When the teen shrugged off his question, Dameon didn't press any further. It wasn't his child to raise, so certainly wasn't going to give him the third degree. His eyes flicked to his wife as she stepped up beside him. D'oh. He had taken a long time. "Sorry Star." He muttered with a bit of a blush. He wasn't exactly making this night about her like he promised.

He was just about to reassure Starry about letting the kids stay, when suddenly a dragging noise took his attention. A rather angry looking fae. And then, Adonis stumbling out. Bleeding. The demonics eyes went wide. "On second thought kids, you need to leave. Now." He spoke in his best father-no-nonsense voice, almost booming as his once gentle blue eyes turned into a steely determination. "Go straight home." With that he straightened to face what had turned Adonis into a pincushion, feeling his skin tighten to it's slippery state. "I think we're going to be needed Star."

Vash felt a poke, his eyes skipping around looking for it's source,,, he didn't see anything out of the norm, if you could call this party normal.... Soon his eyes landed on a naiad across the room and his thoughts of the lady Venus now completely forgotten as he stared with a goofy grin across the room at the naiad.

She was aware that the urge to dance was unnatural. That led to one very unhappy deity. That her sister would strike her, after she danced her fill, irritated the Goddess. What helped was the Fae was a good dance partner. To her delight, she learned he was an even better kisser. Harmonia had no desire to hold back or have a chaste kiss.

This led her to be more absorbed in her dance partner then what was going on around them. She missed too much. The first sign something was amiss came from a voice. Not just any voice but His voice. The pounding in her chest was no longer due to her partner. "My dear Champion, you will want away. You must leave. This is turning into a family matter" Concern covered her face as she chewed her bottom lip.

Compulsion to dance battled her nature to try and fix this. There was only one hope. Looking around she called for her brother's assistance "Antheros! He had to cancel out the arrow, had to free her so she could do something!

a sister asking a brother to hit her with a hammer, that's unusual. I apologize if I have the wrong one. At work but I wanted to participate.

Slipping through a crack in the temple wall, lurking in the shadows, a silhouette moved fluidly into the throne room, remaining out of sight. It watched with intrigue as the God of War made his presence known.

Lured by the scent of battle.

This shadow was lured by something else.

Remaining cloaked in darkness, the figure moved careful to avoid detection.

And there he was - Adonis stumbled in to the party, body jerking and flexing. As the partygoers and gods present focused their gazes on the arrows in his back (and maybe the tiny one broken in his butt) it did not go noticed that he had curious gash on his leg.

The room filled with the scent of death.

The silhouette fled the throne room hurriedly, a purple cloak billowing behind as it disappeared through the crack in which it entered.

She tasted just as wonderful as he imagined. With love and harmony together, their contact easily clicked. When he pulled away for a breath of air, the dreamy look in his eyes quickly faded into worry at the concern on the others face. She was telling him to leave? But he still wanted to dance! And party! Perhaps smooch some more...

"Are you sure? I won't get in the..." Goddess help him. That male pae had more spikes in him than a hedgehog. His first instinct was to run to him, but it was obvious that he would be too late to do any good. He moved protectively in front of Harmonia as he brought his hands together. Time spent with Harmonia and the night had increased his feelings for the golden winged female, and as the pink sparks flew a strong broad sword easily materialized in his grip. He would not permit any further harm to her, no matter how his hips still swayed to the music.

User ImageAfter Artemis left and Venus attempted to settle herself where she sat, a loud smash caught Venus' attention, and she reeled back.

And then she heard it. The voice dripping in utter manliness, like rough sandpaper against her ear. The way his intonation rang was all-too-familiar, and it likely should have been, considering he was the father of quite the number of her kids. At least, a lot of the eldest ones, anyway.

Her fears were confirmed when she saw him step into the light and demand what she was doing.

"Ahaha, Ares! It's so good to see you could make it to my party!" Venus looked legitimately petrified, a fact that was shortly compounded by the figure stumbling towards her, reaching out to her. She was still mad at Adonis, and yet, that melted away when she saw the blood dripping from his back, onto the floor, as he reached out to her and asked for her help. It seemed, for a moment, Venus lost all her precious color, and she no longer cared for Ares' presence.

Well, she did, if just to glare at him. "Back away!"

She ran off her throne again, but this time, she stopped in front of Adonis, dropping to her knees despite what it would do to her dress and reaching out in the air, a hand touching one of the arrows in his back...

And nearing a gash in his side, before backing it away, her head turning to the side. "Oh, my love! What have they done to you!"

Any glare from Ares was subsequently ignored.

User ImageEros jumped back when Adonis entered the room not too long after Ares, arrows in his back, and blood dripping on the floor behind him.

Immediately, his mind went into leadership mode, eyes swirling around the room to pick up the location of all the Erote and Grace immortals in the room, along with their adult demigod sons and daughters. They needed to get all these mortals out, clear a path so they could take care of whatever happened here.

