After a short break, Shou decided to clean up the dojo. If this would be his place of training and refuge, he would treat this building as if it were a temple. Dusting, sweeping, polishing, and even organizing all the weapons and training gear. At the end of it all Shou looked onto the dojo with pride. "i guess I'll head over to the academy and study some scrolls now." he said as he exited for the academy.

Belamos's training sessions were always intense, this one would be doubly so. It was time to gather some power before he presented himself to the President. The first technique was just an aggressive stab. Reeling his arm back he shot his spear out with a high speed attack, and retrieved it just as quickly. That was simple. The next attack was going to be just as easy. All he had to do was take a very quick step. With a tightening of his muscles he kicked off with all his power and shot forward, taking a very quick but very short step. It would be useful as a gap closer he supposed. The last technique of this stage would be reinforcing his weapon with chakra. Basic. He ran his hand down the length of his weapon and watched as fire crawled along his tool's skin. Soon, this would piece the sides of his enemies.

Stage One Learned

By coating his weapon in chakra he could stop his opponents attacks in mid air. Finding some useless peon, Belamos commanded him to assist in his training. The mongrel hurled two kunai at Belamos who whirled his spear in response. The two kunai stopped in mid air when they would have normally been knocked aside by his weapon. Letting the technique end, the two knives dropped to the ground. The next attack required that same peon. Belamos had him attack him and, when their strikes met, he slid his spear down the length of the man's sword. This closed the gap and let Belamos strike more effectively. The next attack was a simple block. Pivoting his leg he knocked the strike by the man aside. This unique block also let him strike with a little bit more power.

Stage Two Learned

The next technique called for some intense meditation. He would sit and concentrate, going over his physical ability in his head, focusing on speed. After a few minutes of silent reflection, he was confident he could move faster than he had previously. Time to move on. The next attack would artificially extended his weapon by almost two feet. Channeling chakra out, he performed a thrust and let the chakra go as it pushed out, driving his blade further home. That was an interesting attack to be sure. The next step was to practice his footing. Belamos spread his feet wide and went through a series of motions while keeping track of his center of gravity. Naturally nimble, he had very little difficulty mastering this. The next attack would cause an invisible blade to follow behind his. Channeling the chakra, he coasted his spear and swung it, laughing as a split second later a gash appeared on the wooden dummy. This would prove to be useful, he was sure.

Stage Three Learned

It seemed every new stage would consist of a bout of meditation. Now, however, he was getting to the levels worthy of his godly skills. Placing his lance across his lap, he sat upon the ground in silent reflection. He had yet to be truly tested in battle, so he was unsure what his limits were. In his head he fought a mental opponent. He needed to be stronger; to be faster. It was his goal to bring the world to it's knees and he could not do that at this level. Standing up he went about some movements, much more deliberately than when he sat down. The next one was similar. By focusing his mind and channeling chakra, he could augment the strength of his strikes for a few heartbeats. He went through the motions of stetches. Striking out with his spear. It wasn't just a tool, it was part of him- it was his arm or his leg. With it he would sow the fields with the blood of his enemies. Time to get harvest. Moving onto more offensive techniques he would read the next line of his scroll. This was a simple disarming technique. Belamos called his aid over and had him come at him with a sword. Channeling his chakra and following the directions, Belamos spun his weapon. With a quick "clang" the man's sword hit the ground as Belamos knocked it out of his hand. They would practice a few more times. Eventually Belamos felt confident that he had the ability down. The last thing he would learn would be the double strike method. To practice he would quickly jab over and over again. Then, when he had that down, he would get to the real work. Almost like a feint, he would quickly strike again. The second strike was much faster than the first albeit a little weaker. It would really hurt to get hit by this! After a few dozen minutes he had the technique down and would wrap up his training in this style of armed combat. Time to move on

Stage Four Learned

The next style he would learn was specifically for polearms, his specialty. The foundation being a strong stance. Belamos entered the first stance and practiced striking from it, mastering the basics quickly. The next was a basic block. It only took him a minute to have it down pact. He was far beyond simple sh*t like this. He needed more of a challenge.

Stage One Learned

The next technique was a simple step in. By stepping forward as he attacked he could increase his forward momentum. It was, again, very simple and mastered on the first try. Not much room for error in this regard. The next technique was a simple jab. Belamos was insulted by the basic status of these attacks, still, he need complete them to move on. Jabbing out, he proved he could perform a basic attack and quickly moved on. The last technique he would learn in this infuriating style was a defensive stance. Belamos spread his legs and placed his spear between him and his enemy. It was very simple, and that only angered him further. Time to take a break, lest he be insulted by the simple nature of his physical challenges.

