By the time Grayson finished up his conversation with his commander the teen found himself in a new city, his eye scanning the town to take in its sights. It seemed he'd come into some business town, giving the many factories he spotted, and after a bit of searching he found a sign that welcomed him to Oreburgh. "The city of energy," he read aloud. "Stoker!" A muffled voice rang out into the air. "Oh, right..." So he hadn't exactly 'finished' his conversation, in his haste to stop the interactions he'd forgotten that he hadn't actually hung up yet.

Placing the phone back to his ear Grayson turned away from the sign and turned to the city itself. "I'm still here," he assured the man on the other line. "Good. I've thought it over and I'll approve your request for items, a shipment should come your way soon. What's your location?" Grayson repeated the name of the city. "Oreburgh? I thought we stationed you in the Kanto region." Quickly running his fingers through one side of his hair he started moving down to the city, careful of the natural slope the road took. "I didn't exactly have a 'designated region', sir. Besides, this is just a detour. I'll be back in Kanto by tomorrow." There was silence on the other line, and in that time Grayson began to enter the city, the hustle and bustle of the 'city of energy' reaching his ears.

"Fine then. Make sure you're back by tomorrow, when you do I'll have an assignment ready for you." Already? Damn, and he'd just gotten out here too. Of course, he didn't think to complain and instead only grunted to communicate that he understood. "Your shipment should be there in an hour, at the pokecenter. Make sure you're there to accept it." Grayson gave a nod, inwardly wondering just what he could do in this city to take up an hour. "Right. Thanks." Rather than hang up Grayson waited for his commander to do so, sighing afterwards before he slipped his work phone back into his pocket.

Well, he'd gotten what he'd wanted. Now he just needed to wait.

What to do for an hour... That was the predicament Grayson found himself in, and although he found himself surrounded by many points of interest none of them interested him. He could always search for opponents for his pokemon, but he wasn't exactly sure if the majority of them were strong enough to handle the city's wild inhabitants. Then again... They did have pokecenter's set out here for a reason.

After a bit of walking Grayson eventually found himself in a more desolated area, and rather than immediately begin searching for a pokemon he turned his attention to Magikit. "You learn a lot from that last battle?" he asked him, looking at the feline from the corner of his eye. Magikit stifled a yawn before he nodded and rubbed at his eyes, "Magi." Grayson's eye twitched before he yawned himself, one hand reaching up to cover his mouth. "Well, I want you to try a hand at battlin'. If it gets to be too much I'll have someone else take over." Magikit seemed to think things over, his large head tilting from side to side, nearly toppling himself over at one point, before he gave a slow nod.

"Great." Grayson looked out before he turned his eye towards an approaching Machop. "There's your first opponent. Go get him." Magikit peered out curiously at the strange pokemon, taking in its form and build, before he slowly pushed himself off of Grayson's shoulder. He hovered in the air for a few seconds before he dropped to the ground like a rock, Grayson just barely managing to catch the pokemon before he hit the ground. "...We'll work on that," he promised, setting him down on the ground before he ushered him forward. "Magi..."

Toddling forward Magikit soon caught the attention of Machop, who instantly shifted into a fighting position. The two stared at each other, Magikit's eyes filled with curiosity and slight apprehension while Machop's only held wariness, before suddenly the fighting-type attacked, extending its foot to try and sweep Magikit's legs. "Magikit!" Unsure how to react, Magikit began to cower and placed his paws over both eyes to try and anticipate the pain.... but it never game. "It phased right through you," Grayson reported from the sidelines, prompting Magikit to slowly drop his paws down to the ground. Nothing was in front of him, the Machop was gone, and after a moment he turned around slowly to find his opponent there, looking as confused as he felt. "Use Confusion." Magikit's ear twitched at the command and, after a moment, hesitantly sent out a weak psychic attack, which instantly knocked out the Machop.