There was a small thought that crossed his mind of not again. How many years now had they ended their party in literally ushering mortals outside of the temple? Perhaps the temple was not a good spot for these celebrations--

Eros rose in the air, putting himself above the chaos and also to get a better vantage point, "Erotes, Graces!" stated Eros, loudly, to make sure he was heard by everyone relevant. "Please usher the mortals outside of the temple! They do not need to go home, but they cannot stay here! Use any means to get them out of here!" That, of course, alluded to using their special arrows if needed, appropriately. That might be necessary for some of the more stubborn ones that thought they were protecting the others from something...

When he was sure all had heard him, he looked down to the scene below him, squinting at what he saw.

Were those ... red anemones in Adonis' bloody path?
PostPosted: Thu Feb 19, 2015 12:55 am
User ImageHis world was spinning.

First his father showed up, only a few moments later, his mother's new fiance stumbled in, and died. So much for their peaceful party. They had to get all the mortals out of here, didn't they? They didn't deserve to see this. This was supposed to be a celebration of love and victory, not whatever this was quickly becoming. Leaning down to Yukiko's ear, he murmured, "Please, stay back," a whisper of concern for her despite his own condition, before he turned to find his brother to form a cohesive plan --

When he was stopped by Harmonia, clearly requesting to be hit by his hammer. He could guess that much by the fact she was trying to get his attention and the fact that she had an arrow in her back. Probably connected to the mortal faerie she had at her side.

Anteros gave a small, apologetic look in advance, setting his hot chocolate down on the beverage table for a moment so he could lift up his hammer and bring it down quickly on both Harmonia and the faerie that insisted on following her. The hit would sting a little, but mostly it canceled out the effect of the arrows, and both would feel free to wander instead of under whatever compulsion the arrows were giving them.

"Harmonia, we absolutely need to get these mortals out of here, like Eros said."

Dancing in circles was getting very irritating, just getting bits and pieces of what was going on. Her feet would not stop! For the millionth time she promised herself after this she'd find Thalia's arrows and would break them, and the bow for good measure! Her champion was brave but there was no need for him to get involved in this.

Eros had a point, they needed to get he mortals out of here, that included her dear Champion. Brave as he was, something she treasured about him, this wasn't what she wanted him involved in. Having just met him, meeting the parents was just happening too soon.

Thank goodness her brother heard her call and hit her with that blessed arrow. Wincing, she contained an 'ow' with just a whimper. There was no time to be relieved that the dancing arrow was canceled. "Thank you, Anteros!"

Finding her mother caused a look of horror to cross her face. She didn't care for Adonis but certainly didn't wish him dead. Who did that?! This made her fear for her champion. "My darling champion." Putting her hand on Tristen's arm she tired to make sure she had his attention, "That is my Father, he won't harm me." She didn't think he would. "You need to help get everyone out of here. Champion of Harmony, see the others to safety."

Did Ares have a favorite like Venus did? She was the only daughter maybe that might help? Fixing her dress a little, the Goddess entrusted the escorting to Tristen and tried to get Ares' attention off her Mother. "Daddy?" Peace and harmony, maybe her magic could help here?

User ImageHe did notice the presence of his children, the incredulous "dad?" from Anteros and Eros reaching his ears. He'd glanced their way, giving a barely perceptible nod.

He wasn't here to quarrel with them. Any quarrel he had was purely with their mother.

His expression was flat when Adonis stumbled into the room, arrows sticking out him every which way. If Ares cared about the fate of the muscular pretty-boy blond, he certainly wasn't showing it. The red god's expression changed only to show the faintest glimpse of disdain for Adonis as he collapsed, flexing the whole time.

Ares' hand was around the hilt of his sword again, the blade brought to bear, before his mind had even processed why.

The scent of death...

He visibly relaxed after a moment. Of course the scent of death was in the air. Adonis clearly lay dying, after all. He more or less ignored Harmonia, sparing her a glance but not much else. He would not hurt her, this was true, however... No, he was absolutely not here for peace and love.

Not his department.

He approached Venus and Adonis, watching the former warily. He know she wouldn't be happy to see him. He wasn't happy to be here. Ares more or less also ignored the mortals being ushered out the door. They weren't his concern, either, unless they tried to start something. It would be very unwise for them to try to start something.

Standing a small distance away from Venus, a flat, impatient "wasn't me" was all he would say.

User Image"No," cried Venus, moving herself closer to the bleeding, dead form of Adonis, placing his head in her lap. "No..."

Perhaps it was Venus' own flair for drama, or perhaps it was her own deep upset, but the tears were beginning to fall from her face, glancing down at Adonis as Ares neared them, coming closer and closer. She glanced up at him, eyes unusually fiery for her usual disposition.

The wasn't me was caught by Venus, and her stare turned almost icy, a small hiss coming from her lips. "Am I supposed to believe you, Ares?" For the tears in her eyes, her voice was almost bizarrely steady as she talked to him, though she turned back to Adonis in short order and started sniffling once again.

She looked up from her fiance, for a moment, watching the Erotes and Graces shuffling the mortals outside. Venus had no visible response to what was happening, looking back down at Adonis.

Flex in peace...