Stage Two Learned

Break over, time to get back to work. The first technique of the next style made things a little bit more complex. He needed to practice weilding his spear quicker and more nimbly. Belamos would begin spinning his staff and striking out, incorparating stance transfers and lateral movements as he kept his weapon spinning. It was the first instance of difficulty he had when using this style. It took a while, but eventually he had it down. All of his Spear attacks were now noticeably quicker. Awesome, time to move on. The stance for this stage was also focused on spear. Thankfully, he was a master of the Lance. He could use it with any weapon style, and that included the staff which this was made for. Taking the motions that the scroll dictated was necessary, he set the stance up. It wasn't particularly difficult, but he practiced attacking from it nonetheless. After a few minutes he had it down. It was a Weak Stance, but quick. It would do. Moving on. The next technique was a set up technique. By stepping out quickly he could increase his next attacks speed, while also dodging. He would practice doing so, bending over with a step and spinning his spear behind his back. This was the first instance of a failure. He managed to drop his spear multiple times. It took quiet a bit of practice for him to master it so that he could take the step, dodge and strike out all while maintaining a certain level of speed. With non-inconsiderable effort he was able to master it and finally move on to the next technique of the stage. The next technique was a block. The most effective way to train it would be to have the aforementioned aid throw kunai at him. It owuld certainly be a do or die situaiton. The man started lobbing the projectiles and Belamos sprang into action. By rapidly reacting, he didnt have time to think. He let his body take over and move. It was more instinct than anything for him to get the technique down. Eventually he felt like he had mastered it and could move onto the next technique. It would come to be useful. The final technique of the style would be combining his weapon with the essense of fire. His chakra was very powerful and so was his connection. Pinching his thumb and pointer finger together, he would run them down the length of his weapon. As he did so his blade sprang to life with fire. It crackled on his weapon and gave it considerably more power. He was sure he would use this a lot in the future. Combined with being powerful, it actually just looked really cool. He had this mastered, and for now, he was done.

Katherine arrived with minutes to spare, as she hadn't left too long after Belamos. In all seriousness, he had gotten farther ahead because he simply moved with more swiftness than the Aburame did. When she did arrive, her hair was tied back, and glasses were off of her eyes. The soft lilac color, dull but still somehow striking, rested on him as she approached wordlessly. She gave a light bow of the head in acknowledgement of his presence, but otherwise didn't speak. He knew her to be quiet with purpose. This was no different.

At Katherines arrival, Belamos inhaled deeply as he studied her. They had graduated at the same time, yet he was much further ahead then she. He can only pin his raw talent and indomitable drive to succeed as the cause of that. Her own laziness held her back "Katherine" He spoke, letting the word hang in the air between them "That man in the office seems unaware of our past together. Let me make this clear from the start- I do not consider you my student. You are an ally working towards our mutual goal and, thus, do not place myself as your teacher" Belamos tapped the butt of his spear on the ground to punctuate that declaration as he continued speaking "However, I will use this situation to our mutual benefit. I can assign you tasks due to my elevated status to help you rise more expeditiously through the shinobi rankings, and the UHV will see your growth as a reflection of my own merit. Furthermore, you will be a formidable tool in my war with these mongrels"

He would pause for a moment, letting the thought of her being a means to an end possibly play through her head before continuing "Vivian has not the heart for subterfuge and the dirty work that will be required to see the throne vacated by the UHV pretenders. For that, I depend upon you."

Belamos would walk over to his pack and draw forth several bundled parchments. They contained missives; orders for missions to be completed by the various patrons who hired such forces. "First, train yourself. Do not go into battle ill-prepared. Afterwords, I need you to deal with the cases of Grafiti in town. A class series on Bloodline Usage is being taught, I want you to be the guest speaker seeing as that is your forte. There is also a crime scene that needs investigating..." He continued, flipping through the papers "Uhhh...oh, there's a thieves guild that needs to be taken care of as well as a possible riot. The Gates also need to be reinforced. Finally..." Belamos approached Katherine, speaking quietly so that only she could hear "I want you to go undercover with me at a bar frequented by UHV soldier. I want an estimate on their forces in the village." Stepping back from Katherine, he would make a dismissive motion with his hand "That's all I have for now, I'll observe your training and assist where I can"

Belamos was a talker, that much was never going to change. He wanted to be a great leader one day, and the way he carried himself and the aura he exuded was not to be discoutned. He had charisma, and charm like a pretty boy. What annoyed Katherine about him was how he always had so much to say. Katherine usually had an advantage over Vivian in that she wore glasses that were thick and dark: Belamos couldn't see she was very rarely looking at him when looking in his direction when her mind wandered. It was because she put such little stock in words that it was hard for her to follow him. It wasn't until he said that it was his war to fight against the UHV that she gave even the slightest indication of anything other than above-grade apathy. A squint, a milimeter of her nostril flaring a bit. He didn't know, and it wasn't his grudge to hold on to, but she had known quite a dear loss to them. He treated her like a means to an end more than a friend, and that was fine if it were honestly true. But the fact remained that Katherine didn't care about prestige and grandstanding, nor status. She wanted them erased, smeared across the ground. As much as she was a tool for him, he was simply a locamotive for her as well where they were concerned.

Her hand found itself on her hip in the small pause he took. Nothing more, nothing less. Vivian wasn't like her, she wasn't as reserved nor as... vicious at heart so far as Katherine had observed topically. She nodded in agreement, and allowed him to draw all of the directives, listening in on his words. As her superior, he had things he wanted her to get done. Fine by her. She let her eyes flicker to the papers, the rest of her face unmoving, hard to read as always. She turned when he dismissed her to begin, going to grab some scrolls on the styles she was interested in beginning with. She dropped each of them off to the side of the mat she stepped up to.

