Eterna City was a much nicer setting than Snowpoint. It had this old historic feel to it without the cold which was something Lafayette greatly appreciated. It gave him the opportunity to better dry off without falling ill in the process. Dova made a better landing this time, seeming to catch on that her trainer was agitated with her at that any more foolishness would probably result in disciplinary action. It was still rough but as Lafayette hopped off her back he gave her a bit of an approving nod. Anything to lighten the mood was alright with her.

The city was honesty pretty interesting. There was another gym –of course- but besides that there were old buildings and statues of pokemon that reached towards the sky. Lafayette found himself standing in front of one of them, studying the strange design of a four-legged legendary with horns or some such jutting from the side of its head. There was another one close by, this one looming on two legs with a similar sort of armored design to it. There were plaques on the fronts of each statue, detailing exactly who and what they were but well… there was no comprehending that for Lafayette. Which was a real shame, because he would’ve very much liked to have known what the pokemon in question were.

After spending some time staring at the statues, running a hand over the engraved plaques and even attempting to translate the words to no avail, he set back to his intended work. He was enjoying the atmosphere of the city. It was kind of like his hometown of Anville but more… rustic. Even with it’s out of the way placement, his home town was still bustling with life due to the Battle Subways that ran from it. With the rail yard though, it would probably be a very barren place. Would he have minded? Mmm… yeah. That technically why he’d left in the first place. As much as he enjoyed working the rails with his father or helping tend to the trainers on the subway or even doing repair work for the residents around the small town, the ultimate fact was that it became a dull routine day after day. Something that Lafayette had never really appreciated. He liked change and adventures and challenges…

Which was probably how he’d ended up working for a guy like Juliean in the first place. The man had made such promises and so far… he’d kind of told the truth. Kind of. It’d been a while sense Lafayette had actually done anything terribly interesting and this sudden venture into sending him out and about like he was some common trainer was a tad bit confusing. But he assumed the man had his reasoning and over the year of working for him, had come to discover there was no point in asking questions. At least not about the work he was doing. Even now, as he wandered the city looking for a specific area to get these readings, he was curious but knew better then to inquire. Both because there would be no answers or some lewd remarks that really had no importance to the situation at hand and because it would result in more tedious work as retaliation. Which he didn’t really want to have happen. Again.

Beep, beep, beep! And done! Lafayette was grateful that Juliean had provided this program thing to do the searching and scanning because who knew how long it would take if he had to just do this by hand. It was already troublesome enough to just try and locate the place; having to dig around and find samples or whatever would’ve taken a crazy amount of time.
Stifling a yawn –all this travel was starting to get to him- he clicked his device and did a check. The data was still transferring but soon the screen cleared up as the last destination on the map appeared, a bit of a grin crossing the blonde’s face. The last destination was Opelucid which was right in Unova. Great! That was the perfect place to end off at. Once he’d finished there he could head right back to the festival, assuming his boss had nothing else for him to do. And with how peaceful it’d been so far, that would probably be the case. Probably. Hopefully.
Giving a whistle, Dova once more appeared from circling around in the sky. She’d taken to getting a better view of the statues with Noah while Lafayette did his searching. Mounting up once more, he shifted her in the right direction and took flight for Opelucid. He was looking forward to being almost done…

As they drew closer to landing Alexandra managed to peek her head up from Aja's shoulder, face slightly ashen, and looked out with recognition at Eterna City. It'd been some time since she'd been here, and although she doubted she'd be able to do any real site seeing the girl was just grateful that the weather here was rather mild. They landed and this time around Aja waited for Alexandra to withdraw herself before she hopped down and stretched, relaxing the muscles in her shoulders and legs. "I took the liberty of landing near a pokecenter," she informed the other, pointing out the red building a few feet away. "You'll want to heal your pokemon while you have the chance, I imagine you'll be fighting more people." With her advice given Aja gave a salute before she walked away, her stroll quick but not urgent-- she didn't give off the air that she was in a rush to look for something.
Alexandra watched as Aja moved away, her gaze eventually falling onto Tropius, who simply shrugged and rolled its eyes as if to say, 'what can you do?' The brunette thought a moment before realizing that there wasn't much she could do, and after a bit of inner lamenting turned to head into the pokecenter to have her team healed. After handing Nurse Joy her pokeballs the woman began contemplating simply leaving Aja, she hadn't forgotten how she'd basically been forced into working with the girl, but after some thought she decided against it. Aja had been persistent, annoyingly so, before they'd even started out, no good could come from simply leaving now.

