Did Autumn know where they were going?

Not a clue.

All he knew was that they were getting away.

It wasn't until they reached just inside the forest's edge, breath ragged, that he let go of Pearl's hand and let himself fall down for a rest. He looked at her, finally calming down, before looking up and around at their new surroundings.

"Where's the beach...?"

From all the fun she had been having with her sister and new friend boogying around the dance floor to the irresistibly-catchy sound of the lute, it all seemed to come to a sudden halt as the lights cut off and they were led outside.

To a world of literal hell.

Looking immediately to her sister, they held the kind of silent, subtle conversation only twins could communicate, the sisters deciding on their own course of action in seemingly moments. Together they bolted towards the forest, Aisha turning on her heels to grab La'eohn's hand and drag him with them as they did so. The distance seemed endless, but in enough time they were at the forest and running though the lightly-marked trails.

"There's a village here, right?!" she called ahead to her sister leading the way as she followed close behind.

When they arrived, she slowed and finally released her grip on La'eohn's wrist to cross her arms and look ahead skeptically. Narrowing her eyes, she looked closely at the group of bat-pae congragated ahead.

Is that...

"...a cage?!"

Saira looked down in time to see her male taking off that silly outerwear (and was that padding?!), surprised, curious even as to what he was doing. Did he really think to get into the fight with her? Surely there was no need for that, with how weak he was...

Unsurprisingly, he was knocked over soon enough.

Filled with an unusual combination of laughter and being upset, she swooped down and knocked over a small group of bat-pae that had been closing down, flashing her silly male a smile in the process.

Monroe was swatting her hands wildly, in the most girlish of manner. It was so brave of Gray trying to protect her and help her, but as he defended her, she could see him getting attacked as well. "Gray! Behind you." He needed him to protect himself, or else he wasn't going to be able to help her. She could at least ward off the creature with her hands just a little bit.

"We need to get out of here." Her voice sounded lie she was over-exerted. She wasn't a fighter though, and there was little she could do to protect herself, and it was clear that Gray could not protect both of them at the same time as much as he tried. Monroe continued to swat at the relentless creature, looking at the jungle and the ocean again, they both looked hellish, but it had to be better than this hell that they were in right now.

Blind as a bat, Nighthawk looked around as she was pushed forward with the crowd. There were sounds of calm, sounds of panic, but her own reaction was one of confusion. Why was this occurring?

That confusion persisted when outside.

Turning to look around, she flexed her wings behind her, preparing for her flight away. She wouldn't be strong enough to fight them off and would, thus, only get in the way as she always did. It had been like that the year prior as well. In a moment, though, another of her kind appeared before her, a vibrant display of reds that caused Nighthawk's eyes to widen and for her to take a step back.

Was she... protecting her...?

Why...?

Turning around to the sound of wings from behind, her eyes narrowed and she growled with an attempt at fierceness, the act causing those bats nearby to cower before turning away, no fighting necessary.

Offering her a thumbs up, he turned around once more and sidestepping a divebombing bat. He didn't even pause, looking down it with more an exasperated than fearful expression. They moved by taking small steps, whereby he would walk forward and then wait for her to come near and taking the most efficient round to the water's edge.

At least until he saw the creatures starting to come out.

Then he was all out of that idea.

Glancing over to the parental units, he caught sight of a pair of stray arrows tag them and disappear, his hand reaching up to slap himself in the face. Of course this would happen now. Looking back at Keri, he called out to her, "Keep away from the water! You should be relatively safer here" At that he dashed off to help the various pae struggling out in the water.

Despite the familiar voice he should have recognized, everything seemed to occur in silence around him. Vision blurring, feeling numbing save for the deafening beating of his heart.

It wasn't until she had physically grabbed him that he turned his head to look at her, his eyes wide and tears visible on their edges. Opening his mouth, he was unable to respond to her and merely blinked at her.

He didn't know what to do. Where to go. Nothing looked correct. Nothing save for her. He'd likely do anything she asked of him right now.

Frowning, Krayyven's attempts at trying to get the suckers to become her minions was proving.... futile. Slashing at one more with her claws, she paused to run her tongue across her claws and spat out a bit of blood.

Suddenly they all seemed to turn towards her direction.

Pausing, Krayyven turned and glanced over her shoulder to see what they were looking at before it hit her. "Oh... Oh you wanna rumble do ya? Let's go then bat freaks." she laughed, flapping her wings and gesturing the midgets forward.