In the center was one of those towering posts that moved when struck to help with training reflex and striking. She began with basic strikes, moving her body in direct, hard strikes. She was aware that at the low level of strength she was putting the effort in to, it wouldn't look impressive, but this level of training was always necessary for progress to be made. [Hard Formless: D & 1/3 Performance: C] She moved on, using her body's full suite of limbs after a few minutes. She was oddly quick of a study considering one wouldn't expect a person devoted to the Aburame to be so good with their body. Still, each strike sent another section of her target's body reeling around into her so she could avoid it. To her, for some reason, this was like second nature. [Soft Formless: C and 2/3 Performance: D]

With the warmup done, Katherine unrolled the first scroll, Be Water My Friends, and looked over the skills, having Belamos look over the scroll with her and give her advice where she could. Before getting started, she rolled out her shoulder, still feeling phantom pains from the hospitalization.

To begin, she dropped her center of gravity a bit, bending at the knees so as to keep herself level with the earth. She put her dominant foot back and held up her hands in a very basic boxer's stance. Observing where her weight was as she moved side to side, she figured she could make some movements more quickly from this one. [Flow like Water, D rank Performance +10 chakra and stamina]

The next skill was dedicated to keeping her from getting hit in the first place, rather than have to block or deal with being struck. She moved to the side, making quick motions in as many directions as she could think to do so. She imagined going to the side to avoid a kick, moving right out of the range of her aggressor. She pictured stepping out of the arc of a swing, watching the arm fly haplessly by. [Shift like the Sea D rank perforamce 1/3]

Within the confines of a simple dodge and strike scenario, Katherine didn't necessarily need to swing at the air to understand how to punch someone after a dodge. Rather, she went over the move on the paper before her, looking at illustrations and paying mind to the fact that timing was key to her ability to take advantage of an opponent's misstep. She was interested in putting her targets down hard, fast, and without being hurt herself. [Crash like a Wave]

For the next training, she worked on the same principle, though at this point she was just slowly adjusting her movements based on timing. She used Belamos's help, avoiding strikes with her deft doge movements and attacking in the seconds that he was still carrying through on his offensive motion or in the recoil. Within a few minutes of training this, the general principle was ingrained in the Aburame. [Undertow]

The next skill was not one that required quite as much training. It was a very simple injection of chakra into the body of the user, specifically into the legs. It extends the ability to close or create gaps, and as such it was just a burst of movement. She used it to back away from Belamos, guard still up, faster than should have been possible. [Seaworthy, D rank performance 2/3]

The motion for dodging, so far, was an entire step from one side to another, and while this was useful it could also be said to be wasteful. This next training was geared towards helping Katherine avoid attacks with less large movements. Now, as she had Belamos strike out she kept her feet mostly planted, only shifting her upperbody from side to side, bobbing low and weaving as necessary to avoid them. As she did the routine, she allowed him to come as close as she could, feeling wind wisp past her face. [Embrace the Brine]

The next attack put her back up against her dummy. A strike against one of the limbs made it spin, and quickly too. She ducked under the coming attack skillfuly and moved in a step, allowing chakra to well up around her fist as she shoved it into the center of the dummy. It was strongly rooted into the ground so rather than it flying, she slid back from it a solid five feet. [A Strong Current, D rank Performance 3/3]

The next skill was one that wasn't too rough for Katherine to wrap her head around, so she didn't necessarily have to physically perform it. It involved being proactive in avoiding attack and weaving in an instant punishment in the form of an attack, and then in the moment where the opponent was too slow to avoid the first a second would be launched. With the way this style worked, it wouldn't be too difficult to force an opponent into a situation where that would be prudent until they reached the upper echelon of melee combat. By that point, she hoped not to have to do it as much, but better safe than sorry. [The Deep]

Katherine stopped to rest for a bit, but got back to it without missing a beat. For the next training, the idea behind the name was not lost on Katherine. Gathering every Inch of Sail referred to using every bit of potential energy, and where it related here was the idea that if you can dodge an attack, you can react in other ways too. Rather than a straight up dodge, this training taught one to strike at the offending limb or weapon. It would prove to be a safer option than avoiding in cases where someone could end up disarmed. It was mroe than simple side steps or weaving that she needed to be capable of. Slapping an incoming attack aside could be equally jarring and frustrating, as well as potentially damaging to any target. She practiced with her dummy as well as she could until the innate desire to just move passed on and she was comfortable with doing either of them. [ Gather Every Inch of Sail]

For her next trick, Katherine had a hell of a concept to learn, and for it she mvoed over to the sandbags where she would practice adding strength to her skills. She delivered a straight, measuring how far the bag moved, and then reset it to add on the power with Building Storm. She swung her arm in a small but tight circle like as if she was Balrog activating his V trigger, and delivered the punch again. This time it moved significantly farther than before. She reset once more and replicated the attack, this time in a haymaker, letting a bit of her pent up irritation release as she impacted the solid back. The recoil of the bag was farther still. She didn't quite understand how it worked, but she was appreciative of the fact that it did. [Building Storm]

So far, she had learned quite a lot of skills useful for smacking around people or delivering fast attacks that could also be augmented to shove people away. This was pleasing for the girl, as she was comfortable at most ranges in theory. Still, as she looked over the next skill, she realized this stage of training was almost all about beating down opponents more brutally. Building Storm could transform those less strong attacks, including formless ones, into heavy hitting power-punches. In a way, this skill was along similar lines. With a simple imparting of chakra, the opponents could end up being utterly downed by a punch or kick. The chakra is released timely, slamming into a target and releasing the chakra was key. The attack could shatter bones, possibly leave muscles and sinew bruised and contorted. She was confident in her chakra control enough that she didn't feel particularly pressed as far as needing to perform this one, she would test it when the time came. [Wash Against the Moutnain]

