Beppe didn't really get it, where was Franco? gonk he did his job and got "zitellona" and ol' Gio up 'dere but now they've already gone back. stressed Working for Franco is absolutely exhausting, I mean you need to be available 24/7 but there is no telling where the hell the Don is! You need to be a damn miracle worker to please him just rights, and yet Franco's biggest superstizione is just that!
He waits at the car for Gattina, once she hops in he follows behind, in a traditional "body guard" style - although Beppe is not a very intimidating man at all. sweatdrop Gattina could probably take him in 5 seconds flat. stressed At least he had a few things going for him:
* He got back Franco's American Express Card .... with lord only knows what kind of balance on it.... * He still is keeping Gattina happy... for now. He needs to keep his cool and gain her trust, if she's on his side maybe Franco will take it easy on him. Mob wives can be very influential emotion_awesome
Striking up a fumbled and awkward conversation with Katana, Beppe comments on the absolute beauty of all the classic painting Franco had once had up in the MW quarter of red haired women, recalling the prints from when he was trapped in the vault. stressed He was doing his best to both appeal to her sense of class and culture while still flattering her. Old trick Franco taught him . Once he brings that up Katana laughs for a long time about that one, recalling just WHY all those paintings were of red haired women. She tells Beppe all about their trip through France at that time and brings up this very peculiar story about this woman she encountered in the Basque region there.
She just kept chasing after us, yelling "Koneko" after me, it was really very odd. She had this basket full of fruits so Franco finally bought a peach from her and she cackled and walk off... I think both Frakie boy and I were freaked out at that loon. Then he took me to this basement wine shop up some alley he demanded we had to find. rolleyes Their stuff wasn't even that good. I swear that man has the oddest interests at time, everyone in that region was nuts.
Beppe nods to show interest, intrigue and understanding - a tip he learned from Franco . He starts combing through the information in his mind to try and find a way to keep her interest going Koneko.. Koneko... I wonder why Koneko... 子猫.... Kitten... in Japanese... Gattina in Italian, it's her code name! Beppe grows pale again and his eyes go over her tattoos... those distictly Japanese symbols of power and rank... she's a fire haired Japanese mob princess. That crazy woman must have known! I bet she was trying to pay her homage with her goods! He swallows hard and sits more still than normal, trying to take this all in. Now it made sense about when she came to Vegas last and flipped out and vanished to Tokyo... He pulls out a handkerchief and dabs some sweat from his brow. sweatdrop

((from earlier this afternoon.....))
She told Beppe she only wanted to go shoe shopping, and he breathed a sigh of relief. Shoe shopping should be that bad, could it? sweatdrop
Boy, was he wrong....he never knew there were so many shoe shops in Vegas. eek Nor did he understand how two really similar looking pairs of shoes could be so different. rolleyes He actually dozed off in the chair while Kat...aka "Koneko" tried on pair after pair after pair of shoes.
She finally decided on two pair of shoes, a red pair and a black pair. She grinned at him and told him she was ready to go and they proceeded up to the cashier. Beppe pulled out the card Psy had returned to him, ready to take care of the Don's wife and was confused when the cashier looked at him as if he was crazy.
Sir, this is not funny at all. I certainly hope you have another form of payment. emotion_eyebrow
Beppe looked at the cashier and then back down at the card. It was one of those fake credit cards that you get in the mail trying to tempt you into getting one. stressed That must mean that Psy still had Franco's card!
"Heh...heh...yeah...um....yeah. Let me get my other card out for you......" He pulled out his own card and grimaced when he saw the total. That much for TWO pair of shoes? gonk He was secretly glad that his card wasn't declined and steered Kat out of the Prada store as quickly as he could, telling her that "no, they can't go out for lunch" because he needed to get back to the hotel. sweatdrop
Kat frowned and wondered what the big rush was, but shrugged it off, Beppe was an odd duck after all. Soon they were back at the Bellagio and in the penthouse, where she took off to find outfits to match her new shoes.

