With those two sent to the Day Care, along with Gyarados, Ajicka switched Houndoom into her active party. She was still considering withdrawing another pokemon... but for now she'd wait. She had enough pokemon with her. She glanced briefly at Edge as this thought occurred to her, then moved away from the PC. She would probably need to remove Munchlax from her active party, too. He didn't exactly seem keen on training, and regardless of whatever he wanted and whatever benefits his ability might have, she needed to train torchic. Once she got out, maybe she would rearrange her party a bit, and put him back on the side lines.

Starting towards the door, Ajicka paused, and backtracked quickly to the PC. A few seconds later she was out the door again, tucking a pokeball away and resisting the urge to shove Edge off her shoulder as he made himself comfortable. Instead, she prepared to focus on a more important matter, on training. She needed to see if Jolteon wanted to do more battling before she retired -- not permanently, but to at least get a bit of a break -- and then she needed to figure out what her plan of action would be beyond that. Where the best place to train all of her pokemon would be, and such. Maybe she could look into trying to find a battle lower or something....

While arranging a few things, she shot an annoyed glance in Edge's direction. "So, just how long am I supposed to be babysitting you again?" she asked. Edge glowered back at her. 'I asked for and paid you for transport. To Unova or Kalos, if you recall,' he replied irritably. She frowned. Then narrowed her eyes. "Well we were in Unova, if you recall, and you decided not to leave, so..." Setting him with a very flat, very blunt stare, she made it quite clear she was neither amused nor particularly keen on the aspect of him doing that again. The pidgey shifted on her shoulder, glancing away. Evidently, he didn't have much of a retort to that. Why he was so resistant on giving her a more specific location when he clearly couldn't make the trip himself, she didn't know. At least his wing seemed to be doing better... he was certainly flying a lot more.

Ajicka rolled her eyes and moved to shove him off when it became apparent he didn't have a response to that. He squawked as he flailed and fell, catching himself, barely, and wincing a bit as he glared up at her. 'Bloody hell alright!' he snapped, fluffing up his feathers. 'I--' Very suddenly he stopped, looking past her. His eyes were wide, his feathers falling flat from their agitated state. She stared at him a moment, then finally moved, not sure she cared enough to bother following his gaze, but ultimately conceding the curiosity. Whatever it was, it was enough to shut him up, which was far, far more than anything she'd managed to do so far.

The kid muttered something else but Ajicka ignored it, instead folding her arms over her chest and looking at him. "Well why did you release him?" she asked. The kid looked at her incredulously. "Seriously?" he asked, gesturing at Edge, "Look at him! There was no way I was having something like... like that on my team!" Ajicka quirked an eyebrow, glancing at Edge, and then back at the boy. "What? A pidgey?" she replied dully. The kid gave an exaggerated roll of his eyes. "A girly, pink pidgey. I can't have that on my team!" he replied. Ajicka stared at him. Stared a long moment. "... You're a moron," she decided, "How a pokemon looks doesn't mean anything. My pokemon could probably destroy you regardless of how they looked." Of course they all looked completely fine, but that wasn't the point. Edge looked fine too, as far as she was concerned. Or at least... he did now.
"Tch, oh yeah?" the boy sneered, grabbing a pokeball. Ajicka pulled out Jolteon and Bayron's pokeballs, releasing them to either side of her. "Yeah," she stated, Bayron lifting himself up on one side, with Jolteon loosing sparks, ready for battle on her other. The kid twitched, then moved back slightly. "Fine! You keep it!" he snapped, quickly moving away, and then promptly storming off to join his friends. "I don't want--" But he was already gone.

Edge flew up to rest on her shoulder, but she held up a pokeball to him, giving him a look. Clearly displeased, he stared for a long moment, before lifting his head high, and raising a foot to hit the button. Puffing his chest out, he promptly disappeared inside, and she held the ball in her hand for a moment while it twitched, before dinging in success. Releasing him back to his perch, she tucked the ball away, brushing some of her hair back. "Come on, we can see if we can go buy an Exp Share for you," she remarked, heading inside. She looked around, making her way for the mart, and quickly purchasing the item to hand to him. If a bird could sneer, that was likely what Edge would be doing as he took it. 'Eugh... You'd think they'd at least have it be a bit more... wearable...' he thought, making her roll her eyes.
She paused as she heard a few trainers nearby discussing a... fair of some sort. A Ren Fair? Huh... She turned, listening a bit closer. From what they described, it seemed to be a lot like the Tanabata festival she'd been to before.... And that had come in a lot of use. Rubbing her hands together, she started out. She'd go find Jolteon... then maybe they'd check out this... 'Ren Fair'....

