Noel was starting to get skeptical as the voice once more led them along a path that he had taken several times before. Was this a joke for these Unown? He hadn’t thought these pokemon to be such mischievous creatures and yet… here they were. Jerking him around.
"This isn’t fun-!" Noel started to shout in exasperation, falling short though as he spotted something new on the scene. Had he missed it before? There was a doorway, a passage that he was certain he hadn’t travelled down yet. There were odd symbols that lined the boarder of the doors, with different Unown carvings on the frame. He couldn’t make out exactly what it spelt or even what the letters were supposed to be.
Play! The voice chimed and Noel’s head tilted in a frown. "Play what?" He absently inquired out loud. It probably would’ve looked strange, him just talking to himself but for the most part, it was only him in this section of the ruins. He heard something jiggled nearby and turned his attention that way. There was a cup with a flute in it, jiggling a bit before coming to a stop as Noel acknowledged it.
"Oh…," Noel murmured, walking over to eye the flute. He let Algernon climb up to sit on his shoulder so that his hands were free to hold it. He picked up the flute and looked it over; a simple black flute, he’d used one before. Play! Noel tensed a moment, glancing at Algernon again. Why did it want him to play so bad? Oh well…
With a deep breath he put the flute to his lips and played a simple tune. He wasn’t exactly a musician or anything, but the tune was rather haunting as it echoed off the surrounding walls. Soon though there was a humming in the air and Noel panicked as an Unown letter appeared to confront them. Oh no…

Noel felt relieved as Mattimeo swiftly disposed of the Unown that had appeared. He paused and stood there quietly a moment, listening for any further signs of Unown. It was silent for a moment but a chirp from Algernon caught his attention. The white-haired lad looked in the direction of the doorway again, a frown crossing his face as he noticed one of the carvings was now glowing. That… certainly hadn’t been occurring earlier.
Play! The random voice seemed to chime again in the back of his mind. Noel frowned, glancing down again. The flute had vanished from his hands… how was he supposed to play? He heard a jittering again, turning his focus over to a different area where yet another little stand with a cup resided. In there was yet another flute. Huh… he hadn’t noticed that. This was getting a little odd but he felt compelled to do what was asked. If anything, it seemed more promising to get out of here.
Noel walked over and retrieved the other flute, eyeing it a moment before repeating his early action. Once more, the little tunnel chamber was filled with the haunting sound of the flute melody -he didn’t even know what he was playing, but it was working- and soon another Unown appeared to apparently see what was going on with the sound.

The flute broke again and Noel frowned as yet another symbol lit up on the door frame. He was hoping that these actions weren’t going to result in some hideous consequences for him but… he didn’t know. There was just something about the voice and the feel of what he was doing that had him believing he was okay. Even Algernon seemed calm as well, though was on alert watching for any potential dangers as Mattimeo handled the new appearance.
There was no voice this time, but it didn’t take much looking for Noel to locate another flute in a holder. He picked it up and looked it over, glancing around once more before putting it to his lips and playing the song once more. This one seemed to have a bit of a different pitch to it, at least from what he could tell, and soon another Unown was appearing on the scene to greet them and see what the commotion was about.

Now that this monstrosity had been released upon them, the vortex of unown began pulsing anew, trying to summon another creature to their aid in protection of the ruins. "Luna, don't let them summon another one of those things!" Scarlett ordered, sending the fox off to start taking out unown one by one, disrupting their ritual. That bought Scarlett some time to deal with the menace that the psychic symbols had already brought into this realm. Scarlett had to admit though, she was impressed. What kind of cradily was this? What was it made of? Why did it have this unique anatomy...? She couldn't quite get a good look at it or scan it with her dex unfortunately, not without putting herself in danger of the attacks it threw at them, creating waves of sludge and whipping at them with it's tentacles. "Aero, use Focus Blast!" Scarlett commanded, though the Gallade had some difficulty charging up the attack while avoiding the Cradily as well. "I can't! It's too fast!" Aero grunted. "We'll give you some coverage; Damien! Distract it's attention!" The monochrome houndoom clicked his tongue and let loose an inferno of flames to surround the strange fossil, blinding it somewhat to their movements outside the ring of flames, and allowing Aero to charge and fire his focus blast.