Katherine grabbed her brass knuckles, letting them act as makeshift cestus as she began learning the next style she intended to: the Nigirboushi no Shintou. She struck at a sand bag, one of the heaviest she could find, and observed how each and every strike affected her hands, wrists and body. It wasn't a long process for her to learn how to mitigate the harm that was being done. Each impact, she felt herself more and more used to taking the damage that an opponent could dish out. [Impact Resistance]

The next skill was one she could really get into, as she determined by reading over it. The goal was to literally put her whole body into destroying something with a punch. It was so useful that she would likely be able to crush even more sturdy, reinforced creations with the simplicity of it. [Rejection Strike]

This style was all about causing damage to anything that she impacted with her fists. She would, that in mind, read over the next skill learning the method of punishing defenses. It both caused skills to wither a little under it's strength while also shoving successful defenders back a fair distance. Even better, it could outright knock people out of their own stances. [Recoil]

Now, she had learned a lot of skills that were intended to slam directly into an opponent. However, what she hadn't figured out was how to react if she were to miss. The next skill was the answer. It was a simple thing to continue with the momentum of a swing and redirect it as long as it wasn't a simple straight, and even then the scroll detailed, also, how to manage that eventuality as well. This meant that not hitting the first target didn't necessarily mean wasting all of the energy used in the attack. [Spinning Blow]

Next up, she learned a very odd skill. She meditated as she swung her fists in directed punches towards the weighted punching bag. She focused on how her chakra pathways were, even as abated as her network was, and something truly odd happened. This training made it so that she was always aware when someone was watching her, and apparently the academy students were subject to an even more harsh scrutiny. Now, to her irritation, she was keenly aware of just which of the yougnlings were watching her. [Focal Point]

She used Belamos as a target for the next learning, touching her hand against his broad chest without so much as a fleck of interest. She focused, eyes closing, on him as she imparted a bit of her chakra on him. When she opened her eyes again, she smirked and took a step away from him. She could, even as her eyes closed, tell he was there, even as he moved away. [Marking]

Now came the interesting part: which was using the mark. She delivered a straight blow at Belamos, who stepped back as he instructed her on how to move with him with the mark. Sure enough, with a bit of her own chakra she followed right behind him, no distance being made between the two as she shoved her fist at him, brass knuckles softly impacting his solar plexus. [Drifting]

The next skill was one she only wanted to do because she wanted to feel strong. With a second of breathing, she coiled her arm and shoved it directly at the dummy she had been training with previously. Predictably, she completely shattered it. She pulled back her fist, smirking for the first time in ages at her own strength. [Fissure.]

Back to the heavy bags she went, punching the heavy bag as many times as she could quickly. She didn't impart any chakra at first. No, at first she was just pummeling it the way she would any target unlucky enough to be caught in a melee with her. She would be attempting the Repeated Blows skill, which would deliver three quick strikes to the target, and she was doing all of hre flurries in groupings of three. The last time she did so she stopped and breathed for a second. The next time she did so, she imparted her chakra to each of her fists before swinging in. She was unable to keep all of the chakra together for the duration of the attack, but she was no where near done. No she slowed her punches, focusing on the chakra throughout the onslaught of attacks. She pulled back, exhaling deep between punches. With some finality she began accelerating to her normal speed for the punches again. If a target was hit by this attack, they would likely be more than simply pummeled, they'd have a hard time recovering. [Repeated Blows]

Coming on the last skill, she stopped to read. This skill was certainly interesting. The skill was straight forward, if nothing else. Get in, knock some heads around with armored hands. This one would make the opponent play the melee game, forcing them into a brawl, a smash 4 if you would. Chakra being formed would be outright knocked out of the techniques an opponent was trying to use. She would laugh if she could pull that off, truly, and noted how the flow of chakra would have to be formed if it were going to be that level of offensive. She didn't want to waste her endurance doing the skill if the aim was to make using non melee skills tougher. However, she committed the skill, entirely, to memory. [Heavy Blows of the Brawl]

Katherine looked to her ally after putting the scrolls away, rolling out her limbs, pain not so clear in her face. She spoke plainly. "I think we should go to the academy. I have some ninjutsu and genjutsu to learn, if you don't mind. Then I can get cracking on some missions. Also... would it be too big of a bother for you to buy me a Gourd I can turn into a hive for my kikaichu? I would appreciate it greatly. While I was in the hospital I didn't have a way to save up any money for the past couple of months... and my dads was... um... well it's gone." She took her glasses from her pocket towards the end of her requests, placing them over her eyes and then returning her hands to her pockets.

Belamos would assist Katherine with her training as necessary, but while she trained he would also work on his own improvement. Hefting his spear, he would spin it about in his hands and he worked through a series of stretches that incorporated his weapon into their practice. He was getting quite proficient with it, few in the world could challenge his mastery of the lance at this point. It was time to push the envelope even further. Belamos would go through a mock battle with a shadow opponent. He struck out like wildfire and parried imaginary attacks. He practiced alongside Katherine, sweating as he went through his own movements. Soon enough he created a powerful Ember Clone to assist him. He began sparring with it. Belamos was primarily working on adjusting the length of his stabs so that he could have the haft of the blade slide down the length of his arm as he struck. It was the better part of an hour that he worked, and by the end of it he was exhausted. His mastery had improved, however. Belamos let the weapon drop from his hand as he fell to the ground. He needed a breather.