Ajicka headed out, but honestly, it wasn't that hard to find Jolteon. There were streaks of electricity coming from where she was training, and she could hear her as she battled. Ajicka smirked a bit. No surprise... Jolteon was a hard working pokemon. She always had been. She was motivated... and perhaps had a few more anger management issues than she gave away. She was at least better at controlling that than her trainer, though. Walking over, Ajicka wasn't too fazed to find hoards of pokemon either fleeing or unconscious. In fact, if anything, she smirked a bit. "You're at too much of an advantage for this place," she remarked, "Both type wise, and level wise." Jolteon turned to look at her trainer, nodding. Suddenly, as if on cue, Deoxys appeared.
'Your Jolteon is curious,' he observed, 'She does not speak through telepathy, but she is willing to be translated through it indirectly.' He looked down at Jolteon, who met his gaze. 'It is intriguing.' He lifted his gaze back to Ajicka. 'At any rate, however, she's found you are correct in that she has reached her potential. No longer is she gaining much experience from these battles. She admits it would likely be best if you used your attention on other pokemon.' Ajicka raised her eyebrows, then looked at Jolteon with a slight smile. "If it helps, I'm sure my family will let you keep up with your training. But, you've earned relaxing, too, Jolteon," she added, a bit more seriously. She knelt down to be level with the pokemon, her shoulders dropping a little as she looked at her, quiet a moment.
"... I know I've let you down sometimes, but you've helped me a lot," she said, "I hope you know I appreciate that..." Jolteon looked at Ajicka a long moment, then moved over-- and gave her face a little nuzzle. Ajicka stiffened, shoulders raising, before finally she relaxed, and carefully wrapped her arms around the pokemon. Neither were affectionate and neither were comfortable with the action-- but it was a mutual, disgruntled, accepted discomfort. They both quickly moved away and Ajicka straightened. "Come on. I'll let you retire once we get to the next town, alright?" she offered, pulling out Jolteon's pokeball. The electric pokemon nodded, before she was recalled, and Ajicka looked at Deoxys. The legendary read her mind, moving over-- and promptly teleporting them elsewhere.

Scarlett and Aegis soon landed in Pastoria City, and Scarlett hopped off of the Aegislash, allowing him to relax. It was hard to tell with stiff steel, but it was clear the trip had taken a toll on the possessed sword. "Thanks Aegis, I owe ya one." Scareltt gave a weary smile, patting the flat side of the sword before returning him to his pokeball and heading into the pokemon center. Her wrist buzzed with a message, probably a delayed one from Zak due to her prior lack of connection. She would check on it later, for now, she needed to get her pokemon to Nurse Joy so that they would be re-energized for her upcoming battle with Wake. Handing Nurse Joy Aero, Koga, Cypher, and Nala over, Scarlett moved to sit down on the cushioned seats of the lobby, feeling her body relax. It was nice to kick up her feet for a moment, though a magazine on the nearby table caught her eye. She picked it up and flipped through to the page indicated on the front, reading about a renaissance fair being hosted in Unova. It certainly looked like fun. Maybe it would be worth taking a look later, something like a nice reward to treat herself. Scarlett blinked. Speaking of rewards.... She pulled up the message from Zak, noting that it had been sent hours ago.
I'll take that as a good thing. A mystery is more fun, wouldn't you say? And perhaps.. it's about as 'common' as most 'common sense' is. But only idiots trust inherently. I suppose it's only common to people like us.

Scarlett had to take a moment to look back at their conversation to recall what they had been talking about. Her mind was still in a bit of a whirlwind from that adventure, and it was taking some time to come back down and focus. She soon slipped easily back into her flirtatious mindset that Zak always seemed to pull her into as she wrote him a long overdue reply.

Walking up to the Pastoria Gym, Scarlett paused, sending Koga out for a moment and digging through her bag for a few rare candies. "Here ya are. This'll get yer energy levels up ta snuff. Think of it as a reward for all the trouble I put ya through back there." Scarlett suggested, stifling a chuckle at the childish gleam in the otherwise stoic looking scizor's eyes. As she entered the gym, Scarlett was greeted with the palpable smell of chlorine. Ugh. The redhead wrinkled her nose in disgust. She much preferred the smell of fresh or saltwater to this horrible chemical smell. The faster she got this battle over with, the better. Scarlett was more than confident her team could take on Wake, all she had to do was navigate this sweaty sauna of the marshland's gym. Making her way across to the water based arena, Scarlett spotted the gym leader. It wasn't too hard to guess, Crasher Wake had a bit of a reputation. He was certainly quite the character, but too old and muscle headed for Scarlett's tastes, otherwise she might have considered flirting to get an edge in the upcoming battle. Not that she would need it.
The moment he saw her, Wake gave Scarlett a big smile, putting his hands on his hips before letting loose a hearty laugh. "Wahahaha! Welcome to the Pastoria Gym little lady. You here for a challenge?" He asked, and Scarlett smirked. "Do I look like I'm here far a swim...?" Scarlett retorted, tossing Nala's pokeball up and down casually in her hand. "Ha! You're a feisty one! I like that in an opponent. This should be a good battle. Very well, I'll take your challenge. I don't get them very often because my pokemon are as tough as the waves that brought us up. I hope you came prepared!" Scarlett's smirk grew into a wry smile. "Oh, trust me, I did."
