"Just keep going." Terran urged Moana as she froze when they were so close to the exit. He didn't even want to look to see what had appeared, best to put as much distance between them and that vile woman as possible before she realized that they were escaping.

Terran was relieved when she pushed on once again, and though the taste of freedom when they left the building was sweet Moana kept going, and the female faun stayed close beside. When there was finally so much distance between them and the temple that the shouting could no longer be heard, Terran stopped. "I am so, so sorry." Terran said, putting his small feminine hand on Moana's arm. It wouldn't be enough. Terran wasn't sure he could forgive himself for putting Moana, the love of his life, near that sort of danger again. It had been nice while it lasted.

Takshaka remained perfectly still for several moments, laying flat after hatching. Slowly, very slowly he began to move. Purple eyes gleamed as he started to right himself. With a raspy laugh, combined with a very sideways posturing, the baby picked his target of the ruined cake.

Once the target was picked, he raced with instinctual quickness not bothering to attempt to avoid anything or anyone. At the decimated offering, the little blue boy took the opportunity to shove into his equally blue sister, Anali. It wasn't for competition for the offerings, more to start to show who was boss.

With that done, he took his few bites, discarding the frosting as not-food. This came to an abrupt end when his light blue sister dive bombed him. Hissing out a furious string of baby curses, the little boy lashed out against his sister with both fists closed and flailing.

Empress Nadira smiled to herself, watching her newly-hatched little ones spread out, causing terror and chaos throughout their new home. Yes, they would live here. It was ostentatious and ornately-decorated, plenty of room for growth...yes, this would suit them quite well.

Her eyes flicked over towards the little ones who had developed some interest in the sugary sweet thing on the floor. A frown darkened her face at seeing some of their antics and she darted over with a rustle of feathers and scales. First, she picked up the little boy who was shoving his sister. Of course, babies wouldn't know any better, but they had to be taught at some point. "Tsk tsk, Takshaka," she scolded, lifting him to eye level. "One day, you'll understand how things work around here...but for now, no shoving your sisters. Go play with your brothers if you can't be nice." She set him down at some distance from the others, thinking it would be an important lesson to learn for the boy in the long run. As they grew, the boy didn't need an army of angry, dominant females after his head. Especially if they were his sisters. That might be worse than strangers.

Leaving him to the sugary dessert again, she turned to the deep magenta girl trying to chew on Takshaka's twin. "Ah ah, dear...I know you're hungry, but we do not eat siblings," she chuckled, reaching to remove the baby fangs gently from Anali's tail and separate the two. Turning Fidi towards the fleeing Pae'il, Nadira chuckled darkly. "If you'd not like to share sweets with your brothers and sisters, perhaps there's something else to your tastes, little one."

Jahleel had faced little challenge to their invasion of the temple. Which was good, considering all the little ones about. Wouldn't do for them to get hurt. Even if he had momentarily been looking forward to a good fight. Just one would have been nice.

His eyes scanned the remaining fleeing Pae'il, pausing on one that seemed to have halted to stare as well. Wings like the rest...male, which raised a territorial hiss from his throat, and he wondered why at first...until he noticed the reptilian tail waving behind him. Another Na--no, clearly not one of them, not by a long shot. Perhaps snake-like in nature, but not as they were. Had one of their kind bred with one of these winged creatures? Even so...this was no ally. Only another of the soft, cowardly Pae fleeing the temple.

He lifted his scimitar threateningly, snorted in the Pae's direction, then turned to watch his little ones terrorize the populace. Atta girl! Bite those ankles! He grinned to himself...

As the blue boy flailed around -quite amusingly no less- Priya started to hit back. But it seemed no sooner than the fight had started, was it over. Her mother was lifting the male up and scolding him. If she had understood what was going on she would have laughed at not getting in trouble, but all she knew was she wasn't being paid attention to!

So she zoomed about, hissing at the fleeing pae that were not her kin. It was much fun, scaring the life out of the funny looking pae.

Fully prepared to fight both sisters, he started to protest as the floor grew farther away. Stilled by his mother's voice, the little boy looked her in the eye and smiled at the Empress. With a mouth wide he waved his tiny little arms at her cooing and hissing. Oh he knew he was getting scolded, but at the moment he had his mother and that was great!

