Poe felt the tug in the opposite direction, and slowed to a stop. Oh. Yeah. He was somewhat dazed feeling, all the bright colors and lights and the camera that flashed in his face and blinded him momentarily. It was... uncomfortable here. He wasn't sure he wasn't--

Wander. "It's uh, kinda loud, yeah. So maybe we can just... hang out here? Away from the sounds?" Couldn't even lean on all these tents, which he desperately wanted to do. Find somewhere... dark. He rubbed his fingers on Wander's hands idly instead, pulling his other hand close to his chest, clenching it. So he'd decided to stay on the ground, in the end. Because that's where Sonnie and Wander, and all the children, would be. And they'd need him more. "We can't go back yet though, we, uh, we need to be here right? Froggy?" he added, remembering to be a good boy and use the disguise names for his younger friends.

Sonnie bounced up and down in his newly improved Froggy Friend suit. Sure, they had to take his photo with the mask off, and he didn't like that, but he was glad they let him wear it at all. He was much more at ease like this. In fact, he was actually very excited. It was nervous excitement, sure, but it wasn't fear. And maybe the lights and the screaming were a bit too high energy for him, but he wasn't as upset as his two companions.

Sonnie nodded emphatically at Poe's question. He squeezed his hand, triggering a button that emitted a tiny ribbit. He turned his head to Wander and raised a fist in the air. They needed to be strong!

She couldn't get away. Or, no one was letting her. Probably for the best, but she was still upset. Stressed out. If it was going to be like this all the time, she might not be able to handle it. Her first mission, and it was already a rough one.

And she was frustrated, mainly at herself, because she knew other kids were loud but it bothered her real bad anyway. And she couldn't stop them or herself! "I-I know w-we c-can't go back... B-but I-I-I don't w-want t-to b-be ar-round th-th-this, either..." she responded, a little snappy.

Wander looked at Sonnie, and his arm thrust. But she couldn't see his face. Just a costume with Sonnie in there, somewhere. Which was fine, but... It did feel a little bit like a giant puppet he was hiding behind.

She just sighed at him and sat on the ground, folding her knees and laying her head on top of them. Wander put out a hand and started snapping her fingers, watching her small fireworks. A distraction. She was here, she was doing what she was supposed to, but she couldn't pretend right now.

Poe pulled his arms closer to his body, hands curled into fists. He clenched them, until the knuckles on his right hand went white. He wasn't very good with this sort of thing, and he didn't know what he was supposed to do. But, he wanted to, didn't he? He wanted to help, and make it better.

"We, we can look for uh, some other... place. Somewhere else." He unclenched his robotic hand and pulled down on his goggles, letting the darkness cover his eyes. A minor relief. He glanced at Sonnie, his funny antics. It seemed very positive, whatever he was signaling!

The greenblood knelt by Wander. He reached his hand out tentatively, glancing at the sparking. Poe didn't touch her. "I guess, you could say, wow, this place is a little.... in-tents, huh?" he said, slowly smiling at his own joke. "It's uh. Really bad for me too though, actually. Um."

Well this seems like an excitable troll, definitely a good one if they're just as mad about not going into space as he was. Knetic shakes Makkah's hand vigorously, beaming brightly. "Never heard of ya!" Blunt as always, he absolutely is.

Still he watches her pop her nonexistent collar and decides once more this is a troll worth knowing. Not just himself but Mihail as well. He jabs Mihail in the ribs with his elbow lightly, hoping he'll agree to make a friend.

"If we don't get to touch a rocket then I'm going hive. I came for space, not some weird grub special about the military." His pout returns briefly. "You think we can sneak aboard a craft before launch~?" It was a shifty tactic and they would probably get caught but the idea of actually going to space was enough to make Knetic lose any care in the world about the consequences.

Lil Mak... Mihail squinted a little as he tried to recall... He heard some of the stuff about the contest the Empress had been throwing - after all it was a good thing to keep up with what she was doing - but he hadn't actually watched past the first TV special. Aligaa decided it was worthless. "Nnno... Ha-haven't really heard.. of you." He shook his head with a slight shrug. And then rubbed where Knetic had just jabbed him, eugh. He was bony and it hurt.

"Kne--Knetic, we ca-ca-can't sneak off. What-what if we get caught? The-they'll kick us out, for su-sure. Then we won't be-be-be- uh, be able to build the docks." He shook his head, doing his best to sound serious but... he'd probably end up doing whatever Knetic wanted to do. "Maybe when, uh, when they land, we can touch one?"

Selune Maidaz Lunara Zediam
0-25% for Alpha 1A
3: After one of the demolition sites had been blown clean, you help return the leftover explosives. Some are labelled as duds and disposed of- you mislabel and sneak some working ones in there to nab later.