Noel watched as the final flute shattered into dust and faded out of his grasp, a final symbol lighting up on the doorframe. He squinted as a light suddenly consumed the entryway, holding a hand up to shield his gaze some as he reached up to shield Algernon as well. What was going on?
Go! The voice chimed again and Noel shuffled a moment. He stared at the doorway, giving Algernon an uncertain glance before taking a solid breath before taking a few unsteady steps towards the glowing doorway. He wasn’t certain about this; it wasn’t smart but.
Oh well. With another deep breath, he stepped towards the door, staring a moment before finally braving up and stepping through. It was warm and odd and he felt a bit tingly and then the next thing he knew he was being blinded by … sunlight? Noel squinted and stared a moment before his eyes finally adjusted to the light that had been absent so long, noting that somehow, he had made his way back outside.
"H… how…," He murmured, glancing to Algernon who looked just as surprised at the sudden change of scenery. How long had they really been in there? It felt like time hadn’t changed. He glanced back at the ruins; the doorway was just behind him like he’d somehow managed to walk out. So… so weird.
He felt a bit uncomfortable with this whole experience. He glanced back ready to just move on when a strange glint caught his eye. There was…a music box? On the ground. In front of him. How…?
Noel knelt to pick it up, carefully holding the thing in between his hands. It was silver and antiquated in appearance. Certainly, not something he expected to find out in a place like this. Had someone from town dropped it? He’d have to check. For now, though, he just wanted to get back to his journey. He’d had enough of exploring ruins for now.

Alexandra waved farewell to Noel, eyes following the young boy as he entered the ruins, before she turned around to look at Aja. "Your comments were uncalled for," she remarked, calmly. The other woman rolled her eyes and snorted, "yeah, yeah. I get it. Mine wasn't the popular opinion." She dismissed Alexandra's disapproval with a wave of the hand and a lackadaisical response, "I did have a point though. Those ruins can be dangerous, especially for kids. Unown can be volatile," she continued, explaining her point of view. Alexandra sighed gently and shook her head, holding back from commenting any further. She could tell that, all though her wording was a little gruff, Aja had been coming from a place of sincerity.
"Well, well. If it isn't my two favorite girls." Both turned around as a voice spoke from behind them, Aja taking the time to roll her eyes at her brother. "There you are, I thought I was going to grow old before you showed." She approached the taller male and greeted him with a punch to the shoulder, a feigned look of shock his automatic response. "Sorry. You know I hate to make a pretty girl wait," he apologized, eyes lifting up to Alexandra so that she knew he was, mainly, referring to her. The brunette pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose before she raised an eyebrow, left curious by his comment but not enough to verbally question it.
"It's nice to see you again, Jay," Alexandra greeted him amicably. "Have you been keeping well?" Jay flashed a smile, "I've been a little tired, been run ragged for the past few days," he replied, ignoring the 'tsk' his sister emitted. "But, I feel myself revitalized and spirits soaring after being reunited with you." Again, Alexandra didn't respond --how could she?-- which gave Aja the chance to intervene. "Alright Casanova, cut it with the lines, will ya? We've got work to do," she spoke, further reminding him by flicking his forehead.
Jay scowled and reached up to rub his forehead, but after a moment he relaxed and sighed softly. "Right, right. Let's get to business." The man cracked his knuckles before he turned his attention to the ruins in front of him, "don't think I've been here before..." he murmured absentmindedly, more to himself than the other two.

