Jurei watched as markings appeared on Shimo's face. He seemed to be getting the hang of things but a little too quickly it seemed. He was taking in way to much energy at once, something he couldn't control surely. Jurei sighed as he apologized under his breath. He then gave Shimo a swift kick in the torso to force him to lose his focus. "You're taking too much in, try it a little bit slower." he said raising a brow.

Starting to feel out how the Nature Chakra was being drawn into his body. While he felt it trickle in slowly at first, then gradually open up to more like a stream, Shimo fluctuated his chakra to overpower the flowing Nature chakra and balance it out. The markings were appearing, steadily this time instead of rapidly. Shimo felt weird as he noticed that he could sense his teacher, the nature chakra heightening his perception of hearing and scent slightly as well. [Sennin Moodo [ Hermit Mode ] 5/10]
After a while, Shimo felt he had enough chakra gathered to sustain the sage mode. He stood up and looked around, eyes different colors, one brown, one blue ringed. The markings were dark circles around his eyes, starting to lead down to his cheeks, no other markings were near. After a while, Shimo felt all of the chakra he absorbed rapidly rush from his body. Sitting down, Shimo realized he didn't balance the nature chakra with his own chakra. He meditated once more, drawing in the nature chakra and balancing it out with his own. He was taking it on more quickly, but not too fast at the same time. The markings reappeared, more markings joining the former as they moved along his cheeks and along to the bottoms of his ears. The Nara continued gathering chakra to the point where he could actually control it and move around without losing his gathered chakra. That was only the first step, as his teacher showed him by shoving him down to the ground. Shimo had molded the chakra proper enough to walk, but not properly enough for an actual combat scenario. Shimo growled yet again. He had never had training this intense before and hoped it would never get to this point again. Shimo began meditating yet again. The markings appeared as Shimo gathered his nature chakra, molding it within him and making it so it wouldn't disperse at the loss of focus. It was supposed to be a natural thing for sages to gather chakra and mold it to be sustained within them for combat. [Sennin Moodo [ Hermit Mode ] 9/10]
Shimo stood up, spreading his arms out for his teacher to strike him. Jurei wound up a kick and Shimo stepped back rapidly, showing that not only could he sense the kick, he could also react to it on a much faster level. Shimo felt powerful, stronger than he had before. "Thank you, Jurei-sensei." Shimo said, bowing as he released the nature chakra and it left his body, markings dispersing as well. Jurei continued to watch over Shimo as he trained gathering nature chakra, taking the appropriate steps to make sure things went over smoothly. After what seemed like a good while it appeared he finally got the hang of it. "Congrats Shimo, not many can say they've made it this far. Is there anything else you'd like to work on before we return to Konoha?" he asked folding his arms over his chest.

Jurei sighed as he picked up his few belongings and set the forest camp back to its original state. "Very well then. See you at the gates." Jurei said as he headed back towards Konoha. [exit]

Azeiel the Fallen
On a road deep in the midnight forest, a cart lay ransacked, its driver and any passengers missing. A note left at the wreckage--stabbed into the side of the cart--stated that a man and child had been taken hostage, and would be returned if 5000 Ryou were left in the cart by midnight. The note was signed: "The Ito Band".
About a mile away, a group of a dozen bandits sat around a fire, sharpening their weapons. A burly, middle-aged man and his equally burly wife sat tied to a tree nearby, their hands and feet bound and their mouths gagged. Three bandits kept watch over them from the warmth of the fire, weapons at the ready.
Such a bore, having to go all the way out here just to smack some bandits around. As he made his way up the trail he came upon the ransacked caravan. Examining the area he found no traces of blood which meant whoever was driving the caravan didnt put up a fight. Pathetic. Finally catching sight of the note however his position changed a bit. He hated those that didnt stand up for themselves but he hated cowards more and that was exactly what these bandits were. Threatening people they had no right to threaten and taking captives. Fortunately for him that would be his ticket to finding these bandits. After a moment of annoying searching he finally found the tracks he was looking for. Based off of the depth of the tracks the captives were bigger sized. Following the tracks a bit until he saw the camp where he stopped and watched. He had time to think about this. It wasnt close to the deadline so why rush into things. Wait.. Why NOT? That was a good question. They were just bandits after all. What could go wrong. Closing his eyes he began to slow his breathing and circulate his chakra this was going to be a fight no two ways about it.
As Hotaru approached, he would hear a few of the thieves talking excitedly about what they would do with the cash. One of them wanted to buy a better sword, one of them wanted to get the biggest sandwich in the land, and another one wanted to build an orphanage to please some deity that hailed from another planet, had super strength and could leap tall buildings in a single bound, and was weak to glowing green rocks. As this thief expounded on his deity's actions, the hostages rolled their eyes. It was a bit late in the game to run back to the Village, they realized, but listening to these thieves was starting to make them feel like risking their lives to escape was a good option.
Dropping his smoke from his lips he shrugged his jacket off with a smile. Having finally located the two villagers he knew where he would need to be to ensure they were protected. The same coudlnt be said for the bandits though. With a sight he took a deep breath and quickly raced thought the seals of his jutsu before disappearing and quickly reappearing in the camp with his back to the villagers. Without wasting a second he brought his lips to his mouth and exhaled the stream of flames into the camp letting the natural fire they had going feul the flames even more. In the confusion he quickly raced though another string of seals as what could only be described as a prison of flames formed around the group separating him and the bandits from the two civilians outside making sure they wouldn't get burned by his jutsu.

