Right, training. They needed it badly, lest they just allow themselves to keep getting pummeled by people like Zak. "Where are we anyways?" Scarlett inquired, motioning Cypher over so the Porygon could project a map. Zak had taken her pretty far away from Jubilife, but still within the vicinity. Likely so that she couldn't cry out for help and actually have anyone hear. By the looks of it, they were pretty close to the ocean too. Scarlett sniffed the air, taking in a very faint, but familiar salty scent that calmed her aggravation from before down. She moved towards the smell like a Combee to honey. "We can train by the ocean. Plenty o' pokemon down there, don't have t' go scrounging about the town's slim pickin's when we can have a whole ocean full." Scarlett said with a grin. As Cypher's map predicted, it didn't take them long to reach the shoreside, where a warm salty breeze greeted her welcomingly. "Ahhh... Now this be a scene I could get used to..." Scarlett sighed, meeting with the sand like an old friend. Beta, Cypher, and H.O.R.N.E.T. all hovered just above the grainy substance, but Scarlett dug her boots right in, walking closer to the shoreline. Your blood pressure levels have decreased significantly. Beta commented, and Scarlett chuckled. "S'what happens when I don't have a p***k holdin' me fer ransom at gunpoint." Scarlett replied, a hint of a begrudging tone in her voice. I do recall that instance. Though I was in hibernation, I was aware of my surroundings. In light of the danger you faced, I believe that instance is what woke me up. Scarlett glanced at Beta curiously. "How d'ya figure?" She inquired, moving to H.O.R.N.E.T. and climbing onto her back so that she could hover over the ocean and look for pokemon to battle.
I felt an intrusion. Unfamiliar hands grabbed me, yet I could do nothing. I believe this prompted my awakening. I do not wish to be defenseless in the face of danger again. I am sure you, of all people, can understand that feeling. Scarlett glanced down and away. "...Yeah. I can." She admitted. "Do you think--" She started, but out of nowhere, something leapt out of the water and tore open a pocket of her pack, emptying out three big mushrooms into the water below, where the attacking pokemon quickly gobbled them up. "Why ya little....!" Scarlett fumed. Those mushrooms were rare valuables! But rather than grumble at her loss, Scarlett pulled out a primer ball. "Well, if yer gonna use those, ya may as well use them for me!" She stated, tossing the small white ball at the mysterious pokemon, quickly capturing while it was distracted. Once the ball quit wiggling, Scarlett retrieved the ball and let the odd shark like pokemon out to inspect her catch. She didn't plan on letting it go, otherwise it would be a waste of the mushrooms she'd gathered. Still, what was this strange pokemon?

As Scarlett continued to inspect her new Aklor, someone came swimming up to them both and glubbing angrily. Was this another pokemon? No, just a weird trainer. "Uh...." Scarlett looked at the trainer with a quirked brow, not understanding a single word he said until he finally popped out of the water. "Fwahh!!! And that's why I challenge you to a battle!!!" He said confidently. "Er, sure I guess..." Scarlett looked to her newest pokemon, figuring it was gonna need some training. "You guess??? What's that supposed to mean?! That's all I get for everything I've said to you?!?!" This guy was seriously starting to weird Scarlett out. "T' be honest I didn't hear a damn thing, just a bunch a glubbing and bubbles. Ya were half under th' water all that time..." Scarlett pointed out, having HORNET back up to give them some space. "If it's a battle ya want though, I'll be happy t' take ya up on th' offer though, we need t' train." The angry glubbing man submerged into the water slowly and glubbed even more incomprehensible words before sending out a Fletchinder, which fluttered above the water around them.
Scarlett looked to the little anchor shark she had captured, which was now looking hungrily at the tiny bird. "Hey Beta, can you communicate to that pokemon?" Scarlett asked. There was silence for a moment before Beta responded. It's thoughts are rather primitive, but it recognized that you are now it's owner due to capturing it. It will follow your command. Scarlett nodded. "Alright, your name from now on is Mako, okay?" Scarlett stated matter of factly. "Klor!!!" The little shark responded. "This battle is yours, lets see what you can do." Scarlett nodded, and Mako seemed only too eager to comply, jumping out of the water and biting down on the little bird before flopping back into the water. The Fletchinder was instantly knocked out, and quickly returned to it's pokeball by it's trainer before it hit the water.