Arezu dropped from Tanjoubi's tassles without even waiting for him to come to a stop. She stumbled at first but strode forward, looking quickly to return him and make sure Hakuren was following. "Zu...zuzu," he huffed, "You really think this'll work?" He couldn't let himself get excited easily, not after so much disappointment. Arezu nodded. "If there's a way to get these unown to help us, then these flutes'll do."
When they came before, the unown had made it clear that they would be keeping the last few she needed far away from her. But with the black flutes she got from the fair, she could call exactly the ones she wanted out from hiding with little trouble. "The way they were acting must mean we were close."We're coming, Celebi.
Arezu hesitated to let out Suicune and company, wary of them running off again. But she had to admit, thoughts like that felt wrong- why should she have so much power over when they were able to roam free? Disturbed, Arezu let out Suicune, Shiisa, Sham, Flurry, and the unnamed Gekkit and Chima. Damn, there's so many... It kind of made her happy.
Suicune swiveled his head to look at her. "Oh, go and have fun, you." He snorted, then padded down the hall flanked by Shiisa and Flurry. Sham and his new brothers sat in his back, buried in his rainbow mane.
Arezu released Hikaru before they were out of sight. "Could you keep an eye on them?" Hikaru took a moment to fix their auras in her mind. Even though she was still training her control, the raw power of her mega form gave her more than enough ability to track them. "Of course." Hikaru hesitated, feeling a plethora of other auras in the ruins. Other humans, and deep down, a mass of unown energy and...something else familiar. "Just let me know if anything happens nearby," Arezu said, pulling Hikaru out of her thoughts as if the human had heard them herself.
Although they were not deep yet Arezu pulled out her first flute. The first one I need is...E... A long, clear note drifted from the flute's mouth down the halls. After a few moments of silence, a single unown drifted slowly forward. Was that...yes, it must be! An e!
"Let's go, Ai!" Arezu released her espeon, using the psychic's powers to bring the unown closer so she could catch it.

Suicune padded down the corridor, enjoying the chattering of the little ones in his mane and the feel of their small paws as they shifted about. Sham seemed to be taking to acting the big brother to them, though Suicune noticed Flurry kept to the shadows. He continued deeper into the ruins, feeling in that way of his that it was where he wanted to go. When Arezu was successful, he could show up. No need for him to be there before.
Meanwhile, Arezu scrolled through her pokedex to figure out which unown she still needed. L and U, just two more. "Strange..." Hikaru murmured, looking at the walls. Arezu followed Hikaru's gaze. "What?""The unown, they are...away." Arezu had been too engrossed to realize, but...Hikaru was right. There was a feeling of tension, of deliberate ignorance. It felt a little like being in the eye of the storm.
"We have to keep going though. I think we'll want to get to the bottom..." Really, she could release all 28 of the unown together wherever she wanted. But Arezu felt like there would be some power to going deep in the ruins before doing it.
Arezu pulled another flute from her pack, sounding it carefully. It felt dead silent before the next unown came floating, almost willingly. Or maybe disinterested in causing more trouble? Still, Arezu couldn't help the feeling that something was going to happen. She pushed it down, but the nervousness and hope that this might work had her fingers jittery.

Suicune lifted his nose, feeling the air of the underground. Up ahead, yes, that was the way to go. Shiisa had fallen back to keep Flurry company, leaving Suicune to pad closer to the energy ahead on his own. Accompanied by Sham, Gekkit and Chifaera in his mane, of course.
There, in the center of a flurry of unown, stood the red-headed Scar. We have to stop meeting like this, the situation seemed to say. Like last time, a few unown broke from the swirling pack. They floated dociliy over, bobbing up and down in the soft wind Suicune summoned for them. Chifaera and Gekkit pushed up on their paws, watching the unown dance around them. Suicune observed Scarlett and her pokemon fighting from a distance, making no move to intervene. She was obviously busy...no need to mind him.
Arezu took out the last flute. She held it in her hands for a while without blowing it. At the bottom of a set of stairs she found herself in a dead-end room. She wasn't sure if it was the deepest room, or even the right one, but it was where she had found herself. With a look to all three of her pokemon she blew the flute and began the battle with the last unown.

