"Come over here, team..." Tamiya suggested to her ship mates. The first zombie attack went fairly well with some minor blips. Her eyes kept flickering back towards the camera, extremely aware of how public their ship would become.

There was only one thing to do when faced with an empty corridor - a space of reprieve, to recollect and re-assault the ship with vigor. Pray.

"Join hands and we shall reinvigorate ourselves."

Tamiya cleared her throat.

"Wake up in my golden bed
The wicked thoughts inside my head

Sinter advances down the corridor... And finds a door!

Sinter walked alongside Tamiya as they trekked down the belly of the ship. He only had a couple measly hours to research the mission before being called to duty. Still, based on what little information he could collect in that window, he was fairly certain they were headed in the correct direction.

Despite being deep in thought, as soon as Tamiya said "Join hands," Sinter automatically placed his own in Tamiya's clammy grip. He continued reading the signage on the doors to gauge their approximate location.

Before Sinter could be bothered to register a word Tamiya was saying, he spotted the door. "Aha! Through here." He loped down the hall towards his destination, still taking Tamiya by the hand. He released his moirail as he stopped at the door. He set to work disarming the security system.

"If someone wouldn't mind getting the lock. I should be finished with this, ah... Now."

This is a mini-boss battle, the full rules and mechanics of which can be reviewed here.
The room beyond the door seems empty from the hallway, but stepping inside you are swiftly aware that you are not alone! For lurking in the corner is a dark groaning shape. As it turns towards you, you realize you are entering strife!

If this is your fourth mini-boss fight, you have reached one of the steering systems! Roll 1d4 in the spoiler below:

1 - The other teams appear to have been successful in their endeavors. There's enough power available for you to reengage the system. The entire room illuminates and roars with life. It's perhaps dangerous to hang around in here too long, but in the meantime the amount of energy in the air makes you feel powerful.
2 - The tendrils of the ship's wiring look like a crime scene, or perhaps a particularly gory nest. Headquarters gives you harried instructions to shut down and isolate the area before the whole ship goes up in flames.
3 - An undead helmsman is still tethered to the center console. They don't have the ability to provide power, but their presence is preventing the back-up systems from triggering. You remove the zombie and the system reengages successfully.
4 - The room is dark and cold, but with instructions from headquarters and the efforts of the teams on the other decks, the system has enough power to reboot itself. The ship begins to thrum with life. It makes your horns tingle and your hair stand on end.
Congratulations! You have completed your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!

Boss HP: 33/40


The prayer break has been peculiar to her, but Frossa offered up one of her hands to the others and fell into silence. The other, rotated the camera around the squad, and then zoomed in uncomfortably close on Tamiya's face as she chanted.

Sinter spoke up. Locks? Hah. "Ooh, ooh! I got this. Watch and learn~!" Frossa brandished her flail. With her free hand, she rapped a few knuckles along the door's frame, tilting her head to listen. "Hmmm..."

It only took her a few well aimed smacks with her flail to bring the door down. "It's all in being precise!" She harped to the camera, flipping her hair.

As the dust settled behind her, the lumbering figure of one intimidating undead approached. Frossa swung the camera around, tossing it to the nearest troll. "Catch! Keep it to my left- that's my good side." She swooped in for an attack, eager to draw first blood.

The commander in front of them was a single, simple troll. Tamiya breathed in through her sniffnode, ready and on the attack.

"That is it!" She roared. Their tiny 'leader' was something else. Scrappy, violent, violent and enthusiastic. Yes, this was a picturesque mission.

"Prepare the cameras... To witness my suffering." Tamiya felt blood rush behind her eyes, and braced herself. Her sclera filled in, blood red. Whatever sense was left in the Commander was about to be addled, tortured.

Her concentration was set. Before she released her powers, Tamiya turned Punkie. "Follow this up, my sister, with everything you have got!"

She roared, planting both feet firmly on the ground and letting loose. All at once she saw the results of her efforts. The once-troll staggered, tipped. That was enough for her. In the opening she smashed a few more times with her club.