Amatus didn't like hearing it, but a cynical part of him asked why he had even hoped in the first place. Did he really believe this group would know of anything? He'd be surprised if any of them really knew what went on in the 'mortal' world. Hardly any of them acted or looked like they spent a second living their lives. Nah, they were all pampered here in this templed he was sure of it. Throwing these ridiculous parties while so many were missing or hurting...

All these thoughts let loose in his mind. He may have not meant them, but at that moment all he knew was anger. Anger that he had held onto the slimmest hope of finding her again. He couldn't keep doing this dance, the back and fort of expecting something before having it all stripped away from him again. This could possibly be it for him. He was done. She was gone and there wasn't anything he could do about it. It would be better if he'd just stop letting himself get hurt like this-

His face got a confused look on it at her antics. What happened to the pushy know it all? Her wings blocked his view as a commotion started behind her. It must have been bad with how everyone was suddenly acting. From happy, nothing mattered in the world, to silent or murmuring and all glancing in the same direction. He glared her down looking like he wasn't playing around anymore, “Quit it. I have just as much right as anyone here to be here. Now leave us alone we're done here.” He grabbed the wing closest to him and shoved it back against her body with a hard shove before brushing past her. Sure, she'd offered to help, but he was done with all the bad news. Done with these people-

His steps stopped short and he felt his heart lurch. He hadn't been expecting a body that was for sure. He'd miss the whole dramatic flare of the whole event and instead just took in the fact the body was riddled with arrows. He'd been fine after the battle hadn't he? So this happened just now? This family was getting worse and worse with every second. Amatus turned to look over his shoulder to see if his brother was following. He wasn't sure if they should be seeing this, but it was a little too late.

He didn't know his supposed 'Dad' nor had he ever cared to really get to know the guy. Even finding out he was a god of these parts didn't lure him. He was happy with the family they had and didn't need anything more. Still, there was something hard about seeing it. He tore his eyes away and looked down at the ground. Should he have cared? Should he be feeling some sense of loss? Really, he was more upset about losing his sister. Sure, he felt sorry for the crying pink lady and the fact the guy wasn't going to get to do anything god like again, but he didn't feel a sadness in connection with himself.

“Let's go home, Erasmus.” he finally spoke, his voice soft. “I'm over this day.”

He was going to defend her with his last breath, even if he had hips that simply could not lie. In fact, he had half a mind to strut right up to that red fae and-THWAP! Tristen lurched forward, barely sticking a foot out in front of himself to catch him before he fell. "Ow!" He reached up through his crimson locks at the spot which had been thumped upon. Was that going to leave a bump? He straightened up, glancing between Harmonia and Ares. That was...her dad? Wait.

In a strange way he was meeting her parents? He didn't have a good experience with meeting the fathers of lovers.

"Alright, my Goddess. I will see you back at the house soon." His way of saying, be careful.

With that, he darted to the sign lines, ushering pae out of their chairs and helping drag the occasional pae who was still influenced by an arrow. One of such pae was...his sister?
"Erylia?!" He spoke incredulously, watching her drag on a purple shetani to try and wrestle. He marched over to her, letting the sword dissipate before grabbing her by the arm. "You've had enough fun for one evening Erylia."

Why didn't he want to dance with her? And why was the other male he was dancing with glaring at her so? "He's mine!" So engrossed in their little 'threesome' she barely noticed the turmoil around her. Until at least, a familiar hand appeared on her arm. "Hey! There's enough Erylia for...Tristen!" She hadn't seen him in ages. Not since...not since Raken told them about...

Mother.

"W-wait! Tristen!" but she was already being dragged away.

Harmonia smiled to the Fae, "You will, my Champion, and I'll see you rewarded." That was her thank you, though the reward part was a bit cheap. She had already intended to 'finish' what they started on the dance floor to night.

Knowing her Champion was acting in her honor freed her to pay closer attention to the family drama. Walking closer, she hoped to do something, anything to help. It didn't seem any of her siblings present had earned more then a glance from Ares. That blew a hole in that plan.

Huffing softly she continued forward passing a Faun, bad memories attached to those, and a demon. "You two, out go to where ever you feel safe. Go!" Shooing them both she turned and continued her path closer to Venus.

Still confident she was safe, they were her parents after all, the Deity got closer. The smell of blood was sickening and just looking at Adonis made her stomach drop. She didn't care for him at all, he certainly wouldn't be any father of hers. That did not mean she wished him harm but someone clearly did. If not father, for she believed him instantly when he said he didn't do it, then who? Couldn't be Eris, Artemis had no reason to attack Adonis as far she knew. The only arrows were thrown around during this event were not fatal so what?

Too much blood has spilled in this temple, if she were a masochist she'd tell her mother that she needed to abandon it and have a new one made. The idea of a flexing ghost floating around was not pleasing.

Getting close enough to reach out and touch her, Harmonia called out to her mother first, "Mom..." Then with one hand, she reached for her mother's shoulder attempting to try and comfort her. Knowing better than to get between the two Deities, she chose to be on he far side of her mother between the two but was more than prepared to jump in if it was needed. Not a great place for any child but she was and adult and a deity! She wasn't Eros but certainly there was something she could do for Venus.
