"So...is Suicune a boy or a girl?" Ai cocked her head. Actually, the Espeon wasn't really sure... did legendary pokemon even have genders? "Maybe Hikaru would know. Hey, Hik-!"Though Suicune's aura is at time distinctly feminine, it is at others masculine. Of course, often times the aura of a male or female may be that of the opposite, and it waxes and wanes in even humans. Hikaru's voice sounded in her head, though the Lucario was still seated some eighty feet away by the water's edge.
"Okay, so... That's a fancy way to say 'I don't know', right?" Hikaru paused. I suppose. Yes. Arezu snorted. "Well, guess we didn't solve much of anything, did we?"
"Hey Hikaru, while you're listening, I've got something for you." Arezu began rifling around in her bag while Hikaru stood and began the walk over. "I wasn't sure if it'd work, but anyways, here." She handed the Lucario a shard of crystal. Ranbowed light spilled from it as she handed it over. In the light of the crystal, Hikaru's yellowed fur darkened to match that of her paws.
"That was odd." Hikaru rubbed her belly experimentally. "And here, I ordered the casing a while back but wasn't able to pick it up until we reached Crown City." From her back Arezu pulled a black belt with a mega stone fitted into it. Hikaru took it and slipped it around her waist. "This is a mega stone. Lucarionite. I remember- where did you get this?" Arezu waved the question off. "Come on, come on, try it on." Arezu grinned as Hikaru cinched it tight. A light emanated from the mega stone, and a few moments later Hikaru stood in all her mega glory. Her black fur covered the belt, but that wasn't much of an issue.
"Pretty cool, huh?" Hikaru raised her paws and twisted this way and that, getting a good look at her body. "I feel...powerful." She bent her knees, gathering strength, then leapt into the air. A thunderous clap rippled across the ground. She soared high and far...straight into the lake.
"Hikaru, watch-! ...nevermind." Arezu burst out laughing, doubling over. Ai perked her head up to see what all the commotion was about. She went on high alert, seeing two black shapes running straight for them. Arezu! A voice sounded suddenly in Arezu's head. She snapped her head up, searching for its source.
She forgot her search when her eyes came upon the black forms rushing towards them. They moved so fast, it seemed they were blurring in a flash of white light. No wait, that was...a rainbow...
It appeared Suicune had found something aside from the plate in the lake- a shard of glittering crystal not unlike the one Arezu had used to alter Hikaru's appearance. The Suicune's mane now swept behind it in a glorious aurora, its body dark as the night sky, its white spots like the lights of stars.
Seems like that one got a stronger shard than me. No, no, that wasn't quite it. It seemed like the shards brought out the inner personality of the pokemon, made their outside match their inside. While Hikaru bore a simplification of her natural colors, Suicune now matched its heart as the aurora pokemon.
"Sui-" Suicune raced past, Shiisa hot on it heels. Arezu sighed, watching them go. "Well then." It almost felt now that Suicune deserved a nick name of some sort. The first that came to mind were Aurora and Borealis. Or maybe Boreal. Eh, that didn't quite sound right.
It appeared Suicune and Shiisa were not yet done with their reunion. Arezu sat back down to plan out her next destination. Finally giving the Lucarionite to Hikaru had reminded her of Kalos. Maybe she should go back to visit, see about tackling the next gym. It also couldn't hurt to visit Shalour City to learn more about Hikaru's new abilities.
In the meantime, Kouvu had finally awoken from his nap. He raised his great head, shaking his body and stretching out his wings. He let out a great yawn, the equivalent to a small boomburst. In the distance a Starly fell from the sky, knocked out cold.
Kouvo flapped his wings once, twice, and rose into the air. One thing he had realized in his time with Arezu was that he enjoyed flying above all else. Now that he was free to fly, free to take the the skies whenever he choose, he intended to make the most of it. If the human girl continued to allow him this freedom, it was worth sticking around.
Kouvu amused himself be wheeling close to the ground and taking boomburst potshots at the local wildlife. Though Arezu had worked to curb his violent tendencies, Kouvu had no qualms blasting the pokemon into unconsciousness. A Bidoof tumbled head over heels, knocked out. This was no difference from the training he'd been put through earlier in his life.