Selune was nervous about this one. Lying was not really part of her skill set. She would need to fix that if she was going to become a real rebel. They needed subterfuge, sneakiness, and all about spy-atude. Selune frowned and thought of Autumn, who was in training to be a spy, and an idol, and all sorts of amazing things. It made her feel a little bad. What was she really bringing to the table, the rebel table? Well... these explosives for one thing! How about that. Already sorta, kinda, helping a little maybe? Yeah! Selune tried to take it, tried to feel pride in it. She was helping. Like a flea trying to get a grasp on the world, the small, insignificant winged troll pushed the large, "duds" off to the side, making sure to write the little symbol on each one. It was a pretty great symbol, Selune had to admit. Who ever came up with that master piece should be totally proud of themselves and feel like a complete hero. It was amazing how some trolls were so creative and brilliant. Selune could only guess which one of her amazing sempai's did the design. It must have been a good one, one that sparkled in the afternoon light, the moon light dancing through their hair and the stars reflecting the universe in their eyes. It gave her renewed energy, renewed vigor, to do these suposidly illegal things for the good of her people, the good of the rebels, who were only trying to make life better. Sure, having no other side of the story meant that there was little to compare the rebel cause to, but Selune was sure that it was the right caouse, the right thing, the best thing, to do for all of troll kind.

The winged troll smiled and fluttered her wings as she put aside another "dud". She had to be careful tho! Cant just say they are all duds! That would maybe probably sorta lead to some bad things. Just skim a little off the top, dont drink the entire pot and expect to live through it. The military was sharp, they were in tip top condition and one had to be really craft to skim off their tops. Good thing Selune was totally sneaky... not. She hated having her wings all strapped down. It didnt feel good, and to boot, it made her a little worried. Sure her wings were more sturdy than say, a real moth's, but they were still not something to be reckless with. It scared her, to think about what could happen to her wings should they get hurt. They were a way to freedome, a way to a better life in the sky. If she lost them she didnt know what she would do with herself. Life would be empty and barren. Or at least, it would be grounded. Sure, she supposed the ground was not like, that bad, but it wasnt the air, it wasnt the sky. it wasnt true freedom. Selune thought that over as she moved one of the items over to the safe zone.

0-25% for Alpha 1A, Lightseekers
1. You’re in charge of mapping the various “landmark obstacles” that will need to be removed from the site.

It was exciting to be out and getting to work on things at last. Garand looked left and right at all the trolls milling about the fresh ground site at Alpha 1a, according to the map he'd done his best to memorize. There wasn't much of anything here yet, but this was just the planning process after all. He'd already been given a task to help with that and a little map of the area to mark as he went. 'Landmark obstacles' had a lot of possible meanings, and he was trying to be as thorough as possible about it without accidentally ordering the destruction of anything that might actually be good to keep in the environment. He was loathe to be responsible for the loss of any possible plant growth, for instance.

On top of that there was the matter of his other task. He'd paid the utmost attention as the space crew and Panili had gone over their instructions for their operation, and he had to remember to juggle the one task with the other as he kept the technical aspects the Lightseekers needed in mind as well. Maybe it was still a little early here, but the installation of the transmitters was too important not to be planning out as much as possible!

He just hoped he and Pan could be subtle enough about it, when the time came. The permit badge he'd been given was waiting in his pocket, but the warning about supervisors and the very uneasy feeling that maybe this wasn't entirely on the level were hard to shake off. Better to avoid questions at all. Better not to think it might hurt his future military career if he didn't. He was overthinking it probably, getting unnecessarily paranoid. There was a pat of a paw against his horn and Garand shook off those worries for the moment to glance over at his lusus.

Perched on his shoulder as always, Pan was looking at him very seriously. Ah, he'd noticed the worrying already. As soon as the realization struck, the squeaking began. Ducking his head to try (and fail) to conceal his small smile, the blueblood got back to squinting out across the landscape. Landmark obstacles, right? It was a simple enough job to map them and so he ought to be able to perform it very very well. Pan seemed to be agreeing with that sentiment, at least. He thought so anyway.

Tuning back into the mouse lusus' story as he walked, Garand idly marked another land feature that would probably be a problem. Something about the time he'd been caught in a sand storm and had to flee into a foreign burrow and tunnel through into a foreign ruin. He'd heard this one before. It didn't really apply here at all, did it? Or was he supposed to be inspired enough by the lusus' quick thinking to mimic it?

"Did that really happen?" This set off another set of squeaks. Garand had already turned his attention to his supervisor, handing over the map he'd made of the area. "This should be all the major obstacles to the operation."

      Ⅱ Autumn Vikare

Discretion did not exactly go hand in hand with fame.