There was a knock at the penthouse door and Beppe went to answer it. A hotel employee handed him a gold wrapped box with a card in a small red envelope and told him it was for Ms. Katana. Confused, Beppe tipped the man and carried the box out to the balcony where Kat was sitting and enjoying the desert sunset.
"Um..pardon me, Mrs.....Kat. stressed But this was just delivered for you. sweatdrop " He was as curious as she looked, and she set her lit clove in the nearby ashtray to open the box.
She grinned when she saw the contents and then opened the card. Chuckling, she pulled out a dark chocolate truffle and unwrapped it. She held up the delicious morsel for Beppe to see.
"Aww, isn't Frankie boy so sweet sometimes? heart These are my absolute faves from Godiva." She popped it into her mouth and savored the taste of the truffle. She pulled another one out of the box and gave Beppe a sultry grin as she crossed one leg over the other, her skirt falling away to reveal more of her dragon tattooed legs.
"Want a piece? " She giggled when he eyed her legs and then went beet red before stammering something and going back inside the penthouse. She chuckled and ate the truffle, and then closed the box back. He was way to easy, she thought. She really shouldn't tease the poor man, but how else was he going to learn? lol

Ready to go out for the evening, she went back inside and found Beppe on the couch. She moved to stand in front of him, blocking his view of the TV.
"Get up, you're going with me tonight." She crossed her arms under her bosom and grinned at him, which made him immediately blush red again.
sweatdrop Um....sure? Where did you want to go?" He tried to keep his eyes on her face, and not on her scantily clad body. What if one of the fellas came out and saw him gawking at the Don's wife? gonk
"We're going to go check out that party at the new nightclub. I think it's called The Fetish Ball or something...sounds like fun though. So, get up and come on. wink "
He swallowed and groanded inwardly, but got up. His job was to entertain her, and he sighed as he offered her his arm. She grinned at him, and patted him on the arm.
"I'll watch out for you, Beppe, don't worry. lol " She giggled as they left the penthouse.

(( This retro-post is a continuation of Thursday night, after Trina and Will's discussion. ))
*During the ride to his house, his mind is awhirl with thoughts. Now second guessing himself, he just cannot believe that he just walked out on her, -again-! stressed This is exactly the -last- thing that he wanted to do, and unfortunately he fell right back into the same old rut again. ...Damn it!! Why didn't you just -stay- and hold your ground!! scream ...You're -supposed- to be manning up, -not- whimping out!! ...You fool!! You've just given that a*****e Giovanni the leverage he needed!! scream ...You'll -never- win her back this way!! He was so distracted with his thoughts that at one point he almost took a spill, but managed to keep the bike upright and moving down the road. sweatdrop
Before reaching his house, he made a stop at the neighborhood grocery store and picked up a few staples. Pulling his bike into the garage, he heads inside with his bags and puts away a few things, then goes around the house and pulls all the dust covers off from the furniture. Grabbing the new bottle of whiskey and a rocks glass, he heads into the living room and takes a seat in the wingback chair, then purs himself a double shot and slams it back.