Punkie wiped away a tear that Tamiya's words had brought forth. It was beautiful, just, so beautiful. And then to boot, Tamiya asked her to attack with her. "At your ******** service!" Punkie jumped up with Tamiya, as if floating on clouds, time seemed to stop and roses seemed to bloop.

Then it all came back, and instead of flowers, clouds, and happy feeling, there was just undead goop, a rancid smell, and another, yet more, monstrous thing in their way.

Sinter felt a chill as he regarded the musclebound daywalker at the end of the room. It took a second look to realize many of the masses were tumorous and roiling as the creature kept regenerating itself. The creature was the most intent on resurrecting of any daywalker they'd seen thus far.

To its own detriment that seemed to further its weakness to Tamiya's chucklevoodoos. Sinter winced under the mental strain of his proximity to Tamiya. He channeled the fear and adrenaline and sprinted forward. He chopped across the stab wounds left by Punkie's daggers, trying to keep the gashes open for as long as possible. Frossa was winding up for another attack. If he could just keep the daywalker distracted...

The daywalker lurched. As long as its tendons knit back together, pain wouldn't impede its motion. With an enormous swing, it hooked Sinter across the middle, sending him flying across the length of the room. He hit the ground and continued sliding. His fallen sword missed his hand by inches.

Sinter does 5 damage!

Bonus attack!
Frossa deals 3 DMG. +1 stacking DMG.

Boss HP: 17/40


That was... odd. Her first attack had landed squarely against the side of the rotting commander's skull, but Frossa had swore she saw their temple cave in. Now that she swooped in for a second strike, she registered that the undead had reformed that side of it's face- it now throbbed with an array of bleeding tumors. Frossa held down a gag- just barely. While her other ships had failed to live up to her FLARP-enhanced expectations, this one certainly was living up to them. Pure boss monster material.

"It's regenerating!" She exclaimed outloud, turning back to the camera to gesture wildly.

"Sinter!" Tamiya roared.

Her moirail was tragically crushed under a huge brute. She snarled, wheeling forward with all she had and smashed her club down on what she could only assume was the commander's remaining skull bits.

It looked like since Frossa's attack it was regenerating significantly less. "Thank the Messiahs.... Fyrste, your assault was well placed. This ******** is dead a** meat!"

"Hehe! Why thank you," Frossa took the pause in battle to flip her hair and preen at the camera in her usual fashion. "How observant of you to notice." Sinter, sprawled across the room, was spared the briefest of glances. The camera remained on the purplebloods.

"C'mon guys- get yourselves together! We got this~" she cheered, arms stretched out overhead, as she lunged once more at the daywalker abomination.

Frossa deals x DMG.

Boss HP: 9/40


The hulking daywalker commander stumbled backwards, sinews straining to weave themselves back together on the arm Frossa had almost managed to swipe clean off. It howled and lurched- Frossa hopped backwards, narrowly avoiding a devestating blow like the one Sinter had taken.

She stepped back behind her team, retrieving the camera.
"What a sight to behold!" Gasping into the camera for effect, she zoomed in on bloody strings reattaching to one another.

"For the Messiahs!" The orangeblood's war cry called out, echoing around the lifeless corridors. She leap at the boss, winning herself a nice swipe through its soggy flesh. "You ATROCITIES!" She yelled at them as she jumped back to a safe place. "You insult the ******** Messiahs with you false miracles!"

The girls were more than capable of keeping up the assault on the daywalker while Sinter collected himself from the floor. He retrieved his sword, flexing his wrist experimentally. He'd embarrassed himself twice now. He was angry. The slicing pain in his hip was irrelevant as he sprinted around the back of the zombie.

Sinter landed a wide slash across the base of the zombie's spine. The creature stumbled as it tried to make sense of its severed nerves. "Now!" Sinter shouted, leaping back from the slowly regenerating damage.

Sinter does 4 damage!
