"Of course." sighed Suzume, not having even taken two steps before a bunch of men came at her. They seemed to not really have any skills, just numbers. It shouldn't be too hard to deal with them, but now Suzume was on alert on the off chance one of them was a suicide bomber.

Drawing her sword, Suzume began stepping forward and began slicing and stabbing at the men. Since they were coming from inside, they really did not have much room to move. They would just flow out in one direction, right into her blade as it sliced and stabbed, aiming for their heads and bodies, slicing through muscle and bone if they got caught in her attack.

A single step or series of steps forward, meant to add a great deal of power to offensive attacks. While it is quick, it is still one of the slower movements in the Style.

Brush Stroke
Simple :: B-Rank
A series of quick cuts that eclipse the Calligraphy technique in both speed and depth, but are much more difficult to work with. The cuts now pierce all the way through muscles, and can cut in to bone. This technique can only be seen by people with a speed rank higher than the user’s own.

Bodies and groaning men littered the entrance, most of them falling instantly. Not many followed after seeing the carnage she reaped, retreating back into the entrance and down the hall's steep entrances. They left a string of blood from their wounded, leading directly down.

Once the bodies stopped coming, Suzume whipped her katana to the side, letting the blood slip off before she cleaned it with her sleeve. Looking down to the men still alive, she told them "Stop the bleeding if you can and go get help. If not... then I'm sorry for your suffering." Admittedly, she had never taken a life before and all of this carnage was affecting her a little. All she could do was push it from her mind and keep going.

Keeping her sword out, Suzume carefully stepped into the cave, eyes and ears trained for any traps that might activate. She'd follow the trail of blood the other men had left behind and begin her descent down the base.

"Master Samuru! Its a woman! With a sword!" Samuru looked up from where he sat, drinking a small cup of sake as his men rushed in, dragging an already dead man into the room. With a sigh, he returned to his tea, long dark hair falling around his shoulders "Alert the others. I shall attempt to hold her here." with quick nods, they took off, leaving the body of their dead lying in a corner. He made a face and turned his back on it, facing the entrance and setting up for a guest. He placed a second cup and poured sake into it, settling back and looking up to wait and greet they intruder.

No traps just yet... surprising but Suzume still kept her guard up. The blood trail continued on into a room where there was a long haired man waited. There were two cups placed on the table, one she could guess was for her. "If you are going to attempt to bargain with me, I'm afraid it won't work." said Suzume, sword still in hand as she cautiously approached the other.

Samuru simply drank his sake, looking at her, and motioned to the opposite cup "I'm well aware of that. However, I wish to finish my sake before we engage in our fight. You may join me if you wish. I should take only a few more minutes." he poured another cup for himself and sipped it, looking at her pleasantly "My name is Samuru. I am the 9th boss of this area. And you are...?" he asked, sipping deeper from his cup.

It seemed like a reasonable request, although Suzume was hesitant to actually drink any herself. Still, she took a seat at the table, carefully laying her sword on her lap. He seemed pleasant enough, but Suzume knew she could not let that affect her. "I am Suzume. I'm sure you already know I've been sent here to kill all of those in charge." Her hand reached out and gently grasped the sake cup, but she still did not take a drink.

"I am very aware." Samuru smiled ruefully at her, appearing slightly sad about the whole thing. He sighed mournfully, taking another sip of his cup "Its a pity. But I know you shinobi type are often beset with missions and responsibility. A dangerous desire to do the right thing." he poured another cup and paused, seeing she hadn't taken a drink of her's just yet "You don't like sake?" he reached out and removed the cup from her grasp, dumping the contents on the ground and then filled it with more sake from the same bottle he filled his own with. He sipped from his cup once more, brushing his hair back behind his ear. As his hair moved, a curled horn tip, down near his collar bone was briefly revealed, indicating a long set of horns that came down from the side of his head. He was an Oni. Which might explain the sake and his love of it.

Perhaps this was why shinobi usually attacked out of nowhere, time spent speaking with people made it harder to do the deed. "True." replied Suzume, saying nothing more in turn to the other's musings. When asked if she liked sake, Suzume watched carefully as he poured her cup out "I do, actually. It's just after a scout committed suicide with a poison tablet and your other friend killed himself trying to kill me... I'm just a little wary at the moment." So far the sake did not seem to be having an effect on the other. Either it really was safe or he had some sort of immunity. Taking the cup back after he refilled it, Suzume took a small sip and waited to see if anything would happen.

When his hair was moved aside, she immediately spotted the tip of a horn that curled down. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you're an oni. I should have guessed since my own kage is one." sighed Suzume, taking another small sip of sake, not too much since this brand might be much stronger than what she was used to. "I don't suppose that you'll surrender peacefully?"

