Shun stepped onto the edge of the mat, rolling his shoulders lightly before getting into position.

"What sort of fighting are we talking about?" he asked. A straight up brawl or something more? He paused, thinking back to a thing or two, then shook his head. He shifted into a defensive stance, staring down at Alg, sizing him up. For now, he patiently waited to see what the older man would do.

"Fighting a fetch," His voice was low but he knew there was no one else around. It was fairly self explanatory that hand to hand with a supernatural zombie was certainly no fun and Shun had done a fair share at the ball..

It also, if he remembered, hadn't gone well.

He watched the young man hold the defensive but not move. There was no point standing around though so the older man pressed forward with a couple of testing jabs, prodding at Shun's defense.

Shun's finger twitched at the memory. He had gotten his a** handed to himself by Beel at the ball. Fighting one daily during the trial did not sound particularly pleasant. But... possibly good training.

He said nothing else for now, as he was in the zone now. He watched Algernon carefully, and as the older man moved towards him with a few jabs, he shifted himself, dodging the strikes fairly easily. After those, he switched gears, tossing a few swift jabs of his own back at him.

Alg didn't do a ton of dodging. His head bobbed to avoid things but mostly he blocked and deflected solidly with his arms. Shun was certainly fast and it would be work to keep up the pace against him, but as Alg circled and threw some alternating strikes, a feint mixed in, it was clearly he wasn't (at least for now) entirely out-classed.

Shun shifted slightly to avoid the first two strikes. The feint caught him, but he was still able to react in time to block the follow up.

But then he aimed a low kick to Alg's legs before moving in with a stronger body punch.

Shun would find that Alg didn't kick. He didn't even attempt kicking but after the one he recieved that stronger body punch would be met with not only a solid body behind it, but the younger man essentially being grappled.

Shun may weasel out of Alg's grip but he was strong and heavy and with the right momentum he may be able to take the other down to the mat.

His blows had connected but his target was incredibly solid. And then he found himself within the older man's grasp. Shun furrowed his brow as he was now caught and on his way of getting brought down to the mat. Rather than trying to fight against it, he attempted to shift himself to try and reverse this take down, essentially using Algernon's weight and momentum against him if possible.

Instead of them both going down Alg could feel the reversal and instead let go. Perhaps they'd both bobble a bit, but he took a step back.

"I don't do kicking. Not much of a secret," He chuckled, "Though please continue on."

He may not find all the kicks so easily taken in the future. The break had the older man taking a breath, perhaps a momentary gap in his defense while he prepared to go at it again.

Shun stepped back to keep his balance after Alg released him. He nodded curtly to the older man in acknowledgement.

While Algernon took the moment to take a breath, Shun did not. He was soon right back in on the offensive, starting with a feint of his own to try and goad the older man to strike back.

The feint and his short break earned Alg a few strickes to the body and it was enough to have him striking back, this time with enough power that any hit landed probably smarted and maybe was a bit staggering.

But speed, again, was not in his favor.

Shun moved to avoid the brunt of the strike. Though, even Alg's glancing blow was fairly substantial. That would have hurt, had it been a direct hit.

Letting out a breath, he launched a quick jab, then stepped back. There was no reason for him to exhaust himself by constantly being on the offensive.

Shun backing up missed another strike from Alg but he didn't let that mean anything. The older man pressed forward, not allowing Shun a break. He may not have been speedy but he was a force to be reckoned with and didn't seem to stop.

Perhaps this would be his drive, repeated strikes without stop, not letting the other relax yet.

Seeing how Alg was not going to relent, Shun grunted and shifted right in towards one of his strikes. He brought a hand up to deflect the fist before attempting to grab a hold of his wrist to try and pull the older man forward. All the while his knee came up to meet his midsection.

Alg was pulled into the knee and took it. He made a very undignified sound but it didn't take him down. Instead his arms wrapped around Shun, one around the knee and the other around the younger man's bracing leg.

Shun was lifted like a sack of potatoes and slammed onto his back.

Unfortunately for Alg though, the knee he hadn't been quite braced enough for and he was now feeling it.

Up went Shun before he was slammed onto the mat. Letting out a loud grunt from the impact, it took him a moment or so to recover from that before he began to wail away at Alg to try and get him off.
