Candidate Sign Up!
This is where you'll sign up for your Candidates for future hatching consideration! This means you don't have to worry about whether or not you're there to sign up for a clutch. Any characters listed will always get possible consideration, whether you're around or not. That said, it is entirely up to you to pull Candidates out who have already Impressed, aged out, quit Candidacy, or if you're not interested in having them Impress this go-around.
You may edit your characters in and out as needed. Please make sure you remove any characters you don't want to be considered early!
If you do not want a character considered for a clutch, it will be up to you, the owner, to remove them from this list! If you don't your Candidates risks Impressing!
Things to Keep In Mind
Candidate Swap Rules
There is a long-standing tradition to call upon a Candidate Swap with allied Weyrs. These swaps came into fashion shortly after the 9th Pass, when Weyrs started shutting down, and queens began clutching in various weyrholds and other unique places. If a queen was in need of Candidates, word would go out to other Weyrs and they would send their Candidates in for the Hatching. This way no baby dragons needed to be without possible pairings, no matter the queen's location.
Not every Hatching will offer Candidate Swaps, but some will. Any Candidate who signs up for the swap will not be able to return to their home Weyr if they Impress somewhere else, and commits themselves to serving their new home Weyr for at least 5 Turns after graduation. Any transfer requests will be denied.
Why?
Because the Weyr doesn't want to give its own babies away. If they are investing time, marks, resources, and training into these Hatchlings, then they expect a certain return. It would do them no good if graduates simply took their children and ran.
No. Exceptions.
Since Time Out With tensions high after the rude behavior of Western Weyr at High Reaches hatching, there has been a lot of speculation about the fate of the Candidate swap.
Let it be known that Western Weyr & High Reaches Weyr have decided to allow Candidate Swaps to resume.

Things to Keep In Mind
- You do not get to pick what color of dragon you Impress. Please don't drop hints or tell people night and day what color of dragon you'd like them to Impress, because we will be matching based on personality, and what we think will make the best pairs.
Dragon personality, color, name, and inspiration are all pre-determined. You get what you get and cannot change them once given away. While personalities can grow and develop as you RP them, we ask you try to at least keep your dragons personalties in mind as you write.
Do not complain, cry, whine, b***h, or grumble if you do not Impress. Do not complain, cry, whine, b***h, or grumble if you don't Impress a color you don't like. Do not complain, cry, whine, b***h, or grumble if we choose a Candidate you signed up over a different Candidate you would have preferred to see Impress.
Do not deter players or staff from entering their Candidates for consideration. In this shop, we allow both staff and players to participate. Some staff might have signed up for guaranteed custom hatchlings behind-the-scenes in the staff forum, as a perk for being staff. Staff are also encouraged to sign up here, whether they have a custom-in or not, so we might ensure everyone is aware of who is interested in this clutch!
You may enter as many Candidates as you like provided they match the Weyr, but you may only win one per Clutch.
Uta & Mr Cheri will be matching Hatchlings to Candidates. This will be done privately and only revealed during the Hatching.
You do not have to enter your Candidates to RP them during the Touching and Hatching. Just know they will not be considered as a hatchling match and will be guaranteed not to Impress.
If you miss signing your Candidate up then they will not be considered for Impression. Sorry! We keep this open permanently but may lock it when we get close to a clutch.
Once you enter a Candidate, please make sure you are genuinely okay with them being considered for future clutches! Think about who you want entered before you post them in this thread because we like to talk about possible matches early. Furthermore, please make sure you edit your lists regularly since we will lock the thread from time to time. We will lock this thread during a Queen's Touching.
Please enter your Stands Impression characters OR aged out Candidates that are 30 or under if you wish them to be considered. No guarantees any of them will Impress.
You do not have to RP if you Impress. While we would love it if you gave the characters life should you Impress, it's not a requirement.
You can only enter APPROVED Candidates. Don't sign up Candidates or character sheets that have not been signed off on by Uta or Mr Cheri
If we do not find appropriate matches, or wind up with more dragons than eligible Candidates, we have the right to double up Impressions, or NPC the dragons to give away at a later date.

The Candidate Swap Rules
All the above rules apply to the Candidate Swap.
Outside Candidates who Impress will be considered riders of their new home Weyr, and you cannot take them out or have them abandon the Weyr. Their new Weyr will be their home for at least 5 Turns after Impression -- sorry kids! Fair is fair. They gave you a lifemate and your missing piece, the least you can do is give them your time.
Outside Candidates will be brought in to the clutching Weyr for the Touching -- and then herded back home to their home Weyr when it finishes. They will then be flown into the Weyr likely a few days before the Hatching.
Those who don't Impress can stay for the Feast, and will then hitch a ride back to their home Weyr when it finishes. Candidatemasters will ensure that all Candidates are accounted for, and they also expects all Candidates to behave themselves while under others care. Any trouble or bad reviews will be taken seriously, and could result in expulsion. "You are ambassadors of [INSERT PREFERRED] Weyr -- act like it."
Stands-Only Candidates will not be there for the Touching, obviously, but can visit a Hatching as a guest. Please note, though, that it should make sense for them to be there -- either as a guest, or shared help. Not everyone will attend the Hatching but the Weyrleaders will allow those who can go, go. Just keep in mind the Weyr still needs riders and other workers to keep the Weyr running the day-to-day so please be reasonable with whom you send over.
A guest Weyr usually sends over extra Lower Cavern's workers over to help the hatching Weyr with the extra-large feast set-up, cooking, and cleaning; some riders will need to be on delivery duty of guests and Candidates, etc. Ranking riders are expected to attend the Hatching and its Feast as ambassadors, though not all will -- i.e. a Weyrwoman Second might stay behind while the Weyrwoman attends. Wingleaders, if you do not attend, send one of your Seconds. Someone is probably going to be stuck back at the Weyr for emergencies, and not all Wings are expected to go. The Weyrs don't shut down just because someone else s having a Hatching, remember.
Candidates, while you will bring some things during your stay as a guest to a clutching Weyr, if you Impress the rest of your stuff will be brought over that day. You'll get all your stuff delivered by dragonback and likely be in place that very night you Impress.
Please PM Uta or Mr Cheri if you have questions or concerns.
