Was it the Russian accent? Did the Russian accent make him more intimidating or something? Was it his height, his eyes? His smirk? Or just the fact that it was night? Honestly Zakhav wasn't really sure, but it had been a while since he got to have fun like this-- he was going to milk it a bit. "Send out your next pokemon," he instructed, laying his accent on a bit thick, tilting his head back to stare down at the kid, who warily complied. A Yanmega... that was almost impressive enough for Zak to consider stealing. Except that it was weaker than it's trainer's trembling knees. Pass.

To add to the theatrics, Zakhav stifled a yawn, watching the young man's shoulders deflate a bit as he pulled out his last pokemon. He couldn't help but let a grin spread over his face as he tilted his head back, staring down as a Mothim was released. "I vas hoping for a challenge, too..." he drawled. He closed his eyes, scratching the back of hsi neck, then making a dismissive gesture with his hand. "Tackle, 'Nik," he instructed. And just like that, the final pokemon was brought down. The boy deflated, looking down, then returned his pokemon, murmuring something under his breath, before slouching off. "Bad luck," Zakhav lazily called after him, "Maybe better next time..." Smirking, he turned, heading back to the fire. Sotnik stared after the kid, then turned, hurrying on after his trainer.

Grinning to himself, Zakhav headed back to the camp, sitting down and crossing his legs. He placed the egg gently in his lap again and reached forward for the bowl, hunching over to keep the egg warm. The grin disappeared as he started eating, occasionally pushing his food around in thought. Deys closed his eyes, eating at a steady pace, looking nearly meditative in his process. Lillipup, and even Totodile, had been released to have dinner, though the latter was kept close, and within striking range of Zakhav. Clearly, he didn't want to risk any more... sneak attacks...

Glancing up at the now dark sky, Zakhav stifled a yawn-- a true yawn, this time. It wasn't that late but he was getting tired. With most of his work done, and reasons to get up early the next day, there was no harm in heading to bed a little early. As it were, he was still planning on using the Incense the next day, however... He was noticing that Sotnik seemed quite a bit stronger already. Deysnik could probably use some actual training, too. The area's pokemon were... not very good. They attracted weak trainers, and perhaps he could encounter one or two more the next day, but he couldn't deny that it might benefit to find a better place to set up shop, and prepare for an intense training session. He would have to see what Lidia's status was in the morning.

With his food finished off, Zakhav stood, shuffling away to unpack some of his things, throwing a tarp out on the ground to keep his sleeping bag from getting dirty. He laid it out, the egg tucked safely in its container while he did this, then covered it with another tarp to keep the morning dew from soaking it. He also carefully put his electronics away and stuffed them between the tarps. Once this was done and his pokemon's dishes were empty and soaking to be cleaned in the morning, he took off his shoes, standing on the tarp to keep his socks clean while he changed, dressing in a long sleeved, under armor shirt for his pajamas, and flannel bottoms. He stepped out of his socks and, with his other clothes, put them under the tarp as well, making his way over to pick up the egg, and climb into bed. His pokemon he allowed to stay out of their pokeballs, save Totodile, and he, meanwhile, disappeared under the tarp and into his sleeping bag, egg tucked safely up against him with his arms wrapped around to keep it warm.

Since he went to bed so soon after sunset, waking up early was not difficult for Zakhav. He could have set an alarm, but there was no real point, as he tended to wake up naturally, stirring before the sun began to rise. He shifted, waking with the egg in his arms, and moved, pushing himself up a bit, hugging it close and looking blearily around with his elbow propping him up. HIs pokemon seemed to be still sound asleep, Deys sleeping on his back, his fends resting on his stomach, Lillipup curled up, and Sotnik laying on his stomach, arms straight by his side, very close to Deys. Perhaps because of the cold? Sakhav yawned, taking a moment to himself, snuggled under his sleeping bag, the tarp pulled back a bit.

Shifting slightly, Zakhav turned his attention to eye the fire. He gently nudged the egg away, and a little further into the sleeping back, pushing himself up, and then hopping to his feet once his waste was out of the sleeping bag. He tossed the top part back down, so it was closed and the egg would hopefully stay warm, shivering as he moved over to grab a jacket, and the cushioning from the egg container. He shoved both into his sleeping bag, hoping they would absorb the warmth, and then moved to light the fire. For one, it was still sort of dark, though the first few rays of light were beginning to streak the skies, and for another, it was cold. It was pretty darn tempting to just crawl back under the sleeping bag, but if he was going to get a head start on the day and take advantage of waking up early, he needed to avoid accidentally falling back asleep.

