By the time he reached Sinnoh, Adder was less than enthused at the idea of going in, again, and exchanging the last of hsi rage candybars for some more starters. If he was lucky, he could always... find a way out of that, like he had in Hoenn, but he also didn't feel like focusing on that. It was a wonder-- he could tunnel vision like hell, but sometimes the boy just didn't have the attention span for anything. At the moment, the latter situation applied. He would rather, honestly, go battle the gyms or something. He could get the starters on his way back. Something else occurred to him, though-- he could always look for other ways to get them, too. For instance... he couldn't be the only trainer less than excited over their starter. He could try and get pokemon and maybe trade them for starters. He could take them off the hands of anyone who wasn't going to use them. There were ample possibilities, and the region belonging to the starters was probably the best place to start looking. And since he needed some badges anyway....

Adder cautiously maneuvered around the town, trying to find a place where he could get a map. It didn't take him long to figure out a way to just download it on his pokedex and go from there, though he was a bit flustered he hadn't thought of it sooner. He checked his map, annoyed to find the gym wasn't for a while, but paused when he noticed that there were... ruins in the region. Like... ancient ruins? Like where those strange pokemon could be found? Hmm... He was pretty sure he'd heard of them having some odd powers. It might be worth at least checking out, while he was in the region. But, yeesh... he was starting to get off from his initial goals with all this traveling... Maybe it would be better to just go back to Alola after he beat the gyms...

Shaking that off, Adder put his device away and looked thoughtfully back at his pokemon. He kind of wondered if he should train mudkip, so that it would evolve. Unfortunately, none of his other pokemon had really evolved to clear a spot on his team, and he didn't really want to waste time training, either. Maybe he could spend some of the time traveling looking into the gyms he would be battling... and whether there were any good tricks to training his pokemon up faster....

The group touched down in Twinleaf in the Sinnoh region after a few hours of flight. The regions were farther apart than Noel originally realized and he found himself yawning a little from the effects of such a long flight. Rubbing his eyes, he watched as Sherlock hopped off and began sniffing the area for the elusive eggs they’d been searching for with Mattimeo bouncing happily after him. And it was supposed to be a chance for his pokemon to relax. He’d hate to force them to do battle when they were supposed to be having a fun time. Noel stifled another yawn, smacking his lips, and looking up to try and track his pokemon. He couldn’t see them, which probably should’ve been concerning, but he was certain they wouldn’t wander too far. He could also here the excited chirps of Mattimeo which meant they were far off.

Algernon gave a coo and sat up to get a closer look at the music box as well. He seemed to be thinking the same thing that his trainer was thinking and both eyed the little thing curiously. There was one of those key twists to activate it but before Noel could so much as latch his fingers onto it, his attention was snapped to Mattimeo and Sherlock returning with an egg on the Lillipup’s back. He smiled, setting the music box in his pocket and retrieving the egg, praising the pair for their quick find. That really hadn’t taken any time at all! He sent the egg off and gathered everyone up again, climbing back on the Pidgeot and getting ready to head off to the next destination, the music box still on his mind.

After the discovery of the egg, the group quickly mounted their rides and once more continued on their path. Across the ocean and back to the east, they found themselves in the region of Shinnoh. As small towns go, this one was about the tenth of the size of Lacunosa, making it more or less a hamlet than a town. It took all of ten minutes to reach from one side to the other. It certainly was more spread out than Lacunosa. A quite life like this was something Avikna wouldn't mind. Tay herself seemed to love the wide open-ness of the town. She could run about, and not disturb people as much as other places, and it seemed there weren't to many Pokemon around, at least not ones that didn't tolerate Tay whipping by with Freya and Cotee hanging onto her hair for dear life. When the brunette finally came to a stop it was only because she'd come to the treeline. Turning back on her heel, the teen rushed up to Avikna with a wide smile. "I like this place. It's so open." She stated. Avikna nodded. "Yea. You won't find to many places like this anymore." Really only the starting towns were the ones who were wide open like this. Pallet Town, Little Root, even Nuvema was rather wide-spread. Perhaps she'd settle down in one of these starting towns? Offer her wisdom and experiences to newer would-be trainers? One day maybe.

Sticking around the exit of the city, Avikna rested down on Mave's back while she watched Tay continue her search through a nearby field, aiding the farmers who were seeding crops to grow for the season. Cotee and Freya helped out as well, handing over the rice plant, since the water itself was to deep for them to simply stand in. It was easy to see why an egg was placed here; free labor. A part of Avikna got the urge to help out herself, but she couldn't afford to be distracted encase something came up. Avikna was always one to have a skeptical outlook during times of peace and quiet. Generally, her time of rest didn't last long, and of course this time wasn't any different. Tay, busily planting some rice, while moving leaves that had fallen into the pool water, was soon met by a group of children waiting near the edge of the pond. A meek woman was trying to tell them to leave, as they were skipping rocks, but she wasn't able to deter them from being little hoodlums. "Buzz off!" Tay voiced, resting a balled fist on either of her hips. The boys stuck out their tongues and tossed a rock at Tay in response. The teen furrowed her brow. "Elias, teach'em a lesson!" Tay motioned, pointing towards the boys. Elias, who was floating overhead bobbed his head, and with a few flaps on his wings he sent up a gust of wind that toppled one boy back, but chased the others away. Though not a moment later did an older boy appear, arms crossed with a Pokemon at his front. "You foreigners messin' with us is despicable." He spat. Tay glared up, brown eyes fixated on the boy. "Learn some manners." Tay retorted just as strongly. "Make me." He sneered, motioning his Pokemon forward. "I'm the best trainer this side of Lake Verity!" Tay was up for that challenge.

The boy's Pokemon was a Roggenrola, a normally native Unovian Pokemon. How he managed to get his mitts on one was a mystery, but being it was Unovian, Tay knew just what that Pokemon was. Calling out Yumin to take this battle, the boy still appeared confident, despite being at a type disadvantage and a field disadvantage. This didn't seem to bother the Roggenrola in the slightest. The tiny rock Pokemon managed to bound across to Yumin, smack into him with his entire body and return to dry land unscathed. It caught not only Tay off guard, but Yumin himself, keeping him from properly retaliating. Elias took the initiative and swooped in to take over, getting a Headbutt himself, despite being airborne. It started Yumin, granting the Roggenrola a second opportunity to headbutt him. Though this time, Elias was keen to the Roggenrola's tricks and unleashed a powerful grass-type induced ball of energy at the Roggenrola, fainting it at last.
