Looking back at her paper, there was a very obvious gap in her team. A few redundancies, of course, but with the variation, she could handle that, and honestly, it wasn’t bad to have some overlap. Her team was a team, of course, but she also tended to work each pokemon as an individual as well. Tactics were, obviously, something she kept in mind, but she liked to make sure each of her pokemon could hold their own in one way or another. That didn’t mean she didn’t like to have her basics covered, however…
Elle was a good possibility to cover the psychic/ghost/fairy range that she was clearly missing, and giving her some wise glasses would almost make up for losing her mega stone, but there was an alternative option, too. Sableye, a pokemon that she knew about, but, obviously, didn’t currently have. She could feel Elle shift beside her, and felt disappointment creep into the back of her mind – Elle’s, not her own – but she ignored it. If Jolteon could ‘understand’, so could Elle, and she knew the gardevoir well enough to know that she was more emotional than she ought to be at times. And that she would listen to reason. So she wasn’t going to dismiss the idea just because. Sableye had more defenses, and a huge range of attacks, both physical and special. Honestly… it was a sound choice. She glanced back at Elle, who was avoiding her gaze, apparently a little embarrassed at her initial reaction. She would have to talk to her later.
For now, it seemed most of her pokemon were finishing up, so she should probably prepare to head out for the gym.

Once her pokemon were finished eating, Ajicka began collecting her things. With this new plan in mind, though, she had to admit… she was ready to be done with Sinnoh. She wasn’t going to leave the job half finished, though. She could probably use Houndoom, Venusaur, maybe Deino, If she needed to… she could probably pull in Metagross a little early, and hell, even Joltik, but she… should be good with Metagross as back up.
She went to get her pokemon healed, then started making her way towards the gym, working through her strategy as she went. She had already switched out her pokemon, and sent a few to the box for now. She... really needed to figure out what she was going to do with most of them... but that was an irritation to be dealt with later. For now, she wanted to get some of these gyms out of the way... Once she rushed them, she'd handle... well at least some of the other stuff.
Heading into the gym, she settled on her strategy, and with her hand on her belt, challenged the gym leader. She was ready for this, even with, as she was informed, her stronger pokemon bound down to a lower level, to keep the challenge alive. Hell, if anything... that made the battle better.

That battle had certainly felt like a workout, even though Fantina herself had been standing still. "Ohohoh! You are so fantastically strong.... I know now why I have lost." She smiled, motioning to one of her attendees to hand Ajicka her prizes. "I hope the battle was enjoyable for you at least. Please, take these as a token of my appreciation for such a show." She smiled graciously. "Now if you will excusez-moi, I need to go prepare for a contest~ Ta ta!" With a wave and a flourish, Fantina disappeared into a back room to spruce up and exit the building.

