"Why does everything on these ships have to be so... gross?" Vulpin sneered, turning their nose up. They could practically smell the thing through their suit. Seemed like the yellowblood dove right into the fight. Vulpin supposed they kind of had to provide some backup.

They withdrew their full barrage of knives. The quicker they could deal with this, the better. Aiming all of the knives for the zombie's chest, Vulpin smirked when the knives impacted with a loud, impressive squelch.

Vulpin dealt (4 x 2) + 1 = 9 DMG

She couldn't really argue with that. It was gross! The sound of their attack didn't help much.

"Just try to kill it fast?" Tevini offered weakly. She fired off some rounds at the monster, pinning it's feet with her nail bullets before finishing it off. She was prone to dwelling on her demons if she thought about them for too long, so she'd started trying to just move from one to the next in a hurry. It wasn't really handling them well but at least she kept going forward.

"Is everyone alright?" He sounded concerned as he adjusted his suit. Pursing his lips he realized they all seemed together well enough. "Good question. Everything does smell fairly awful doesn't it?" Stryke agreed reluctantly. To their leader he nodded. "Ma'm..I'm going to see what is just ahead of us." He offered with a polite nod of his head. Unlike earlier, he kept close enough to be within eye and earshot should he need to call out.

"Yes, I'm alright!" Tevini replied a little hastily, out of nerves. She watched Stryke go and listened for an okay to follow. As she did, the redblood glanced at Vulpin curiously. She didn't really know this troll and got the feeling they were a little too cool for her. Not that she disliked them, she just got the feeling she didn't match the right social status to make small talk with. It was a weird place to be, acting as a commander while having self esteem problems, so she decided to just stay quiet for now and made her way down the hall after the yellowblood.

Vulpin held both of their arms out, trying to stop the rest of the crew. "Hold up." They said, listening. They heard some shuffling down the corridor, and they turned their head to face the threat head on. "It's more company," They warned the others. "It's a big pack this time." They withdrew their knives, preparing for a big fight.

Stryke moved in quickly, making short work of the more impressive horde of 12. His attention was hyper-focused as he kicked, stabbed and slashed his way through them to clear a path. Somewhere in his mind, his sense of self-switched off as he gained increasing accuracy with clearing out daywalkers. He wanted to keep the other two safe. He could just shield himself so a few bumps and scratches hardly mattered.

Slightly out of breath by the time the last two where standing, he his eyes were shadowed by his hat and long hair as he knew just how to end the remaining daywalkers he had missed in his clean up. None would be left...they deserved to cease the half-life they were trapped in.

With the remaining few daywalkers still standing, Stryke produced his backup source of power output. His pocket watch. Winding it up, he gripped it in his palm as he raised the artifact up. Releasing the safety mechanism with a click noise, a laser shot forth scorching the remaining few days walkers laying them to waste. "Sir, target neutralized." He relayed, his tone quiet as his grip gradually relaxed on his dagger hilts by a small fraction.

This allowed his teammates have more time to find the right path to the command center he figured. Still, slightly out of breath, his head turned..looking as if to make sure he had nothing else he needed to eliminate.

"Damn, boy," Vulpin laughed, looking over the yellowblood. "That's some skill you've got there. A tad showoff-y." Vulpin wouldn't say it out loud, but they loved that they didn't have to lift a finger. They walked past Stryke, looking back over their shoulder. "But that's not a bad thing in my book." They smiled, gold canines glinting in the low light. They still didn't know how to smile in a non-creepy way.

His eyes widened as the other called him out for his fighting. Once upon a time, no one would have mentioned such a thing in reference to him. The change in his life had helped shape the troll he was today. His cheeks tinted a light shade of yellow as he glanced down at his boots. "Ah..thanks." He added, sheepishly rubbing the fabric on his turtleneck. While he was supposed to be scouting for a new path, the yellowblood was somewhat at a loss for words. "It's nothing really...I want my teammates safe." Stryke added as he chuckled, amused by that all to golden grin. His eyes widened not having expected the odd smile.

Peeking down a corridor he shook his head. "Not this way." He suggested quickly turning back to look at them with a troubled expression, as his brows knit together slightly. There was no door as far as he could see.

Tevini watched Stryke charge down a dead end, flustered from their third teammate's flirting and tried to stop herself from laughing.

"C-come back!" The redblood giggled, unable to stop herself. The nerves of trying to be good and appear confident in front of this stranger vanished. She didn't know if they'd done it on purpose or not but the sight of Stryke so flushed and confused was a rare treat. She turned away hoping he wouldn't get mad at her as he returned to group back up.

"I see a door this way, silly!" Tevini smiled, pointing down the other hallway Stryke had failed to notice in his panic.

Vulpin covered a giggle, relishing in the fact that they made the yellowblood blush so easily. Who knew that messing with strangers could be so exciting? Vulpin would have come out of their hive more often if they could meet more people like this.

They trailed after the redblood, assessing the door as they had earlier. "This one is trapped and locked as well," They said, matter-of-factly. Looking between the two teammates, they shrugged. "Well, have at it, smarties," they said, taking a step back.

She hadn't expected Vulpin's giggle to be so charming. The redblood watched them snicker and was once again struck by how they reminded her of Cerpin. Despite being intimidated by them, they'd become a little more relatible in that moment.

"I'll get the lock." Tevini nodded, understanding that smarties referred to her and Stryke. After an endless parade of opening doors for Lorata, it didn't bother her to do so again now. With a few quick tips of a pin, she heard that familiar sound and smiled.

"Smartie 2 will get the trap!" The redblood moved aside and gestured at the door with a flourish.

The room beyond the door seems empty from the hallway, but stepping inside you are swiftly aware that you are not alone! For lurking in the corner is a dark groaning shape. As it turns towards you, you realize you are entering strife!

"Not slime again!" Tevini frowned, firing a few rounds as she entered the room. She hated fighting slime, her bullets just weren't that effective against it. The redblood circled around while searching the room for anything useful she could find. There had to be something that she could attack the slime with! Her nerves threatened to kick in, as she doubted her competency. She wasn't used to commanding or leading the fight. As much as she hated it, she was grateful she was experiencing it and learning what it was like. Hopefully she'd be able to better support the leaders in her life after this.

Back at the Space Tower, Shrewcleo sat impatiently at the volunteer rest lounge. He'd arranged all of the tables and chairs to be comfortably angled at each other and prepared the refreshments table. He'd dusted the area and mopped the floors. All of this so that he could do it right because Brewcleo just plain couldn't.

The others would see. Eventually.

He was right.