Somehow in the middle of his flailing and what seemed like drowning to Scarlett, the swimmer managed to return his pansear and then send out a numel. Being a ground type, poison attacks wouldn't be very effective, so they needed to try something else. "Hey Mako, what else can you do?" Scarlett inquired. "Captain, you can use the pokedex you acquired to scan and look up your pokemon's current attacks and abilities." Cypher pointed out. "Oh? Well ain't that handy." Scarlett used, pulling her pokedex out and scanning Mako with it. After some time, Mako was identified as an Aklor, and listed his current moveset. Sharpen, Poison Fang, Fire Fang, and Ice Fang. Sharpen was a status enhancing move, which wasn't necessary here. The numel was weak, it could be taken out in a single hit, but Fire and Poison fang wouldn't be very effective here. Ice Fang on the other hand....

They glowed a bright blue, and the water around him grew cold as he launched towards the Numel and finished it off. "Blurrbbruu?!?!" The swimmer bubbled out in surprise, and Scarlett chuckled. It seemed that Scarlett's amusement with the swimmer's incompetence continued to make him mad. Not surprising, but it changed nothing as he returned his numel and sent out a larvesta. "Wanna try out that fire fang now Mako?" Scarlett offered, wanting to test out all of the attacks her new pokemon had. Since Larvesta was part bug, a fire fang would do an average ammount of damage, as opposed to if the bug had been purely fire type. "Klor!" Mako's fangs burned blazing red as he bit into the Larvesta, finishing it off as quickly as the rest.
The swimmer continued to bubble more unheard words of anger, though Scarlett couldn't help but notice that he was a little farther down into the water now than before.... Or maybe she was just thinking things, after all the swimmer was still bubbling at her and was able to return his pokemon, attempting to grab another pokeball from whatever unseen storage he was hiding underneath the water. The last and final pokemon was sent out, a Chimchar. Probably this guy's starter pokemon. The monkey leapt out of it's pokeball and then immediately clung to it's trainer's head, trying hard not to let it's fiery tail touch the water. This of course only sank it's already drowning trainer even further into the water, and now completely cut off from oxygen, the swimmer flailed to try and get his pokemon off his head. "Heh. Mako, use Poison Fang again." Scarlett nodded, and the little shark tackled the Chimchar into the water, locking the monkey in his jaws. The swimmer breached the surface and quickly returned his Chimchar, but after that defeat seemed to give up the ghost submerging himself under the water. Scarlett stared after him for a moment, but when he didn't resurface, her eyes burned brightly with anger. "Oi! Where's my prize money?!" She called down into the water, caring far more about her reward than the swimmer's life. "Tch. Dodgin' his fees eh? Mako, go fetch." Scarlett sent the Aklor down after the swimmer.

Scarlett figured the should start making their way to Oreburgh soon. They'd done a lot of training here, but she wondered just how strong the gym leader was... Were they strong enough to beat the gym? She was sure that the older members of her team could handle it, but she didn't want to have to rely on them. She wanted to strengthen the weaker links of her team. With that in mind she returned all of her current Pokemon that were out of their balls, and began looking for some more wild Pokemon to battle.
And then she spotted it. A Shinx, waiting by the water, likely looking for some fish to fry. Scarlett promptly sent out Poseidon. "This one's all you Poseidon, last chance. I did the hard part of findin' it, now ya jus' have to defeat it." Scarlett nodded over to the electric type, and Poseidon jumped on the opportunity, immediately slamming the Shinx with a Blizzard to knock it down and out before the poor thing could so much as react. "Heh. You're a strong little bugga ain't ya?" She grinned, leaning down to pet her Piplup in approval before taking a look at the downed Shinx. Much to her surprise, even though she was clearly down for the count, the little electric lioness was growling and sparking at them, struggling to get back up. "Oh? Ya've still got some fight in ya?" Scarlett smirked. "Ya've got spunk; I like that." She murmured, plucking up an empty pokeball and spinning it thoughtfully on a finger. The last thing she needed was ore pokemon to train, considering she already had so many but....
"Tsk." She tossed the pokeball at the Shinx and caught it without much of a fight back, as she expected. Now the little lion was hers. "I'm sure she'll be useful at some point." Scarlett commented, tucking the pokeball away for now.