Magikit looked on with wide eyes at the fainted Machop before him, unable to comprehend the fact that he'd just won. He looked down at his paws, as if trying to understand the vast abilities he was capable of, and then looked back towards the Machop. "Yeah, that was all you," Grayson confirmed, just the hint of amusement able to be detected. The teen extended his hand out, motioning for Magikit to return, only to grit his teeth and sink down as the ground beneath him begin to rumble. Behind him his shadow quivered and from its murky depths Morta pulled herself out, clearly irritated with being forced out of her hiding spot.

Magikit took a step forward, to try and return to Grayson, but squeaked when he found himself being lifted up several feet into the air. From eighteen feet below Grayson gave a long, heavy sigh and rubbed his eyes tiredly. "Arceus... really?" Just how had he gotten his pokemon abducted by an Onix? "M-Magi, Magi, Magikit!" From atop the head of the towering Onix Magikit began to panic, his ears falling back in fear. "Morta." The Gengar looked up immediately at her trainer's sharp call. "Take care of this." She nodded before she approached the hulking rock with a glare. She had a bone to pick with this one anyway, she didn't appreciate having been forced out into the open.

It took one single attack for the Onix to fall and, with it, Magikit, "kiiiiiiiit!" Grayson massaged his temples before giving a firm jerk of the head, Morta reacting instantly and streaking towards the falling giant. When the Onix crashed it disrupted dirt into the air, but before the dust had even settled Morta had returned to Grayon's side, in her arms a shivering Magikit. "Ah, you're alright." Ignoring the, almost, traumatized feline's tremors he picked him up and gave him a good dusting off before he looked out past the Onix, where a Machop was slowly climbing over the vast body of the unconscious Onix. "Here. A battle oughta calm you down." Of course there wasn't an exact... statistic on the therapeutic effects of battling--or if there were Grayson certainly wasn't going out of his way to locate them-- but, he was almost sure that there was some truth to it. Maybe.

Just has he'd predicted, if you could even call it that, by the time Magikit had finished his battle he'd managed to calm himself down, the trembling had stopped and the feline was taking normal breaths. Grayson held back from commenting and instead simply extended his hand out to his pokemon as he toddled back over to him, accepting him and placing him back on his shoulder for a chance to recover. Checking the time on his phone Grayson was.. somewhat pleased to find that they'd managed to kill fifteen minutes just from being out here, only forty-five minutes left. His pokemon still needed training, so there was no question about how he'd spend the rest of his time here; however, he did need to figure out whether or not he wanted to pit his team against more wild pokemon, or go out of his way to find a trainer.

After some thought Grayson decided it'd be best to find another trainer and request a battle, even if that meant physically moving himself away. Before he could begin searching, however, he made certain to heal Morta who was sporting a bruise from her tangle with the Onix from before. Once finished Grayson absently tossed his empty potion bottle into the air, catching it before he passed it onto his other hand. "Let's get going," he commanded, starting up a game of solo catch between himself as he began to walk. Morta, after being healed, didn't hesitate to melt back into Grayson's shadow. Meanwhile Magikit peered curiously at the bottle Grayson tossed about, eyes following its back-and-forth movements.

As much 'entertainment' Grayson managed to derive from tossing an empty potion bottle at the first chance he got the male made certain to throw it into a trash can, freeing up his hands and allowing him to stuff them back into the front pocket of his hoodie-- where they belonged. He needed to find another trainer to battle and, although he wasn't in any rush, he preferred to get this out of the way. Luckily he didn't have to go far for a battle, a small grouping of women near the pokecenter, whose ramblings and excited murmurs were enough to create quite the roar, grabbed his attention. Frowning gently Grayson stepped close enough to look into the middle of the group, his height providing him the advantage to peer over the gaggle of women.

"Oh, I'd say I work out about five, six, times a day; when you've got a body like mine you can't afford to remain slack." Grayson wrinkled his nose at the man who stood in the middle of the group, his 'riveting' stories enough to keep the women's attention and cause many of them to 'ooh' and 'aah'. "You beautiful women all look like the type who'd enjoy the sunset from a boat," the man continued and then reached over to take the hand of the nearest woman. "That is why I'd like to personally invite all of you onto my father's yacht this evening, there shall be wine, music, the finest foods from the many regions." His invitation was enough to send the women into a frenzy, many turning to their friends to repeat the news they'd just heard and squeal about it.

