it and break your formation." Fighting the urge to click her heels together in military salute, thought of Mr Raines and his constant strong air of command as a leader urging her for it.
[so again, three tries each(=three posts each) for Chase and Shina to try and steal]

Tristain nodded with an attempt at a smile as she swung her leg over her broom and pushed off into the air once more. She caught the quaffle easily as she kicked off the ground and soared up into the air.

The Ravenclaw tried to loosen up her limbs again as she went, rotating her shoulder blades and stretching her arms to prepare for throwing. She had put all thoughts of the chaser position out of her head since arriving, and despite all the practice she had put towards it over the summer, she felt surprisingly nervous.

Circling around until the others were in the air, she began to fly parallel to the other second year--Rosemarie, then surged into a barrel dive and--with all her strength--hurled the quaffle in the girl's direction.

Shina shot up into the air, pursuing the blond second year. Shina watched carefully as the girl actually started stretching in mid-air, hoping to catch the quaffle if the other girl dropped it. No such luck. Shina caught Chase's eye and nodded towards Cathryn, while she flew to cover Rosemarie.

Shina did her best to stay between Tristain and Rosemarie, waiting for an attempt to pass. Suddenly, Tristain dropped below the level Shina was guarding and threw the quaffle upwards to Rosemarie! Shina dropped and twisted, trying to intercept the ball...

Rosemarie reached out and caught the flying Quaffle, she tucked it into he arm and flew forward, her hair whipping about her. "I should've put my hair up." she muttered as some hair blew into her face.Shaking her head she looked for the third chaser, O'Malley, she nodded at her as she looked to see if the coast was clear to pass. She tossed the quaffle. Towards the older girl. Catch it. Catch it. Catch it. she chanted inside her head.