The next thing he needed to work on would be his dodges. He was poorly trained at formal parrying and evasion techniques. He started out by performing basic wind-sprints. He ran from one side of the dojo back to the other. It didn't take long for him to realize he was already naturally fast, he just needed to work on techniques. He created another Ember Clone and got to work. They struck at each other, dodged and countered. This occurred very rapidly. Quickly his progress grew. He continued with his training, parrying any strike that came at him. He needed to master this before he continued. Parrying was his primary defensive tool with the lance, after all. First he worked on it unarmed. He quickly moved on to armed parrying. After he had that down he worked on unarmed against armed and then vice versa. It took some tremendous time, but eventually he had it down. It wasn't overly complex anyways though. After parrying he moved onto his dodges. He had to wait until the last minute to dodge when he couldn't parry. It was hard. Hys reflex was to get out of the way as soon as he could. He realized this was counter intuitive though, as the opponent could correct the strike or would otherwise recover. If he waited until the last second, he could counter. Darting through an opening was also a way to dodge. His nimbleness proved to be a great boon in this regard. He would wait until his close attempted to strike and then dart away, sometimes dipping under the strike and exposing the clones vital points a half a second later. His power was growing, and it made him happy. He still had work to do though. While he ability to redirect blows had come together in pieces, he still needed to string it all together. His speed; it was lacking. He attached ankle weights and began his usual drill exercises. The weight made him take a couple blows he otherwise would have avoided. This was...odd. No matter, he pressed on. He needed to get better. He combined parrying with dodging and was able to redirect almost all of the clones blows. Those that he could not, he skipped backwards. Eventually he became accustomed to the weight. Upon removing them, he found his speed had greatly increased. Now, with his spear proficiency, he was like a viper. He struck out with great fury and could not be touched. He was powerful indeed.

When Katherine inquired as to whether they could adjourn to the academy, and requested she be bough a gourd he nodded "Yes, we may go to the academy. As for the gourd, I know not where to procure one nor how much it costs" Belamos would leave when Katherine did, following her to the Academy should she chose to go there

Kat nodded to Belamos and turned to start walking, speaking as she did so. "Actually, come to think of it I think the onlyplace that sells what im looking to get is Takumi. It can probably wait." The realization was a sort of harrowing one, because the last time she went there was with her mom and dad. She was going to be in a sour mood for the rest of the day, it seemed. It didn't show, and as she belied her true feelings by the lack of drag in her steps and the impasse in her face she made a B line for the academy, sure that Belamos would overtake her as he did last time. Even though the narrorator was still tilted, there was work to be done. She was back to Be Water My Friends, and she started with the move intended to increase the damage she could do with a counter. By adding a spin move to a counter attack. This would add a significant bite to whatever attack she slammed into the enemy. That meant that if she spun out of the way of a kick with an artful dodge, then the opponent would end up being shattered by the force of this counterattack. She would start this training with some basic punching and kicking on the same mannequin she had faught before. As she dodged the tongs on the wodden dummy, she was sure to counter attack with as much force as she could without moving from a standing position. She would be able to easily keep up with it at this level, so she kicked it up a notch. She would strike at the dummy, then whirl her arm and slam it into the dummy. This was difficult, but not impossible as it was something she was already capable of doing on her own. With full zeal, she stopped, took a step back with a spin that avoid one attack, and brought her fist back into the mannequin. The damage was siginificantly higher than if she had just reared back and punched. She noted it was also more powerful than if she had simply added the limb rotation of the attack from Building Storm. [Cyclone]

She also did some other stuff while there: [Ten Autolearns consumed for the first Four stages of Mirror image-Cicada shell.]

Learning Cicada shell wouldn't prove too difficult. It was easier to learn ebcause she already had a grasp on how to make physical clones. This skill simply turned a solid afterimage used in the style into an actual clone. For the purposes of making, say, an insect clone, this could prove to be extremely useful. Moreover, she could learn some of the higher ranked clone ninjutsu as well and convert an image into it. The general uses were clear enough, and where some clones were concerned this stage of combat would greatly benefit from her learning to effectively use clones. [Cicada Shell]

Back to be water my friends, Katherine was purposely training with the heavy gourd on her back, which was giving her a significantly hard time moving as fast as she could. Still, it was a necessary slowdown, as she had to have the thing on her person anyway, and she wasn't slowed down reflex wise. She was using an insect clone for this training, avoiding attacks that the clone launched at full speed and trying to identify the scarce few seconds that she would have to launch an attack before hers connected. The clone had a gourd on it's back as well, and she realized that it was slower than her own reflexes. She tensed a small bit, just barely noticeable. When the next punch came from the clone, Kya stepped in and delivered a fast acting strike that countered the opponents own attack. The clone was hit, hard, and was barely able to follow through with it's own attack. As it reformed, she went back into her ready position. She narrowed her eyes, looking for another counter oppurtunity. She was fighting herself, so there was nothing easy about what was going on in that moment. She knew other, less predictable opponents would be even more punishing than this, but she managed to avoid the worst of the attacks even as her own attacks weren't able to counter the clones. Kya stepped in, delivering a straight jab that managed to floor and disperse the clone, and she observed that she could probably have added an even more powerful chakra load into her fist to send it crashing instead of sprawling. [Downpour]