He walked across his tarp to his bag, pulling out his personal communication device to send her a quick status update message, and then grabbing his clothes to get changed. He would clean up and take a shower after he got to the Pokecenter or something. There was no way he was taking a dip in that ice cold lake this morning. No. Way.

It was a quick (and, after he considered it, easy) decision to go swimming. He put his clothes in his sleeping bag to warm up, and moved the tarp so he could step out of the water and onto it. Once he was in his swim trunks, he slipped into the water, shivering at its icy cold temperatures. Sahking his head against it, he plunged in, teeth chattering until he was able to get a steady swimming rhythm. Oof, if he got sick for this...

The swim wasn't very long, or at least, it wasn't a marathon length swim. It was enough to get his heart rate up and his body temperature high enough that he didn't feel totally frozen in the water. When he emerged, he noticed that Deysatnik and Sot were awake, and he gave them an upward nod of his head in greeting. "Morning," he added, grabbing his towel and moving to dry off, "I hope you slept vell. Ve vill likely be doing some training, zen move to a new location to train more." He dried himself off and got dressed, sitting down by the fire, and pulling the egg and his jacket out from the sleeping bag, putting the latter on and bundling the egg up in his lap amidst the covers he'd placed in there. "Ve vill have breakfast... Zen begeen training," he added, grabbing his bag, and beginning to cook.

While he cooked up breakfast, he gave a nod towards a Starly that had fluttered down from the trees. "Go battle vhile I cook, Sotnik," he instructed, "Zen you can be ze first to eat." The snivy perked up a bit, seemed to consider, then stood, running over like a ninja with his arms behind him, to tackle the Starly and knock it out cold. Hopefully it would just take one or two of these before the food was ready. Despite eating just before going to bed, he was actually pretty darn hungry...

As another Starly appeared-- and then quickly fell-- Sotnik sniffed, his nose twitching to the smell of food. And indeed, it was apparently ready, Zak calling just as he turned to take another sniff. "Sotnik! Ees done. Come get your food," he informed the grass pokemon. The snivy hurried over, happily taking his breakfast and stuffing some in his mouth. Deys took his meal as well, and the smells seemed to stir Lillipup from his sleep, so Zakhav gave him his food as well. He released Totodile, giving him a leering, warning look, before handing him some food, and checked his communication device. 'Wouldn't you like to know' was Lidia's response.... which meant either she was annoyed, or she wouldn't be taking nearly as long as he'd thought...

Once breakfast was over Zakhav started boiling some water, working to clean the dishes from the night before and this morning's. He wasn't exactly a fan of camping, per se, but sometimes he preferred it over going to the pokecenter. There was a different sort of... privacy that came with being on your own, with just your pokemon, outside. Sure someone could come across you, but it was substantially less likely in such an open setting, especially at night. And you had a much greater chance of getting away with self defense for attacking them, too! It was quite perfect. He glanced up as a shadow passed over, frowning as a familiar Salamence landed, and Lidia hopped off. "You vere qvek," he commented, scrubbing the last of the bowls, "Did you even sleep?""Your concern is touching, but yes, I did thank you," she replied, tossing him something. He caught it, smirking as he recognized the exp share. "Perfect, sank you. I don't suppose you'd be eenterested een a nuzzer battle...?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow and glancing at her as he shook some water off the bowl, and put it with the others to dry. She stared at him, then rolled her eyes. "Yeah, fine, I guess. I may or may not have come prepared. Don't worry, the pokemon are still pretty weak. I just figured you'd beg me for the chance to train your pokemon some more," she replied with a smirk. "Zat ees vhy I alveys call on you. You just know me so vell," Zakhav remarked, standing up to his full height.

Both trainers moved over and away from the fire place, which was now smoking with the last of the burning embers. "Sotnik, come on. Ve have a bit more training to do before ve leave," he called over to the snivy, who heaved a sigh, but pushed himself to his feet and came over. It had been nonstop training since they got here, it seemed... but at least it would hopefully be more low key once they were traveling. And the pokemon hadn't been difficult. As the first opponent was sent out, it seemed that trend was to continue, and he was able to easily bring it down.

"No, not yet," he replied, nodding Sotnik forward to continue battling, "Perhaps after I use ze incense, see how he ees doeeng after, vis ze lucky egg." She shrugged, but before she could give her opinion, he grinned, and continued. "Or perhaps I vill geev eet to ze pokemon zat hatches from ze egg."
