Once more though before he could finish his testing, Sherlock and Mattimeo returned with egg in tow. Noel blinked, looking surprised; they were getting a lot faster at the whole finding thing; maybe they were fortunate enough to be hitting locations that hadn’t quite been visited yet? If there were a bunch of people doing the event then it helped to go to locations that weren’t immediately populated. He wasn’t sure how popular Unova or Sinnoh where, but it was nice to get first dibs before the crowds rolled in. Taking the egg from the pair, he sent it in and they started back for the rider once more.

A colourful egg, that promises prizes once it and it's brethren were found. During their meal Avikna noticed something odd about Tay, almost right away. The teen seemed rather down in the dumps. feeding Freya a piece of lettuce, over feeding herself. "Whats on your mind?" Asked asked after taking a sip of her beverage. Tay glanced up for a moment before looking back at Freya. "I'm not a very good trainer am I?" She asked, warranting a raised brow from Avikna. The red-head soon shook her head, leaning forward some. "No you're not. But no one is when they first start being a trainer." Avikna stated. Tay looked up, her expression filled with anger. "But that boy only had one Pokemon and it nearly beat me. Same with the last few battles I've had against trainers." She stated firmly. Avikna leaned back, rather put off guard by Tay's outburst. Taking in a deep breath, the red head shook her head slowly. " Not everyone is on the same skill level as others either, Tay. Those trainers were basically stuck in place, you've been on the move this whole time, so you haven't had the chance to properly focus on training like they have." Avikna voiced. "I didn't get to be as strong as I am over night either." She added. Tay glanced away, though a sigh suggested she'd understood Avikna's point.

Resting a hand on Tay's shoulder, the Avikna offered her a reassuring grin. "You will get stronger, eventually. I assure you. Have patience. When we get back to Alola we can take as much time as you need to train up your Pokemon." Noting Elias nearby, the red-head motioned towards the bird. "I mean, look at Elias. He's already evolved, that's saying something." Tay glanced over to the bird, as he looked towards her. Swooping up to land on a light post, the bird looked down and hooted. Tay grew back her smile then, nodded her head towards the owl. She then looked back at Avikna and nodded her head once more. "Thanks, Avikna. You're right. I just have to take my time. One day I'll be as strong as you, and then we can battle one another!" She grinned. Avikna replied with a nod. Someday.

Though that day was likely very, very far away. It was good to see Tay with her usual smile, and back to her hyper, happy-go-lucky self. Finally leaving the Pokemon Center, the group headed south towards the mines. Tay and Avikna got a hard hat to wear while they explored the coal piles in search for their next egg. In the meantime there were information providers handing out pamphlets and telling people about the Coal mine and what Coal could do for them, what it does for all of Shinnoh. Demonstrations of machines at work were also a thing. Avikna sort of liked watching the heavy cranes move things about, but Tay seemed to favor Bulldozers. There was even a small instructional exibit on shifting for precious minerals like gold, to which Tay took part in with Cotee and Freya. It was turning out to be a busy afternoon.

Heading up north towards the bike trail, the group found themselves in a small valley with a small patch of grass, other trainers were there as well, which could mean eggs had been found there. Heading towards the tall grass, Tay knelled down and began to venture through the grass like the others, while Avikna waited for Tay's return by Mave and Arietty. The wait wasn't long, as Freya found the next egg, carrying it over to Tay. "Good work, Freya!" Tay chuckled, picking up the mouse and setting her on her shoulder, before grabbing the egg and placing it into her bag with the rest. Returning to Avikna, the red-head congratulated Tay. The sounds of construction and digging rang out into the air as Zero flew into town, the settlement physically carved into the earth. It wasn't an unexpected sight though--Cities usually sprung up around mines and dig sites like this. It even seemed pretty vibrant, for a place who's landscape is almost entirely grey stone.

Landing near the pokemon center, a part of the young man wasn't really sure where to go looking.