Now the next skill was just the sort of nonsense that Katherine had signed up for with the mirror image style. At it'smost impressive she'd be lost in a whirl of after images all circling an opponent at different intergvals. She started off by moving in a quick burst and leaving an after image behind. She practiced this easy motion until she felt it was arbitray. She would then stay in motion, having a different clone branch off and continue running in the same path behind her. The chakra in her body made these movements much easier for her to do. Soon she was changing directions as she ran. Her body kept releasing after images, all moving at the same speed around her. With all sorts of things going on, she herself was getting motion sickness watching. Still, she continued moving and releasing images, watching how long it took them to fade. About 8 was how many she could manage at once. She knew this would be the sort of thing that slowed an opponents ability to respond. She slowed ehrself, watching her clones as they fizzled. As she caught her breath sjhe didnt even smirk. [False Cyclone.]

The next skill was incredibly study based. She began by studying how clone techniques worked once again. Usually, a person used chakra, molding it in such a way that it created a being itself. Of course, it was only an imitation, whatever the vector used is only acting. Shadow clones were pure chakra, and they worked different. Aburame insect clones were made of Kikaichu, and as such a whole lot different from those. However, these were different still from the chakra that copied muscle movements and created afterimages, or even ones that could act with a single directive like running in circles. If she wanted to create more, she had to go to the core. She had to really understand how to create an after image, and to that end she was no slouch in the slightest. She was fast on the upkeep, learning the things needed rather quickly. The studying part was enver a real strong suit of Katherines, but sometimes it was necessary. From here, however, she could create loads more afterimages.

Chigiri and Kuro arrive at the Dojo after healing up and waiting at the hospital for nobody to show up. The whole thing left them feeling slightly put out. Teamwork was only really a thing the two had really felt much of. Chigiri let out a sigh and began to get to work as letting time waste was a sin she would not be subject to commit. "I'll find those two later..right now..This is all about me.", she said as she worked on the deflection technique, cushioning her blade with chakra so she could block off attacks, like Belamos' so-called sun next time.

[X-Rank : Deflection 1 Post - Learned]

After practicing with the Deflection technique, she moved into working with the Forward Grind. The practice took place against a training dummy equipped with a wooden practice sword. Then rushing against it, she placed her blade against the edge and slid up the length to the pommel. This technique would lock a weapon up, making it harder to use, and keeping her close in range. It would be perfect to employ against Belamos. "I cannot help but feeling like I'm preparing to fight him again... but for real.", she grumbled as Chigiri stepped back and prepared for the next part of her training.

Kuro simply sat on her haunches and watched curiously. Though when Chigiri spoke about possibly fighting Belamos on a higher level, more than just a helpless genin flailing against her master, the rabbit shuddered. The prospect of fighting the flames again did not appeal to her, but she knew in her bunny heart, that it would likely have to happen in order for her to develop as a true partner to her mistress.

[X-Rank Forward Grind - 1 Post]

Chigiri then began her practice with the Pivot Block technique, shifting her leg to the side and blocking the stationary blade of her stalwart, wooden, training partner as her blade crossed to the side. It was going to be an interesting ability to employ in a battle. It was not really something she could be specifically useful against Belamos, but in the end, she was not training entirely just for his benefit. This was more about becoming stronger for the tests to come.

[X-Rank : Pivot Block - 1 Post]

The next level of this style seemed to include a lot more intensive techniques as Chigiri followed the instructions from the training manual she had been provided with. The next ability was Calligraphy, and it involved speeding up her attacks to make them harder to dodge at the cost of damaging power. "Seem's like a fair trade.", she remarked as she studied the technique and considered it's uses. The death of her enemies was all that mattered at this point.

[C-Rank : Calligraphy - 1 Post]

Extension...This technique made her loft an eyebrow as she had a technique at hand that did something almost exactly the same as the Samurai Sabre technique. As she read over the effects of the jutsu and it's performance, she could not help but feel that actual practice would be arbitrary, and that a good dose of book-reading would be decent enough. "Seems sort of pointless, but okay...", she muttered as she moved on to her next assignment in the style of the Moment of Steel.

[C-Rank : Extension - 1 Post]

The next ability was the Solid Footing technique. Focusing herself to withstand attempts to move her would be an excellent asset to her skills, a method she studied carefully as a result of this realization. "So...chakra to my feet. Sounds like a technique or two I need to brush up on later.", she remarked casually as Chigiri continued to analyze the methods behind the ability. Again, book-reading seemed like the best route to take for now. Getting stronger meant more than just actually slicing and physical prowess, but complete understanding.

[C-Rank : Solid Footing - 1 Post]

The attack of the solid footing would be followed up with the twin blade technique. This was actually something that Chigiri decided to stand up for and practice. Her blade in hand, she manifested chakra around it's edge as she swung down, causing another blade of chakra to follow up behind it, causing the dummy to sway underneath the weight of the assault. "Excellent...This should throw off my opposition.", she said with a slight smirk.