What was the purpose of his life? Kouvu saw the others beneath him. The black dogs running across the grass, the tiny ones playing by the water, the older ones resting. Was he supposed to run? To play, to rest? All he knew how to do was to hurt. Nothing else mattered, except flying. He needed no one but the wind.

A warm wind lows around the lake as Sammy makes her way through the curvy path. Crystal blue water comes into her view when she finally arrives at Lake Verity. Seeing that they had finally arrived, she brings out Willow’s pokeball and sends him out.“Turtwig Turtwig …”, he says as he stretches his body. He looks up at the lake with surprise. He turns toward Sammy with an expression that wanted to know what they were doing. “Well I felt we should get to know each other better by doing some battling with wild pokemon.” The pokemon sits there for a moment thinking before jumping up with excitement. “Turtwig Turtwig Turtwig” Sammy giggles before giving her pokemon a pat. It was time to find a wild pokemon.

Suddenly a wild bidoof emerges from a bush a little ways from edge of lake. It takes it a bit of time before it notices Sammy and Willow. It jumps back in a territorial stance. It seemed ready to fight if needed to. This was the perfect chance for them to get to know each other together. They both see this and nod in approval. After her pokemon was feeling better she decided to have a picnic by the lake before they headed down the road. She takes out the food she had packed that morning. Luckily she had remembered to pack pokemon food as well so Willow didn’t have to miss out. Sammy sets a bowl down and fills it with pokemon food. Willow happily rushes over to have a taste of the meal. However before he has a chance a wild starly swoops in and lands on the bowl. It takes several wing full and stuffs it into its mouth. It turns toward Willow with a smirk on its face. This angered Willow as he goes in for an attack. After several hits, Willow proves once again that he is stronger. The starly quickly flies away mad that its plan had been foiled. Sammy and her Turtwig celebrate their victory with a big lunch. They pack up and head out on the road once again. Kouvu circled the lake, showing no concern for keeping the human in sight. The little human girl had gained his cooperation, to a point, but her presence confused him. Kouvu was not used to dealing with confusion, and it bothered him, so he preferred to ignore her. By everything he had been taught, she should be weak. He had thought her weak, when he first met her. But she, and the pokemon that surrounded her, were strong. Very, very strong.
Down in the grass, Arezu watched the distant circling figure of Kouvu up above. She was beginning to get drowsy when urgent footfalls in the grass brought her up. "Zu! Arezu!" Hakuren's breathless voice piped up from the grass moments before he leaped onto her stomach.
"Oof! What? What's up?" Arezu cocked her head. By her feet Shion stood watching quietly, peeking out from the grass. Hakuren grabbed her attention again by stamping a red-bootied paw down. "Why didn't you tell me, Arezu?"
At this point Arezu was completely confused as to what was up. "Why didn't I tell you what?" Hakuren marched up her stomach, stuffing his nose in her face. "That there's this awesome pokemon place we can go to meet other pokemon!" he exclaimed.
...Oh. Arezu snorted, using a hand to gently brush Hakuren off so she could sit up. "What, have you been talking to Raphael again?" Hakuren stood straight, tail perked to the sky. "'Course! He's the coolest, and he said this place is real!"
"Ah, yeah. It's called the day care." Arezu laughed at the look that twisted on Hakuren's face at that name. She reached out a hand to pat his head. "Come on, it isn't that bad. They sorta let pokemon roam free in this big outdoor area. I never sent any of you guys there 'cuz we travel enough as is. You want to go, Ren?"
Hakuren nodded. "Course! Shion wants to go too, don't you, Shion?" He turned towards the Meowstic, who nodded once, slowly. He turned back to Arezu, eager.
Arezu hid the hurt. She and Hakuren hadn't gone anywhere without the other one for...for...ten years? "Um, yeah, okay. If you get in your pokeballs I can send you-" Hakuren tilted his head, confused. "What, why do we have to go in the balls. Can't we just fly there or something?" Apparently he didn't know. "Ren, it's the pokemon day care. Humans can't go." She saw the light fade out of his eyes and sighed. "Look, you sounded like you really wanted to go. How about you and Shion visit for a bit. You can come back whenever you want."
Hakuren shifted from foot to foot, nervous. Without a sound, Shion approached and placed a paw on Hakuren's shoulder. Arezu got out their pokeballs, now intent on letting the two have a little bit of fun. Hakuren relented, and soon Arezu had sent them on their way.