Down once more, he looked to the twin he had gone after before. Then to the other sister that had gone after HIM. So sisters were off-limits for now, wanting so to impress his mother instincts argued with the need to rough house. That just meant he needed to find one of his brothers rough it out with them.

That was after he ate. Cake mostly gone, there was another table in the distance, maybe it had better things? Headless of the others again, the little boy struck out zooming towards the next target for food. Chasing the big two legged things just wasn't fun enough, none of them were on his level so they were spared, for now.

The eldest of the clutch, a blue female with jade eyes, had remained quiet since hatching. Her hunger pains were beginning to become unbearable yes but there was something about everything going on around her. Something...Entertaining. The running and screaming, her parents, the odd grey purple one that seemed to be relishing in all this. The faintest hint of a smile curled on her lips as she enjoyed the show for the moment. The moment didn't last that long. Her smile vanished and she began to look around. There MUST be something to eat around here.

Like most of her siblings she gravitated to the fallen cake first. There was the most activity there, plus their mother. She was late to the cake party it seemed, most of it was gone. There was still some left and she pounced on it, stuffing what remained in her face. It wasn't much, but it was something. She still hungered.

The little one slithered over to her father, watching him curiously as he hissed at what seemed to be another male, though different. Sedna looked between the two for a moment before doing her best to mimic her father, hissing loudly at the stranger. He was clearly not welcome here! If he was not welcomed here...Was he food? There was something fuzzy attached to his arm. Was that food too? The hatchling looked up quizzically to her father, almost if to ask if they were ok to eat.

Upon hatching, the little silver snake was not the first to move and spread out after things. No, he looked around first, identifying the two larger ones as mother and father and the smaller as those like him. It was meticulous, almost, the way his eyes darted between those about him.

But there were some that did not fit in, and he was hungry.

His siblings were about attacking each and every way, but he... no... he would chase after the younger ones lingering behind. There were at least a few noticeably smaller than the majority; perhaps they could satiate his hunger. Or he could just get them out. Fangs bared, he started to move after the teenagers in the room, hissing as he'd seen his father do.

Fídi resisted for but a moment in releasing her sister's tail tip from her grasp. Her mother was right, her sister didn't taste as good as she had hoped, but it was more to annoy her sister that she had kept at her. She looked up at her mom as the empress chuckled then spoke then looked in the direction of the fleeing pae'il. She grinned widely and hissed as menacingly as a little baby naga could and waved her arms in the direction of the nearest one reaching for it wanting to get after it.

Fortissimo just needed to give up on this angel. The thought made her sigh heavily, her shoulder sinking some. She was surprised by her own reaction when all along she knew the night would end and they would go their separate ways. She had just thought that for once something more would happen especially with the connection she had felt with him. It was sudden, strong, passionate and she was still hungering for it, but as she watched the numbers of Pae pouring out of the building dwindle she began to lose hope.

That was till she felt a touch on her arm. She whirled around her fist almost colliding with his gut, “Oh! Xanthous!” she instead threw her arms around his neck, hugging tightly. “Sorry 'bout that! I'm a lil stirred up by everythi'n that's happen'n.” she breathed easily against him enjoying the feel of his warm body pressed against hers. She hoped this was a sign she wouldn't have to be alone tonight. Why else would he have sought her out, right? He could have easily snuck away. Instead, here he was.

She pulled back as his words, ride? If her mind hadn't been thinking about not being alone that evening she probably would have understood his true meaning behind it, instead her cheeks were flushed from her mind swimming in the gutter. Was he so bold? Man, she liked that. “Oh!” she gasped as she found herself in his arms, securing herself with her arms around his neck, “Oh, flying!” she laughed awkwardly to herself beyond happy that he wasn't able to read her thoughts. Not that that devilish wink of his had helped.

Her eyes widened as his wings spread in preparation for flight. Her lips parted in awe as they began to beat the air lifting them gently into the sky. She felt a prickling sensation run up her arms and down her spine at the anticipation. She never thought she would have an opportunity like what she was about to experience. She pressed her forehead against the side of his head, giving off a girlish squeal, “I can't believe this is happen'n to me!”

