  Gracie smiled just slightly at Rufus when he greeted her. "Er..." She said, trying to think fast. She needed to come up with some reason for her to try out for the team that didn't sound deranged. She really didn't think telling her only friend in Ravenclaw that she was joining Quidditch because she was hoping the bludgers would smash her brains in sounded very good. "I thought I needed a change... and um at least here I have you.... I mean uhh... friends you know... don't have much of those anymore... umm... yeah...." She doubted she sounded very convincing at all, but she figured if he pressed the issue he wouldn't do it in public at least.

Thankfully, the tryouts hadn't started quite yet. "Don't start without me." he said, hauling a school broom and his bat behind him. He hoped to regain his Beater position this year, even though he only tried out last year on a whim. He had grown to enjoy it. Plus, what wasn't fun about knocking people out of the sky? Taking a form, he quickly filled it out and handed it in, then proceeded to wait. Chase took the liberty to drag the chest of quidditch balls out as the others filled out their forms. When he came back, he noticed that there were a lot more people, which was a good thing, considering how little number of Ravenclaws tried out last year.
"Alright, guys. Let's start," Chase declared, seeing how nobody new was coming and some people were simply standing around. "Beaters, grab your bats," he said, pointing at a small pile of bats on the floor next to the trunk. "I'll release the bludgers as soon as you guys are ready. Richard, you're up first as Keeper. Chasers, get ready." Chase took the quaffle from the trunk. "Shina, snatch that snitch as fast as you can."
When everybody was on their brooms and ready in their prospective positions, Chase released the snitch first, watching it zip through the air and disappear in the blink of an eye. "Beaters, aim for the targets. They're strictly on the right side of the field, so you should not be hitting anybody else, who are on the left side of the field." The bludgers were soon released, as Chase dodged to the side to prevent getting bludgeoned. Then he took out the quaffle, and threw it at Rufus. He would be competing against Grace and Gren for that last chaser spot. Chase found it funny how both the captain and vice-captain were chasers.
{OOC; Targets have AC's of 10 for now. For those of you who don't understand the new system Diamond_Wales has implanted, feel free to PM me or Dia for any help, clarifications, etc. :3 Yes, I will be stalking the thread.}

Gracie watched Rufus get the quaffle thrown at him and mounted her broom. She knew this was going to be bad. Her broom was an old one, since she hated flying her parents hadn't bothered to buy her a new one any time recently, and she was against Rufus. She had seen him play before, he was good. She sighed and took off into the air, following Rufus quietly. She reached out for a steal, knowing it wouldn't work, but figuring she should try anyways. That was the point of the game right?

Gracie looked down in utter shock when the ball slipped from Rufus' grasp and into hers. She glanced back when Rufus yelled towards her and laughed... she actually legitimately laughed. He had seemed so surprised when she zoomed past him. He had actually made her laugh. Within seconds the ball was taken from her grasp and she watched Rufus speed away. She flew after him quickly, reaching out to take it back. Although she hated flying and Quidditch definitley wasn't her thing, playing it with Rufus was definitely an escape from herself. She could understand why her cousin's played and she thought that maybe just maybe playing would be good for her, and even if it wasn't, there was still the plus side of possibly getting smashed in by a bludger.

 ✺ Single✺Half Blood✺Ravenclaw✺First Year✺↰⇞⇘↶↾↜↲↫↪↺↭↻↩↬↳↝↿↷⇙⇟↱He did it. In all honesty, Gren had no clue how. He expected the older, more experienced player to dodge his move, but he must have been too concerned with Grace to notice him coming in. As soon as he came up, he punched the Quaffle out of Rufus’s arm and caught it with both hands...and almost lost his balance. When as soon as the surprise of the move ended, Gren ducked down and pulled his broom to the right and dove down a bit since he knew the two would be behind him. Then, Rufus made his move. It looked like Rufus was gonna come in stop him, but Gren saw it coming. Rufus went high above Gren and tried to dive-bomb him, and all Gren had to do was move to the side...but he decided to pull a little stunt. He ducked himself down and twisted his whole body and barrel-rolled to the left, as Rufus flew right past him. When he straightened back out, Gren had to shake his head to regain his composure, but he soon got his concentration back and he ducked down with the Quaffle in his right hand, ready for anyone to try and steal this puppy from him. ”Haha!!! Gracie watched silently as Gren stole from Rufus and then after two attempts Rufus stole the ball back. She licked her lips and swopped down suddenly, attempting to take the ball back from her friend.