Autumn had arrived early enough to acclimate the other trolls to her presence but every once in a while she still found other trolls' lookstubs following her every movement. She stood out. Even were it not for her popularity in the Superstar Authority competition or her recent charity stunt, she could never hide from the spotlight for too long. Her wings earned her too much attention, if only in passing. That said, Autumn was no quitter.

“Caterpal, I didn't know you could drive!” Autumn squealed with delight. Darting around the dashboard of a forklift, Caterpal managed to—haltingly—steer the machinery. The wheels turned the machine in a circle with sharp, jerking movements. “You're doing marvelous~!” She leaned over to the troll beside her. “Do you think you could lend him a frond? Perfect, thank you!” Pushing the troll hapless towards the forklift, Autumn slipped away through the crowd.

While her lusus captivated the warehouse workers' attention, Autumn made her way to the supply crates. Her eyes searched the labels, searching for anything that seemed interesting. She had no idea what kind of supplies Byakko needed for the movement but... anything would help. They could always decide what to do with it later. Finding a few likely looking boxes, Autumn pressed on a new address label. Abandoning her usual flowing script, she wrote in clear printed letters the number for the new address on each. The trolls in charge of delivery would be none the wiser.

After marking several boxes, she fluttered above the boxes to see whether Caterpal had managed the forklift any better. And to see if anyone had come looking for her.

In the middle of the throng the forklift jolted helplessly from side to side. Autumn covered her mouth with a hand to hide a smile. She almost felt pity for the troll she sent to tame her lusus. The bug did not take well to criticism.

7: You go to volunteer your help in any way possible, and somehow wind up mopping the load gaper block. Bummer.

Oh boy, things had gotten started. Apibom couldn't help but think that it looked like very controlled chaos at the beginning. Trolls were running around to and from, performing various tasks that were no doubt important. They hadn't been given a task yet- well, aside from the one Chiara had given them. That wasn't part of this mission, though. They couldn't just stand off to the side and do nothing - they were here to help! Here to do something New and Different and maybe find something about themself that they didn't know was there before. Clearly, they needed to go find a task to do.

After some searching they found a troll that seemed to be in charge and approached them for direction. It seemed that a few areas had a case of "too many hands on one task" while others were severely lacking - and so they were told to head to the maintenance closet and get some cleaning gear. Then go to the load gaper block. Great. They smiled regardless, and then turned to go find the cleaning supplies as instructed.

This was not what they wanted. Cleaning load gapers? When there was space stuff to be doing? This was the sort of thing they were trying to avoid doing. Not to mention, how were they supposed to help Chiara if they were stuck away from most of the other trolls?

Or, maybe... this was a good opportunity to keep an ear out. Everyone needed to use the load gapers eventually... and sometimes trolls gossiped when they thought no one important was around. They'd just have to keep an ear out for anything strange coming from any of the trolls Chiara had shown them - should they come in. With that in mind, they grabbed their cleaning supplies and headed off - determined to do a good job.

He'd wanted to stick with Etet to see if he could learn anything from the older troll, but as soon as things had gotten started Floren had been given a task. A task he did not want to have, considering that all the action was going to be happening somewhere else. At least, all the worthwhile action. Still, he was not going to question the troll that assigned him the task and would... do his best. Cleaning load gapers was important he supposed. Workers wouldn't want to use dirty facilities and that could just lead to problems later. Disgruntled trolls were more likely to get into accidents or fights with each other, after all.

But that didn't mean he was going to linger on the task longer than was necessary. As soon as he was done, he put his supplies away and immediately sought out a new task. A good one.

Thankfully the second task was much more interesting, albeit dangerous and would separate him from Skoli. There was no way his lusus could come above ground and follow him up there. Absolutely no way. He tapped at the ground four times, a signal to let Skoli know that he would be out of "sight" for a while and not to worry. Skoli would worry anyway, but at least he'd tried to give his lusus some warning.

That accomplished, he readjusted his hairband, pulled up his sleeves, and then trotted over to the site where the construction crew was meeting. Scaffolding was an entirely new concept to him - but he wasn't about to let that discourage him. It was important- the building blocks for the...buildings... that would be around the site. If they messed this up, they'd be unsound! Utmost care was needed in this group.

Utmost care was difficult to provide with how heavy everything was, and how much noise was being made. Floren wondered several times if perhaps it'd be more beneficial for the team if he bowed out of this task - but in the end he refused to let the hard work and distracting sounds get the better of him. He was given a task, and he would complete it. Floren would not get a reputation for being a troll that quit when the going got tough, after all. Even if this task was... not really his forte.

As the scaffolding grew higher and higher, he couldn't help but admire the view below. Everyone seemed to be focused on their tasks. It was a true example of troll cooperation, each team working on their tasks in harmonious tandem to complete a shared goal. Exactly how things should be. He tried to see if he could spot Etet, but the other troll was not very easy to pick out among the moving mass below. Or maybe he just wasn't in a visible spot at the time. Ah well- he hoped his next task would allow him more freedom to shadow Etet.

