Xavier could hear the alarms going off as Amonee fumbled with the system. Augh! It was so loud the sound set his anxiety on edge! The sirens could alert the whole ship to their location! What if they got overran?! Fearing the worst, he rushed over the pannel and began poking at it a bit. As he studied it, he noticed the flashing alert on it. On a whim, he poked the button. Just like that, his action brought silence as the flashing lights and blaring sound ceased.

Exhaling slowly he rubbed his neck as he fished out the key card he had found in the other room. "I'm going to try opening it.." He indicated before he swiped the keycard.

Resultt: You find a panel with a flashing alert on it. Tapping the panel will turn the ship alarm off.

This is a mini-boss battle, the full rules and mechanics of which can be reviewed here.
The room beyond the door seems empty from the hallway, but stepping inside you are swiftly aware that you are not alone! For lurking in the corner is a dark groaning shape. As it turns towards you, you realize you are entering strife!

1 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the ship away.*
2 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. As the screens boot up however, dozens of red warnings and errors flash across the screen. It seems like there has been critical damage to the ship in multiple places. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
3- The ship refuses to power on, even after you follow headquarters instructions to make sure they are plugged in, and hitting ctrl-alt-del. It looks like something core is not functioning. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
4- Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the boarding vessel away.*
If any troll in the party has helmsman authority, they can steer the ship to given coordinates, then return to the boarding vessel with the rest of the team.

Eilidh grinned as she found a door, pointing it out to her friends. She then inspected the door, realizing it was indeed locked. Good thing Xavier found that Card key!... But what if it was trapped..? It wasn't like Eilidh was trained to disarm it or even know if there was one. Oh well, here goes nothing... Maybe she should cover her face like last time... that'd surely help, right? Alarms?! That wasn't good! Thankfully Xavier was able to turn them off..... But now that the alarm is over with, it was time to deal with.... That thing... That ugly a** mutated zombie!

The daywalker rounded the room as they entered behind Eilidh. It's face was horrifying and it had mutated into something beyond the normal kinds they encountered on Alternia. Nucleo winced at the sight of it, feeling terrible for who it had once been.

Then it turned towards Eilidh.

"Oh no you don't!" Nucleo snarled, racing across the room and slamming his fist into the monster's face. He intercepted the creature before it could do any further harm and started to pummel it to the floor.

"Don't you touch them!" Nucleo shouted and slammed everything in his body at the creature. Instinctively he called forth his clones to help destroy the monster. The assault was quick and soon over, with his clones surrounding him and being absorbed back.

"Sorry you had to see that." The barista apologized, feeling bad about the display of violence he'd just performed. Sure it was normal to fight on Alternia but the Lightseekers preached peace and non-violence as much as possible. They understood the concept of self protection and he knew no one would hold it against him. Still, he didn't want them to be disappointed or disturbed by him.

Through hard-won discipline and training, he had learned to steal himself from the worst of situations. Xavier took in a slow breath, exhaling as he focused on his center. If he didn't maintain one of his core values how else would he be able to keep focused? This type of knowledge was not one he had been born with. He could feel a renewed surge of strength as he shivered slightly.

Having seen Nucleo dispatch the disgusting armored daywalker was incredible really. He couldn't help but be amazed by not only he but Eilidh for so bravely confronting their foe. It went without saying each and every one of them had their own unique talents.

Eilidh watched as Nucleo protected her again. It was pumpbiscuit warming to see how much he really did care about her... How much all her friends cared about her. It made her want to be a better troll, it's why she'd follow them anywhere. "Thanks Nucleo.... You are amazing.. Are you hurt?" She moved to him, looking him over. She hoped that the ugly mutated boss creature didn't hurt him. While making sure he was alright, she took a moment to regain herself again.

"My, that was too much excitement." Amonee put a hand to his chest, relieved that the fight had ended without people getting too badly hurt. He was proud of how strong Xavier and Nucleo were. Eilidh was doing her best and braving even an ugly monster like that! He really needed to treat his friends to something nice after this. They had certainly earned it. Maybe something like a dip in the hot springs hidden on Busthind once they left the tower?

"This way looks good." He pointed down a hallway and the four of them moved together as a group. The jadeblood felt so much safer with his dear friends. He only wished Caiden could have come with them! Keeping all his precious people within eyesight during dangerous missions like these would have been ideal.

Just as things seemed to be settling down Xavier's attention turned in the direction of oncoming daywalkers. The sound of shuffling coupled with those grasping hands made the teen frown. He had seen many in his time being alive. As he liked to venture outside during daylight hours, it wasn't like he was afraid. If anything he just wanted them dealt with as quickly as possible...they deserved to be laid to rest as any troll. These trolls had died on these ships. Former allies, lovers..haters and gog only knew what else. Being left in this state was no way to live.

Eilidh felt blessed to be with her friends again. It had felt like so long. And for the most part, they all seemed intact. She checked on Amonee then Xavier to make sure all her friends were okay. She wondered if Caiden was okay. Even though she had been on a ship with him already, she still wondered if he was safe. The tealblood sighed, following her friends as they searched the ship some more.

"Eilidh!" Nucleo's eyes widened as a zombie rounded the corner. He jumped in front of her, pushing into it's swipe to spare her the injury. Letting out a cry, he clutched the scratch and was knocked back by more zombies entering the scene. The greenblood struggled to push away from a zombie slamming him against the wall but was momentarily preoccupied from helping his friends further!

"Nucleo, are you alright?" Amonee watched the zombies shuffle over to the group and the greenblood attack at them. He was worried that the barista was pushing himself too hard these nights. The other boy tried to keep everyone safe by putting himself at risk instead. Did he feel expendable because of his clones? He couldn't allow Nucleo to shoulder all of that alone. Amonee rushed at one of the zombies and knocked it to the floor. He turned to swing at another set with his weapon, twirling like a confused, frightened and somehow effective whirlpool.

Xavier tried his best to actually attack the remaining zombies left. However, he felt himself come up empty as he threw his glaive. It arched wrong, missing the ones standing completely as it curved back towards him. Grunting he caught the large bladed weapon, holding it at the ready should he have the opportunity to try again.

Eilidh watched as zombies filled the hallway again. Nucleo missed, Amonee nailed a bunch of them and then Xavier missed. There were only three left. The tealblood gripped her weapon tightly, charging at the hideous undead creatures. She had to protect her friends! She had to take these last few out or at least try!

"Stop!" Nucleo yelled at the zombie on him. He managed to fend it off and kicked it to the ground, stepping on it's back. His eyes blazed as he faced the remaining zombies and began to blitz around the area in a fury. He was going to keep everyone safe- he was going to protect the ones he loved! This time he wouldn't hold back. His pumpbiscuit raced as he realized just how dear to him these trolls were. He'd already known, sure, but he could feel it even stronger now. He would not let them down. Smashing the final zombie down, the greenblood let out a breath.

"Is everyone okay?" Once more he waited for confirmation before they moved on.
