First thing Ajicka did when she arrived in Sinnoh was check out the gyms, and confirm she was in the right place. Eterna City housed the second gym, which, ironically, was a grass gym. This was ironic specifically because Ajicka was currently in possession of an overwhelming number of fire types. In fact, in starters alone she nearly had them all, save.... what... two? You'd think she was starting a collection. Speaking of which, she still needed to figure out what to... do with them all. There was that torchic from the haunted house... She'd pretty much taken Fritz in, he was with her now, and Monferno... Well, she was pretty sure she couldn't get rid of him, and she wasn't sure she wanted to. Well, maybe if she found a better home for him, but for now she wasn't going to look to get rid of him. He seemed to be settling in and she wasn't going to betray him by shipping him off elsewhere unless it was where he wanted to go.
And then there was houndoom, who she actually planned to use for this gym battle. In fact, that was the second thing she did-- she switched his pokeball back into her active party.

Once she had settled down and taken care of her initial things, Ajicka released Houndoom, Fritz, Elle, and the torchic. Her attention went first to the two trained fire starters, her arms crossed over her chest, while the torchic waited quietly off to the side, watching and glancing nervously, a few times, at Houndoom. Fritz, too, who had never seen the hell hound, was staring up at him in awe, leaning away-- and promptly falling over. Ajicka, who had just been about to speak, closed her mouth, and her eyes, giving the fox a moment to scramble back to his feet. Houndoom simply blinked and looked at him, clearly oblivious to the cause of his clumsiness. Ajicka opened her eyes after a moment, finally addressing the two.
"Alright, this place has grass types," she started, nodding her head in the general direction of the gym, "And its not very difficult... at all. So you two interested in a little extra training?" She raised an eyebrow, the two fire pokemon exchanging looks. Fritz gave a ready nod, and Houndoom shifted, lowering his head and giving a much more subtle bounce of his muzzle. Yeesh... She was getting flashbacks to Jas' earlier days...

Shaking her head a bit, Ajicka shifted her focus to the next matter at hand, the torchic. She turned, dropping one hand to her side with the other on her hip, staring down at the now nervous looking bird, who chirped a little and glanced around. "I didn't mean to take you this far from where I found you, but if you want, I can take you back and release you there, I--"'Ajicka, can't we look after her?' The girl frowned, turning to her gardevoir, who was gazing pleadingly back at her. 'She doesn't have anywhere to go...' Ajicka's lips pressed together, and for a good long moment, she just stared at Elle. Finally, though, she sighed, turning back to the torchic, and gesturing absently to the side. "Do you want to come with us? I can't promise how much training you can do, but--""Tor! Tor torchic!" the pokemon quickly interrupted, flapping her little wings.
Ajicka took that as an eager acceptance of her terms, and she nodded. "I'm going to go ahead and return you for now, alright?" she added, raising an eyebrow, and the chick pokemon nodded, before disappearing into the pokeball. Well... at least that was handled...

Scarlett took the opportunity to se-situate herself too, after all, the punch he'd delivered to her side wasn't something she could just blow off either. She huffed, shooting a glare at the psychotic clown that he probably couldn't see at this point, but she didn't care. He moved suddenly again, flinging more of his razor sharp cards in her direction. Scarlett jumped to dodge to her right, but as she looked back to watch Klepto, she noticed he was gone. The cards were a distraction, which meant--
The moment Scarlett looked to her right, it was already too late. Klepto was already at her side and halfway through a roundhouse kick of his own, which sent Scarlett flying forwards. She cursed, scrambling to get back to her feet. Koga gave her some assistance and protection as more cards were thrown their way, or at least Scarlett assumed they were from the clangs and tings of metal bouncing off metal. Scarlett took the opportunity to whirl around Koga and fire back with Roxanne, but it seemed Klepto had put his own shields up with a Mr. Mime using psychic barriers. "Tch. Koga, take care of it." Scarlett ordered. Koga didn't need to be told twice. He smartly targeted the portion of the barrier that Scarlett's bullets had weakened and then struck it with a bullet punch to shatter the barrier and break through to the fairy type, continuing to throw more bullet punches to knock it out. With her own barrier gone though, Scarlett was left open for Klepto to throw more cards at her. Scarlett was able to dodge most, though one grazed her shoulder, causing her to hiss in pain.