With everything, for the most part, squared away Alexandra took the opportunity to check and begin replying to her messages, figuring that she wouldn't have the best reception once she entered the ruins. Both Marx and Rose had responded to her previous texts, though at the reminder that she needed to contact her family she waited until after she'd texted them first before returning to her friends'. First up was Marx.
Text to Marx: I'm proud of you, Marx. Even if you lost, the knowledge you gained from will surely benefit you in your next contest. If you tell me the next time you plan to enter a contest, and what category, I will try my best to make it there to support you.
I've been traveling with an acquaintance through the various regions. Right now we're about to make a visit to the Solaceon Ruins, so you'll have to forgive me if my next few replies are late. I cannot imagine my reception will be the best once inside.
Alexandra read the text over, twice, before she nodded and hit sent, immediately moving on to Rose's message next. Up ahead Aja and Jay were conversing quietly between each other, waiting patiently for Alexandra to finish up.
Text to Rose: I'm glad to hear that you've been well. Kanto? Well, I can't imagine that you'll have much difficulty with the first few gyms, considering the impressive amount you already have, but I wish you the best of luck nevertheless. He tried to chew your hair? How odd. Did your hair smell a certain way? Though my time with him was brief, I noticed that he held a preference for Cheri berries, perhaps the smell of your hair reminded him of that.
I've been traveling, for the most part, though right now I'm heading to the ruins Solaceon Town has to offer, in Sinnoh; I plan to challenge Crasher Wake afterwards. You'll have to forgive me if my responses become a bit sporadic after this, ruins have never made for the best area to text.
Just as she'd done for her last text, Alexandra proofread this one as well before she sent it. In that time her sister had eagerly responded to her, which was a bit endearing in its own way, and so the brunette made certain to send out another text before she exited out of her messages and turned the device off. "Forgive me for the delay," she spoke, addressing the siblings. "We can head in now."

With both siblings on either side of her Alexandra walked into the ruins, though she'd barely stepped foot inside before she came to some mental realization and released Caldo, his fiery crown casting light onto the previously darkened walls. Alexandra smiled gently at her starter before she reached a hand out to pat his shoulder, "It still hasn't truly registered that you're fully evolved," she confessed. The ape cooed, breaking out into a grin of his own, before he puffed out his chest and brushed at his form. "Yes, I agree. I think it suits you." Though she didn't have Amethyst out Alexandra could read body language, and Caldo was practically brimming with pride.
With Caldo's fire lighting the way the group headed farther into the ruins, Alexandra's eyes brightening as she caught sight of a row of unown figures etched onto a wall. She stopped and leaned forward, running her fingers over the rough surface. "Amazing..." she breathed, its translation lost to her while the wonder remained. Unfortunately her companions didn't quite share the same awe that Alexandra did, Aja in particularly taking to tapping her foot softly against the ground as she waited for Alexandra to finish up.
"Why are you so caught up on these words? If we go farther we can see actual Unown," she pointed out. Jay frowned gently before he swatted his sister's head, "don't be rude. Allow the fair Alexandra all the time she needs," he scolded. Alexandra turned back to the two siblings, noting the glare Aja was currently sending her brother, before she shook her head. "It's fine," she assured quietly. "Aja does have a point. Let us continue on, I did come here to train after all." Aja, who was quick to recover, shot her sibling a victorious grin before she turned to Alexandra, grabbing her left arm before she began leading her onward. "Glad you can see my point of view, Alex~" Jay scoffed and rolled his eyes, annoyed, but reluctantly followed after the two.