Grayson rolled his eyes and could barely hold back from snorting. Figuring this to have been a waste of his time he swiveled his body to turn away, the sight of a Magneton floating by the man's side catching his attention. Was that just for show? Or was this pretty, daddy's boy really a pokemon trainer? Not everyone who had a pokemon qualified as a trainer, he reminded himself, but... considering how unwilling he was to expend too much energy, he figured this was worth investigating. "Let me guess, daddy bought you those pokemon too, right? You're not a real trainer," Grayson asked. Rather than ask out loud, and risk being mobbed by these fangirls, he spoke directly to the male's mind, which certainly worked to gain his attention.

"Who said that!?" His charismatic grin replaced by a frown, the rich boy looked around him wildly, figuring someone had spoken out loud rather than inside his head. "They're all for show. I'd be surprised if you even knew how to use a pokeball." Practically fuming the man made eye contact with Grayson, the only male within the group, and stormed up to him. "I don't know who the hell you think you are, buddy. But, it's obvious that you don't know who I am." Grayson gave a surprised yawn--or as surprised as one could make such a natural reaction--and quirked an eyebrow. "'S'cuse me?" He stepped back, trying to regain some personal space. "Can't say I really know, or care, who you are. I was just walkin' by." The man's eyes widened as Grayson spoke, his voice matching the one he'd heard, which confirmed his suspicions. "Hah! Listen here, you unkempt urchin. Remember this name well: Eustis Morgan, professional pokemon trainer extraordinaire."

Grayson stared down at the man, trying his best not to smile-- after all this was a 'serious moment'-- and once composing himself he gave a sigh. "Fascinatin'. Real interestin'," he drawled. "I've got to go now. You have fun on that, uh, boat ride of yours." The teen reached up to pet Magikit who, as usual, peered at the stranger with wide and curious eyes, before he began to walk away, only to be stopped once more. "Don't think you're weaseling out of this. You've insulted me, now you must pay the ultimate price: battle me."

Well, this had been easier than he had thought. Grayson looked 'Eustis' down for a moment, trying his best to appear reflective, before he finally nodded and stepped back several feet, this time to create an appropriate amount of distance for their battle. He watched Eustis swagger into position, his fans flocking around them. "I've gotta admit, I've never battled with a crowd," Grayson admitted, tossing Charon out at the same time the other male ushered his Magneton forward. "Heh. Hopefully you won't have any performance issues. It'd be a shame if I beat you too easily now." Grayson opened his mouth for a comeback, only to be drowned out by the chorus of cheers of Eustis' fans. "You can do it, Eustis!" "Show that pale freak who he's messing with!" Ouch... 'pale freak'? He had feelings too-- probably... It was hard to tell, sometimes, and he doubted 'sarcasm' truly counted.

The silence that followed the laughable excuse of a first battle was beauty to Grayson's ear, if he could've he would have made a recording of it; title it: "The Silence of the Fangirls". Of course he hadn't won the entire battle yet, Eustis had more than just one pokemon on him, but that small victory alone was enough for Grayson, he was a simple man after all. From inside his bag the male felt his phone vibrate, though withheld from checking it immediately in lieu for switching Charon for Morta as a Chimecho was sent to take its fallen brethren's place. This was either a confirmative text from Void, or Azalea was finally getting back to him. Either way, he'd have to check it after the battle was over. If it was the former he doubted they'd be pleased with being forced to wait, but at the very least this would be a short battle overall-- he'd make sure of that.