Stepping outside, Ajicka briefly sorted through her purchases, then tucked them away, releasing Torchic again. The pokemon blinked, ruffled her feathers, and then looked up Ajicka curiously. Clearly, she was surprised to find herself out again, after Ajicka's whole speech. "I wanted to give you this," she explained, crouching down to put the little exp share on the pokemon. Torchic chirped and looked at it, flapping her little wings a bit. "Like I said, I probably won't be able to actually train you for a while, but this should help you get stronger while I train the others," she explained, then straightened back up, "We'll see how it does after the gym battle." Torchic stopped examining her accessory and looked up, giving another little nod. "Tor!" she replied in understanding. Giving an appreciative bob of her own head, Ajicka returned the little fire chicken and started off towards the gym. She didn't expect this to take long at all. Even though Houndoom didn't have the hardest hitting fire attack, he was high enough level for it to do some damage, and the potential side effects boosted its worth.
Aside from that, Fritz did have a rather high powered fire attack. Speaking of, though, she went ahead and switched their items, so that Houndoom's Fire Fang would get the boost from Choice Band, and Fritz's fire attacks could gain a little extra with the charcoal. With that, she strolled into the gym, announcing and introducing herself, before beginning the battle.

Unfortunately that's not in our comfort level, so I guess as the saying goes, we need to get out of the kitchen." She chuckled, handing Ajicka her forest badge. "Here you are, proof that you've beaten me, but also, if you ever find yourself looking to "ground" your opponents..." She pulled out the TM for grass knot. "I'd highly recommend this TM. It's grass knot, a good move for heavier opponents. The bigger they are, the harder they fall." Gardenia grinned. "Good luck dear, and do try not to burn the plants on the way out." She simpered, turning her attention to the plants that had been singed during their battle.

Nodding, Ajicka moved forward, trying not to respond to the puns the leader was handing out. She took the badge, raising an eyebrow at the... 'word play'? Still, she gave an appreciative nod as she took the TM, putting both away and then giving a wave, turning to step back out, grabbing the fire pokemon's pokeballs. "We're gonna head off to the next gym," she informed them, holding Fritz's and Houndoom's pokeballs by her side as she looked at the two, "Fritz, you and Elle will probably handle it for the most part--" She heard an excited little squeal from the gardevoir behind her-- "And then we'll see how things go from there. We may just keep going until we can't go much further, and then shift gears to train or something." She raised an eyebrow at them to be sure they understood, and once she got a nod from each, returned them, then turned to Elle.
She tried not to sigh at the grin her pokemon was giving her. 'Thank you, Ajicka! I promise I won't let you down!' she chimed excitedly, hands pressed together by her chest. Ajicka lowered her eyelids, her mouth thinning. "I know you won't," she replied, a bit torn. Elle seemed to happy to notice-- or perhaps care, in this rare case --and Ajicka returned her, releasing Fearow. He gave her a look, making her stop and stare back at him. There was something very haughty in his expression, and after a moment, she threw her gaze up and moved to climb on. "If you want to train, just say so, idiot," she muttered. He closed his eyes, then, without opening them, took off.

It was annoying to see that Klepto wasn't here any longer, or perhaps even had never actually been here at all, just sending his pokemon after her with his Zoroark acting his part. Damn that clown... Damn him damn him DAMN HIM! Scarlett turned, wild eyed at the remaining two pokemon. One xatu and one cradily huh? Yeah, they could take these small fry. Koga turned slightly to Scarlett, inclining his head upwards to give the indication that he was listening for her command. "Take the xatu first. We'll deal with tha cradily next." Scarlett commanded shortly. Koga nodded, and he was off. Scarlett then turned her attention to the Zoroark next to her. He was out cold, but he might make for a useful hostage, unless Klepto cared for his pokemon as little as he did his alliances. She moved closer, testing the Zoroark's weight. A bit heavy to lug around, but she could probably have Koga carry him or something.
Then again that would make him rather obvious to see. If only this Zoroark wasn't already caught. She would catch him in a heartbeat, but alas.... Scarlett scoffed. It was too bad. That illusion ability would be nice to have around. Ultimately deciding against dragging Klepto's Zoroark around, she turned her attention back to Koga, who just finished taking out the xatu.

Scarlett was pleasantly surprised however to see that it was actually Zak, though she was curious if he was calling her up for his favor, or if he was just checking in. Training has been great, but unfortunately I've run into more than a few.... Complications in terms of making progress towards the next gym. We're more than ready to take it on, it's just... Physically being able to get there has not actually been possible yet.