Hearthome was as glamorous as Scarlett remembered. It certainly seemed like an odd place to put a ghost type gym though. Scarlett didn't waste time heading straight for the gym, feeling pretty well prepared now that she'd trained some of her dark types up. Between Vandal, Luna, and Damien, she was certainly secured on the type advantage front, but type matchups weren't everything, especially at this stage of the game. Scarlett wasn't so dense to notice that the gym leaders were getting tougher and craftier with their strategies and pokemon. After all, her overconfidence in Pearl's abilities nearly cost her the heat badge from Flannery. Then again, she'd also sent Vandal in to take care of the gym battle for her while she relaxed in the hot springs.
Well..... Whatever. She didn't have the distraction of tourist traps or egg hunts to worry about this time. She could put her full focus on kicking Fantina's a**, then she'd be one step closer to catching up to Zak in badges.
Once she'd entered the gym, gone up the spooky elevator, and worked around the dimly glowing duskull statues, Scarlett was able to reach and challenge Fantina. Things looked great for a while with Damien at her side. Fantina had tried all sorts of clever tactics that just ended up falling flat, either because Damien was the luckiest pooch in the world, or he was a lot more talented than he let on due to his lax nature. Either way, Scarlett was pleased. First she'd tried having her Drifblim shrink in size to be too small for Damien to hit, but the hound quickly snatched the balloon pokemon in his jaws and made quick work of it with some well placed bites.
Then, Fantina's gengar tried confusing Damien, but it was ineffective. However, it did manage to limit Damien's bite attack with some kind of curse, which Scarlett wouldn't take notice of the effects until after their time ran out in a fight with Fantina's mismagius. Luckily they'd already weakened the ghost enough to knock it out with some blasts of Damien's inferno attack, but after the mismagius was knocked out, Scarlett traded Damien for Vandal so he could face Fantina's banette. Though Vandal was one of Scarlett's weaker pokemon, their strategic combo of using swagger and foul play helped turn tables to their advantage. It worked well enough to knock the banette out, but with Vandal's stamina, Scarlett knew he wouldn't last against another pokemon. Thankfully they just needed to take out one more, a dusknoir.
Figuring it couldn't be too hard, Scarlett sent Damien out again, planning to whittle the ghosts health away with burns from Damien's inferno. Boy was she wrong. Out of nowhere the dusknoir flung rocks Damien's way, something neither Scarlett nor Damien had seen coming. The houndoom flinched in surprise, allowing an opening for another flurry of rocks to finish the job. Now Scarlett was pissed, sending Luna out as a last resort. Of course, the avalanche of rocks stunned her as well, but she quickly got over it. Not as surprised the second time around, Luna pulled herself together and howled. Her enormous shadow rose up from behind her and grinned menacingly as it surged it's shadowy tails forward, latching onto the dusknoir. While the scene might have appeared terrifying at first, it quickly devolved into something more childish as Luna repeatedly had the dusknoir hit itself in the face with Luna tilting her head curiously and innocently, as if she didn't know why the dusknoir would hit itself.
After getting through another flurry of rocks, Luna tried to puppet the ghost again, only for the dusknoir to inflate it's presence and glare at Luna, pressuring her to use a different move or face it's wrath. So instead, Luna retreated into the shadows with a cackle, darting here and there before emerging from the dusknoir's own shadow and tackling it to the ground, trampling it playfully before returning to Scarlett's side. The battle continued much like this, the dusknoir keeping up it's hail of stones, occasionally surprising Luna into flinching, but she would always retaliate with another fox trick or another move. Unfortunately every flinch she made added up, and eventually Scarlett was forced to heal her with a sitrus berry when she was looking a little worse for the wear. However, in the end Scarlett won the battle, knocking the dusknoir out for good.

That Zoroark's tricks reminded her of some of her own, though Scarlett's tricks had proved much more effective this battle. Ah, but that was the nature of the business! Some days you are not the star of the show. "Your strategies were a delight to battle against, merci, merci~!" Fantina handed over Scarlett's badge and the TM Shadow Claw. "And now I bid you adieu," she said before returning to the inner workings of the gym.

Scarlett couldn't help but hope Fantina didn't think they looked too much alike. The woman had a nice body and sense of fashion, sure, but Arceus, that hair. Scarlett couldn't get over it. She supposed it was some coordinating thing, since she'd heard Fantina liked to go to contests here with her drifblim and the x shape of her hair matched it's mouth, but.... Scarlett shook her head and forced a smile, trying to be amicable towards the Kalosian lady since she was pouring compliments over her. "Merci." She insisted politely, taking her spoils. She did feel pride in her ability to use Vandal's strategy. She could have shown Damien off more too if he hadn't been pummeled by that rock slide out of nowhere, but it didn't matter now. She'd won, she'd earned Fantina's respect, and now she could move on. The question was where to move on to.
She did have all of Kalos to explore for badges, but she also had unfinished business in the Solaceon Ruins to attend to. Given that she was already in Sinnoh, Scarlett figured she best head towards the ruins for now, but first she stopped by the pokemon center. She needed to get her team healed back up from the gym battle, but she also needed to grab her exeggcute out of the PC, recalling the reason she had left the ruins last time, and how she'd been sidetracked on this whole adventurous egg hunt in the first place. The unown had the audacity to thrust her out of the ruins and then the walled her up, but with her bomb squad now she was prepared, and left the moment all of her pokemon were healed and ready to go.

It was a good thing Golurk was so huge. It made it slightly less awkward for Jay to find himself hoisted up onto it's shoulders, and clinging hard to it's head and shoulder chip as it rocketed through the air. He couldn't see what happened, but he could hear it, and Ralward later conveyed a general idea that the pokemon basically turned into a rocket itself, to propel them into the air. Ralward had found his own place to hold on, and Jay had recalled the rest, but he was just about 100% sure he was going to fall through most of the ride, and wasn't sure the ralts had made it until they landed, and he heard him hop onto the ground. "I ain't never doin' that again. No offense," he muttered, adding the last bit to the pokemon as he stumbled and got his footing. Okay so... he wasn't afraid of heights, per se, but being off the solid ground was never comfortable. It was hard to tell how far he'd fall without listening for echoes, after all, and traveling that fast was just....
Ugh.
But he straightened up and listened, his eyes closed as he listened around, and from what he could hear... they'd at least reached their destination.