It was only in her rush to knock some more brats on the head did she notice the being in the cage. Oh great, was she supposed to save it too? Uhg. She came to this party to relax! Not be made to work! And to be worse she was now probably going to have ruffled feathers by the time she ever found the love of her life again!

As much as Tika wanted to continue her wrestle with Pelagious, there was quite a lot of obstacles standing in her way. She pushed away bat after bat, but they were never ending. The tiki cat couldn't figure out why they were still flying at her. Then she saw him, the big blue pae, throwing another bat pae at her. It was his fault! Tika jumped up, dodging left and right past flying bat pae, charging at Pelagious.

Nothing was going to get in the way of her and Pelagious now. Tika lept at Pelagious, clinging to his back like a backpack.

Being carried around like a potato sack and dropped woke Amy back up. She rubbed her head as she sat up slowly, the ground...Didn't feel like the ground? Clearly her eyes were bloodshot because everything was just red and black! As her eyes focused...It didn't change. Did she have that much to drink? "Momo? Am I still dreaming? This...This looks like a nightmare..." Her voice trailed off as something sticky grabbed her leg.

Her eyes flew open as some sorta...Black monster grabbed her leg, slowly lugging itself at her. "OH HELL NO!" The Shetani started to shove what she thought was this things head away, only for her hands to be engulfed in the black tar like substance. "GET AWAY FROM ME!" She shrieked as she struggled to pull her hands away and from this...Monster.

She finally managed to pull away, black tar like stringed itself on the ground from the monster glob to herself. Her blue skin was covered in black. "Momo what's going on? What happened? Neli? Where's my sister? CARNELIAN!"

At last Harmon got the lantern up to snuff, and he was most grateful for the extra illumination. It was still night after all, and the tinge of red from the sky did not help.

It was almost amusing. Pae would willingly put themselves in potential danger for these parties.

All things considering, she put herself in potential danger to spend time with the God of Harmony. The fae knew as well as everyone how these parties went. She'd been going for years. But it was worth it for even a few moments with Harmonia. "I'd fight next to you any day." She spoke softly before slicing into another bat pae. She then moved to put her back against his. They'd cover each others blind spot of their behinds. "As good as a theory as I could come up with. And I wouldn't be surprised if this had something to do with our new guests with Adonis."

Her suggestion of course was the best option. The village where they could hide in the tiki huts! He nodded. "The village it is!" He took her hand as they ran towards the village.

Of course though, when they arrived it was overrun. But it seemed like they were mostly balled up in one area. He strained to see what it was. Pae. Caged pae. "Oh no." They had to help them! He didn't know any of those pae of course, but obviously the bat pae didn't like them. And the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Or they could save their own skin by fleeing. He swallowed hard. "We...we should help them. Right?" He looked back at his gorgeous companion. Of course though, if she thought better that was obviously the better choice.

He turned when she shouted, barely slicing in time to down the creature before it bit into him. By now he was panting, quickly tiring out. He didn't know how to fight! The angel turned back around to nod in agreement. She was right. Staying here wouldn't do either of them any good, he couldn't keep this up. So with a grunt, he scooped her up from the ground and took off.

This was SUPPOSED to be her awesome vacation, and these bat pae were really putting a damper on that!

She didn't know what was wrong with Wellspring, but she didn't have time to ask. When he didn't speak after opening his mouth, she wasted no additional precious seconds on waiting for words that might never come. "Come on!" They were sitting ducks out there in the open, and neither of them seemed up for a fight. The wilwarin turned and started running off towards the forest, gently but firmly pulling the clawed male behind her. They could hide in the Jungle. Not as easily spotted as on the beach or there. So that was where she headed.

After this was all done and over with, she better get a kiss out of it!!

Aquos found himself pushed outside with the rest of the group and lost sight of his princess charming. He frowned as heart broke. Where'd she go? Why was everything dark? More importantly what was going on outside?

He was just stunned. This place was just...Twisted. Something from his deepest nightmare. He could barely process what happening before BATS! Four or five had swarmed him, pulling on his hair and plucking a few feathers from his wings. "Hey no bad shoo!" He did his best to flap his own wings to scare the little buggers off but they showed no fear. He covered his face in his arms to protect himself and with a lucky arm bat outward he managed to knock one of the bats out of the air.

That just made it's buddies angry.