"Mmm. Extreme loyalist, 10 and many of our underlings are....were." Samuru mused, clearly not concerned "I am not so weak as to give into such desires. I rather like living as it allows me the joy of sake." His cup stopped on the way to his lips as she mentioned her kage being an Oni "Ah....I'm guessing you're speaking of Kinpaku. She is the only Oni kage I am aware of....." he sipped his cup pensively, pondering this revelation "Kinni....she always did have a streak of strangeness through her. Comes from who her parents were I suppose." he poured himself another cup but chuckled brightly at her suggestion of surrendering peacefully "And I suppose you'll offer me some kind of leniency if I do? Life in prison rather then death? Is that the way of it then?" he put the bottle down, revealing for a moment that much of it was gone. Only about a quarter of it remained "Give me reason to surrender and I shall, willingly, let you pass." he looked at her, his eyes dark and deep. His long black hair swirled around him now, pale hands holding the cup between two delicate fingers. He was a slender thing to be an Oni.....but appearances were deceiving.

Extreme loyalists. Suzume would have wished to avoid killing those that were not her targets, but it would not be that easy. She grimaced as the other spoke of Kinpaku, finding it harder to want to kill him. "I guess all Oni know of each other?" asked the red head, interested in hearing about her Raikage. From the sounds of it, there was not much sake left, perhaps an indication of how much time she had left before violence broke out.

When asked for a reason, Suzume was silent for a moment. She had a mission to do, it was her job to be loyal to her village. But did she not also have to be loyal to herself? Suzume would give it her all and risk her life for her village, but she was not sure if she could sacrifice her own feelings to become the perfect samurai. "... despite working for a group responsible for evil acts. You don't actually seem bad to me. It might be a trick, a ploy to get me to drop my guard... but I still feel you deserve a chance. If you surrender, I will not fight you. I will instead escort you back to the village and do all that I can so that you will be allowed to keep your life. But if you fight or betray me... we will fight. I am one of the best swordsmen in the Cloud country and I know many techniques. The battle will be brutal and harsh and I will kill you."

That last part was indeed a promise. Since despite not feeling the desire to kill this man, she would not die by his hands or by anyone's hands any time soon. Bringing the sake cup to her lips, she drank the rest of it before setting the cup aside and looking to him, this time her gaze soft and pleading "So please, just surrender and come with me to Cloud after I am finished here."


OOC: Considering it's an assassination mission, I don't think so. But I can make up the points later.

He listened patiently to her before replying "Hardly. Kinni is my first cousin. We Oni wander where ever the fighting and sake take us." It pained him to hear such a lovely young woman speak of killing and such but he supposed it was all to be expected "Very well. I surrender." he finished his cup and placed it down, folding his hands in his lap as he smiled, all peaceful like, at her "Its not like I've the legs to stand and defend this place anyway." he chuckled, withdrawing something from under his robes. A smooth wooden....leg. He placed it on the ground between them, careful of the joint that allowed it to appear as a bended knee "But be warned...we've added a leader to our ranks since my unfortunate loss. He's only recently joined us, a day ago. Come back, if you're not dead, and we shall drink more, yes?" Samuru raised his cup to her and filled it again.

Perhaps if her life had been different, Suzume would not be a shinobi and forced to kill. But that was all speculation at this point. She was her father's child, she would become a great swordswoman and she would serve her village as her father had.

Suzume, not too noticeably, relaxed after Samuru said he would surrender. It was a relief actually, that she would not have to kill such a kind man. And hopefully Kinpaku would look favorably upon her cousin and spare him. The red head raised a brow as the other fished inside his robes for something. The wooden leg was a surprise but it also saddened her a bit that he had lost his real leg.

The information of a new leader was interesting, she was sure that Kinpaku would want him eliminated as well. Smiling, Suzume stood and bowed to the oni "Don't worry, I will come back and have another drink with you. And thank you for surrendering." It honestly made her happy, and it gave her hope that there was still some good in people, even if they were designated as enemies.

With her katana in hand, she walked past Samuru and headed down to the next floor. Despite how happy she felt, Suzume immediately moved back into a more serious attitude, eyes and ears alert for any enemies or traps.

Atsushi: Boss

Waiting for Suzume at the next level was a freezing circular room, a single woman standing in the middle. Every inch of the room was covered in ice, thick spires rising up at some points and stalactites and stalagmites touched tips. She walked around, hands moving sharply as she stretched and prepared for the fight to come Come woman. I'll strike you down like Samuru could not! she glowered angrily at the entry way, her heated gaze the only source of heat in the room.

With her blade in hand, Suzume stepped continued down to the next level. As she went further down, she began noticing that it was getting cooler. Then when she finally reached the room, the red head noticed ice was everywhere and a woman was the only one there. "Just give up and your death with be swift and painless." she said, giving the other one chance to spare herself from the pain of battle. Beyond that, there would be no other warning and the battle would begin.