When you are bound to the earth like she was, it was a natural thing to want to take to the skies. What freedom the sky had! What exciting adventures and opportunities it held for those who could reach it! Now, she'd have that opportunity to feel the wind in her mane, see the earth from a new perspective, and do it all in the protective arms of her date. He just continued to amaze her with new tricks, and that was becoming unbelievably hard to resist. She playfully nibbled on his earlobe as she purred into his ear, “I'm guess'n this is when the hero whisks the damsel away from danger and she's suppose to find a way to- thank him?” her laugh rumbled gently in his ear. She'd be sure to thank him for a wonderful evening by giving him an equally wonderful night.

To be continued...

Sen'ka watched as the blue figure inched its way away from her, each step slow and precises as if worried to rile her up. The little Naga just stared, watching every move it made, learning and analyzing the situation. The figure finally turned and ran with the others, ending the lesson for the small Naga. So she turned to find something else to catch her attention. This time it was the ruckus her siblings were causing. Intrigued she made her way over to the group a bit before Mother did. Her light purple eyes took in everything around her, even catching movement in the corner of her eyes. She turned her head about the time the beautiful Naga made her way over to the group. Sen'ka was instantly drawn to the other, slithering her way over close to the other in order to be near her. She drank in every word the being said taking it to heart. This was not how they were to act, just as she expected. She huffed at the others, raising herself up above them best she could on her stubby tail. If this was not the type of behavior Mother deemed appropriate then she would have no part in it.

She couldn't deny that cake looked delightful, though. Perhaps she could sneak around the others and indulge herself without the need to fight. So as the others were being scolded or chasing other Pae, she made her way around them to a quiet spot where she could stuff her face. Now, if they could only do something about all the screaming and running around of those loud things! A nap was certainly in order...

Feral shook his head, letting out a deep sigh. "Let us away to home now, away from all of this. I'm sure it will be much more relaxing... not to mention safer the farther we get from his place." he said, reaching out a last time to brush the tears from her eyes before taking her hand and flying by her side to lead her home. Though the dangers seemed to be staying inside the temple, he still wasn't about to let her leave his sights, even for a second.

Summary of Events

Venus' engagement party seemed to be a success...at first. Pae'il had come from near and far to bring gifts and gaze upon her gorgeous fiance, Adonis. She'd allowed her children to have their fun, even providing her daughters with bows and arrows to join in the sport. After all, she was the Goddess of Love. What better way to celebrate and show her appreciation than with lots of love? She had even invited many of the demi-gods and demi-goddesses who lived on the Isle, who each brought her a special present in her honor.

One of these, the Faun demi-goddess now calling herself Aldadora in lieu of the name she'd previously used, was approached by the Goddess of Harmony, Harmonia, who asked to speak with her privately. Alone, Harmonia admitted that she, and not her brother, Himeros, was Aldadora's true deity parent. She had kept her identity secret for fear of being saddled with a half-mortal child to raise. Of course, this had inadvertently pushed the responsibility onto her brother, explaining why he'd never actually been able to remember the events of that night as he'd been told they occurred. He remembered something about a Naiad...but no Faun, and had chalked the incident up to too much wine and maybe a few of his brothers' arrows. Her true parentage revealed, Aldadora's birthright is restored, returning her to full demi-goddess status.

Of course, it's not really easy to saddle a deity with a half-mortal child if they don't want it, as her brother proved. Perhaps there's more to the story than that. ..

Mid-party, Venus was called away for business...and the Goddess that returned? Well, she wasn't Venus. She revealed herself to be Eris, Goddess of Chaos, now armed with shape-shifting abilities and accompanied by a pair of enormous, snake-like Pae'il, as well as a number of eggs that had been smuggled in within one of Venus' many gifts. These eggs hatched into smaller snake-like Pae'il, similar to the first and with a taste for meat. With Venus missing, the Erotes and Graces dared not confront the Goddess of Chaos, considering the power she'd held over them the year before, and now she seemed even more powerful. No telling what new abilities she had, they chose to flee the temple, herding all the mortal Pae'il to safety in the process.

Eris has claimed Venus' temple for her own, gifting it to the Naga Emperor and Empress to raise their family. None may dare enter the temple now, least they face the Nagas' wrath. And perhaps Eris' as well.

Venus has not been seen since.