Eventually they were called off the task. Floren carefully climbed down the maze of scaffolding, taking his time. Not only was it confusing, his arms and legs felt like lead and he wasn't keen on making a wrong step, then falling to his death (or severe injury). After what felt like a sweep he managed to get back on solid ground. All in all he felt accomplished - he'd done something new and, if he did say so himself, done it well. He just needed to find Skoli so they could go rest.

    Imbeciles. All of them.

Thankfully, Muerte Perist was no foolhardy troll. Thankfully, Muerte Perist was intelligent, and better than the swaths of grunts they had working on the ground. This was to say, Muerte was not keen on throwing himself into the line of manual labor, and instead thought himself clever for instead messing up the instructions on various supply boxes. Who would've thought? Muerte would.

But, the name of the game was camouflage, and Muerte knew this deep down. It wouldn't do good for him to loiter aimlessly when there was documents to fill out, time to account for, and... labor to prove was being done. Sure, he was stealthy in stature (seriously, he was small and, when he wanted to be, quiet), but the paperwork wouldn't say that. How the hell did it make it look like he was helping without really helping? Sure, if it came down to the wire, he could put in some real effort, but he didn't want to do that--what the hell?

Who left their goddamn lusus to operate machinery? Oh. Maybe he hadn't met the yellowblood personally, but he knew Autumn, recognized her at the very least. Was the lusus merely a distraction? Clever. Well, he supposed it was as good of a time as any to aide in the 'making this situation even more of a mess'.

"Oh please!." He entered the fray, as showy as ever, "You just have to know how to talk to the man. Can't you see you're all just making this situation more complicated than it has to be? Allow me." He turned to the renegade lusus driver, "Sir! Sir..."

What? He wasn't actually trying to help.

"I have to say, the lot of you have him quite riled. Just look at this. I can't even get close to the damn forklift." He sighed, almost wistfully, before throwing a quick glance at Autumn to see if she was done with... whatever she was doing, it was hard to tell from this distance (and with only one eye).

Site: Alpha 1A, Lightseekers, 500 words
6. Electrical wiring needs to be established; you ensure that nothing is amiss with your own work and that you don’t accidentally sabotage the space tower operation.
5. Sideways glances from the ground crew means that you have to retreat and try to install your tech later.
7. You’re tasked with hanging around the transmitters until they’re fully installed and covered with subtle hatches. If someone messes with these, that’s bad news.

Construction at the site was moving a whole lot faster than Garand had anticipated. It hadn't been long at all since he'd been asked to help mark landscape obstacles for removal, but the trolls at work had steamrolled through that and right into the building process without a break in between almost. The blueblood couldn't help but be impressed with their efficiency, especially considering how much of the work force was made up of young volunteers.

The work being so far along meant it was time to really get started on his own personal quest. Now was the time for figuring out the transmitters, just what he'd really been waiting for. Seeing electrical work beginning to get underway, he moved his way over and squatted down to take a look. It wasn't exactly his area of expertise, this particular kind of wiring, but he'd done enough mechanical work by now that it wasn't hard to grasp.

He worked at it there for some time, occasionally batting Pan away if the lusus looked likely to reach for a live wire. He was making good progress, and everything seemed to be in working order without diminishing the rest of the operation's resources. Was this a good place to start installing one of the transmitters? He couldn't imagine any better opportunity, honestly. Casually reaching for a transmitter he'd been given to install, he started figuring out the best way to work it into the wiring. It wouldn't be much more difficult, he could tell, but-

Pan gave a little squeak from his shoulder and Garand blinked out of the thought process, frowning. He'd had a good setup plotted out in his head, but now he was having trouble remembering what exactly it had been. Pan repeated the squeak and following it up with a barrage of them, this time managing to claim his attention in full. He had a bit of an audience now apparently, according to the mouse.

"The wiring here looks good." He said, not to anyone in particular as he stood and dusted off his jeans. He glanced around just as casually and saw the nearest ground crew workers turn back to their own work. Why had they been watching him? Whatever it was, it was clear he couldn't stay here with the transmitter without having to answer questions. He looked around again, this time to see what other work there was to be done, and caught sight of a few other Lightseekers further down.

He took a moment to adjust his gloves, giving Pan time to scurry back up to his shoulder, then moved in that direction, carefully avoiding any dangerous machinery or building processes where possible. They were full swing into the installation process here, they revealed, and with a nod he promised to stay close and keep attention off them while they worked. If anyone were to see the way the subtle hatches were being added, it could ruin things for the whole plan. He wanted these things to work.
