The first thing seen from the docks, and the most noticeable, would have to be the large training field that exists in the foremost front of the Village. This field is large enough to sustain large scale battles and spars, as well as lessons on ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu, or anything of the sort. The field itself is almost half the size of the actual Village, due to the amount of vegetation that has been physically cleared for it. An enormous tree rises in the middle of the field, massive in height and width with millions of white/green leaves that barely stir in the strongest of wind. Its unclear where this massive tree arose from, appearing seemingly over night.

The crackle of compacting snow sounded from under Shigeru's feet. The air was cool like it always was. The winds that carried over from the mountains that backed Yukigakure, swept the snowy field. Shigeru stopped near the center of the field that sat in front of the village and took a deep breath. The clean and refreshing air would soon turn into a bitter miasma once Shigeru began to do what he was there to do.
Shigeru's expression became determined. He spread his feet apart and placed his arms close to his torso. Closing his eyes, he concentrated. Shigeru visualized the chakra network pulsing with chakra within his body. [Gate of Opening 1/5]
Shigeru imagined the gate set within his brain. He began to send chakra to that point. It was a subtle action, steadily pushing the chakra to his brain. The wind that surrounded Shigeru was caught in his coat, shaking it's bottom. [Gate of Opening 2/5]
More and more chakra rushed to the brain now. Shigeru was now gathering it to the left side of the brain. There was a specific place where the gate sat within the brain. Shigeru had to concentrate much more now that he was keeping more chakra in one place. [Gate of Opening 3/5]
Now, Shigeru had to keep hold of his chakra and force open the gate. It seemed that he did not have enough to open the Gate and needed just a bit more. Keeping his gathered chakra on the Gate, Shigeru summoned more from his other ones. He could feel the tension build. [Gate of Opening 4/5]
Shigeru's breathing was deeper now as he attempted to gather the chakra into a pinpoint. The wind began to swirl around his head. His fair hair waved like blades of grass. With a grunt, Shigeru gave a good effort to push the pinpointed chakra against the gate. It gave way and opened like a floodgate, letting out great amount of chakra. The wind that swirled around Shigeru's head was then sent away in the form of a circlet. [Gate of Opening 5/5]
Shigeru could feel his body pulsing with strength and speed. His chakra network was flowing with excessive chakra. Shigeru quickly shifted from his upright position to a starting handstand. He retracted his legs before kicking upwards with both legs at the air above him. [Front Lotus 1/6]
After performing the kick, Shigeru quickly got to his feet in a crouched position, utilizing his newfound speed. Shigeru jumped up into the air, following his invisible target. He rotated in the air into an upside down position. Upside down, Shigeru opened up his coat slightly, revealing bandages that were wrapped around Shigeru's torso. He undid them and tried to wrap them around his invisible target. When he did, he saw that he was already to close to the ground and hesitated, placing his hands under him to stop his fall. Once his hands touched the floor, Shigeru quickly righted himself like a spring, returning to a standing position. [Front Lotus 2/6]
Shigeru did not give up. He wrapped the bandages around himself again. Shigeru then readied himself. He crouched again and entered a handstand. Shigeru then springed upwards with his kick, this time adding more force. [Front Lotus 3/6]
Shigeru wasted no time launching up to follow his target. He rotated much faster this time, into an up-side down position. Shigeru unleashed his bandages and wrapped them in front of him. He looked down to see that he was still high up and had time. [Front Lotus 4/6]
All felt right as Shigeru held his sides instead of his opponent. He began to spin at a violent rate. Strangely, it was a thrilling feeling that filled Shigeru as he meteored down to Earth. [Front Lotus 5/6]
Before Shigeru reached the ground, he slowly stopped turning and shifted. He was upright and coming down at a high speed. Shigeru crashed to the ground on both his feet, sending snow away. Shigeru was crouched, above tundra, cleared of snow. He slowly stood, his body slightly twitching. Shigeru's nerves were firing off all over. It felt like an electric current was sent through him. The Gate of Opening had closed. [Front Lotus 6/6]