Reflecting on their earlier discussion, he recalls her story of growing up with Giovanni. It's a natural part of growing up to become infatuated with someone you know. And he can understand how Trina's dad would be so protective of his only daughter, and to even take a shine to an aspiring young man like Giovanni, then groom him in the ways of The Family business. But what he doesn't get is how or even -why- her father could make such an arrangement for his only daughter's hand in marriage without even -discussing- it with her first! And then over 2 decades pass before Trina's even made aware of such an arrangement. ...That arrangement was made a -lifetime- ago! ...How could they keep it from her for so long?! ...Do they -expect- her to follow through with this arrangement?! ... This is -insane-!! gonk He can't help but wonder exactly when she found this out, and why she didn't inform him of this sooner. confused
He pours himself another double and slams it back. He's been very well aware of Gio's intentions of taking his wife away for about a year now, and that Trina has known this as well. And then there's those damned bribes that Gio was offering him, and he was totally floored when Trina's responses to those were that they were merely petty offerings in her regard. Chances are that all of this just made her tune in to Gio's -false- charms more than ever. stare But what she apparently can't see, or even refuses to see, is the jerk's true nature of being a controlling and manipuative, cold-blooded killer. But then again, maybe that's what attracts her to him. confused From what he's learned through PD records, and from what he's observed, this is -exactly- what The Family seeks out in their members. Will does not fit into this category whatsoever, and most especially since he wears that damned badge. Even with Trina's urgings, he never has been, nor will he -ever- will be welcomed into that family of hers. He's just not their kind of people, and it's rather obvious that he's been fighting this loosing battle for too long. He just doesn't belong within the atmosphere of that household. neutral
Pouring another double, he slams it back quickly, then pours another and slams that one back as well. He just cannot believe what Trina had said about her becoming comfortable without him there. He had been abducted from the family he had been trying to help protect, taken right out from under their noses! He had been bound, blindfolded and gagged, and was dealing with side effects of a concussion. He had been strapped to a chair, and then strapped down to a bed, for who knows how many days! For -weeks- he was not allowed to see the light of day, nor was he able to move about further than the confines of the room they had kept him in, all due to the bondage contraption they had him in. For -weeks- he had to put up with his captors' attitudes, cultural rantings and beliefs, and Erin's obsessive need to know more of his family and what he was going to do about them. The whole time he was held captive, all he could think about was returning back to his wife and family. Pfft stare ...alotta' good tha' did ya. talk2hand While ya were pining for ya wife, she went an got use'ta bein' without ya. An' then she went an' cozied up ta Gio in 'ya place! mad It's almost as if his worst nightmare has come to life! gonk
Will goes to pour another and the whiskey spills as he does so. Fumbling with the cap a bit, he reseals the bottle, then slams back his last. ...'Ya -failed- yer wife, an 'ya -failed- ta' find yer balls! ...It's time fer 'ya ta' do sumthin' about it, -now- b'fore it's too late!! scream Taking in a deep breath and then releasing it, he rises from his chair and makes his way to the bathroom to relieve himself, then stumbles onto the bed fully clothed and passes out.*
(( Friday ... ))
*In the morning, Will wakes up with a killer headache stressed and goes to find some pain relievers. Popping a couple of pills, he swallows them down with a full glass of water, then fixes a pot of coffee and puts a couple of slices of bread into the toaster. Sitting at the table in the dining area, he starts making a list of things to do around the house, and what supplies he might need. His first projects entail babyproofing the house and readying one of the spare bedrooms for the twins. After making several phone calls, he pulls his bike out of the garage and heads into the business district to get the things he'll need and make arrangements to have everything else delivered.
Once back at the house, he dives into cleaning -everything-, and then babyproofing all that is needed, to include installing a babygate at the top of the basement steps, cabinet latches on lower kitchen and bathroom cupboards, and covers on all the outlets. Some items, like the paint he ordered for their room, will be delivered tomorrow morning and then he can start painting right away. The furniture he ordered for their bedroom won't be delivered until Monday, so by then the paint will have dried completely and the room aired out.