Aquos braced himself for round two as the little buggers had little pointy teeth! They HURT! "Ow ow ow fine. I don't think I'm flying in this anyways!" With that he wrapped his large wings around himself and his feathers quickly hardened. His little bat entourage became confused as suddenly biting the colourful feathers really really hurt!

Aquos sat down, letting his wings and back take the punishment. Hopefully they'd get bored of him soon. Hopefully.

"Good thinking," called Paloma as she punted a bat-pae back into the sky. "C'mon!" She grabbed Lagoon's hand and ran with her in the other direction, toward the jungle.

She was still somewhat baffled that, even in the heat of battle and the terror of the landscape, she still found overwhelming in her heart the love for Lagoon. It was a nice feeling; feeling like you had something to fight for.

They came to a fork in the path. Paloma could see huts in the distance down one path--they could take shelter there. "This way!" she said. Other party guests were running in all directions; it was chaos. If she could just keep her head, they'd be fine.

Iordanes held Serendipity close to him when the lights went out. He'd been about to go find an alcove, but maybe this would work, he thought with a smirk. However, something gave him a creepy-crawly feeling on the back of his neck, like he was being watched even in the darkness. This sobered him somewhat, and his hold on Serendipity became one of protectiveness.

On Mother's orders, he began to herd all the partygoers outside, all the while keeping Serendipity close. As they found themselves out of the darkness, he couldn't believe his eyes. What was going on?!

It didn't take long before they were being attacked. By....bat-creatures? They looked vaguely Pae-like, but with horrible wings and teeth. Amid the screams of the crowd as they were dive-bombed by the awful creatures, Iordanes turned to Serendipity--"Head for the trees!" he called to her. The tall trees in the jungle would give them some cover. He ran behind her, pinging arrows at the attackers as he did. He couldn't help but smirk as they changed genders and fell back, confused.

The night had been full of surprises, the most surprising being the rekindling happening between her and Tocino. He seemed to calm and in control now, it was an amazing growth. She was sure he was about to kiss her, and felt her heart flutter at the thought of it. Then the lights went out.

As she and Tocino were led outside, she felt a p***k on her foot, like she'd stepped on something sharp. Reaching down, she brushed at the bottom of her foot, but felt nothing. As they got to the doors, she started feeling strange, like she needed to put the next Pae she saw in a head lock.

She stepped out from the building and gasped as the bat things were upon them, biting and clawing. She watched one hovering about 20 yards from her, and the urge just HIT her. It was as if a light switch had gone off in her brain, and as Tocino dropped her hand and reverted back to his screaming she launched herself down the stairs, screaming, and tackled the offending bat. She grappled it like a wild animal, laughing as they both rolled around. Oh this was a surprising amount of fun!

The bat didn't seem to think as much fun though, as it was screeching and clawing frantically to get out from under the fae that had knocked it down. It finally managed to claw it's way out from under her, and took off into the trees.

Navi scrambled to her feet, chasing in pursue after, but the bat was too fast and she lost it as she entered the jungle as well. She huffed, then followed down the path and ended up wondering into the tiki village. Her eyes lit up as she saw more, and with a mighty roar she charged at the nearest ones and body slammed herself into one, grappling with it.

Pearl slumped against a tree when they finally stopped, her breath coming in heavy. She was not accustomed to this level of activity! She was a fairly lounge-y kind of sprite. "I dunno," she said between breaths. She looked around, trying to find anything even kind of familiar.

"What happened out there?" she wondered aloud. Things seemed to be a little calmer here, though she still saw other people running by. At least the trees seemed to have slowed down...whatever the things were that were attacking from the sky. She hadn't actually gotten a good look.

Pearl itched her shoulder. She could feel her skin begin to dry out. Mother would be even more uncomfortable....

Wait, where was Mother?

"Autumn...." she started, trying not to let the panic show through in her voice. "Where are our parents?" She bit her lip and looked around more. Nobody running by looked familiar.

Zhixuan smiled a feral smile at her little hen's growl. Petite but fierce! Zhixuan liked that. She wasn't normally suited for battle (well, she was suited for fighting, she just preferred to not have to), but she had to admit that the feel of her claws in enemy flesh and the sounds of their anguished screeches made her heart pound in her breast and it was wholly satisfying.

"Still OK back there, little one?" she called behind her. It hadn't escaped her that her hen was smaller and weaker than would be expected of their kind, and squinted to see. Perhaps, then, Zhixuan's demonstration of power would be all the more impressive.