The group was certainly taken off-guard by the sudden attack, but ducking and panicking saved them from most of the damage. As soon as the fiery prison went up, the panic kicked into overdrive until one of the thieves--one of the ones that had been on watch--exhaled a rather large volume of water at the flames. The fire prison would be interrupted long enough for a few of the thieves to escape: four of them rushed out before the flames could get them, weapons swinging for the interloper.
Now the party was getting started, eight bandits were burned to naught but ash in his assault upon their camp,"Brushing his hair from his face as the flames danced he laughed,"No blood, no bone, NO ASH!!." Drawing his blade his held it off to his side and with a flick of the wrist engulfed it in flames before sending flaming arcs at the one who had been so bold as to extinguish his flames. With a spin he parried the first bandits longsword and used his momentum to push him away slashing his back open before it was seared shut by the flaming sword. The blow wouldnt kill him but CERTAINLY take him out of the fight from the crippling pain. Ducking under the second surviving bandits axe as it buried into the tree he laughed and extended his left hand down to his side straightening his fingers into a knife hand as it was engulfed in flames before plunging the flaming fist into axemans stomach and out his back. Ten down two to go. Only Jack B Nimble as he was callin him and the man who extingushied his flames remained. Shoving the axe man off of him and his arm he spoke to the two from the caravan," Use his axe to free yourselves. Get back to your caravan and wait for me there."

They were falling like flies, the bandits realized, but they would not go down without a fight. Jack B. Nimble tackled his fellow bandit out of the path of the incoming attacks, then jumped to his feet and high-tailed it out of the area. The water-spewing bandit put a rag over his face and chucked a fistful of smoke bombs to the ground, creating a cloud of smoke that totally obscured both Jack and himself. After a few seconds, it would become painfully obvious that these were no ordinary smoke bombs: they were pepper bombs! The couple would start to cough violently and were unable to free themselves as a result. If they spent too much time in this cloud, they would surely be goners. Based on sound alone, it seemed Jack B. Nimble and his accomplice were not escaping in the same direction, but the trees made it difficult to tell which ways they were going.
This was starting to become tiresome and very irritating. Nimble was starting to piss him off with his jackrabbit-ness. Then they decided to take it to the next level of irritation by dropping smoke bombs, no pepper bombs, and running like the cowards they are. Going prone quickly he inhaled what clean air he could as he raced though a string of seals and began blowing a long continuous stream of blazing flames under the gas heating it up quickly Causing it to rise a bit and forcing the gas to follow the air that raced along the flames. Though he now had a pocket of clean air he couldnt see either of the two living bandits. Rising back to his feet he ripped the sleeves off of his shirt and used a kunai to slice the robes that bound the two. With a nod he pressed the two pieces of his shirt to their mouths. Still holding his breath he very roughly picked up the man whos back he had laid open and motioned for the two to follow him. Leaving the camp with the villagers in toe he quickly hurried back to the caravan. Once there he dropped the man before kneeling next to him,"Where are they going? Where is your base? Are there others?"

The man being interrogated was in so much pain--first from his wounds, then from the pepper gas--that he could hardly answer for a few moments. When at last he could, his voice was choked with tears and he sounded half-dead:
"Don't know, got none," he responded pitifully. "Why'd you kill everyone?"
The couple, in the meantime, were glad to be free and started stumbling through the trees back toward the road. It would seem they were safe for the time being. Jack B. Nimble and the water-spitter's footsteps gradually faded away until they were completely inaudible over the flames. The pepper air had obscured their exit, and now it seemed like they had both gotten away.