Later in the afternoon, he pulls out his smartphone and scrolls for the app to the flower shop in upper GGG. He then proceeds to order a very nice bouquet of blue roses and white lillies for his wife, and a 1/2 dozen long stemmed red roses for his mother-in-law, both to be delivered to the estate in time for Mother's Day.*
Inscription on the card included with flowers for Pietrina Pavani-Dougherty In the garden by the bench, you will find a personalized flagstone that the children and I made for you. Happy Mother's Day Love, William
Inscription on the card included with flowers for Palmira Pavani Happy Mother's Day Love, William
*After confirming the flower orders, he can't help but feel saddened that he won't be there to see them receiving his gifts. sad Breathing out a heavy sigh, he then sets his sights on readying the children's bedroom to be painted tomorrow. By the time night settles in, he fixes himself a late dinner, then relaxes for awhile until he retires for the evening.*

*His weekend was spent painting the children's room, and doing odd chores around the house and garage. All was done in an effort to keep himself so busy that he wouldn't dwell on the facts of recent events. So much for that, because that's -all- he could think about ...that he walked out on her -again- stressed and wasn't there for her on Mother's Day. This is probably the -biggest- mistake he's made during the course of their relationship. Unfortunately, this has been a reoccurring theme for him to run away from relationship problems instead of facing them head on. stressed ...But that's just it! I -had- been trying to make things better between us! She couldn't even -acknowledge- most of my efforts, and in short, left it up to -me- to try and fix everything! gonk One alone cannot fix all that might go wrong in any given relationship. -Both- partners need to work -together- in order to make things work for the both them. ...Doesn't she even -care- anymore?
He told her that he loved her, but she couldn't even bring herself to say she still loved him ...all she could say was that she now loves Giovanni ...that contriving sonofabitch. evil He tries to remember the last time he heard her say those 3 little words to him, and it seems like it's been -months-. ...This is not fair. The deep love he carries in his heart for her now appears to be one-sided ...the love they once had for one another has diminished as that b*****d Giovanni takes advantage of their problems and moves in on her vulnerabilities. You can love someone with all of your heart, but if all they see is someone else, then you need to learn to let go. He thinks about a phrase he once heard long ago ...If you love someone, let them go. If they return, they were always yours. If they don't, it was never meant to be. He's going to -have- to let go and only hope for the best.
***************
Today, the furniture for the twins' bedroom arrived. Preparing ahead, he had ordered cribs made with solid oak that could easily be converted into toddler beds. He also ordered a dresser that could double as a changing table, and a bench seat toy chest, both also made with solid oak. After assembling everything and making sure all the connections were secure, he arranges the room to his liking, then steps back to admire his handiwork. Upon looking about their freshly painted and newly furnished bedroom, it looks rather plain ...very simply furnished when compared to their nursery back at the big house. neutral But for now, this will just have to do to help cover their basic needs. With his mind on the twins and missing them dearly, he can't believe it's only been 4 days since he last saw them. Now he'll need to contact his wife to arrange for a visit, and makes plans to do that tomorrow. This will also give him opportunity to talk with her more and hopefully clear up a few things. neutral
Going into the kitchen, he fixes himself a bite to eat and grabs a cup of coffee, then sits down at the dining table with his laptop. With wanting to order something to hang on their bare walls, get some extra linens and perhaps a few new toys for the twins, he takes a moment to check his finances first. When he tries to get into his personal checking and savings accounts, he finds them locked up and not able to access them. ...What the hell? confused He tries again and again, to no avail. stressed Upon calling the 800 number to his financial institution, he's given the run around and is eventually told that he will have to go in and talk with the manager. stressed Sitting back and thinking about it, he has a pretty good idea what happened here. Even though these are -his- personal accounts, he had Trina's name put on them when they got married. And at this point, he's -positive- that Tony's had his hand in locking up said accounts.* Sonofabitch! scream Just what I needed, another goddamned wrench in the works. stressed *Closing his laptop, he gets up and takes care of his dishes, then retires for the evening.* stare

*Earlier today, after talking with the manager at his financial institution, it was confirmed that yesterday, a Mr. Antonio Pavani had placed an immediate block on these accounts due to Pietrina Pavani-Dougherty's name being listed on them. stressed Will reminds the manager of his long standing membership with this institution, and that the -only- monies that have been deposited into said accounts over the past several years were via direct deposits from Will's employer, the Geezerville Police Department. After a lengthy discussion on legalities, it appears that the only way for Will to regain access to his accounts is for his wife to terminate her interest in said accounts and remove her name from them. ...So, it's come down to this -already-. The manager then gives him a form for his wife to sign, and Will cordially thanks the manager for their assistance.