Arezu opened her bag and snorted when she saw the ridiculous pile of pokeballs inside. "Here goes nothing..." She released them one by one, fingers starting to buzz with anticipation as she reached the last few.
The released unown were eerily quiet, floating nearly still in the muffled underground room. "They're creepy...you sure you know what you're doing?" Arezu set her mouth, reaching for the last two balls. "'Course." Hakuren did a snort of his own.
The last unown were released and joined the rest, now circled around the girl and her zorua. Arezu and Hakuren exchanged a look before she spoke up. "You guys like to grant wishes, right? Well we want to find Celebi." There was a long moment of silence with each and every unown's eyes staring at them. "Do something already!" Hakuren growled. That's when they started chanting.
They spun slowly at first, but quickly picked up speed. Hakuren pressed into Arezu's side to keep from being blown away by the psychic storm tumbling around them. Hikaru and Ai were both keeping the other from jumping in to "save" Arezu because as much as their instincts told them to help her they didn't want to ruin Arezu and Hakuren's chance.
A ball of light appeared before Arezu. She reached out, and the second her hand touched it all movement stopped. In her hand was a round bell. "What-" Arezu looked up, but all the unown were gone. She looked down at the pile of empty pokeballs but they were all gone. An unown shaped like an eye floated at her feet and jumped when she saw it. It floated out of the room, taking one last pokeball with it. A...souvenir?"Zuzu! Let me see let me see!" Before she could do anything Hakuren had assumed his human disguise and snatched the bell from her hands. "The heck is this supposed to be?"
Now that the unown were gone Hikaru and Ai rushed forward. While Ai twined herself around Arezu's legs, Hikaru asked, "Is that their answer?" Hakuren was shaking the bell by his ear. "I guess..." Typical. Of course those little shits wouldn't give her a straight answer. "May I see?" Hikaru held out a paw. "Knock yourself out," Hakuren huffed. He handed the bell over then dropped his illusion.
Hikaru placed a hand below and on top then closed her eyes. "Hmm... I can feel energy in it. I am sorry, since I do not know what your Celebi's aura is like..." Arezu sighed and took the bell from her. "It's fine."
Hikaru glanced at Hakuren. "Perhaps it is somehow tied to Celebi?" Arezu rubbed at the bell. It did somehow remind her of Celebi. "Maybe we're supposed to ring it?" Hakuren suddenly perked up. His human form exploded into Arezu's face. "That's it! I bet if we went to the forest and rang it she'd hear!"

With the successful attack, the strange gelatinous cradily roared and collapsed on the ground, allowing Scarlett to capture it while Luna continued to fight off a few of the remaining unown. When Scarlett retrieved her newest prize though, she had noticed that the psychic type symbols were starting to retreat towards a corridor. One glance in the direction they were heading, and Scarlett became acutely aware that it wasn't a retreat, but a move to greet a familiar rainbow maned suicune who was looking on from afar with some smug expression. "You again?" Scarlett quirked a brow. "I daen't suppose ya changed yer mind about joining my team, neu did ya?" Scarlett smirked, turning her attention back to Luna as the Arusune yipped, alerting her to a new unown for her collection, this one shaped like a J. Nodding in thanks, Scarlett quickly captured it as well.
"Ifn yer so chummy with these manipulative little wretches, why daen't ya make yerself useful and tell them ta quit messing with me?" She suggested offhandedly. Not that she expected the suicune to actually help her, or even have any sort of sway over the unown in spite of how they seemed to like to play with him, but it never hurt to ask.

Making his way to the ruins didn't really take Adder too long, and Pengyou and Lady were able to easily keep pace with him. The trio reached the ruins but didn't quite enter, at least, not immediately. Adder took a moment to simply observe, before he brought his bag around to dig inside, and pull out the incense. It wasn't exactly much of a light source, but he could probably work it out, one way or another. He could... hm, well... maybe Pengyou could provide light or something, somehow. It didn't really matter. He had a flashlight if he needed it, he just didn't watn to drain the batteries, and he planned to be there for a while. Holding the incense, he weighed his options, before, ultimately, heading inside. He'd light it once he was in, and then he'd figure out who to train first...

The suicune's continued silence said it all. He wasn't going to help, which Scarlett expected in the first place, but it still irked her more than she would have liked it too. Rolling her eyes, she turned with a huff to put the rainbow a*****e out of sight and mind. His languid gaze was only going to distract and annoy her.
Instead she turned her attention to the matter at hand, another swarm of unown coming in to try and fend them off now that their monstrosity had been captured and stored away along with several of themselves. Luna continued to fight them off quite valiantly. She seemed to be doing so well in fact, that she didn't need any healing. Or at the very least, Scarlett didn't see any marks on her. That had to be a good sign right?
