User ImageName: Maishel
Age: 24
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Craft: Minecraft, specifically ore appraisal and structure assessment
Rank: Journeyman
Location: Hadston Hold (a minor hold, beholden to Crom)

Physical Description: Maishel is, well, a belle. Considered a classic beauty, the sort you'd only imagine coming from a romance novel or a painting by a student with extreme ideals, she is delicate in her features and overall physique. Dainty and pale, her skin is akin to flawless alabaster stone, her hands soft from days not knowing hard labor. Small in the waist and small in the bust, her clothing hides much of her actual figure.

She is blessed with long, brunette hair that is always kept in a tight bun to her head, or in a braid that is tucked up lest it get in the way of her working. She has snappy green eyes that are far more honest and expressive than the rest of her face, which is decorated with shapely lips and a soft nose that accents her features rather than distracts from them.

Personality: A picture of grace and beauty, Maishel is every inch a lady until she opens her mouth. Blessed or cursed with a tone that leaves no room for reproach, she bullies her way through conversations much in the same manner a wher runs through a shop full of pottery. That is to say, she's not delicate at all. Pride fuels and colors her day to day actions, right from the moment she wakes up until she closes her eyes for bed - everything in between is done how she wants and she goes to sleep satisfied. Arguments with Maishel are a pointless endeavor, anyone who dares try with her would be better off thinking they can breathe under water, as the young woman flat out refuses to believe she is wrong, let alone admit it. Her pride has burned far more bridges and caused entirely too many problems for it to be healthy, yet she clings to it and wields it as both a weapon and a shield.

She also wields compassion as a weapon, using it to often guide her morals. Maishel has great pity for those who are lesser in status than her, those who have to work hard for so little in their daily lives. If left to her own devices she'd likely be overly compassionate and foolhardy to the point of giving nearly everything away in the belief that her position allows her to be so kind. It is also this belief that exposes her for the hypocrite that she is due to her judgement of others within her own social circles. She believes that people of their position should be more than willing to give to the less fortunate because it's the "right thing to do", all the while never quite looking in to the fact she is able due to her wealth and position. Maishel's grasp of her own privilege is woefully lacking to almost a point of naivete, but she won't admit such a thing when it's pointed out to her. Something about pride and all that.

Maishel can't be held down and won't be held down regardless of what is expected of her. She knows her place, of course, but that should serve more like a set of guidelines than absolute rules. So long as she follows the outline there won't be any problems, or so Maishel believes, and things are much easier to do her way than have to attempt to explain herself. If she knows she's in the right and has the proof to back it up there's nothing going to restrain her from saying so. She doesn't need the help or advice from outside folks when it's a task she's been trained for, and boy oh boy has she been trained.

Positive Trait List Compassionate, independent, bold
Negative Trait List Excessively proud, hypocritical, judgmental

History: The only child to a faintly well-to-do couple out of minor hold, Maishel was raised with something akin to a silver spoon in her mouth. Wanting for naught, raised to believe she had specific responsibilities due to her position in life, she thrived under the apparent love and devotion given to her by her two somewhat attentive parents. Her early year education in the manners of the world were not lacking, and she grew to be a sharp student. When it came time to decide her future at the relatively old age of seven turns, the more dire situation of her family was starting to come to light.

Unable to continue affording the life of luxury that the family had always known, Maishel's father took to turning to an old business associate with a proposition. He offered his daughter in service to the family, were they willing to pay for her education in whatever craft they felt could benefit them. At the time anything would have sufficed, the desire more to have her leave home and not see the problems rather than actually have a craft, and it was through long agreement that a deal was placed. A contract was signed and Maishel's fate was sealed.

Raised to be a good an obedient child (despite her occasional wild streak of independence or prideful stubbornness), Maishel obliged the wishes of her parents and bid them farewell as she was sent off to learn. That would be the last time she saw her father, as time took its toll and separated the family. Placed in the minercraft for reasons quite unknown to her, other than that the people in charge of her education wished for it, it would be several turns before Maishel was called home and the terms of the deal that had been made were properly discussed.

The "contract" turned out to be so much more, as Maishel learned after her father's rather untimely passing from a sudden illness. While it was true that her father had arranged for Thovorn's family to pay for her school, there was an underlying understanding that the young woman would be bound to work for the family so long as they required her services; in all but name she'd been sold to the family. Bitter by the news but too proud to admit she wanted out, the young woman decided to "honor" the contract and continue her education with the intent to serve. There was no reason for her to say no, she needed the money to care for her mother and preserve their way of life after all. Also she had several turns left to see if the Lord of Hadston still wanted her to work for him when things were said and done, considering time would have passed and maybe he'd moved on.

Maishel kept that hope with her throughout her apprenticeship. The hope died as soon as she rose in her ranks.

Having properly walked the tables to a Journeyman and able to practice her craft on her own terms, Maishel was called to Hadston in order to fulfill her familial obligations. How long she is to stay in Thovorn's service remains to be seen, but for certain she expects her time to not be enjoyed in the slightest. In fact she intends to make it that way.

Other: Maishel hates you Thorn-in-her-Side.