Later, Will goes to call his wife, but gets bumped into her voicemail. This in itself makes him feel that she may be screening his calls. ...Can't blame her none for that.* neutral
Voicemail to Trina from Will *There's a pause before the message starts* ...Hey there, lo-...Trina ...I'd really like to see the twins, and was wondering if we could schedule for a visit. *Another pause.* ...Trina, we need to talk. ...There's some things I need to clear up with you. ...Give me a call. *There's another pause and his last words are barely audible.* ...love you. neutral
*Ending the call, he notices the time and figures she probably won't get this message until tomorrow. Sighing, he pours himself a quad shot of whiskey, then heads into the living room to watch the local news on T.V.*

{{Since I've been busy with real life s**t during the day and getting eaten by dragons at night, I'm just going to say that this scene will be taking place outside of "real time" and hopefully won't take an entire month to get through emotion_facepalm }}
After looking into some records and discussing with Triny the potential whereabouts of her soon to be ex, Antonio arrives at the ranch style house in "middle class hell", as his sister put it. It's not exactly to his tastes either, but not everyone can live so luxuriously. He does take note, however, that this place seems a lot more spacious than necessary for a low-income bachelor. emotion_eyebrow The fact he had kept it all throughout the marriage was suspicious as well.
While revising the divorce papers, he was tempted to include that house being forfeited to Triny just so she could demolish it like the b*****d did to her heart, but in the end he determined that would likely just prolong that leech's entanglement in his sister's life. stare He wanted this to be as nice and clean of a break as possible to spare her further grief.
Climbing out of his Ferrari, he retrieves his suit jacket from the passenger seat and throws it on in one smooth motion before digging out his briefcase, locking up, and heading up the walkway to the front door, giving it a good knock.

(( It figures ... the -one- day (Wed.) that I -had- to get up at 6:30AM gonk stare to go on a day trip out of state on -maybe- 45 minutes of sleep, if that, and when we finally get back home and I'm too tired to go on the computer, -that's- the night when someone wants/needs to RP with Cop! gonk I'm here now, people ...still tired, but I'm here. ))
*Will is found out in the backyard near the shed in the back corner, trying to get his gas powered lawn mower up and running. With earbuds on, there's no way he can hear that someone is knocking at the front door. He really needs to get his lawn mowed, and this damned mower just isn't cooperating!* stressed C'mon you stupid son-of-a-...! scream *Knowing that there's young children playing in the neighborhood, he refrains from spewing out loudly with frustrated profanities.
At some point, he pulls out his cellphone and notices that he missed a call, and of course, it's the -one- call he's been waiting on for a response.* stressed sweatdrop
Voicemail to William Dougherty from Pietrina Pavani Hello. I'm sorry I missed your call. I…… um ……… *OMG she's at a complete loss for words and she starts to well up with tears crying …THINK DAMNIT …THINK!! scream * ………Of course…*sniff* crying …you can see…*sniff* crying … the children. ……… I just… *sniff* crying …… need to know … *sniff* crying …… when so I can …… *sniff* crying …… alert security. *She breaks down right there and cannot even speak crying gonk She forces out some words in a high pitched tone.* Just text me with the day.
*...Oh god, she's upset. gonk And it's rather obvious it's because of him and his message. stressed It bother's him -badly- that she's upset like that, and he desperately wants to call her right back and see if she's alright. But, ...she specifically asked him to -text- her back. Against his better judgement, he does as she requested.* stressed
Text message to Trina from Will Will Friday or Saturday work for you? Let me know what time to be there.
*After sending the text, he turns his attention back to his lawn mower. After another unsuccessful attempt at trying to get it running, he pulls it back into the shed, then drags out the old fashioned reel mower and gets to work.* stressed