Shigeru began to calm himself. He knew that if he wanted to continue training in the ways of the Hachimon, he would have to have medics standing by. Seeing that there was no one he could speak to, he decided to switch to less traumatic training. Shigeru sat down and crossed his legs. He closed his eyes, trying to ignore the twitching all over his body. [Bhastrika 1/6]
Shigeru began to breathe deeply. He relaxed his muscles and concentrated solely on his breathing. The cool air filled Shigeru's lungs and was sharp. All was silent around Shigeru except for the strange echo of the wind across the snow field. [Bhastrika 2/6]
Inhale, exhale. Shigeru had to focus on the lengths of his breathing. He had to keep each breath at equal length. If one was longer or shorter than the other, the technique would not function properly. [Bhastrika 3/6]
Shigeru used a technique to keep his breathing equal. He counted to four every time in order to keep measure. Now that he had his breath lengths parallel, he had to lengthen them. Shigeru began to breathe deeper, going from four counts to six then to ten. Soon, Shigeru's heartbeat began to slow and he felt suddenly colder. [Bhastrika 4/6]
It became very difficult to raise the breath counts now. Shigeru was now up to thirty counts per breath. He felt as if he was beginning to suffocate. His lungs were screaming for air but Shigeru's will was strong. Soon, Shigeru began to feel light headed and a bit dizzy. He opened his eyes without losing concentration on his breathing. [Bhastrika 5/6]
The small space of snow covered ground that Shigeru had his eyes set on, began to lose it's radiance. It was as if a dark cloud had blocked the sun and kept the light of the sun from reaching the ground. The white snow began to turn gray. The world around Shigeru spun but he kept his focus. Suddenly, there was the feeling of falling. Shigeru was plunged into darkness. Without warning, the image of the snow field came into focus once again. Shigeru had returned to the conscious world, glad of his accomplishment. [Bhastrika 6/6]
Shigeru stood from the snowy ground and dusted his coat of the snow that had caught on. He was ready to begin training on one of the techniques from his Kekkei Genkai. Shigeru looked around to see if anyone was there to see him. Shige had always been told to keep his abilities hidden. He liked his gift and was proud of it but he knew that the Jounin were right. Shigeru removed his blue coat, revealing the bandages that were wrapped his tight undershirt torso. Shigeru then placed his hands together in a neutral position and began to focus his chakra. [Wood Release: Great Forest Technique 1/5]
Shigeru performed the four hand seals required to use the technique. After the hand signs, Shige extended his right arm. At first, Shigeru concentrated on the arm. His skin began to turn brown as solid wooden beams slowly grew out of his forearm and palm. It felt as if his reach was extending. [Wood Release: Great Forest Technique 2/5]
After a few moments, Shigeru began to pour more chakra into his arm, accelerating the grow and forcing more wooden beams out of his arm. This time, more appeared up the arm. Although heavy, Shige could easily move the arm around. This pleased Shigeru. An arm with such a reach would surely come in handy. [Wood Release: Great Forest Technique 3/5]
Now that Shigeru had gotten used to the growth of the branches, he began to manipulate their shape. From rectangular wooden beams, to lengthened stakes. The skin on Shigeru's arm was no longer visible. All that was there were five, individual tree arms that extended from Shige's shoulder. He sharpened them and began to quickly retract and extend them. If there was a target before his arm, it would be skewered by the wooden spears. [Wood Release: Great Forest Technique 4/5]
After getting used to control each beam individually, Shigeru decided to finish with a simple experiment. Shigeru focused on his arm. The sharpened branches then joined, each beside the next. Shigeru then forced the beams closer until they joined into one. He smiled at his success and waved his arm around a bit, scratching the snowy ground with the large beam. Shigeru then sharpened the beam into one large lance-like branch and jammed it into the ground. The branch entered the cold ground with all it's girth. Suddenly, Shigeru retracted the branch until it was all absorbed into his arm, leaving him to examine it with glee. [Wood Release: Great Forest Technique 5/5]

Understatement. That was the first thing that came to Jae's mind as she stood before the less private of the training facilities Snow village had to offer. It was a vast area, with an expansive span to it. Staring out across the way, the girl narrowed her eyes a little bit. There were people chatting, or so she assumed, not to far from where she stood dumbstruck. Curiosity peeked at the sight of both of them but a pair of voices seemed to haunt her conscious. She wanted nothing more than to go over and shoot the shiz but she couldn't. It was a 'waste of time' and if the girl wanted her freedom from being kept indoors all day, she had to produce a quota of drawings every day just to be able to get up and go where she pleased.
Her breath came out in little huffs, the frigid air contrasting the warmth of her breath. Pulling her scarf up and over her nose, the stringy red head picked a side angle and began to sketch the two people who held her curiosity. She had been looking for inatimate objects to doodle but she felt inspired to draw them at that particular moment. Even from this distance she could see every detail about them, from the stitching in their clothing to the areas that were chapped from the frosts bite. The young teen squatted then, curling in on herself in order to offer her knees as a proper stool to keep her sketch pad from tilting to the side. Despite the cold the girl was wearing a dress, one that passed her knees. Her little ballerina shoes were most inadequate for the climate but it was something the girl had grown accustomed to. The shorts she wore under the wool dress kept her warm enough, aside from her jacket, scarf and thick mane of hair. Eyes glued to her work in progress, Jae no longer needed to look up to stare at the two men. Well, man and boy. Their faces were burned into her mind now, whether she liked it or not.