[C-Rank : Chakra Blade - 1 Post]

The next and last ability of this stage was perfect, considering her team-mate's ability to utilize threads as it would allow her to walk along them in order to take her fights to the air and all around. It would certainly be like a tight-rope fight if she could employ wires herself. "Intriguing...", she chuckled softly as she considered the method for moving along wires while swinging a blade. The idea presented an opportunity for some team-work that could not have been pulled off before.

Chigiri continued her training in the Hagane no Shunkan by studying the methods of the scroll in the Dojo to conserve energy and simply because she had a competent grasp on the style at this point. The technique next was the Advance of Steel, which made it so she could hone her muscles to increase her speed and power for a short period of time. This was going to be a specific increase to her potent skills as she worked on improving herself. "Sit tight, Kuro. We're gonna work on your skills next.", she said as continued working on understanding her own style.

[B-Rank : Advance of Steel - 1 Post; Learned]

The next skill in the scroll was Brush Stroke, which seemed to build off of Calligraphy in the fact that it was used to boost the potency of her simple skills, but at the cost of not being able to utilize any complex attacks like Twin Blade. Chigiri could not help but find some appreciation for this technique as it would allow her to reach a level she wouldn't normally be able to.

[B-Rank : Brush Stroke : 2 Posts [Using 1 Free training post] ; Learned]

The third technique in this series was arguably very simple. Chigiri had to grin at the Disarm technique and how it would be utilized against those who tried to go toe to toe with her in her home field of Bukijutsu. Their greatest asset would be their greatest liability. "Don't worry, Sensei...I'm going to have something for that precious spear of yours next time we fight.", she muttered to herself as Chigiri gained an understanding of the technique and how to disarm various weapons from their wielders.

[B-Rank : Disarming : 1 Post ; Learned]

The fourth technique on the list was another improvement of an existing skill she already had. Chigiri studied intently the Hydra Strike as she understood that the ability to take the Twin Blade and multiply it into various attacks was going to require a lot of chakra and some timing in order to pull off, but potentially unleashing seven attacks in the time it takes to unleash one. It was certainly a complex attack. It would likely require some time to master, but for now, it served as an improvement beyond the normal Twin Blade.

[B-Rank : Hydra Strike : 2 Posts [Using 1 Free Training Post]; Learned]

The fifth technique in this study of the Hagane no Shunkan was the Illusory Double technique which allowed the user to make two strikes so fast that it would normally be impossible to follow up on the second strike. It was a valuable skill, Chigiri felt, as she knew that Belamos was fast, and if he was as fast as he was, that it was not a unique trait to him...There were likely to be many foes that this technique would be usable on to thwart. "I'm starting to think that I'm built for speed, and less for comfort, eh, Kuro?", she chuckled at the rabbit. The black bunny, who was grooming herself idly, simply looked up and nodded and went back to maintenance.

[B-Rank : Illusory Double : 2 Posts [Using 1 Free Training Post]; Learned]

The final technique in this stage of the Hagane no Shunkan was arguably simple to understand for Chigiri. Swordslinging, or the art of switching between blades rapidly was an interesting concept, not something likely to be utilized, but the idea behind it was rather quite simple. It only really required multiple weapons and the speed and finesse to switch between them for various reasons, either rapid attacks, or just to keep an enemy on their toes if either sword possessed unique qualities. With this completed in it's understanding, Chigiri simply shrugged and returned the scroll to a shelf from were it came as there was no further use for it for now. She would need to hone herself if she were to progress further in this particular form.

It was time to start training in Taijutsu now for Chigiri, the other side of the physical arts that she focused in. Kick-Boxing was a perfect complimentary art for staying in shape as it focused on elements that her rabbit like tendencies could get behind...hopping and kicking, and maybe even a punch here and there.

The first technique in the style she decided to pick up was a feinting jab. Chigiri studied the concept of throwing a fist out and retracting before throwing a heavy blow to a vital spot, like the gut or the chin to clobber them silly. "Seem's like fun...", she remarked as the raven haired kunoichi took her place before a training dummy and sent her fist out, lashing quickly as she retracted the initial punch just inches before the dummy before slamming a heavy blow to the wooden training instrument. The punch rattled it silly, and caused Kuro to perk her ears up and watch intently. It seemed like the little bunny was getting some ideas of her own.

[Resu Tame Taibu - Rank E [Simple] - 1 Post ]
[Mission : D-Rank: Learn a Jutsu: Complete 1/3]

Rosutoai, a chakra infused jab that could cut and bruise. Chigiri seemed to tilt her head slightly at the concept as she read it over. It seemed simple, but required timing to pull off. This would come in handy if she were ever disarmed, gods forbid, from her trusty Katana. Turning from the scroll, she then walked back over to the training dummy. With her fist clenched, Chigiri charged up chakra into the limb with murderous intent. The energy then moved into her knuckles as she struck, and there were splinters from the impact as the wood actually cracked a little.

[Rosutoai - Rank E [Complex] - 1 Post]
[Mission : D-Rank: Learn a Jutsu: Complete 2/3]

Chigiri was feeling pretty confident in herself as she practiced the kick-boxing style. This confidence did not diminish when it came to the stance. Following the diagram in the scroll, the raven haired girl raised her fists and began to bounce back and forth on the balls of her heels. It felt pretty similar to the rabbit hopping method of movement she did normally, and thus it was not difficult to keep up the Juuryou no Yorokobi. "Yeah, Kuro-bun. I think I like this style already.", she said with a grin to her companion who nodded and seemed to try to mimic her, standing on her hind legs with her front paws out in the territorial stance rabbits assumed normally when about to box the s**t out of another infiltrating rabbit on their turf.