Turning his head, he listened for Ralward, and went still once he was pretty sure he'd located the ralts dusting him off a little ways off. Or, he assumed that was what he was doing, from the sound of it. "Hey Rawly, mind textin' Al back t'let 'er know we're here, 'n that we'll go grab... PJ, was it?" he asked. Ralward stopped dusting himself off and turned. 'Of course, Jay,' he replied, shuffling over, and waiting for the man to hold out the communicator again, before taking it, 'Would you also like me to convey Sebastian's text so we may reply to him as well?' he queried, starting a response to Jacque's sister. The ginger grinned lopsidedly. "Hell yeah," he replied. He missed Sebs, honestly. He knew things were... a little off at the moment, but he still missed him. He wasn't really sure it was a good time to push getting back together, though...

As he made his way, Jay listened to assure that Ralward was following along, and recalled Golurk for simplicity, for the time being. He clicked his tongue regularly, trying to get an impression of things and where stuff was, but tripped over his feet a few times. Was he getting clumsy? Or was he just used to a pokemon on his shoulder giving him an impression of things, by chirping and getting him more regular echoes? Either way, he tried to locate the pokecenter, tuning in as Ralward reported Sebastian's text.
'He says "No, not really. I’m heading home to be honest, but I guess we could later or something if he wants. And ah, that makes sense then. Be careful. It’s okay, it’s funny honestly. I don’t think you need to go through the trouble though, I can imagine it on my own."' There was a pause, before Rawly clarified, '... I had been attempting to convey your accent.' Jay quirked a brow and frowned slightly, but seemed to let that go. "Alright then. Mind sendin' him a response?" he asked back, and though he couldn't see it, the Ralts nodded, and started typing.

With messages sent (and a short "YAY! Let me know when you first compete with him!" response from Al), Jay headed into the pokecenter, feeling a bit tired as he trudged in. He headed for the desk, clicking his tongue warily to get an impression. Honestly, he had never been self-conscious about this, just making a sound in public, though he did get a few looks. It helped that his eyes were closed the whole time he walked. After a quick talk with Nurse Joy, he was actually able to receive the pokemon Al had mentioned, and paused before requesting a room. He needed to take a nap; everything that had just happened, everything at Mt. Pyre, with the portal, to flying for the first time. But, he wanted to at least greet his new pokemon first.... even if he felt like just falling onto the bed and falling asleep.
Shouldering his way into the room, he let go of the door knob and kicked the door behind him, clicking his tongue again with Ralward trailing behind him. He got a general impression of the area, before settling in against one fo the walls and sliding down to sit on the ground. He tossed the pokeball up, clicking his tongue again to get an idea of where the pokemon was. Ralward watched the growlithe appear, shake his head, and look around curiously. "Howdy," Jay greeted warily. Rawly considered greeting him as well, but before he could, the pokemon stepped forward and spoke, and he quickly tried to translate for him. "Do you do contests?" Jay raised his eyebrows and reached up, pulling his hat off and running a hand back through his hair. "Sorta. I gotta pok'mon who's perty int'rested in 'em, figger I'd let her take a swing at 'em. I ain't much help though," he added, grinning lazily as he rested his head back, eyes still closed. 'Jay is blind,' Ralward explained simply, separate from the conversation including Jay, to the curious growlithe. The pokemon blinked, and then looked thoughtful. After a moment, he looked up again, ears and tail perked up with interest. "But.... you let them do contests? You'd help?"

Jay was starting to think it might have been better for him to put this off till the next day, but rested his head back and propped a leg up to rest his arm over his knee. "Mm, yeah. O' course. Don' hurt me none, even if I gotta spend some money fer y'alls equipment 'n all. Don' mind helpin' out, if it's somethin' yer passionate about," he replied with a yawn. Ralward stared at him a moment, before turning towards the growlithe. 'It's been a very long day for us. I think Jay needs to fall asleep, however--' The psychic fairy cut himself off and both turned as the faint sound of snoring could be heard. Ralward sighed. 'However, many of us have not had dinner yet. If you would like, you may accompany me downstairs, and we can discuss contests, and determine your role in our team,' he finished, turning back to PJ. The growlithe's faintly wagging tail slowed a bit, but didn't stop moving as he looked back at the pokemon. His role.... that sounded pretty fixated. Pretty official. Maybe this guy was a lot more organized than his lackadaisical way of speaking suggested.... But food did sound good.

✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ Susan and Golurk
The battle that had occurred on the side of Mt. Coronet was by far the most intense fight that Dallas Tucker had ever been a part of. And he had been in some really, really intense fights. By the time things were all said and done, Dallas had fought off three soldiers with his trusty bat (which now had a few very clear gashes in its aluminum body), and had witnessed as the giant graffiti statue flung people around left and right. Susan proved to be an able fighter, blasting moon beams at anyone that tried to flank her two human friends. But as things got hairier and an escape route was found, Dallas had joined Tamara in booking it out of there. Now, they were on the Hearthome side of the mountain, and the statue had blocked off the tunnel with mounds of dirt and gravel.
"THIS ONE'S HUMAN IS NOW SECURE." it announced. Dallas found a comfortable enough spot in the dirt to plop down and catch his breath. "Holy s**t! That was one helluva throwdown!" His tracksuit was ruined now; when his jacket had gotten snagged up during the bout, he just ripped it off of him and fought bare-chested. His hair was greasy with sweat, and he had ample amount of dirt on his face. Susan (who miraculously came out of the incident unscathed) came around with the dufflebag, which she had stuffed with both Tamara's and Dallas' pokeballs during the fight. Susan help, Susan help, Susan is the bestest help! She pointed up at the statue Golurk bestest help too! Dallas cocked an eyebrow and looked up at the Golurk. "So that's what you are? Well, thanks, my dude." Golurk loomed over its master and spoke. "NO THANKS NECESSARY FOR THIS ONE, MASTER DALPHA." That got a smile out of Dallas, and he reminded himself that he'd need to give him a good nickname, like The Bouncer or Gigantor or something. But first, he had something else on his mind.
Dallas hoisted himself up and went over to Tamara, but instead of s**t-eating grin that shouted "Well, well, well! Look who just saved your a**!", he had a stern frown with furrowed brows. "Look, as the guy that's usually the one that brings trouble, I'm a little caught off guard by all of this s**t. And on top of that, I got stabbed." Dallas finally moved his hand from his side, where there was a fresh stab wound that, while not deep or life-threatening, hurt like a son of a b***h. "Yeah, and I don't get stabbed for anybody without know what the hell's going on. So, why don't you lay it all out for me, princess?"

With the help of their unknocked out Pokemon and a few additional help, the two humans managed to escape from the clutches of Ten and his small group of soldiers. Once they were outside, Temperance caught her breath not to far from the dirt and gravel pile that the Golurk had made. Din, Azalev and even the Kingdra were circled around her, and for once in such a long time, she appeared completely freaked out, eyes wide but not focused on anything in particular. Despite her training with blades, she wasn't entirely unscathed herself. A few cuts and semi-deep gashes covered her body.. her clothes also had seen better days, and her hair, at some point during the bout had come loose from it's pony; falling to either side of her head in a dirty, sweaty mess.
When she finally heard through her own silent thoughts the blonde turned to face Dallas. She, for a moment appeared scared... but then her gaze shifted back to the ground. "Temperance." She replied. "My name is Princess Temperance Leviette Amarantha." Biting her lip for a moment she then turned to face Dallas eye-to-eye. "That was... Those people are members of the militia my uncle had gathered. Dallas... I am from the bottom of my being sorry. I had not expected them to find me so quickly... least of all to get you involved." Her gaze caught his stab wound. "We should treat our wounds... I fear I shouldn't involve you any longer, but if you have any questions... I feel I can't deny you answers." How could she? Dallas had every option to just leave her to the wolves; but he stayed, he fought at her side. Answers was the least of what she owed him now.

Ralward took the initiative of switching around Jay's team as well, too, while they went down for food for everyone. "Have you ever battled before?" Ralward asked casually, as he and PJ made their way from the PC, to the cafeteria. He had brought Jay's pokeballs with them, which was impressive given his small size, and the two helped to release the pokemon once the food was gathered. "No, not really," PJ answered, watching the other pokemon, before turning to his own food, "I mean I kinda fended off some wild pokemon when I was wanderin' but never really battled or anything. It's not my kinda thing." He plopped down and started chewing, but only swallowed one bit before picking up his own conversation topic.
"Do you really think he'll let me do contests?" he asked, looking curiously, almost intensely, over at the Ralts. Ralward paused, turning his head slightly in PJ's direction, and hesitated in lifting some food to his mouth. He was quiet a long moment, before finally answering. "Yes, he will. Jay has no habit of not keeping his word. He won't be of much help, but he will certainly assist you in achieving that goal," he replied simply, before resuming his meal. PJ's tail wagged as he took another bite and chewed contemplatively, thinking that over and looking at Ralward with a considerate expression. He swallowed, then spoke again. "Have you ever done contests?" he queried.