Once her pokemon were healed Alexandra did a quick switch of her team, swapping out Xion and Amethyst for Faye and Siemens, they two were in need of some training and would be useful to her in her next gym battle. During the switch she made certain to return to Siemens his sash, untying it from around Amethyst's forearm and tying it back around his body. He gave a squeak, pleased to be reunited with his beloved accessory, before he settled down once again, nestling down onto Alexandra's shoulder.
The brunette stepped out of the pokecenter and back into the city, where she was greeted by the sight of a suspicious man circling Tropius, one hand cupped over his chin. "Excuse me, sir." She approached him quickly, her eyes narrowing gently. "Might I ask what you're doing?" The man faltered, head lifting up to settle his gaze onto Alexandra. "None of your business," he answered shortly. "I believe it is. That's my companion's pokemon and I don't think she'd appreciate you--""Companion, huh?" The man interrupted her, a spark of interest now in his eyes. "This 'companion' of yours, where might she be?" Alexandra pursed her lips before she reached up to adjust her glasses, placing them back onto the bridge of her nose. "I wouldn't know." The man heaved a sigh before he pulled a pokeball out from his trench coat. "So that's how it's gonna be, huh? Fine then! I'll just make you tell me."

Alexandra watched as the man grit his teeth and returned his Zigzagoon, anger burning in his eyes. At the very least he'd been able to damage Caldo, but it was a hollow victory given the amount of damage he'd actually been able to deliver. Alexandra simply raised an eyebrow when the man introduced a Pinsir, yet another bug type and a poor combatant for a fire-type; though she doubted her needed the lesson on type advantages. The brunette nodded in approval when Caldo looked to her to see if he could continue battling, it wasn't as if this man was providing them with much of a challenge.

Alexandra was prepared to recall Caldo to the sidelines, give another pokemon a chance to train, when a bright light enveloped his body and his form began to shift. With some shock the brunette watched as her starter evolved into his final form, a cry of triumph leaving the primate once the light had died and he'd rematerialized. Alexandra looked over Caldo's form with a nod, resisting the urge to pull out her pokedex and read up on his new evolution-- after all, they were still in the midst of a battle. Sticking to her original plan the brunette recalled Caldo and looked expectantly at the battle field where a Growlithe now waited. She scrutinized it curiously before, taking a chance, she sent out Faye, though it was a risk, sending her pokemon out against such an obvious type disadvantage, she had a hunch; one that proved to be true as Faye managed to knock the pokemon out with one attack, suffering minimum damage from the recoil.
"I suggest you leave now," Alexandra spoke up once it became clear that the man didn't have another pokemon on his person. The man growled, his eyes narrowing dangerous, but at the approach of Tropius, its wings batting in warning, he decided to heed her advice and turned tail, shooting Alexandra one last over-the-shoulder glare before he disappeared from sight. Alexandra gave a soft sigh afterwards, giving herself a moment to recompose herself, before she shot Tropius a grateful look. The pokemon responded in kind before its gaze turned to Caldo, who was busily staring at his new look from the window of the Pokecenter. Alexandra chuckled at her starter and, while he checked himself out, began to apply a potion to him and Faye, returning the latter soon after.
A few minutes later Aja returned, bearing a triumphant grin. She looked over at Alexandra, instantly taking note of Caldo beside her. "Oh hey, your starter evolved. Congratulations." The young woman waited for Alexandra to return Caldo before she pulled herself back onto Tropius, though she leaned back to offer Alexandra a hand back up. With a grunt she pulled the other up and then exhaled softly, giving Tropius a soft nudge with her foot to get it into the air. "Only six more places to go~"

Melinda looked up as they left Oreburgh and started on the route to Eterna City. At least they were making decent time, but she had a feeling she wouldn't be able to get on the train before dark. Which meant it might not hurt to stop in one of the next towns to get some food, maybe do a little researching. "Maybe we'll stop in Eterna and see if we can get some books or pamphlets or something for you," she remarked, looking back to Lucy, who perked up. She pulled out her pokedex, looking it over curiously. "I wonder if Fenris could program this thing to hold that kind of information...." she mused thoughtfully.

"Thank you so much for that, Bri," she remarked with sarcastic amusement. He grinned, giving a big gesture with both his arms out to the sides. "Sure thing! Any time!" he replied boisterously. He dropped his arms back down, finishing off his chips and crumpling up the bag. "No but, if you do need help, I can try and assist some," he remarked, looking the bag over thoughtfully, and then gazing around for a garbage bin as they entered Eterna. Mel eyed him a bit. She wasn't really sure how much to trust his judgement on that kind of thing...

Then again, he was sort of her only option. She shrugged, looking up as they neared the other side of the city. ".... Hold on, I'm going to run back and see if I can grab some books real quick," she decided, after waffling on the matter for a moment. Brian raised his eyebrows, but shrugged compliantly and stuffed his hands into his pockets, now that his chip bag was thrown away. Z shuffled off to the side, so was not to block the path for any of the people walking around, while Mel quickly took off, running back towards some of the shops. Lucy, at least, was smart enough to jump off her shoulder, but tagged along, running along the ground with her to try and help find some supplies. They could just read the books while they were walking to the next town, after all.