After Eustis' second pokemon fell the silence from before was replaced with uncertain murmurs, his fanbase beginning to show doubt. Aware of this the other man could do nothing more than grit his teeth and recall his fainted Chimecho, replacing it with a pokemon Grayson wasn't familiar with. As uninterested as he was in knowing its species he was smart enough to realize that knowing the type of this pokemon would benefit him, and luckily it was rather quickly done with a single scan of his pokedex; so it served as much more than a fancy paperweight. "Fighting, hm?" Grayson turned to look at Magikit before he nudged his head in the direction of the gi wearing pokemon. "You know what to do." With a nod Magikit moved to take on this opponent, though this time he was wise enough to wait for Grayson to help him down onto the ground. There was a series of 'aww's' that followed Magikit's debut to the field and the feline, unsure of how to take such attention, ducked his head down in embarrassment, wringing his paws together before he built up the courage to look back up and focus on his opponent.

Magikit didn't stick around long after he'd defeated his opponent, making a quick retreat back to Grayson once his job was done. Once returned to the teen's shoulder the kitten made it a point of rubbing his cheek against Grayson's face, an act of affection that, although he didn't entirely approve of, the teen didn't dissuade either. "Were these pokemon recently bought?" Grayson called out, genuinely curious as to why this self proclaimed 'pokemon trainer extraordinaire' was carrying around weak pokemon. "Or have all these parties left you with no time to train?" Eustis' eyes narrowed at the same time he dug the heel of his shoe into the gravel, but despite this he managed to keep his lips pressed tightly together and remained silent. "Hm." Grayson hummed thoughtfully before he sent Charon out once more, a good match-up against the rich boy's Cacturne. Did he... even want to win?

The answer to that question, even if it was rhetorical, was a resounding 'no', that or he'd been bluffing about his skill in battle. Grayson closed his eyes, one hand reaching up to rub both, as Charon took out the last of Eustis' pokemon with ease. "Well... I've certainly paid the ultimate price; my lesson has been well learned," Grayson mused as Charon returned to him, as disappointed by the battle as Eustis' fans. They all stood silent, shocked by the clear outcome of the battle, before they all turned to look at Eustis. "Why you... you.. ingrate!" Grayson quirked an eyebrow, absently reaching out to return Charon. "Careful there, throwing a fit here might get dirt on those freshly-pressed clothes of yours." It was always so annoying to see people unable to act their age, especially when it came to childish things such as losing a battle; have a little dignity people, really.

Unwilling to stick around to watch Mt. Eustis erupt Grayson gave a lazy, two-fingered salute before he promptly turned on his heels and strode away. Though his destination was unknown he figured that anywhere, as long as it was within the city, was better than his current location.

Once he was far away enough Grayson tucked himself underneath the shadow of a random building, giving himself a chance to recuperate and wait out the last half of his hour. "Quit getting yourself hurt, it's becoming a pain just healing you," he complained just underneath him and from the shadows on the ground Morta popped out, her trademark grin twisted into a frown. "Get over here," he commanded roughly, dropping down to pull out a potion to treat the Gengar. She stood still long enough to have her wounds treated, guiltily looking down at the ground as she did so, but once treated she quickly slipped back into her trainer's shadow, choosing to mope where no one would see her.

Grayson straightened up with a sigh, taking the empty potion bottle and handing it off to Magikit. "You know, I still need to think of a name for you," he commented absently, pulling his phone out while Magikit happily began to twirl the bottle around. At one point the feline manage to grapple it properly in between his paws, copying what he'd witnessed earlier and pretending to treat the air. "Think you're a trainer now?" Grayson questioned, turning on his phone to find that it'd been Azalea who'd texted him. "Kit!"

For the next half hour Grayson spent his time pouring over his pokedex, committing to memory the moves he'd be teaching his pokemon, once his items arrived, as well as mulling over a few names to give Magikit. Unfortunately, by the time his hour was up, he hadn't found a name that would stick and so, deciding to put the decision off for just a little longer, and made his way to the pokecenter. Just as he'd been promised, upon arriving at the red building, he was met by a common delivery man who handed him off a package without a word. Yawning, Grayson only gave a nod before he tucked the package underneath his arms, not bothering to look into it. He had a time limit not, and he was unwilling to receive an earful just because he'd stopped to check his items. He could do that on his way to the next city.