Scarlett was satisfied with her new catch, though she knew it would probably be a pain to train, in the end it would be worth it, she was sure. Though, she figured she should probably get her team healed up, especially the KOed Shinx. "Alright, let's get a move on to Oreburgh. I have a hankering to kick some poor gym leader's a**." Scarlett sneered. Though really what she meant was blow off steam, the source of said steam of course being Zakhov. Poseidon seemed to catch on, puffing up a bit as well to emulate his trainer's anger. Then again he wasn't too pleased by essentially being called weak by that guy either. He would show him! He was gonna get bigger, and stronger too! And next time he'd be able to protect Scarlett!

The girls expression lite up. "Oh wow your a coordinator ?" Inquired the Zorua looking over joyed at the subject. "If that's what your doing id love to come with you ma'am. Please" The girl clapped both hands together holding them above her head as a simple of her begging to come with. Sonoko didn't mind keeping the girl/pokemon but she had to make sure of something first. It had been an itching question for a while. "You don't already have a trainer do you?" She asked as she took over for Luponny whom she returned to her ball for a rest. The mute pokemon had been driving for several hours now. The Zorua shifted an instant later back to its true shape. All the joy drained out of her expression. "I did, but he abandoned me when i couldn't beat those ghost pokemon back at the manson." the pokemon said. "I wasn't strong enough so i wasn't of value to him he said, then he left me there." Knowing the feeling of being utterly abandoned in the world gave Sonoko reason enough to keep the pokemon. "Well he's gone and you've got me now. It doesn't matter to me if your strong or not."
Rolling into the second city of the day, though night was approaching, Sonoko pulled the wagon to a halt just past the city limits so she could resupply on food, personal needs and pick up a few items she had been in need of for her medical study's. The Zorua accompanied her along the way. Once everything was bought and loaded into the wagon it was dinner time. They had skipped lunch being on the road. It had been to save time they she skipped the meal.
Finding a pokemon friendly restaurant Sonoko was using the last of her personal savings to treat themselves to a warm meal. After this should would need to either win the contest or find a way to make some quick cash. Which really would be that difficult. She could make and sell medicine or put of street shows with her pokemon to earn what she needed.
"Hows the meal" She asked the Zorua was remained in her human shape as she ate a bowl of soup with some crackers. The statement left Sonoko speechless as her soup drained off the spoon and back into the bowl.

When she found her voice again a single question was all she could come up with to say. "Why run around looking like a girl then?" Setting her spoon back down into the bowl to retrieve a mouth full of the now cooling soup. The Zorua child pokemon didn't skip a beat in HIS response. "Because i like want to. Something wrong with that ?" His tone was sort of accusing. Sonoko knew just how to n** that in the butt. "No, not at all. I just caught me off guard is all." Sonoko giggled then sipped another spoon full. "Its not ever day you encounter a shape shifting, talking pokemon who's a boy but dressing like a girl." Sonoko winked but didn't show any concern with what the pokemon wanted to appear as. Male or Female, it was just a word that defined ones gender, nothing more. The child pokemon seemed pleased with her response and went back to her meal.
After lunch Sonoko escorted the Zorua back to the wagon and after another hour of checking the wagon for any repairs it might need ad getting things unpacked and put away they where off. The next town over had the contest hall she wanted but it would be nearly two months before she could compete in it. Contests wheren't like Gym battles. You couldn't simply want in and challenge the contest leader to a match and win, no you had to also beat your competition. Which normally meant the contest where held once every three months.
The travel from Twinleaf to Floaroma Town would have taken them days on foot. Rapidash could have cut the travel to just a day or so but she had the wagon to think of after all. Three days wasn't bad though. It was a quarter of the time other wise. It gave her lot of time to prepare and get this in order.

Cute was the theme so she had to pick a pokemon who's moves and ability's would both wow and sparkle. Swable had good moves but she didn't want to put the effort into for a Cute contests when she already had such high hopes for it in the Smart contest later one. Luponny's where all Beauty and Milotic was also Beauty. Clefairy could be a good option but she wasn't sure the pokemon was ready to be taking center stage, sides shes never gone over any contest training with it. "Id love to do Cute contests !" Chimed the little Zorua girl. Sonoko stared blankly for a moment or two but it really struck her. The Zorua's needed some better moves yeah but her ability to shape shift into this adorable little girl would be so unexpected no way she could lose points in appearance. "Are you sure ?"