[Juuryou no Yorokobi - Rank D [Simple] - 1 Post; Use 1 Free Training Post]
[Mission : D-Rank: Learn a Jutsu; Complete 3/3]

The next technique in the list was something that followed up on the stance, and she could pull it off while wielding her sword as it used the legs. It could be mixed in with her routine to keep her opponent on their toes. She then wheeled around from the stance and sent a kick lashing passed the 'head' of the training dummy before hooking it by the head as she went full circle. The dummy flew off it's post and slammed against the ground, forcing her to stop and pick it back up.

Chigiri had grown tired of training and thus sat down to rest for a moment to gather her strength for her upcoming patrol and guard missions so she could keep track of the Village and gather intelligence on UHV troop movements and stations while keeping the general populace safe from harm. "Kuro-bun, prepare yourself for either a load of boredom or a load of action.", she said with a bit of a yawn as she stretched and meditated a little bit, expanding her chakra and knowledge of how it flowed and gathered while she brought herself to full.

[D-Rank Training Mission: Meditate - 1/4 Posts]
[Resting - Out of Combat: 70 Stam/Chakra recovered]

While meditating and working on her chakra flow, Chigiri began to breathe in and out rhythmically, gathering her strength and sighing softly. There was not an entirely large amount of thought behind what she had planned, other than the fact that she was trying to expand how much her reserves could withstand from a content aspect. The more resources she had to work with, the longer she could put up a fight. That was the goal of this training effort.

[D-Rank Training Mission: Meditate - 2/4 Posts]

As the exercise continued Chigiri thought about her own lack of ability to take down Belamos, or even succeed by her own volition. It was all a matter of difference in skill.. a difference she would either have to overcome personally, or outsmart and put him down in another method. The student would become greater than the master. The training effort was all in a way to try and achieve that goal.

[D-Rank Training Mission : Meditate - 3/4 Posts]

"Breathe in and out...almost there.", Chigiri muttered as she brought herself to her center. Getting a handle on this training method to give her a slight boost to her stamina so she could fight harder and longer if a situation demanded that. There was no way she was going to remain weak like her squad-mates. She had ambition, dreams, desires...and nobody was going to hold her back, even if she had to shoulder the weight and carry them to victory...The meditation training was in an effort to give her more of a load strength to lift with, per say.

[D-Rank Training Mission : Meditate - 4/4 Posts; Completed x1/2]

Then reaching another point her her effort to get stronger, Chigiri continued to develop herself with more wisdom and knowledge by pushing her meditations and respiration training further by moving her chakra slowly through her body in a circular motion, manipulating it to various parts of her like an ebb and flow of a tidal current. This effort was going to pay off, the bukijutsu flavored tamer had a strong feeling of such.

[D-Rank Training Mission : Meditate - 1/4 Posts]

The exercise was time consuming for Chigiri, and arguably, the most boring undertaking she had done since achieving the rank of Genin and being thrust into the ranks of the UHV. Belamos's assignment concerning the flag wasn't much more of a contest for the meditations. Chakra and life energy were an essential place of herself in this world ruled by the spiritual energy and ability to fight. The flowing motions of her chakra were getting easier to handle...slowly.

[D-Rank Training Mission : Meditate - 2/4 Posts]

The exercise continued for Chigiri for a few more moments as she fixated on the manipulation and focusing of her chakra during her meditations, despite how arbitrary this was. Anger and rage were fuel to her fire that motivated her to press on with this focused style of growth and manipulation of her body's reserves. Kuro-bun simply watched and cleaned her fur as Chigiri meditated. As far as the animal was concerned, this was all part of the necessary work that needed to be done before they could do the fun things that this life had to offer.

[D-Rank Training Mission : Meditate - 3/4 Posts]

Finally there was a surge of power within Chigiri as she felt the training paying off. It was as if she felt more alive, if that were possible. There was nothing that could equate to the sense of gratification the raven haired girl felt once she had completed the meditation training that she had to undergo. The energy was impressive...still meager compared to somebody of a higher rank, but for a Genin, this felt good...She would have to revisit this type of training again another time for sure.

[D-Rank Training Mission : Meditate - 4/4 Posts - Complete x2/2]

With that all finished, Chigiri and Kuro left to go start guarding and patrolling the Village, all under the guise of keeping it safe from trouble while gathering that juicy intelligence to use later on if needed.

Moving along to the Dojo, the two finally reached a familiar place were they had been training not too long ago in the recent history. It was a relatively safe place to be if one were looking to avoid trouble, given the people who practiced and trained in the halls of this place. "Well, pretty good to see old sights, but we're almost done. Don't worry. We'll eat once we get to the Academy.", she said with a nod to her rabbit who's tummy was making rumbling sounds. It was a good set of memories here, but no use dwelling on them as time was wasting and there wasn't a lot of it available to make preparations under. She needed to get stronger and prove herself to Belamos so the others she had sparred him with over the flag prior would look less impressive by comparison.
